Sean Lennon admits that he was naïve about his family legacy when he began a career in music. He also admits that when he received bad reviews for his first solo record, deep down he agreed with them. Sean talks with Marc about how he grew into himself as an artist and musician, how “John and Yoko” as the world sees them are different from his dad and mom as he knows them, and how the trauma of losing his father at a young age left him with memories that will never go away. Kat is the Edgar nominated author of two young adult novels, and most recently collaborated with Stan Lee on his final project, the Audible Original Stan Lee's Alliances: A Trick of Light. The title is one of Lee's final collaborations and most innovative works created and finished in his lifetime, and I'm delighted I got to speak with his co-writer, Kat, about working with Stan Lee on this one-of-a-kind audio storytelling experience. Kat is a gifted writer who understands the complexity of youth culture and owning one's voice when it comes to storytelling. Narrated by the inspiring Yara Shahidi, Stan Lee's Alliances: A Trick of Light introduces listeners to a mysterious young woman, Nia, whose fate is intertwined with a seemingly ordinary Midwestern teenager, Cameron Ackerson, whose quest for YouTube stardom takes him to the heart of the Great Lakes Triangle where he is imbued with the power to "see" and "hear" a new reality. The truly immersive new title is currently available on Audible (Audible.com/ATrickOfLight).

Sun Wukong, the (Handsome) Monkey King, is both an actual monkey and an actual king…and presumably handsome according to whatever standard that is judged. One of the most famous anti-heroes of Chinese literature, we start his story, and the story of the extremely famous “Journey to the West” at the beginning, with the story of the monkey’s rock mom on the Flower-Fruit mountain. The creature this week is the ningyo, the human fish. It’s neither human nor a fish, but it is a tired introvert who just wants some me time. I'm heading out to go experience Avengers: Endgame, all 3 hours and 1 minute of the movie that currently has the highest Rotten Tomatoes score of any Marvel movie to date. And I haven't read any of the guides as to when it's safe to go to the bathroom, for fear of spoilers, but if you want to go in prepared, I certainly don't blame you. Just do a Google search for “Avengers Endgame Bathroom Breaks,” there are tons of guides available, but be careful because they all give out some plot points, which is why I didn't read them. No spoilers! And if you follow Robert Downey, Jr. on Twitter, you might have seen his tweet from Easter in which he's sporting a bunny suit: https://twitter.com/RobertDowneyJr/status/1120020759563264000 Here's the video that he pulled the still from, a 2016 clip, also from Easter-time, in which he announces the foundation of Random Act Funding, a wonderful charity that he launched with his wife Susan and announced in, um, colorful fashion: https://youtu.be/m9RY3SHyTjE Speaking of Stan Lee's incredible legacy, Audible will release Stan Lee's Alliances: A Trick of the Light on June 27.
