Editors - Nona Khodai ACE and Tim Roche The Fantastic Four: First Steps sees editors Nona Khodai and Tim Roche reunite for the 37th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the second reboot of the Fantastic Four film series. The film also marks the first time the two have worked together since Marvel's live action series debut, WandaVision. Although each had worked with him separately before, WandaVision was the first time both Nona and Tim worked with director Matt Shakman on a Marvel project. The Fantastic Four: First Steps takes place in 1964, as the world celebrates the fourth anniversary of astronauts Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm becoming the superhero team known as the Fantastic Four (Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch and the Thing). But the celebration doesn't last for long as the four face their most daunting challenge yet as they defend Earth from Galactus and Silver Surfer. NONA KHODAI ACE A Southern California native and graduate of USC's Cinematic Arts school, Nona started her career as an assistant on such films as the Bad Robot production, Super 8. Her first foray as an editor on a "superhero" project came courtesy of showrunner Eric Kripke who brought her aboard the The Boys, where she would work with director Matt Shakman for the first time. Nona was twice nominted for an Emmy award for her work on Marvel's WandaVision, and nominated for another Emmy for Marvel's Ms. Marvel. TIM ROCHE Known for his work on comedy series like Silicon Valley and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, as well as for his contributions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including WandaVision, Thor: Love and Thunder and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Tim has received five Emmy nominations for his work, including one this year for Welcom To Wrexham, a show that has already brought him an ACE Eddie Award. Send us a textAs promised, this week on episode #109 of "Fabulous Film & Friends we're going to weigh in on the two big ticket super hero extravaganzas from the Summer of 2025: James Gunn's Superman starring David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Skyler Gisando, Wendell Pierce, Edi Gathegi, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Sara Sampaio and Nicholas Hoult up against The Fantastic Four: First Steps directed by Matt Shakman and starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss Bachrach, Joseph Quinn, Julia Garner and Ralph Ineson. Returning for yet another daringly detailed deep dive into the world of fantastical four colored fantasies is nephew to a comic bookstore Kingpin, author, teacher and hypnotherapist, Joe Field. Before we blast off into the Ultra-Negative Zone, the synopses: In 2025's Superman, it is 3 years into his mission and Earth's Champion, The Man of Steel has met his match in Lex Luthor who causes a distraction with a giant monster and breaks into Superman's secret Fortress of Solitude where he translates a message from Superman's parents in which they instruct their son Kal El –Superman's Kryptonian name-- to take over earth and spread his seed. Using this jarringly awkward info to turn public opinion against our hero, Luthor has also made a clone of Superman called Ultraman who continually batters and beats the Man of Steel into submission. On top of that, Luthor has a Pocket Universe where he jails his enemies including his ex-girlfriends. And Lex has Ultraman place Superman in a cage with another a super powered being named Metamorpho who can weaken Superman by turning his hands into Kryptonite. Ultimately, Luthor's cruelty overwhelms Metamorpho who helps Superman escape the pocket universe but it in doing so, the unstable dimensional rift threatens to swallow Earth. It is only with the help of scrappy reporter Lois Lane and a team of heroes called The Justice Gang that Superman that is able to beat Ultraman, Luthor and close the rift. There's also some political stuff going on with two made up countries going to War because of Luthor's manipulations. In The Fantastic Four: First Steps it has been four years since Reed Richards, Sue Storm, her brother Johnny and Ben Grimm were transformed by cosmic rays into the world's protectors, super stretchy genius Mr. Fantastic, The Invisible Woman, The Human Torch and the rock man known as The Thing who are biggest celebrities on the planet. The exciting news that team leaders Reed Richards and Sue Storm are expecting their first child is put on the back burner by the arrival of the Silver Surfer the herald of the planet eating Celestial known as Galactus. Galactus tells the Fantastic Four that he will spare Earth in exchange for their yet unborn child, but that his too high a price to pay. With the public opinion against them, and world watching nervously, the team springs into action and devises a incredible plan to teleport planet earth into the far reaches of space. But then the Surfer and Galactus arrive and put the kabosh on the plan so the FF amends the plan to send Galactus himself into the far reaches of space, which seemed like the better strategy to begin with. So which movie was dumber and more suitable for booger eating six year olds? Find out!Watch to the video podcast on Youtube:https://youtu.be/cZCszsepEVM

What if the most powerful force for change is often the most invisible? In today's sermon, Pastor Pencil Boone highlights the life of Timothy, who, like the Invisible Woman from the Fantastic Four, embodies unwavering strength while often working behind the scenes. Drawing from Acts 16:1-5, Pastor Pencil reveals that Timothy was a vital stabilizing force and a faithful disciple of Paul, reminding us that true impact does not always come from being in the spotlight. By reflecting on Timothy's sincere faith—taught by his mother and grandmother—Pastor Pencil emphasizes that age does not determine one's capacity to multiply and mentor others in Christ. He challenges the congregation to reject self-imposed limitations, proclaiming that each person, regardless of age or perceived confidence, has the potential to lead and influence. The sermon calls everyone at City United to step into their role as multipliers, ensuring they commit the teachings of God to faithful individuals who can pass them on. Pastor Pencil urges, “What steps will you take to become a faithful and stable multiplier?” Now is the time to act and invest in the lives of others!

Andrew Gordon & John Humphrey unite for a Reaction & Review of Fantastic Four (2005), the action-packed superhero blockbuster that brought Marvel's First Family to the big screen! Directed by Tim Story (Barbershop, Ride Along), this early 2000s adaptation follows four astronauts who gain extraordinary powers after a cosmic radiation accident—setting the stage for one of the most iconic Marvel origin stories. Ioan Gruffudd (King Arthur, Titanic) stars as Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic, the brilliant but emotionally awkward scientist with the power of elasticity. Jessica Alba (Sin City, Into the Blue) plays Sue Storm aka the Invisible Woman, whose force fields and invisibility are matched by her inner strength and intelligence. Michael Chiklis (The Shield, American Horror Story) brings pathos and grit to Ben Grimm aka The Thing, a rock-skinned powerhouse grappling with his new form. Chris Evans (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Knives Out) blazes onto the scene as Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch, whose cocky charm and flame powers light up the screen. The late Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck, Charmed) menaces as Victor Von Doom aka Doctor Doom, a power-hungry industrialist turned metal-skinned tyrant. Kerry Washington (Scandal, Django Unchained) also stars as Alicia Masters, the kind-hearted sculptor who sees beyond Ben Grimm's monstrous exterior. From the unforgettable Brooklyn Bridge rescue scene to the climactic final battle with Doom, Fantastic Four features early 2000s Marvel flair, flashy powers, and crowd-pleasing teamwork. Picture this: You're walking alone when suddenly you feel an unseen force constrict around your throat. You claw at your neck but your hands pass through empty air as Sue Storm's invisible force field crushes your windpipe. As you desperately gasp for breath, you feel more invisible barriers forming - around your head, your chest, inside your body. With cold efficiency, she creates force fields inside your blood vessels, stopping your circulation, and inside your lungs, preventing them from expanding. You can't see your attacker as your oxygen-starved brain shuts down. The last thing you feel is an invisible wall slicing through your body like a ghost blade, cutting you in half at a molecular level. The Invisible Woman has shown why she's considered the most powerful member of the Fantastic Four.Welcome to Monsters, Sharks, and Dinosaards. Today we're exploring the unseen but deadly world of The Invisible Woman, whose powers of invisibility and force field generation make her one of the most formidable heroes - or potentially terrifying killers - in comics.Unlock an ad-free podcast experience with Caloroga Shark Media! In Episode 2 of All the Buried Women, co-hosts Beth Allison Barr and Savannah Locke uncover the turbulent and hidden history of women in the Southern Baptist Convention. The story begins in the 1970s, an era of progress and pushback, and follows the journey of Kathy Hoppe, an ordained woman whose call to ministry intersected with a calculated takeover of the SBC. What happens when conviction collides with politics, and how do women respond when their calling is questioned? This episode reveals the invisible threads tying women's resilience to a denomination shaped by control and conflict. We reached out to the SBC, Paige Patterson, Darryl Gilyard, Tommy Gilmore, and the Council for National Policy for comment, and did not hear back. In 1940, Universal cashed in on the success of their Invisible Man films with a spin-off, The Invisible Woman, which was very much not a horror movie! Instead, we got an extremely slight and forgettable screwball comedy. Now, in 2025, our guest writer/video game narrative designer Stella Sacco has been tasked with creating a new darker, scarier and (if you can believe it) gayer version of The Invisible Woman for our Dark Universe! Our podcast partner for this episode is 52 Pickup, a show about the most important comic of the 21st century, and the greatest series you've never heard of. Studies reveal that 70% of women experience a sense of being overlooked socially and professionally once they hit 50. The term for this phenomenon is Invisible Woman Syndrome. In this episode, I am joined by Christine Morrison, who writes about the social constructs in the fashion, beauty and wellness industry that inform the way society views women, and the way women often feel about themselves as they get older. Christine Morrison's writing has appeared in print and online vehicles such as The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, The Quality Edit and Margot Magazine, among others, and in advertising campaigns for Alastin Skincare, French Connection, Juicy Couture and more. Prior to focusing on writing full-time, Morrison held leadership positions in the fashion and beauty industries, including serving as Global Vice President of Beauty and Apparel Marketing for Calvin Klein. Her forthcoming book, “Clothes Minded: Fashionable Essays About Finding Yourself,” – in which she reflects on the meaning behind, and the humor in, the relationship between her sartorial self and formation of identity – is slated to publish Spring, 2026. EPISODE 282 - We finish our coverage of John Byrne's FF with the issue where Sue Richards changes her name from The Invisible Girl to The Invisible Woman. It's a fine issue that mostly features She-Hulk breaking out of Psycho-Man's fear spell. We also learn the story of Pearla, Queen of the Microverse! We give some closing thoughts on John Byrne. For a good John Byrne issue, and there were many you got: strong confident storytelling, exciting purposeful battles, clearly told stories, a strong command of where your eye goes, and what your heart wants to know. Byrne in the 80s was iconic, truly one of the best and most popular creators in America. The shortcomings: his art starts to get sketchier as he strives to produce more. His faces look... honestly, the same? It's almost strange how that DOESN'T hurt the story telling. He gets more and more about the references. Although funny, he's best when he isn't doing a book which is billed as comedic first and foremost. But for the FF, he revitalized the comic, giving Kirby's creations an often upgraded portrayal. Next season: Peter Milligan's run on The Human Target
