With the first quarter rush easing, this time of year gives us a moment that's rare in business - a natural pause. Personally, I take this time of year as an opportunity to look at my business with fresh eyes by asking myself 5 powerful questions. I encourage my clients to ask themselves these same questions to gain a sense of clarity on where their business is at. So before we dive back into the daily rhythm of client calls and content creation, let's use this breather to ask ourselves five questions that could shift not just how we work, but why we work the way we do.1. Am I Doing the Work I Love? And is it profitable?Let's be honest - not every client project makes your heart sing, but there should be a spark in most of what you do. Take a look at your current projects. Do they energise you, or are you dragging yourself to your desk each morning? The sweet spot is where your passion meets your clients' needs - and yes, your bank account's needs too.Speaking of bank accounts - passion projects are great, but they need to pay the bills. Look at your revenue streams with clear eyes. Which services are actually making you money and which ones are you holding onto because you "should" offer them? Sometimes the most loving thing you can do for your business is to let go of what's not working.2. Are My Client Agreements Up to Date?Your client agreements are like the foundation of your house. You don't think about them until something starts creaking. Take a quick look at yours. Do they still reflect how you actually work? If not, it's time for a chat with your business lawyer to update them.3. Is the Business's Profitability Where It Needs to Be?This goes deeper than just checking your revenue. Look at those sneaky subscriptions you signed up for last year. Review your pricing - are you still charging what you did when you started, even though your expertise has grown? Sometimes the smallest tweaks can make the biggest difference to your bottom line.4. Have I Documented All Handshake Agreements? We all love those exciting conversations that end with a handshake and a "let's do this!" But here's the thing - memories fade, and expectations can shift. Take those verbal agreements and get them in writing. It's not about trust; it's about clarity.5. Have I Got Policies in Place for the Biggest Risks in My IndustryIt's crucial to assess risk management within your business. Do you have policies in place for the biggest risk areas, such as cybersecurity? As vulnerabilities grow, having clear policies and secure contract terms with your contractors becomes essential.I encourage you to use this natural pause to realign, readjust, and maybe even reimagine what's possible for your business in the months ahead. What's one question from this list that resonates most with you right now?LINKS:Sign up for my fortnightly Briefing Notes hereDiscover the Masterclass Series hereCheck Your Legals with the Essential Legal Checklist hereBook a Free 20-minute Initial Consult with me hereJoin me on Instagram here

Episode 173 - Am I Doing a Good Job. In this episode, I, Jennie Dildine, the LDS mission coach, discuss the mindset shift around the question "Am I doing a good job?" I share my personal experiences with self-validation and the human brain's tendency to focus on problems. I emphasize the importance of finding more believable and true thoughts, rather than trying to force positive thinking. I encourage listeners to shift their focus from seeking external validation to recognizing that what they are doing matters, regardless of whether they feel they are doing a good job. I also discuss the importance of self-acceptance, effort, and the process of growth and transformation. I provide listeners with a new free resource, the "Podcast Roadmap," to help navigate the podcast episodes. I encourage listeners to download the freebie, leave a review, and reach out to me if they need support or have questions about the mission experience. It is extremely inconvenient to be tired right now. Relatable? We're talking about that kind of tiredness that isn't neutralised by a sleep-in, where you don't get re-booted from a workout or revived when you just work out you were missing some Vitamin Social Life. We're talking about the kind of tiredness that won't allow itself to be ignored. The kind of tired where it seems that your body shuts down all non-essential systems to the point that you are able to be still and blank. Tiredness is not a problem in itself. When paired with being committed to your commitments, however, it does create significant challenges. On one hand, it's great that you're committed and that you have the discipline to show up regardless of how you feel. On the other hand, to disregard how you feel is a dangerous line to walk or anything but a short-term emergency. Being able to recognise the signals that our bodies send to us is critical for long-term success. Our human bodies have needs that must be met to facilitate health and performance. And how we feel is the mechanism by which our body can communicate this to get our attention. Doctors have, unfortunately, been encouraged to practice emotional suppression making it easier to miss or dismiss the messages. This may appear adaptive in the short term but emotional suppression is, however, a blunt tool by which I mean, we cannot suppress selectively just one feeling but instead, it's all or nothing. When we choose to suppress one emotion, we take the others down with it. And we lose important information about our life direction and our health in the process. In this episode, we are talking through our current real-time experience of managing this tiredness without avoidance, overriding, or denial. And we're meeting our limitations and revealing areas for further work here. We are walking the talk from Episode 1 of Am I Doing it Wrong the podcast! Episode 1 brought forward the question of whether 'balance' was achievable or even the goal for doctors. Instead of balance, we have landed on contrast - allowing alternating times of being over-subscribed and then more free and light. Join us in this episode as we share our struggles, strategies and successes in dealing with our tiredness in a different way. And tell us, how are you feeling? What side of the contrast coin are you on right now? --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/amidoingitwrong/message

(Sponsored by Impressions) This week the 2 Regular Guys will be bringing a special live Thursday night episode from DAX Chicagoland. Aaron, Terry and Erich will be discussing the most common issues decorators grapple with in determining, “Am I'm doing this right?” This show is for all types of decorators who sit and ponder that question. Our regular listeners know this, but 2 Regular Guys are all about garment decorating, a bit of fun, and no rants or lectures or selling. We are not doing this for our employers, but rather for our industry. Since February 2013, The 2 Regular Guys have been the first and the most listened to garment decorating industry podcast on this planet! We are humbled by all of you tuning in each week. We work hard to bring you information that will make your business better, and our industry better. Take a look at our incredible weekly guest list and you'll understand where this industry goes for news, interviews, and the heartbeat of garment decorating. Thanks for listening! Am I Doing the Right? In an effort to help the industry as decorators struggle to find blanks to decorate fellow decorator and expert screen printer, Nathan Leber decided to look for solutions. He said, "In light of the garment shortage and my disbelief that nothing can be done, I made a live Google Sheet that has some of my shops blank inventory on it." The goal is to provide an open Google Sheet that everyone can access to possibly find an item that might not be available at the supplier's locations due to the issues they are facing with containers and cotton shortages. Nathan believes that most shops are like his, where they have a stash of excess inventory where something happened on the job or they misordered. He goes on to say "I know all of the decorators' community has this stuff around their shop and for whatever reason it is just collecting dust when someone could be using it." He is trying to spread the word about this open Google sheet, which you can find at www.bit.ly/stocksheet1. Any decorator can go and add extra inventory they would like to move, and look for and coordinate getting blanks from others. The more people use the list to both buy and sell, the more valuable it will become for the industry as we navigate these difficult times of shortages, unbalanced stock, and shipping problems. Nathan only has two 'asks' of the decorators' community "Please try to keep the formatting clean and NO PRICE GOUGING or I will be forced to delete it from the sheet. Hopefully, we can all help each other out and find some of the garments that we know are sitting in a corner somewhere." To access the spreadsheet and to add your excess inventory www.bit.ly/stocksheet1 Facebook Live Video Be Part of #5Things If you would like to present your 5 Things, five quick points on any subject whether it be advice or five instructional steps, we would love to hear from you.
