In this message, Jordan addresses common misconceptions surrounding singleness, both within and outside of religious contexts. He challenges the idea that being single equates to being behind or a punishment, arguing instead that singleness offers a unique opportunity for holiness and a focused relationship with God. Jordan also debunks the expectation that single individuals should disproportionately dedicate their time to work or ministry, emphasizing their equal need for community and relational investment.
Ever said, “No worries, it's fine,” when it absolutely wasn't fine? Or maybe you've pushed down your needs and shape-shifted into whoever you thought you needed to be in a particular situation. That's not kindness. That's fawning—people-pleasing's sneakier, brain-based cousin. In this episode, neuroscientist and author of Rewire, Nicole Vignola, joins me for a juicy, no-fluff convo about why we fawn, what's going on in the brain when we do it, and how to unhook from this exhausting survival pattern. Nicole shares real talk from her own relationships, where she caught herself over-functioning, then said the magic word: “Enough.” Expect science, self-awareness, and some serious permission to want more. Nicole creates a practical de-fawning practice to help you shift out of appeasement and into enoughness. We kick things off with a little warm-up game I almost edited out… but didn't. Come play enoughness ping pong with us and feel instantly more human. Tune in now. Because “fine” is officially cancelled. Links: Nicole Vignola's website and book. Nicole on Instagram. As a 3/5 Emotional Manifestor with a defined Root Center, an Undefined G Center, and a completely Open Heart, my journey through life is anything but linear. In this episode, I explore how my deep emotional waves, trial-and-reflect process, and powerful drive to initiate all intertwine with my Incarnation Cross of Eden—the quest to find and create my own version of paradise. But with a Root Center that pulses with pressure and a G Center that constantly shifts direction, how do I know when it's the right time to act? How do I differentiate between true clarity and the rush to prove myself or "figure it all out"? I dive into the tension between your Root's push for action and my Emotional Authority's need for patience, uncovering how to recognize when I'm moving from alignment versus external pressure. I explore how my Undefined G Center allows me to evolve fluidly, why my Open Heart means I have nothing to prove, and how embracing my natural trial-and-reflect process leads me to the most aligned path—without forcing the answers. If you've ever felt the tension between wanting to move fast and needing to wait for clarity, this episode will help you navigate that dynamic with more trust, ease, and self-honoring awareness. What if the thing you're most afraid to let go of is the very thing keeping you stuck? In this powerful episode, transformational coach Michelle Gauthier shares her personal story of walking away from a high-achieving, burnout-fueled life to rebuild from the inside out. We talk about how to tune into your body's whispers before they become screams, release perfectionism, reclaim joy, and live a life that feels as good as it looks.
Reinvention often stirs up a storm—self-doubt, not-enoughness, the old habits of perfectionism and overworking. We think we have to earn our way out of stuckness. But what if the answer wasn't in doing more—but in needing less? What if your enoughness was right there in plain sight, but you've been looking for it in the wrong places? This week, I'm joined by the glorious Donna Ashworth: poet, best-selling author, and queen of reinvention. She's been a music industry exec, a magazine journalist, a business owner (of a children's play centre) —and through each chapter, she's rewritten what it means to feel enough. By using her poet's eye, Donna has mastered the art of being easily pleased—finding beauty in the ordinary, and joy in the small. And in doing so, she's removed the pressure to get reinvention “right.” If you've ever felt stuck, lost, or like it's too late to start over… this conversation will feel like a deep exhale. Your enoughness is non-negotiable. Not when you hit your next income goal, not when you lose the weight, not when you get the relationship, not when your following doubles. It's non-negotiable now. Right now. As you are. And if you've been feeling like you're behind, like you should be further, like everyone else is winning and you're still just figuring it out—this is your sign that you're in the exact right room. What if I told you that the reason you feel stuck isn't because you're not capable—it's because you're not grounded in your identity yet.Subscribe to Hustle + Flow

What does it take to lead luxury fashion for two decades—then make an unexpected pivot? My guest this week, celebrated fashion designer Clare Waight Keller, knows first hand. After shaping the vision at Chloé and Givenchy—where she famously created the Duchess of Sussex's wedding dress—Clare stepped away from the Paris catwalk to become Uniqlo's Global Creative Director. In this episode, Clare reveals why this was more than a career shift —it was a statement of intent. With luxury fashion prices soaring 52% since 2020, Clare's new mission is to show that great everyday design can be accessible to everyone, and that in the right hands “fast fashion” can be reimagined as slow fashion.Clare also takes us under the hood of her creative and decision making process—sharing why trusting her instincts is her superpower, why discomfort fuels her best work, and how seeing time as her most precious resource has shaped every decision she's made. We get to the truth behind why there are so few female fashion directors, what it was like to work with the Duchess of Sussex, and why Uniqlo's home-base of Tokyo is her favourite fashion capital yet.Clare Waight Keller is a revered force in fashion, and her journey—rooted in instinct, embracing change and long-term strategic thinking—offers inspiration to anyone forging their own path to just right. If you've ever wanted a peek behind the curtain of design creativity, are curious about how fashion is changing, or to hear from a woman at the top of her game in an industry dominated by men, this one's for you. What actually holds you together when life blindsides you? Maybe it's a breakup. A diagnosis. Or the crushing weight of everything right now. If you're wired for hustle, your first instinct might be to work through it—to push harder, achieve more, be exceptional. What if the answer wasn't in doing more, but in seeing oneself as LESS? Every artist's journey is unique—what works for one won't necessarily work for another. Summary I had the privilege to sit down with Jordan Grumet, author of the brilliant new book The Purpose Code and host of The Earn & Invest Podcast. In this conversation, Jordan shares his journey from being a physician to discovering the importance of purpose in life, particularly in retirement. He discusses the paradox of purpose, the difference between Big P and Little P Purpose, and how societal expectations can lead to anxiety around finding purpose. Jordan emphasises the need to create and build purpose rather than simply searching for it, and highlights the importance of community and connections in achieving fulfillment and happiness. Jordan and I explore the concepts of purpose, identity, and the flawed notion of retirement. We discuss how individuals often strive for external validation through accomplishments, but true fulfillment comes from understanding one's identity and engaging in meaningful activities. Our discussion emphasises the importance of time over money, the impact of little-p purpose in life, and the common regrets people have at the end of their lives. Ultimately, Jordan encourages you to focus on the journey of life rather than the destination, and to seek out what truly lights you up. Key Takeaways Purpose is essential for a fulfilling life, especially in retirement. Big P Purpose can lead to anxiety and frustration. Little P Purpose focuses on the process and is more attainable. Creating purpose involves identifying what lights you up. Community and connections are vital for happiness. People often replace work-based purpose with similar frameworks in retirement. Meaning is about understanding our past, while purpose is about present actions. Happiness comes from both meaning and purpose working together. Investing in personal passions can inspire others, especially children. The journey to enoughness is crucial for finding true fulfillment. We often strive for external validation through accomplishments. True fulfillment comes from understanding our identity. Retirement should be viewed as a journey, not a destination. Time is always more important than money. Money is a tool, but little-p purpose moves the needle. Many people regret not pursuing their true passions. How do you call in courage in the face of paralysing fear? For Rosh Mahtani, the answer lies in Dante Alighieri's The Divine Comedy, the centuries-old poem that fuels her cult jewellery brand, Alighieri, and recently earned her an OBE.In this conversation, Rosh explains how the timeless (and sometimes cheeky) lessons hidden in the text inspired her to rip up the rule book and transform career confusion to creative success. Her designs have become symbols of courage, strength and belonging for a devoted community, including members of The Lion Club—Marcus Rashford, Dina Asher-Smith, and Iris Law, to name a few.Rosh and Melanie talk about the sentence that started it all: “In the middle of the journey of life, I found myself lost in a dark wood, unsure of the right path.” They unpack the importance of being playful while learning, and how the endless pursuit of more unlocked a wildly successful brand, and then inspired charitable giving. Plus, why what “more” looks like for her today is wildly different. Dave Brisbin 12.1.24 Long ago, many people came to seek counsel and wisdom from a great Zen master. One day, a very important man, used to giving commands, came to him, “Teach me about Zen. Open my mind to enlightenment.” The master smiled and said they should discuss the matter over tea. When the tea was ready, he poured and the tea rose to the rim, then overflowed to the table and on to the robes of the man who jumped, “Enough! Can't you see the cup is full?” The master smiled again, “You are like this cup, so full that nothing can be added. Come back to me when the cup is empty. Come back to me with an empty mind.” This is how we all come seeking enlightenment. So full of what is true and false, right and wrong, attractive and repugnant, that nothing gets in as it actually exists in the wild. Automatically transformed into something we think we already understand, everything slips into our premade categories, judged good, bad, beneficial, not. Our cups are full. Epictetus said it is impossible for anyone to learn what they think they already know, and Jesus teaches exactly the same way. His use of paradox—if you want to find your life, lose it; questions as answers—Good master what must I do?...Why do you call me good?; and story—Who is my neighbor?...and he tells about the Good Samaritan; are all meant to empty our cups. Stop our minds in their tracks and disrupt our neat categories, make space for something we haven't considered. Bring us back to beginner's mind, the open, teachable mind of the child that he always holds as a model for jaded adults. When Jesus tells us not to judge, he means it in this most expansive sense. As long as our minds think they know, judging and placing everything we encounter into familiar categories, we will never see what really shares our moments with us. We won't see each detail as it appears, let it amaze and surprise us. We won't smile and send photos to our friends. We won't let this moment be enough and rest in it. We won't feel gratitude for tiny gifts we could never give ourselves. It's all about seeing past our mind's understanding to the perfect enoughness of each imperfect moment.

How did Josh Connolly flip his script from addiction to sobriety, football violence to self-expression, and low self-worth to helping other men find emotional resilience? In this conversation, Josh shares the impact of having an alcoholic father, and why he wrote his taboo-busting book It's Them, Not You about managing difficult family relationships by prioritizing yourself. We explore how unmet childhood needs shape our sense of safety and why learning to feel and trust emotions in the body—not rationalizing them in our mind (guilty!) —helps us better connect with who we truly are. Josh is a resilience coach, breathwork facilitator, community builder and passionate ambassador for NACOA, the National Association for Children of Alcoholics. By sharing the impact of addiction on his childhood, and his own recovery from addiction and low self-worth, he helps thousands of men lean into their emotions and find community. Plus, we discuss The Laundry List, the traits common to children of alcoholics and share the little daily anchors that keep us in our sweet spot for everyday happiness… Oh, and we discover why Josh checks his bin every day… Josh's book, It's Them, Not You – How to Break Free from Toxic Parents and Reclaim Your Story, is out now. SummaryIn a world dominated by a striving for endless growth, it can be hard to see that while a drive towards money and individualism is great for the economy, it is fundamentally destructive for humanity, community & ecology. This conversation tackles us relearning our ability to grow our environment with each other & to meet our own needs rather than outsourcing to those who will make the divisions based on profit. It asks us to opt for less transactions & more relationships, it addresses the epidemic of loneliness and it settles on the idea that a little bit of debt is a good thing - relational debt that is.The time to navigate difficult & complex divisions to make us anti fragile is now but it requires us to heal our hurt hearts so we can do the work we need to do in our current system. Welcome to today's episode of Shrink for the Shy Guy! You are brave for clicking on this one because today we're tackling the gruesome three—failure, rejection, and not-enoughness. As we approach Halloween, it's time for some real horror stories—those emotions we avoid like the plague, yet they shape so much of our lives. Forget the bat-like creatures from horror movies; the fear of failure, rejection, and feeling like you're not enough are way scarier and far more avoided. But you're here, and that's already a bold step. This episode will shed light on these dreaded feelings, helping you realize that you're not alone and that the experience isn't as terrible as it seems when we look at it together. We're diving deep into how personalizing these feelings makes them so much worse and how to shift your perspective to make them more manageable. These emotions—failure, rejection, and not-enoughness—are what hold so many of us back from living the life we truly want. The good news? They don't have to. Let's dig into these feelings, challenge them, and see what's really going on beneath the surface. Thanks for joining me on this brave journey! Visit DrAziz.com to learn more and register for my upcoming virtual event, End Social Anxiety Now. ------------------------------------------------ You're brave. You clicked on this episode, even though the title probably made you wince: Failure, Rejection, and Not Enoughness. These aren't just abstract concepts; they're feelings we all try to avoid. But if you're listening today, that means you're ready to face them, and that takes courage.Halloween might be around the corner, but forget about spooky movies with bat-like creatures jumping out to scare you. The real horror? Facing failure, rejection, and that sinking feeling of not being enough. People will line up to watch a horror movie, but when it comes to willingly diving into their fears of failure or rejection, that's a different story. So, let's dive into these “Gruesome Three.” By the end of this post, you'll not only understand why they have such a hold over you, but also how to soften their grip and start living more freely. When Was the Last Time You Felt One of These? For many, it's probably quite recent. Maybe it's happening right now as you're reading this. These feelings don't need dramatic events to show up. You can feel like a failure just by not checking off everything on your to-do list. Rejection can come from someone taking too long to text you back. And not enoughness? That can hit just from looking in the mirror. For some, these feelings come and go, but for others, they can be a constant, suffocating presence. I know, because I lived there. When I had severe social anxiety, it was like living in a soup of failure, rejection, and not enoughness. And the worst part? The more I avoided those feelings, the more power they gained. The Insanity of Avoidance Most people's unspoken life plan is to avoid failure, rejection, and the feeling of not being enough. Seems logical, right? But here's the catch: these feelings find a way to creep back in. Even if you don't get rejected by someone because you avoid social situations, that feeling of not being enough might sneak in when you see someone else confidently talking to others. So we think, “Well, if I avoid these feelings, I'll be fine.” But avoidance isn't freedom. It's a life lived in fear. The Insane Setup We Create We've set ourselves up with impossible expectations: Every action I take should go exactly as I want. Every person I interact with should respond the way I want them to. If not, I'm a failure and I need to feel awful about myself. It's an insane setup. We're demanding perfection from ourselves and others, and when that doesn't happen, we slide down into a pit of shame and self-criticism. But here's the key: it doesn't have to be that way. A New Way Forward Instead of avoiding these feelings or allowing them to tear us down, what if we approached them differently? What if we didn't personalize every failure, rejection, or moment of not enoughness? What if we saw them as part of the human experience, something that doesn't define our worth? Here's a shift you can start making today: the action is the win. The fact that you're putting yourself out there, trying something, speaking up—that's the victory. Whether or not it turns out the way you want doesn't define your success.Zoom out. Look at the bigger picture of your life. Failure, rejection, and not enoughness are momentary blips in a much larger process of growth and learning. Your Action Step: Who's Making You Feel Not Enough? Here's the big question for today: Who's making you feel not enough? We tend to think these feelings just happen to us, like rain falling from the sky. But that's not true. These feelings come from patterns of thinking that we've been practicing, often without even realizing it. You have the power to change those patterns. So the next time you feel that sting of not being enough, ask yourself: Who's doing this? How am I creating this feeling? This simple awareness can start to unravel the grip these feelings have over you. Reclaim Your Power Failure, rejection, and not enoughness don't have to be terrifying, all-consuming monsters. By understanding them, seeing their roots, and changing your perspective, you can reclaim your power and live more freely.Until we speak again, remember: you are enough, just as you are. And you have the courage to create the life you want.If you want to dive deeper into breaking free from these patterns, join me for my upcoming virtual event. We're going to deconstruct rejection and give you tools to handle it in a whole new way. Head over to draziz.com to register. Let's replace that acid pit with a trampoline that bounces you right back into life!

Join hosts Bill and Jackie as they delve into a profound conversation with Vicki Robin, co-author of 'Your Money or Your Life.' Vicki discusses the concept of 'enoughness' as a spiritual practice and the fulfillment curve, offering insights into how recognizing enough can lead to a more satisfying life. The dialogue covers financial independence, the impact of societal norms, aging, and the emotional aspects of letting go. Explore Vicki's unique perspective on how living simply and investing in community can transform our lives and the world around us. This episode is a rich tapestry of wisdom for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of life's true value.
Negative body image is something that so many of us struggle with – regardless of our nationality, age, or background. It almost seems to be part of the human condition, something that is innate to our journey here on Earth. But is it, really? While not liking our body – or constantly trying to achieve a certain weight or shape – is ubiquitous around the world, the truth is that is NOT a natural, normal part of being alive. Our beliefs around body image and beauty are instead ingrained from us at a young age. We were, quite literally, taught to believe that beauty looks a certain way, and that we must do everything we can to attain this beauty … or else. Depending on our culture, family, and childhood, the beauty ideals we grew up with might be different from other people. But regardless, these ideals have a very similar effect on us: they cause massive low self-esteem throughout adulthood, until we recognize and release them. That's what we explore in this episode, where we meet Sharon, 32, who has been trying to lose about 15 pounds – but can't figure out why she's unable to fully commit to her diet and exercise. Growing up in Chinese culture, Sharon learned from watching Chinese beauty pageants on TV that to be thin and light was beautiful. She was mesmerized by the beauty contestants, and imagined herself one day being as pretty and elegant as they were. Her parents and community also echoed this value, and her weight fluctuations were frequently a topic of conversation. All of this was even more confusing to Sharon because, in Chinese culture, sharing food is a way of sharing love. Her dad was an amazing chef and made delicious food – and she was encouraged to relish it, just not too much of it. Now as an adult, Sharon understandably has a lot of conflicted feelings about food and her body. She finds herself still wanting to achieve the ideal body, the one she dreamed of as a little girl. But that thin, lythe body always feels just out of reach – no matter how hard she tries to diet or get to the gym. Sharon just can't quite get herself to consistently do the things that she thinks would help her lose weight – and she's wondering what to do. So in this episode, Marc David, founder of the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, explores: ✅ The keys to recognizing childhood conditioning around body image – and how to begin to let it go. ✅ Why the belief, “I'm not good enough,” will almost always derail our weight loss efforts. ✅ Weight loss as an emotional, non-linear type of goal, and why this matters in the weight loss journey. ✅ Learning to approach weight loss from a place of inspiration and self-love. No matter where we're from or what our background is, almost all of us have been taught certain beliefs around weight and beauty. But as this episode demonstrates, we don't have to keep feeding these beliefs. We get to choose which beliefs we want to embrace – and one of the most important beliefs about ourselves we can ever choose is, “I love myself. I am enough.” Enjoy this powerful episode! --------------- Learn more about us at The Institute for the Psychology of Eating: https://psychologyofeating.com/ Ready to call a ceasefire in your battle with eating, and find peace and freedom with food? A woman with a disease diagnosis is frightened and volunteers to do The Work. Her belief is "this should go away". We can do this with just about anything. Who are we without our panicked story about an ailment showing up in our bodies? In person retreat in Seattle is coming! August 20-24, 2024. Learn more here: https://www.workwithgrace.com/summer-retreat/ Grace Bell, facilitator of The Work, assists people to identify and question their stressful ways of looking at life. She offers Year of Inquiry, a vibrant membership community of inquirers Sept-June each year. Grace also has a special love for those suffering from eating issues including disordered eating (disordered thinking) of all kinds--having suffered from this behavior and thought/feeling process herself and finding an unshakable peace within around eating, food, health and behaviors with eating. Grace works with all kinds of compulsions, habits and addictions as they are all the same thing: a pull to some behavior, substance or activity in order to help us with our stressful feelings and thoughts. As Byron Katie offers us (founder of The Work); when we believe what we think, it creates unnecessary suffering. When we question what we think, we feel lighter and less serious about what is. We even begin to laugh. We notice who we really are is peaceful already, a human being living life as best we can--learning, growing, loving. In the public sessions on this youtube channel, we have all-group inquiry sessions called First Friday Inquiry, we have interviews with practitioners of The Work, we have Eating Peace videos (on the eating peace playlist) and we have individual sessions in The Work by courageous people willing to be recorded for Peace Talk podcast and this channel. Thanks to everyone involved in what is shared here on this channel, as it is great service to others in the world who find their way here and who are curious about life without "believing" thought all the time. In all-group sessions and solo sessions, we begin with a judgment...and move into the four questions and turnarounds. Willingness to be real and honest with your thinking is the first powerful step in The Work. No one ever has to share when attending Friday Inquiry, and thank you when you do.
