Key Takeaways: Understanding Stagflation: Stagflation consists of slow economic growth paired with high inflation, affecting sectors and individuals differently. Deflation vs. Inflation: Deflation involves falling prices, often due to technological efficiency or reduced demand. Inflation, on the other hand, can stem from economic growth or excessive money printing. Economic Adaptation: Investing in innovative sectors and maintaining up-to-date skills can help individuals navigate challenging economic conditions. Government Debt Management: Highlighting the government's approach to stabilizing debt relative to the economy by increasing the money supply. Belief Systems in Economics: Individual economic outcomes often reflect one's belief systems, influenced by various information sources. Jordan Roy-Byrne, Founder and Editor of The Daily Gold, joins us to outline a slightly different outlook on how the inflationary or deflationary steeping of the bond yield curve, or seeing both back to back, could affect US general equities, commodities, and the precious metals markets.     There is a scenario where there could be a stickier inflationary period that sends markets and commodities and gold and silver up together, before the deflationary period of economic contraction and market corrective action begins.  It is also significant to note that gold closed last month and quarter above key $1900 support, which is quite constructive considering the stronger general US equity markets paired with rising interest rates recently.  This seems to point to a market sniffing out that inflation will be sticking around even after the Fed finishes their rate hiking cycle, and this may be the fuel to send the yellow metal up to new all-time highs.   Click here to visit Jordan's website – The Daily Gold.

In today's Creating Wealth Show, Jason Hartman talks to Yahoo Finance's Jeff Macke about the impact of changing technologies, the perception of Doomsday skepticism and what underemployment means for those seeking jobs and those hiring. Macke also ways in on the inflation/deflation debate and discusses some of the points raised in his book Clash of the Financial Pundits.  Key Takeaways 01:15 We want to hear your opinions and thoughts on the show, so be sure to leave a review on iTunes or Stitcher Radio.  07:00 To have your questions answered on the show, just sign up for an appointment at www.JasonHartman.com/Jason 08:40 Jason Hartman runs through the schedule for the Birmingham Property Tour on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd November 2014. 11:30 There is some disparity between what the press makes us believe and the reality of the economy. 14:53 New technology combined with human resources can lead to an end to such extreme inefficiency. 18:03 Underemployment is a tricky issue when we have so many graduates with massive student debt who still can't get a job. 22:29 How many jobs will this new technology end up replacing?  25:27 It's easy to criticize and bet on the Doomsday ending, but it's a lousy bet.  27:57 Jeff Macke gives his opinion on the future in terms of inflation or deflation.  31:56 There are two real ways of making money as a pundit: make other people money or just scare them. 33:13 The gold-bugs focus so much on the math, but it's just not all about math. Today, we're going to be talking about inflation, deflation, stagflation, and what it all means. Inflation has been the topic of everyone's conversation recently. In simple terms, inflation is caused by the overstimulation of the economy through the government printing of money. What is going on in the marketplace? The Dow Jones keeps dropping, bonds are getting crucified, the real estate market is coming down fast… We are seeing similarities to the 2008 overstimulated housing market, but this time it's in multiple asset classes – housing, bonds, equities, crypto, these areas have doubled, tripled, or even quadrupled in the last 5 years or so. That is an over-appreciating, overstimulated asset with too much cash being thrown at a limited supply.

And that means less competition for tenants which means good news for home investors! And don't make the mistake of using the 'plandemic' years as a benchmark when reading the chart! That was an anomaly; a fluke!  He also talks about how renters' income not catching up to housing costs, the slowing down of the apartment market, REITs or Real Estate Investment Trust and much more! Euch weiterhin viel Erfolg. Euer Dozent Thomas G. Montag

Inflation is making headlines and attention is directed towards government statistics like the consumer price index, or CPI, which is calculated using a basket of consumers goods. However these metrics don't fully represent inflation in respect to the devaluation of our currency. In recent years the gap between the global rich and poor has been widening. The top 1% of high net worth individuals now control 47% of global wealth while the bottom two thirds of the population control just 3%. The advent of the internet has meant that businesses can scale and wealth can be created faster than ever. But wealthy individuals, for the most part, are investing their funds rather than making material purchases. That money sits in real estate, stocks, financial products and inevitably a spreadsheet. As wealth concentrates down to fewer individuals, who spend less as a percentage of their wealth, it takes money out of circulation. This creates a distorted economic impact where assets are increasing in value much faster than consumer goods. The billionaire next door probably doesn't spend significantly more on items that form the consumer price index basket of goods. The coronavirus pandemic was the biggest shock to the global markets for a generation. Entire economies shut down while people stayed at home in lock down. Yet the stock market traded at all time highs. This is because governments across the world are increasing monetary supply at an astonishing rate never seen before in history. The vast majority of this newly printed money finds its way in to financial markets to support the economy. This causes asset prices like stocks to increase which benefits those who are invested creating a scenario of the rich getting richer and a vicious circle of inequality. It's clear investments have become more expensive but are assets increasing in value or is the value of our currency decreasing? I believe that wealth concentration is having a deflationary effect causing real inflation to be far higher than advertised by government statistics. Central banks can't increase interest rates to slow down inflation without hurting the economy. I'm not sure how this plays out or what we can do to make things better but to me it doesn't feel like this isn't sustainable. Instead, it's about conditions that favor an “accident” in the market.  Michael believes there are certain relationships which have commonality, in terms of interest rate sensitivity, that tend to get ahead of major black swan events. There are three indicators that Michael looks for ahead of crashes, corrections, and bear markets. First, utilities relative to the stock market.  If utilities outperform the stock market, on a short-term basis, generally you see a rise in volatility.  Next, lumber relative to gold.  When lumber is weak relative to gold, you tend to see higher volatility.  And third, long-duration treasuries relative to intermediate. Ultimately, these three indicators are all about interest rates.   Connect with Michael A. "deflation is the natural order of a productive economy. If we were using a hard money standard like gold, for example, we would expect products to get cheaper over time relative to the value of our golden money, thanks to technological and productivity improvements over time, which make them cheaper relative to the number of labor hours required to produce them.” - Lyn Alden Concluding the amazing breakdown of the current macroeconomic conditions of the dollar, how much money is actually being injected into the system, and what inflationary/deflationary forces are at play to make sense of what out monetary future holds. "Quantitative easing (QE) occurs when central banks, such as the U.S. Federal Reserve, create new money to buy government bonds or other securities. Some people fear that it will cause high inflation or even hyper-inflation and that it is essentially money-printing, while others suggest that it has no impact on inflation because the money that is newly-created or “printed” gets locked away... Based on history and math, the inflationary side of the argument is eventually correct, but with a lot of nuance along the way." - Lyn Alden Another amazing piece from Lyn Alden breaking down & "steel manning" the concepts of QE & MMT. How they claim to work in theory and when they are/are not “money printing” and what their major failures are. This is a great one for making sense of the macroeconomic situation and trying to wrap your head around some of these very vague and often purposefully obscure concepts around monetary policy to get down to the truth behind what's happening.
