Foam celebrates Amsterdam Pride 2022 by promoting a discussion around Queer history and delving deep on its local archives. The talk features Anton Shebetko (Ukraine, 1990) and Karol Radziszewski (Poland, 1980), artists who have striven to retrace and document the lives of queer communities in Eastern Europe. Hosted by Curator Jim van Geel, they will reflect on how mediums such as photography have created a path to access previously unrecorded moments of joy, passion and defiance. They will also share how they have creatively addressed historical gaps and continue to chronicle the lives of their communities amidst erasure and exile. • Anton Shebetko (1990, Ukraine) is an artist and photographer based in Amsterdam. He works closely with LGBTQ-related topics, themes of memory, loss of identity, violence and the possible role of photography in it. His extended research deals with forgotten queer history of his native Ukraine, politics of erasure queer people from national memory and their invisibility in the present day. Karol Radziszewski (1980, Poland) is a multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker and curator. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 2004, he is now publisher and editor-in-chief of DIK Fagazine and founder of the Queer Archives Institute. His multidisciplinary research, as well as his archive-based methodology, crosses multiple cultural, historical, religious, social and gender references. Jim van Geel is Coordinator Public Program at the Rijksacademie and Curator of Public Program at the the young design museum in Den Bosch. Previously he worked as Curator of Public Program at ILHIA LGBTI Heritage, Europe's Largest LGBTQI+ archive based in Amsterdam.

Could life be any crazier? Hurricane/Tropical Storm Henri tried to take down the East Coast (we survived). Cuomo's done! The game within a game was revealed and then we get a cliffhanger? Drag Race Holland's Snatch Game happened on Episode 3! Thank goodness we had the fine company of Nutella Versace - “Donatella's long lost Versace cousin” in the house to give us all the sass and help us understand all the Whos and Theys that Holland has to offer. Nutella just had a lovely Amsterdam Pride marching and returning to Pride's purpose (a riot) while flirting with the likes of famous Dutch author and TV personality Splinter Chabot. We also learned about Holy Brunch with Miss Patty Pam Pam & friends, which is still slayyyyying the game at the Koepelkerk, a unique 17th-century domed monument/ old church that is now an event space for the Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel. The show features a lot of Drag Race Holland queens as well as high-caliber local queens. And, since Nutella just WON the Snatch Game at the Cuniligus Show at Boom Chicago, who better to join us as we dissect Drag Race's hardest challenge and search for a sense of humor and wit.  All Stars 6:  The anticlimatic cliffhanger? Zo'n beetje de hele Amsterdam Pride, een van de grootste evenementen van ons land, gaat niet door. Er was een Black Pride demonstratie op het Museumplein, maar dat was het wel zo ongeveer. Dat is erg spijtig. De botenparade gaan we ook missen. In deze aflevering vertellen we waarom. We zaten in een zonovergoten Vondelpark, in het prachtige VondelCS, te gast in de serie Podcast & Chill. The Wonder Twins are stretched across the world, as James is still over in Europe, and Nnekay is holding it down in the Bay, and they're trying to get a hold of each other for this weeks episode! James gives Nnekay a very long ramble about his misadventures in Amsterdam and Barcelona. James has mostly been away from current events but has peaked his head in to see #boycottmulan, and the racist in chief and his usual shenanigans. Also sadly two Pulse shooting survivors have become loud, outspoken, ex-gay activist. Also he's somehow managed to squeeze in quite a few Netflix series and they're is some good stuff floating around out there! We zijn er weer. Ype ging naar Duitsland, Botte naar de tandarts en samen waren ze op Milkshake. Een korte evaluatie, met aandacht voor dixies. Verder veel Pride-gerelateerde zaken, een hele mooie Earl Grey, dieren zijn queer, varkens in nood, Hitler in de ruimte en bang worden uit het niets. Waarom vinden we zo weinig HvA’ers terug op demonstraties? Maakt het ze niet uit dat er op hoger onderwijs wordt bezuinigd? Ict-student Gavier Koningsbloem vertelt dat hij het een beetje te druk heeft om te demonstreren. Lisa de Lange van Asva Studentenunie legt uit wat je kunt doen als je gaat demonstreren en Henk Strikkers van universiteitsmedium Folia vertelt hoe het er op de Universiteit van Amsterdam aan toegaat. Verder is er veel discussie over een HvA-boot op de Amsterdam Pride, gaan honderden HvA’ers dit weekend meedoen aan de Dam tot Damloop en praten we met toekomstige leraren over pestgedrag.
