Nithya Raman is running for Los Angeles City Council. Her resume is bonkers. She worked in the slums of India. She helped to start the SELAH Neighborhood Homeless Coalition. She was Co-Chair of the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council’s Homelessness Committee. She was Executive Director of Time’s Up Entertainment. She has a degree from Harvard and a Masters in urban planning from MIT. Josh Androsky is Nithya’s Comm’s Director and is a high school dropout, but a hilarious writer and stand-up comic. He’s just a sexy boy. But he’s not your boy toy. You'll probably share this with someone you love.

On today's show, it’s Back to the Garden, the Spring Planting Edition, in which we spend the hour answering your questions about gardening, and considering the horticultural challenges of Maryland's unsually warm, wet spring.Worldwide, 90% of people spend 22 hours a day inside, but at least there’s more natural life inside with them. According to Garden Reasearch.com, 30% of American households purchased a houseplant last year. Pinterest reports that inquiries about indoor plants are up 90%. Whether your garden is in your kitchen, or a pot on a balcony, or a field of dreams, two expert local growers join Tom in Studio A to help us make whatever we’re growing, grow better. Denzel Mitchell is the manager at Strength to Love 2 Farm, a 1-u189u acre workforce training farm in Sandtown-Winchester, which is part of Intersection of Change, a faith-based community development organization.Elisa Lane is the co-owner, with her husband Doron, of Two Boots Farm, a commercial farm and floral-design studio in Hampstead that grows both cut flowers and produce…Later in the program, we're joined on the line by Michael Andorsky, a Baltimore City Master Gardener and an expert on bees, butterflies and other important pollinators -- which include many of the species a new UN report warns are at increased risk of extinction. Mr. Androsky suggests some easy ways to make our gardens more pollinator-friendly.What’s on your mind as the 2019 gardening season kicks into high gear?

Hot dang, it's another installment of Jam Sandwich, babies! We've gotsa real juicy one for youse guys today. In the world of podcasting there's dream guests and then there's Josh Androsky. What can I say, I love to butter this beautiful man up! I've known this sweet prince for several years now and whenever our paths cross both laughs and consensual kisses are shared. He wanted to listen to Brian Eno's 1973 masterpiece Here Come The Warm Jets and I couldn't have been more on board. Surprisingly enough, we manage to stay pretty much on topic for a majority of the episode, aside from getting off track almost immediately. It does end up turning into a discussion of "great morning songs" towards the end. I also talk about my wife's gazungas. Look, I could go on and on but just know that Josh is one of my spiritual brothers and our energies are synced up which makes for great conversation. Dig in!  For more Josh goodness, follow him on twitter and instagram at @shutupandrosky. If you're in LA and would like to get involved with DSA Los Angeles (of which Josh is a co-chair) follow them on twitter at @DSA_LosAngeles, gather some more information and make change happen.  If you enjoyed this episode and would like additional servings of Jam Sandwiches, go find the buffet of pleasure I've laid around the web at these various locations: jamsandwichpodcast.com || manontop69.com || Twitter: @jamsandwichpod || Instagram: @jamsandwichpodcast

My Dining Room Table with Adam Cayton-Holland

And so we conclude My Dining Room Table. Will I randomly put out an episode when I feel like it, when I have a really good interview to share with the world? Perhaps. Will I do this podcast live at festivals if asked? Probably. Those are fun. But for now, and most likely, forever, this is the last episode of My Dining Room Table, live from the High Plains Comedy Festival. Thanks for listening, everyone. It really has meant a lot to me.
