Today we are continuing our conversation around friendship with an emphasis on boundaries, unhealthy friendships, and where counseling and coaching come in throughout the seasons of life. Every healthy leader has good friends. Our personal friendships help us sustain our integrity over the long-haul of life, so, it's worth spending two full episodes to unpack the healthy and unhealthy elements of friendship. Terra Mattson, co-host of the podcast and co-founder of Living Wholehearted, has a candid conversation with one of the Living Wholehearted Executive Coaches, Connie Armerding, about friendship; what it is and what it is not. Connie and Tera were friends before working together at Living Wholehearted, and they have genuine insights to offer about the myths that run interference, particularly with female leaders, and how we can move toward building healthy friendships.    Terra Mattson is co-founder of Living Wholehearted, a professional counseling, executive coaching, and organizational development firm outside Portland, Oregon, helping leaders live and lead with integrity. She is also the founder and executive director of the non-profit Courageous Girls.  She is co-author of Shrinking the Integrity Gap: Between What Leaders Preach and Live, and Courageous: Being Daughters Rooted in Grace, where she talks extensively about friendship (learn more at livingwholehearted.com  mycourageousgirls.com). Most of you listening this month are probably women, but if you are a man, don't turn this episode off! You will better understand your colleagues and bosses, your sisters and your wife, and be better equipped to raise healthy daughters if you keep listening this month!   Terra is excited to have Living Wholehearted teammates, Audra Mahoney, MA LPC Associate and Connie Armerding, MA on the podcast. Audra and Connie are both female leaders who walk with leaders and understand the unique challenges women face in both the home and workplace as they trust God to live out of the call on their life. In episode 120, these three women talk about the reality of juggling motherhood, marriage, and their responsibilities. They share about their own journey toward understanding healthy leadership as well as the common lies they have faced (and are facing) as they shrink their own integrity gaps.     Audra Mahoney has a Masters in Professional Counseling. She has worked in as a Child Protective Services Social Worker and she received certified training in domestic violence, substance abuse, child abuse, and addiction and taught human sexuality courses at a NW college. She is a certified Mending the Soul facilitator, passionate about spiritual formation, and one of our faithful counselors at LW. She is also a speaker and an ordained minister with the Foursquare Church and has served on the National Cabinet and Divisional Council Boards.
