Who's ready for some peace in your parenting world? Liza's guest is Iris Chen, author of Untigering: Peaceful Parenting for the Deconstructing Tiger Parent. Iris Chen is a peaceful parenting advocate, unschooler, and founder of the Untigering movement. She started out as an authoritarian tiger mom whose goal was to raise obedient and high-achieving children. When her attempts to control and mold them only led to constant tantrums and never-ending conflict, she knew something needed to change… and it wasn't her children. Through her writing and speaking, Iris now shares her journey of healing and shifting from power-over to power-with in her relationship with her children. Her mission is to inspire and support others to make the shift, especially among Asian communities. In this episode, Liza and Iris unpack the healing benefits of Peaceful Parenting, Unschooling and the transformational process involved in healing ourselves through our parenting journeys. Untigering is a movement that strengthens the foundation of families today. Our best intentions don't always land the way we hoped. Everyone has their own language and each word and action carries a different energetic weight for everyone. So how do we ensure our best intentions don't get crushed under the weight of a painful impact? Today, I'll explain subtle ways we can become more aware of how we communicate verbally, through body language and energetically - all of which have the power to make others feel. And all, even with the best intentions, can have a far greater impact than we realize - positively or negatively. In this episode, we're talking about: The difference between intent and impact The three types of communication: verbal, body & energetic Why authenticity and integrity are attractive The myth that you can't “make” someone feel something Emotional contagion and mirror neurons (the science of how we're affected by others) The three degrees of influence   Please listen and let me know how this impacts you. Every time we betray our true self in order to please someone else, we abandon a small part of us. Every time we say “yes” when we really mean “no,” or ignore our own needs, or cling to a toxic relationship for fear of hurting their feelings, we give up another small part of our authentic self.  Slowly, those small parts add up to a gaping hole that can irreparably damage our relationships with others and ourselves. So today, we're talking about noticing the signs of self-abandonment and how to confidently balance the healthy compromises (required for relationships to work) while showing up in the world as nothing but your most authentic, genuine self. In this episode, we're talking about: How to effectively compromise, without self-betrayal How people pleasing leads to self-abandonment The importance of setting boundaries Conscious incompetence Building self worth and appreciating yourself The dangerous cycle of people pleasing and self-abandonment The attractiveness of integrity and authenticity   Do you struggle with staying true to yourself? Success takes work. In this episode, hosts Kevin Palmieri and Alan Lazaros talk about the sense of entitlement to happiness that some people have. They explain it as the mentality that you are entitled to enormous rewards with little effort or without wading through the mud. They explain how, even though we deserve a good quality of life, we need to put in a lot of effort over time to receive enormous rewards. They say that we shouldn't complain about our lives if we haven't attempted to improve them and shouldn't waste our time complaining. They explain that we must endure the challenges we encounter on the way to our goals to confidently claim that we deserve success once we have achieved them.Links mentioned:Next Level Group Coaching - https://nextleveluniverse.com/group-coaching/Next Level Web Solutions - https://www.nextleveluniverse.com/next-level-web-solutions/_______________________Website

Let's be real; there aren't many people in this world who would choose to be lonely. We, as human beings, thrive off our interactions and connections with others. We often don't do well alone. Some fear it so much they settle and keep people that don't deserve a spot in their life hanging around. But, Is being unhappy with an individual emotionally and mentally better than just learning how to be comfortable with just YOU? In this episode, hosts Kevin Palmieri and Alan Lazaros talk about the one thing you need to realize about being alone: it isn't bad. In fact, it can be the best time for self-discovery. You discover things you never even knew about yourself. You learn not to accept the disrespect and abuse you maybe once did. One of the best things you can do for yourself is to learn who you are. That often requires you to concentrate on just yourself.Links mentioned:Join Next Level Nation: https://www.facebook.com/groups/459320958216700To learn more about group coaching: https://nextleveluniverse.com/group-coaching/_______________________Website

Are you spreading yourself too thin with so many commitments? Are you afraid to offend someone when you say ‘no' or pivot on a decision to meet someone or attend an event? In this episode, hosts Kevin Palmieri and Alan Lazaros talk about setting boundaries and saying ‘no' to others so you can say ‘yes' to yourself. They share that sometimes we find ourselves in a situation where we have to make a choice, and if you have to choose yourself and say ‘no,' don't feel guilty about it. They also add that we should decide what fills our cup and not allow other people to make us feel bad about our boundaries.Links mentioned:Next Level U Book Club - https://www.nextleveluniverse.com/next-level-book-club/Next Level Nation - https://www.facebook.com/groups/459320958216700 Next Level Group Coaching - https://nextleveluniverse.com/group-coaching/_______________________Website
