Big Idea: Faith fuels boldness by the Spirit to proclaim the name of Jesus. 1. (v.1-4)The Spirit gives boldness… in the face of opposition 2. (v. 5-22)The Spirit gives boldness… no matter your station 3 (v.23-31) The Spirt gives boldness to…pray for more boldness  Discussion Questions 1. How have you seen God use opposition in your own life—to advance the gospel? 2. Why is the exclusivity of Jesus still a stumbling block today, and how can we communicate this truth with both conviction and compassion? 3. Where do you feel least qualified to speak about Christ, and how does the Spirit's filling (4:8, 31) reshape that sense of inadequacy? 4. What might change in our prayers—and our expectations—if we prioritized bold witness over comfort or security?

Let’s Change the World Faith Under Fire Acts 25:1-22 4 Inspiring Truths about Faith under fire: Authentic faith stays alive even under the threat of death (v. 1-3). Authentic faith stands strong even under vicious vilification (v. 4-8). Authentic faith seeks truth in a world full of lies (v. 9-12). Authentic faith soars bravely in the face of fear (v. 13-22). What is a soundtrack? A soundtrack is a repetitive thought. You have a sound track for every part of your life. Culture is a collection of soundtracks playing consistently at a company. Great thoughts lead to great actions. Great actions lead to great results. 3 ways to replace ungodly sound tracks with biblical ones. 1. Retire broken sounds tracks— 2. Replace them with new soundtracks— 3. Repeat until automatic— Today’s Big Idea: Faith under fire glows brighter as you focus on Jesus. Action Steps (Applications): Pre-decide to be a person of authentic truth: To tell the truth, to live the truth, and to avoid spread half-truths (gossip, rumors). Replace the old, negative soundtracks in your life with the new, life giving sound tracks found in God’s Word. Take off those dirty cloths and start wearing your new clothes in Christ! Preview for next week: Read Acts 26.

Believe and Build Your FaithHow do you decide what to believe? Is there any place for doubt in the Christian’s life? And what can we do when we find our faith mingled with a touch of unbelief? This week we begin looking at FAITH, one of the marks of the Master we seek to imitate in our Cross Training to be like him. In this week’s Like the Master story, we imagine the incredulous tone of Jesus’ voice as he repeats three words from a frightened man. Then we give our Favorite Things for helping build belief, offering a few resources and approaches to apologetics that have helped us.The Big Idea: Faith changes our perception of life, the future, and realities beyond our sight.Weekly Challenges: Find this week’s Through the Week challenges here.Show NotesCross Training - “We Interrupt Our Program” (DAILY DOWNLOAD)Cross Training - Through the Week Challenges - Week 5Like the Teacher: Mark 9:14-29 (VERSE)Is it Reasonable to Believe in God in this Scientific Age? 2020 Vision (Part 4) Speaker: Pastor Patrick Kelley Originally Recorded: Mar 24, 2019 Spiritual Journey: 1. Seek the Lord about what sacrifice looks like for you and your family. (over and above our tithes and offerings) 2. Listen to what God speaks 3. Obey what God has said. Luke 5:17 On one of those days, as he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with him to heal. The religious (those who looked like they had it all together) want to be near Jesus because it looks good, but that don’t want to live under His Lordship. Luke 5:18-19 And behold, some men were bringing on a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they were seeking to bring him in and lay him before Jesus, but finding no way to bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down with his bed through the tiles into the midst before Jesus. The crowds back was turned away from the one who needed a touch. Faith doesn’t accept the first NO Luke 5:20-26 And when he saw their faith, he said, "Man, your sins are forgiven you." And the scribes and the Pharisees began to question, saying, "Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?" When Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answered them, "Why do you question in your hearts? Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Rise and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins" —he said to the man who was paralyzed— "I say to you, rise, pick up your bed and go home." And immediately he rose up before them and picked up what he had been lying on and went home, glorifying God. And amazement seized them all, and they glorified God and were filled with awe, saying, "We have seen extraordinary things today." Our heart should be to help someone else receive their miracle. Big Idea: Faith is the currency of heaven.

LIVING BEYOND IMPOSSIBLE SERIES BIO:  The Biblical narrative implies that a normal relationship with God includes miracle interventions. This is promised through Jesus' teachings, creating a vision that "all things are possible" to those who walk with God. If the miraculous, rising above even impossible situations, is the normative for the Christian, then how are we to activate such realities? How are we to encounter God, live in greater freedom and see Bible-level miracles happen for us? This Sunday we begin a several week series of teachings that will inspire, impact and infuse God's great heart of hope.    MATTHEW 17:20 NKJV [Jesus said] …for assuredly, I say to you, if you have FAITH AS A MUSTARD SEED, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and NOTHING WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU. MARK 9:23 NKJV Jesus said to him, "If you can BELIEVE, ALL THINGS [ARE] POSSIBLE to him who BELIEVES."    TODAY 1 JOHN 5:14-15 NKJV Now this is the CONFIDENCE (FAITH) that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His WILL, He hears us. 15 And if WE KNOWthat He hears us, WHATEVER WE ASK, WE KNOW that WE HAVE the petitions that we have asked of Him. THE FAITH PROCESS We Know His Will We Know He Hears Us We Know We Have It   BIG IDEA FAITH begins where the WILL of God is already KNOWN!   The GREATEST BARRIER to OUR FAITH is UNCERTAINTY about GOD’S WILL!   JOHN 1:1-2 NKJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD.   Our UNBELIEF about GOD’S PROMISES is a DIRECT RESULT of the WORD OF GOD having        LOST ITS AUTHORITATIVE-REALITY to us!   ROMANS 10:17 NKJV So then FAITH [comes] by HEARING, and HEARING by the WORD OF GOD.   ACTION: STEP 1: What IMPOSSIBLE things would you like to EXPERIENCE with God?   STEP 2: What do you KNOW to be GOD’S WILL concerning your AREA OF IMPOSSIBILITY?   GROUPS – pointe.info/groups WORKSHOPS – pointe.info/workshops

The Big Idea: Faith is out of focus if it stares at anything other than Jesus.Philippians 3:1-14 (p. 1012-1013) The universal question for people in chains is “WHY?” The search for an answer is actually a search for CONFIDENCE. There is a savage enemy of your faith: a LIST. -Romans 2:28-29 (p. 967)-Galatians 3:10 (p. 1002) -James 2:10 (p. 1044) When your focus is a LIST, your goal is SELF.When your focus is JESUS, your goal is HIM. You cannot know the power of the resurrection unless there is a DEATH. When your prize is JESUS, your life opens to a whole new world. So, What do I do now?-FORGET and PURSUE.

Joseph was an extraordinary man. By the time Jesus reaches adulthood, there is no more mention of him, but his radical obedience to the Father, made him the right choice to be the stepfather of God. No man before, or since had ever had to face such a difficult task. He had the perfect child, and he had a difficult test to his faith. Big Idea: Faith, and a life characterized by holiness are gifts that Christ would love to receive from you. Give him that gift. (Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:43-46; Philippians 2:8)
