The Stiff Bois are back from Tokyo and have a lot of things to cover. In a different kind of episode the lads spend the first 1 hour and 20 minutes covering the many shows they attended in the lead up to the Dome (chatting All Japan, Big Japan, NOAH, Impact haha, DDT and TJPW), thank the many generous Stiffies they met, then spend and hour breaking down every match of Wrestle Kingdom from a live experience, spend time trying to explore the curious case of Shota Umino and thier hopes for his year ahead, talk the vibes of Wrestle Dynasty, another hour on the masterpiece that was Gabe v Kenny and main event the show with a spirited defense of Chris Charlton. A massive, reflective, conversational show, that is a little different to our usual fair (dont worry, previews and reviews of New Beginning tour will commence next week) but one that hopefully conveys the joy of Puro and the gratitude we have for all our listeners and Stiff Club members. Golden Week traditionally is the week of the year that delivers the most concentration of big shows apart from the first week of January. This year was no different as every major company ran shows during the holidays so the Eastern Lariat's plate was full of matches, developments and surprises to talk about. STRIGGA & Dylan of course focus on the traditional big three, but also dive into Big Japan and DRAGONGATE deeper than they usually do and overall about a dozen companies are mentioned on this year's Golden Week Extravaganza~!
With the announcement of All Together Again on June 9, the Eastern Lariat returns to discuss a possible card for the show and to take a look back in history when STRIGGA & Dylan first fantasy booked All Together shows in 2020. After that the attention is on two of the three companies represented on All Together: Pro Wrestling NOAH presented a loaded show from Sendai that saw Jake Lee vs. Katsuhiko Nakajima, Go Shiozaki returning and much more. In All Japan, the Champion Carnival continues and has some good matches and upsets to offer. Finally the Eastern Lariat presents a run down of the shows Big Japan and DRAGONGATE have to offer during golden week. A packed episode as always!
CONTENT WARNING: The match discussed in this episode is highly graphic and should only be viewed by those comfortable with excessive blood and violence. Seriously. The first episode of our TIA rewind series takes us back to season 6 and Big Japan Wrestling for a festive deathmatch that will test even the most hardened wrestling fan's limits. This is the Dangerous Christmas for Deathmatch Fluorescent Light Tubes Tree & Glass Plate & Alpha Deathmatch with Masashi Takeda taking on Masaya Takahashi. Happy holidays from all your friends at Watch Great Wrestling! [Masashi Takeda vs. Masaya Takahashi, BJW Death Vegas 2017, December 17 2017]

Golden Week 2022 is over and once again it was one of the busiest weeks in japanese pro-wrestling. This goes to show as this is the second episode dedicated to events, matches and stories going on in this particular week. This time STRIGGA & Dylan focus on the important shows Big Japan, DRAGONGATE, All Japan and New Japan ran between 4/29 and 5/5 with some additional topics at the beginning, among them the electric announcement of Fujita “Jr” Hayato's return.
The Eastern Lariat is back with another MEGA episode as STRIGGA & Dylan once again cover NINE promotions. Kris & David are guestless as we discuss the week that was January 12-18, 1998. We talk about the WWF's build to the 1998 Royal Rumble, featuring Goldust dressing up as Sable, the debut of the Rock 'n' Roll Express, and Kane pretending to be cool with the Undertaker before we move on to the Rumble PPV itself. That show features Cold Stone" Steve Austin getting hs big win in front of a giddy Mike Tyson plus Shawn Michaels torching his back in the main event against the Undertaker. We also talk about New Japan wanting their older guys to retire, Ryuji Yamakawa getting thrown off of the Kawasaki City Gym balcony in Big Japan, Antonio Peña suing everyone in Mexico, and Shane Douglas's greatness as a house show promoter for ECW. We close, of course, with WCW, featuring Nitro is Lawyers plus all the wackiness that you would expect of WCW(, everybody!) in this era.
