Episode 339: Sean Strickland impresses at UFC Houston. Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao 2 is set for Sept. 19th. All the latest news.
In this episode of The Game Time Guru, Shane Larson sits down with professional bare-knuckle fighter Mike "The Marine" Richman for a raw and honest conversation about the fight game—and the mindset behind it. Mike breaks down the unique intensity of fighting in BKFC, why every jab in bare knuckle can change a fight, and how committing to body shots can wear down even the toughest opponents. He shares what it's like competing in front of massive crowds, how he controls his nerves before stepping through the ropes, and the self-affirmations he uses to stay locked in. The conversation goes deeper into adversity—coming back from knockout losses, battling self-doubt, and rebuilding confidence after tough setbacks. Mike opens up about what it takes mentally and physically to stay in the fight game, how he knows when it's time to keep going (or walk away), and the life lessons fighting has taught him that translate directly into business, marriage, and everyday life. If you're an athlete, competitor, or someone chasing big goals, this episode will challenge you to control the chaos, trust your preparation, and remember who you are when things get tough. David ‘One More' Round isn't your typical fighter, he's a battle hardened warrior with nearly 100 fights to his name and a reputation built the hard way.Competing at the highest level in the world's premier bare knuckle boxing organisation, Round made the jump from MMA where he holds a 17-29-0 record, with many unsanctioned, no-nonsense bouts that never made the headlines but shaped the fighter he is today. This is a man forged in real combat.Known for his relentless flurries, switch stance chaos, and pressure heavy style, David thrives on confusing and overwhelming opponents. Blink, and you're in deep water. He doesn't just fight, he drags you into his world.Outside the squared circle, Round is a devoted family man, husband, father to three young daughters, dog lover, and a man who understands balance. Whether it's enjoying a glass of wine when he's out of camp or embracing life's small pleasures, he proves fighters aren't one dimensional.Nicknamed “The Gangster Prince of Wales,” David Round represents the raw, unfiltered spirit of bare-knuckle fighting, grit, heart, and zero quit. With momentum building and eyes firmly on the top of BKFC, his story is still being written. This is not just a fighter's tale. This is survival, sacrifice, and stepping into the fire, one more round at a time. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
UFC Fight Night Recap, Usman is 21-0, Arlovski cuts down Big Ben in BKFC
On the heels of last week's stinker between Tallison Teixeira and Tai Tuivasa at UFC 325, this weekend brought us Rizvan Kuniev vs. Jailton Almeida and, wow, holy shit did it absolutely suck. Not to beat a dead horse here but: Heavyweight. Still shitty after all these years, huh? In fact, we have to ask the question: Is the heavyweight division shittier now than it has ever been? That's a scary thought, but one that deserves some of our attention. Plus, the weekend's Fight Night might have been dogshit, but Mario Bautista looked great in the main event. Plus, lo, there was despair across the land, as the Dark Lord Ben Rothwell lost his BKFC heavyweight title to Andrei Arlovski. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

On an all-new edition of Between the Links, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck and Jed Meshew bring you the fourth annual BTL Promotional Festivus — where they grade the UFC for their 2025 performance, both in and out of the octagon, along with their airing of grievances for things that happened negatively throughout the course of the year. Additionally, the duo do the same for PFL, BKFC, and give their thoughts on things they did better from the year prior, other ideas to bring into 2026, and what could be the breakout promotion in the space for the upcoming year. Beneath the imposing surface of his tattoo-covered frame and “Monster” alter-ego, seemingly forged through chaos and back-alley brawls, Ulysses Diaz is a man who has been shaped by failures and redemptions much more than rage. If you judged Diaz solely by his intimidating appearance and troubled past, you'd miss the journey of a survivalist who wrote his own blueprint for discipline and an unforeseen ascent in combat sports. Diaz laced up the gloves—not with dreams of belts or boxing fame, but simply as a way to stay in shape and clear his head. Needless to say, what started as a workout quickly became the best decision of his life. With coaches who didn't just train him but always checked in, held him accountable, and understood the roads he had traveled, the gym became his anchor. Uplifted by his support system and a renewed purpose, Diaz got back in the ring, after once dabbling as an amateur earlier in life, and managed to revolutionize his life through fighting.Since the moment he embarked on a professional combat sports journey in 2017, Diaz knew he'd found his second chance. Not a way out, nor some golden ticket to stardom. Instead, it was the way forward. Diaz aggressively chased any and all opportunities across boxing and MMA, also later jumping at the opportunity to take the gloves back off and make a name for himself through the growing interest of bare-knuckle promotions like BKFC and BKB. Even recently, Diaz stepped into a custom-rules bout with “Platinum” Mike Perry's Dirty Boxing, always looking for the next challenge and never one to shy away from some of the most brutal stipulations left in the sanctioned world of combat.Ulysses is also an actor who has played key roles in hit movies like Den Of Thieves, The Weapon, and Never Too Late. He is very close friends with the Super Star Artist 'Pitbull' aka Mr World Wide and was blessed to travel the world and visit many countries, while working as his personal security. But nothing has meant more to Uly than his youngest son, Junior. Even though Uly has faced some of the toughest challenges any man can experience, his most difficult battle was finding out his son was diagnosed with cancer via a bone disease. This podcast was filled with amazing stories of overcoming hardships, comical tales of travel adventures, tear jerking admissions of a fathers deepest fears, and so much more. Ben "The Bane" Davis has carved out one of the most unique paths in combat sports and entertainment. From calling fights across multiple promotions to stepping inside the cage himself—and even competing on MTV's The Challenge—Ben brings a rare blend of curiosity, courage, and relentless work ethic. In this episode, Ben breaks down how he entered the world of combat sports commentary, what he learned while grinding through early media roles, and the mindset it takes to stand out on the mic. We talk about pacing, preparation, chemistry with a co-commentator, and why great play-by-play requires both discipline and personality. Ben also shares his firsthand experience competing in BKFC and Karate Combat—not just as a commentator, but as a fighter—and what those opportunities taught him about the sport and himself. Then we dive into his leap into reality television with MTV's The Challenge: • What life in the house was really like • The hardest part of adapting to cameras 24/7 • How the alliances, strategy, and politics actually work • What he took away from the experience and whether he'd do it again If you're someone who has ever wondered "what if?", Ben's story is a testament to saying yes, taking chances, and learning through unconventional opportunities. Enjoy this conversation with one of the most dynamic voices—and personalities—in combat sports today. _____________________________________ If you would like to watch the show, please feel free to follow me on YouTube and catch the video podcast from each of the guests! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqHG9H7vljaLwQ765GIdBQA If you'd like to listen to the show, you can catch the podcast on your favorite platforms: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-gametime-guru/id1195653965 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/6bBJIiyOxs25BHKhKlCe23 Amazon Music: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/81800b66-fda2-4263-ac16-04c1c1d637a8/the-gametime-guru Tune In: https://tunein.com/podcasts/Sports--Recreation-Podcasts/The-Gametime-Guru-p1021721/ YouTube Music: https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvbvSCliFvNWYadx9YugquysAbVz8Cb7i
