00:00:40 Intro00:15:30 Portal Games00:17:00 Cthulhu: Dark Providence00:38:30 Campy Creatures00:44:15 The Gilded Realms01:13::00 Miniature Market01:14:00 Fantasy Realms: Greek Legends01:20:00 Outro A long time ago, we got to play the game A Study in Emerald, so we were very interested in the reimplementation. Cthulhu Dark Providence plunges players into a tense, investigative struggle against cosmic dread, blending noir‑style mystery with the creeping inevitability of Lovecraftian horror. The game uses the combination of tight resource decisions, escalating threats, and growing insanity that make every choice feel like a step deeper into the abyss. But is it better than what we remember, take a listen to find out. Campy Creatures and Fantasy Realms: Greek Legends offer a wildly different moods, each with its own charm. Campy Creatures is a fast, clever bluffing game where you command classic movie monsters to outwit rival mad scientists. Fantasy Realms: Greek Legends adds mythic flair to the beloved combo‑building formula, letting players craft powerful hands inspired by gods, heroes, and legendary artifacts. Together, these games form a vibrant spectrum—from spooky pulp fun to grand fantasy world‑building—each scratching a different strategic itch. The Gilded Realms blends city‑building with a clever, almost puzzle‑like tableau system that evolves every round. Cards you place steadily march downward through your tableau, and when they reach the bottom, they convert into precious resources—fuel for expanding your kingdom, unlocking card abilities, or mustering an army before the looming invasion arrives. That slow, predictable cadence creates a satisfying rhythm: every placement is an investment, every advancement a small payoff, and every turn a chance to set up something bigger. Interaction is light, with only the occasional skirmish to break the solitude, so most of the tension comes from managing your own tight economy. Resources never feel abundant, and the game constantly nudges you toward tough, meaningful decisions about what to prioritize and what to sacrifice. If you enjoy kingdom builders that reward planning, efficiency, and a touch of long‑term foresight, The Gilded Realms is absolutely worth exploring. Thanks for listening, we really do appreciate it. In this special episode of All About The Archers, we're joined by the brilliant Emerald O'Hanrahan, who plays Emma Grundy, to unpack one of the most intense and emotionally complex storylines The Archers has delivered in years.Emerald talks candidly about Emma's parenting, her blindness when it comes to George, and the painful moment when she finally realises the damage that's been done. We explore the fallout from George's injury, Keira running away, and why Emma's “wake-up moment” felt so earned — and so devastating. We also dive into:Emma's guilt, shame and fierce loyalty as a motherWhether families ever truly hear uncomfortable truthsThe realism behind George being welcomed back so quicklyEmerald's thoughts on the ambiguous Truth and Lies episodeHow those huge two-hander scenes are prepared and performedWhy Emma is such a divisive — and deeply human — characterWhat Emerald herself has learned from playing EmmaAlong the way there's humour, honesty, and plenty of insight into how The Archers handles long-term storytelling, trauma, and moral grey areas.A must-listen for anyone gripped by the Grundy storyline — and for listeners who love hearing how iconic Archers moments are created.
It's 2026 and we're kicking off New Year, New You with zero delusion and a lot of honesty. LaLa turned 40 on Christmas and officially became an adult. Her birthday gifts included panties, bras, cozy socks, mittens, and an emerald bracelet. Practical. Iconic. Shawna? She got a meat tenderizer, a cheese grater, and an ongoing three-week now stomach situation. Doctors keep telling her to “just go to the ER,” which feels super helpful when they're just going to say to follow up with GI and she could leave with the flu, super flu, COVID, or pneumonia instead. We get into milestone birthdays, questionable gifts, medical burnout, and why January makes everyone feel like they're already failing. From resolution culture versus real life to redefining success as sustainability, this episode is about lowering the bar, listening to your body, and surviving the new year without losing your mind.

From childhood obsession with the movie Romancing the Stone to claiming emerald as my crystal of 2026 - this is a deep dive into why emerald is THE stone of magic, vision, and transformation.I explore the geology that reveals the magic, the Emerald Tablet's "as above, so below" teaching, and the medieval legend connecting emerald to both Lucifer's crown and the Holy Grail. This isn't your typical heart chakra episode. This is about vision you can't unsee, exile that proves clarity, and what happens when a stone chooses you.Fair warning: This episode is not gentle. Financial institutions are rethinking loyalty at a critical moment. Credit card spending sits at record highs, but economic uncertainty looms. For banks aiming to stay relevant, loyalty can no longer be an afterthought – it needs to be embedded into every customer experience from the start. At FIS's Emerald 2025 conference in Orlando, Mladen Vladic, general manager of loyalty services at FIS, sat down to discuss how the loyalty industry is evolving beyond traditional card-based rewards. His central argument: Financial institutions need to shift from chasing share of wallet to capturing share of mind first.

When cold cases are looked at, many officers believe the name of the culprit is already held within the paperwork. Time can restrict an investigation as people move away, forget details or pass away. But it also works in the other way, that loyalties change, people lose the fear of being found out or their conscience finally gets to them and new information is given. Between 1993 and 1998, six women disappeared under mysterious circumstances within a geographical area now referred to as the Vanishing Triangle:Annie McCarrick (1993): An American student living in Dublin, Annie was last seen boarding a bus to Enniskerry. Despite extensive searches, no trace of her has been found.Fiona Pender (1996): A 25-year-old pregnant woman from Tullamore, Fiona disappeared without a trace.Ciara Breen (1997): A 17-year-old from Dundalk, Ciara vanished after sneaking out of her home one night.Fiona Sinnott (1998): Fiona was last seen leaving a pub in County Wexford. Community and regional banks operate in an environment of perpetual tension. They need to grow deposits and drive lending profitability while managing operating costs that threaten to overwhelm smaller institutions. They must also prevent increasingly sophisticated fraud while delivering customer experiences that match Amazon and Netflix. And they need to do all of this while building technology foundations that won't become obsolete before the implementation is complete. At FIS's Emerald 2025 conference in Orlando, Peter Boyer, head of banking at FIS, and Craig Focardi, principal analyst at Celent, discussed how financial institutions are navigating these competing demands. Focardi and Boyer discuss how modernization is now a continuous process of adaptation, and that the institutions most likely to succeed will focus on enabling agility rather than chasing specific technologies. "If you really take a step back and think about regional and community banking, there's a couple headwinds or tailwinds, that are driving how banks are thinking about the market," Boyer explained. "One is deposit growth and profitability growth through lending. Every bank right now is thinking, how do I grow? What is my sweet spot in my segment? Thing two is operating costs. How do they continue to drive a more efficient bank? AI is a big topic on that particular solution. And thing three is fraud. How do you protect the banking ecosystem? You put those three together and you've got a meaningful amount of where the energy is in the market today."
Producer Diggory returns to the podcast to sift through listener comments on Spotify before Emerald leads one of her famed Odd One Out rounds, this time featuring Batman, a footballing nun and robots with “ominous” Northern Irish accents who may all have links to Fathers for Justice… Next, Jack whisks us back to the so-called “golden age of air travel” as he unpicks Sean Duffy and the US Department of Transportation's new campaign to bring “civility” back to the skies. Finally, in the Missing Words round, expect ‘sleigh'-themed cars in Dorset, odd dating-profile pics and to discover what the biggest faux pas at the dinner table really is... This episode opens "Someday I'll Love" poems through the vivid imagery of a young poet's connection with their grandmother, remembering in love as memory begins to slip. Emerald ᏃᏈᏏ GoingSnake is an Indigenous poet from the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians and the Muscogee (Creek) Nation in Oklahoma. Winner of the 2024 Maureen Egen Writers Exchange Award for poetry and the recipient of the 2023 Indigenous Nations Poets fellowship, they live in St. Louis. Portrait by Erin Lewis Photography The poem was featured on Poem-a-Day and can be found at the Academy of American Poets. See here for the poem online. (https://poets.org/poem/someday-ill-love) Someday I'll Love— Emerald ᏃᏈᏏ GoingSnake —after Frank O'Hara like I dreamt of the lamb—slaughtered, forgotten, lying on porcelain tile, on crimson-filled grout— and woke up thinking of my grandmother, of her Betty Boop hands that held marbled stone, held dough-balled flour, held the first strands of my hair floating atop the river— like winter apples, the ones that hang outside my living room window and survive first snowfall to feed the neighborhood crows, how they fall beneath my boots, staining my rubber soles with epigraphs of rot, epigraphs of fors, of dears, of holding on till frost's end. Someday I will see long-forgotten fingerprints on the inside of my eyelids as I go to sleep, as I close my eyes for silence on a Wednesday, mourning—seeking—creases and smile lines, porch lights and swing sets, summer nights of lightning bugs and Johnny Cash. I think it will be a Tuesday, or maybe someday is yesterday, is two months from now, is going to be a day when I forget what I'm supposed to be remembering. For now, I will paint my nails cradle, adorn my skin in cloth that doesn't choke, tell my bones that they are each a lamb remembered. Copyright © 2024 by Emerald ᏃᏈᏏ GoingSnake.
