This week, the guys pay homage to the Suicidal, Homicidal, Genocidal, Death-Defying Maniac... Sabu. They dive deep into ECW's Heat Wave 1998, featuring Sabu teaming with RVD to take on Hayabusa and Jinsei Shinzaki for the ECW Tag Team Championships. They also discuss John Cena's current run, JC Mateo, AEW Collision ending prematurely in favor of Black Adam, and more.--Follow us!shooterspod.comTwitter/X: [@_piccone] [@VaughnMJohnson] [@ShootersRadio]Instagram: [@shootersradio]Threads: [@shootersradio] [@picconenick] [@vaughnjohnson166]Bluesky: [@shootersradio] [@piccone] [@vaughnjohnson]Facebook: [The Straight Shooters]Exclusive Patreon content: [patreon.com/shootersradio]
This week, STRIGGA & Dylan start the show talking about the new Hayabusa and from there discuss mask gimmicks in modern japanese pro wrestling including Tiger Mask and Mentai Kid. The biggest point of discussion on the show follows with Wrestling Dontaku, Resurgence and Best Of The Super Junior leaving their marks on New Japan Pro Wrestling in May leading up to Dominion in June. Hirooki Goto still carries the World Title, Yota Tsuji and Gabe Kidd battle for prime positioning and what about Callum Newman? More questions are asked with All Japan Pro Wrestling and their Champion Carnival. Who came out stronger? What about the Saitos and where is it all leading? This brings DRAGONGATE into the conversation as well with Madoka Kikuta turning to Z-Brats, U-T winning the Brave Gate and GOLD CLASS winning the services of Hyo. Finally, the Eastern Lariat team brings up OZAWA vs. Kaito Kiyomiya in Pro Wrestling NOAH that may or may not have an extra stipulation.

John Cena's back on top… and Kevin Nash has thoughts. In this week's episode, Big Kev breaks down the shockwaves of WrestleMania and why he thinks the ending was more “Hogan in '96” than the crowd may have realized. From kayfabe power dynamics to merch-moving politics, it's all under the microscope as Kevin sets the table for what should come next. But before we get into the squared circle, we take a cinematic detour. Michael Mann's Heat, Kevin Bacon playing a literal devil's bounty hunter, and how many rewatches does it take to admit Collateral might not hold up? Kev's got opinions, Sean's got DVD nostalgia, and somehow Al Pacino ends up with a jobber's gimmick. Welcome to Kliq This. The boys also break down what it really means to “look like a star” in today's wrestling climate—whether you're a 6'10” killer or a 5'1” flipper. Kev doesn't mince words when comparing Rey Mysterio's legacy to modern high-flyers, and yes, someone ends up being called a Shetland pony. Is the WWE pricing out the working-class fan? Is Heyman really the MacGuffin that holds the industry together? And why do modern entrances feel more like Coachella sets than fight-night spectacles? Kev walks through the economics, the nostalgia, and the fire (literally) of what makes a great entrance… and why Diesel's never gotten the love it deserved. And finally, WrestleMania predictions fly fast and furious—including a huge twist involving Cena, Cody, and Paul Heyman. Kev sees the chessboard clearly, even if it ends with someone becoming a “Heyman bottom.” If that line doesn't get your attention, nothing will. Watch now—before the markets open.

Jon Summers is the Motoring Historian. He was a company car thrashing technology sales rep that turned into a fairly inept sports bike rider. On his show he gets together with various co-hosts to talk about new and old cars, driving, motorbikes, motor racing, motoring travel. In this episode of 'The Motoring Historian' with Jon Summers, he is joined by returning guest John Garcia, delving into the niche world of Irish road racing. The show begins by recounting personal motorcycle anecdotes and transitions to a discussion about the unique culture of road racing in Ireland, contrasting it with more mainstream events like the Isle of Man TT. John Garcia shares his recent experiences riding in Ireland, highlighting the grassroots nature of the sport and his participation in a local motorcycle rally. The narrative also addresses the challenges facing this form of motorsport, including safety and insurance issues. Additionally, there are side stories of memorable motorcycle rides, encounters with local characters, and personal reflections on the changing landscape of San Francisco's motorcycling community. November 1974 became known as the “November Revolution” in particle physics. Two teams on either side of the US discovered the same particle - the “J/psi” meson. On the "J" team, at the Brookhaven National Laboratory, Sau Lan Wu and colleagues were smashing protons and neutrons together and looking for electrons and positron pairs in the debris. Over at Stanford on the other side of the US, Dr Michael Riordan was in a lab with the "psi" team who, in some ways the other direction, were smashing electrons and positrons together to see what was created. They both, unbeknownst to each other, found a peak around 3.1Gev.It was shortly after that the full significance was clear. The existence of this particle confirmed a new type of quark, theorised in what we now call the Standard Model, but never before observed - the Charm quark. And with Prof Sau Lan Wu's team's subsequent discovery of gluons – the things that hold it all together – a pattern appeared in what had been the chaos of high energy physics and the nature of matter. Sau Lan and Michael (author of "The Hunting of the Quark: A True Story of Modern Physics") tell Roland the story.Prof Matthew Genge and colleagues at the Natural History Museum in London have found evidence of a bacillus growing on samples of the asteroid Ryugu brought back from space by the Hayabusa 2 mission. Rather than evidence for alien life, as they suggest in a paper this month, the contamination shows how easily terrestrial microorganisms can colonise space rocks, even when subjected to the strictest control precautions. And And Per Ahlberg of Uppsala University and colleagues report in Science how they have taken a load of fossilised faecal matter and mapped out the evolution of dinosaur diets. First came the carnivores… then the vegetarian revolution…(Photo: Samuel Ting (front) shown with members of his J/psi experimental team. OSIRIS-REx and the Hayabusa spacecraft have sample asteroids to understand what they're made of. NASA sent the DART mission to change the orbit of a tiny asteroid orbiting another asteroid. ESA sent Hera as a follow-up mission to see what the impactor did. All of these missions have been done in the name of planetary defense -- protecting Earth from the worst of the rocks in space. While none of the asteroids so far discovered are a threat to our planet in the next century, there are still more out there that are small enough to do major damage to a city or even country. So what do we do if we find a near-Earth asteroid that's a real threat? Launch a team a la "Armageddon"? Ignore the problem? Try to flee off-planet or below ground? As DART showed, the best answer seems to be "move it out of the way". In his new book "How to Kill an Asteroid", Dr. Robin George Andrews tells the story of planetary defense and how we got to this point in saving ourselves. Join communications specialist Beth Johnson in a fun (and slightly scary) conversation with Dr. Andrews about killer asteroids this Halloween on SETI Live. (Recorded 31 October 2024.)

Episode 45 is here pals! It's our Chris Things Art "Match of the Week" Edition w/ Best-Mate-David for another big ol' 'DOUBLE-HEADER' episode talking the two absolutely delightful matches that were the 'American Dragon', Bryan Danielson vs. 'Swerve' Strickland (for the AEW World Championship at Wembley Stadium) & an FMW ‘No Ropes Barbed Wire Current Mine Explosion Double Hell Time Bomb Tornado Death-Match' with Terry Funk & Mr. Pogo vs Hayabusa & Masato Tanaka at the famed Kawasaki Stadium. Escuchar audio

Both are sweet boys.Anthony - 1/144 Finishing the painting for the Gundam GP03; prepping another Gundam TR-1 Hazel.
