A Los Angeles homeless woman from Detroit by the name of Paula Bryant was scammed by a fraud landlord and obviously other organizations and resources in the Hollywood area. Paula was staying at the homeless shelter in Los Angeles in the Hollywood area Path located off Schrader Ave and had a slip and fall and had to be taken to the hospital during her time in the hospital during recovery she lost her shelter bed. The shelter didn't save her bed for her. She was transported from the hospital to a nursing home for further recovery. She obviously never had a personal injury attorney to look into her case or circumstances. The Circle team showed up and was referred by the Hollywood LAPD to talk to PAULA BRYANT at the Durant library on Saturday February 17, 2024 regarding giving her a referral to a woman's shelter in Hollywood after she went there on her own and they told her she needed a referral for emergency shelter. The Circle Team said they were unable to assist her but they did have he photo of Paula Bryant on their mobile phone supposedly from their CES system. AKASHI MEDIA PODCAST LIVE with Variety Chenevert Email: akashimedia@writeme.com Url: akashimediapodcast.wordpress.com Phone: 702 625 2712 While at the nursing home in recovery Paula had a woman come to the nursing home that claims she was referred to her by The Center from Blessed Sacrament Church and she was a landlord who owned a house on 41st street in Los Angeles she told her she would be there with women her age and make new friends. Paula was taken to a house in Los Angeles under construction that had no trespassing signs and under demolition. Another woman was there while construction contractors were working on the home. Paula was scammed out of her Michigan Id, her social security card and her SSI money of $1,000 she got $190 in food stamps and the woman left her $20 for the month. They also requested her birth certificate and supposedly reached out to Paul's family in Detroit for her birth certificate but they never responded. The so called landlord Lena never came back to see her accept for her money and Lena has a phone disconnected and told Paula she was going out of town. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/akashimediapodcastlive/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/akashimediapodcastlive/support

Want to assist with the project of restoring the communion rail to use in Blessed Sacrament Church? You can give online at https://blessedsacramentkck.weshareonline.org/ Make sure you include a reference to the communion rail in the comment portion of the form. My rough and ready translation of Father Pro's meditation on the empty tabernacles is corrected and somewhat improved below. "Lord, return to the Sanctuary! May the Tabernacle no longer be empty... See how on their Calvary so many souls beg for it, O my Jesus! "Your souls, Lord, crucified in the cross of suffering, torn to pieces by the deepest grief imaginable: the sorrow of your absence! "Lord of the Sanctuary, you left. You left, Lord, and since then the bells are silent, the churches deserted, the altar bereft of sacrifice, the choirs silent, sanctuaries without flowers, the candles mournful without their golden flame, the cavernous naves grieving and empty, though a fluttering prayer stirs mysterious wings; all immersed in silence and drowsiness, everything quiet and sad, full of trouble, death, and forgetfulness. "Lord, why did you leave? There, before the Sanctuary in the mysterious encounter of love, to the trembling light of the lamp that left the altar in shadow, came the pilgrims of life, the enormous caravan of those that carry in their wounded souls the perpetual fright of the day to come; those carrying the cross of the present, bearing the corpse of the past like a dead weight pressing down upon their broken hearts; the grieving, the aging, the orphan, the worn, the ill and weak and hungry, and all the many captives of sin, the whole legion of suffering... "They used to go to You, Lord, their star and beacon; and they found in You blessing and consolation, in their abandonment, refuge; resignation and balm in their grief. What pain could not be forgotten in the presence of the love of a God that gave his bodily life on the cross, for the happiness of ungrateful sinners? "What sadness could endure, what harsh grief would not fade, what unspeakable pain could not be consoled, by a God that weeps with us, that suffers for us and keeps watch, imploring, day and night in the Sanctuary? But you are not there; we do not meet you there in our sweet meeting place; in the desolation of our affliction we inquire: Lord, where should we go? "A hellish breeze roams the streets; the restlessness peaks, and before the threating mist, all hope of brightness is extinguished. Souls are alone, the barque of Peter seems to have wrecked, and the divine figure of Jesus of Tiberias does not break through the black night, neither holding back the fury of the waves nor calming the devastating storm. "Why have you abandoned us? Lord, if You forgive the one that acknowledges his fault and repents of it, have mercy on your Mexico... she knows the enormity of her sins and praises you in all reverence as her King. Those who offended You yesterday, now contrite they turn their eyes to You..." --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/hucklefather/support
Ana Grande's great uncle was Fr. Rutilio Grande, SJ, a Jesuit from El Salvador who was just beatified last month. (Beatification is the final step before canonized sainthood in the church, and we can call him Blessed Rutilio now.) Blessed Rutilio was assassinated by El Salvador's security forces in 1977 for his ministry and community organizing with impoverished farmers. He was good friends with Archbishop Oscar Romero, and Rutilio's death sparked Romero's own conversion from a reserved leader who preferred to stay away from controversy into an outspoken prophet for peace and justice. Ana spoke with host Mike Jordan Laskey just a few hours after she had returned to her home in Los Angeles from Fr. Rutilio's beatification. She talked about was like to be there for the ceremony, plus what it's like to have someone in your own family so close to sainthood. Ana has so clearly been inspired by Blessed Rutilio's work for justice herself, as she has dedicated her life to social justice causes like immigration reform. She's also a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Church, the Jesuit parish in Hollywood. It's a privilege to hear from Ana about her experience at the beatification and how she thinks her great uncle's legacy can inspire all of us today. The big news this week is the naming of three Monsignors by Pope Francis: Msgr. Robert Avella is pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Arlington; Msgr. John Cregan is retired pastor of Blessed Sacrament Church in Alexandria; and Msgr. Stanley Krempa is pastor of St. Bridget of Ireland Church in Berryville. Staff writer Zoey Maraist reports. Maraist also covered last weekend’s women’s conference, which drew 700 women to St. Joseph Church in Herndon. The two main speakers were Sister of Life Grace Dominic, a former Catholic Herald staff writer and Diane Foley, the mother of slain journalist Jim Foley. And last Saturday evening the Basilica of St. Mary in Alexandria hosted an Irish Hooley. The Herald’s multimedia designer, Ashleigh Kassok, reports. Next week we’ll cover the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Alexandria as well as the Mass for Healing sponsored by the Knights and Dames of Malta coming up this Saturday, March 17. Christopher Ullman, a parishioner at Blessed Sacrament Church in Alexandria, has competed in the national and international whistling competition nine times and won four times. He's whistled the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” in the Oval Office and performed the National Anthem at Washington Nationals baseball games. And then there's the time he performed “Yankee Doodle Dandy” at the top of the Washington Monument — from the outside atop scaffolding. “I love to whistle because it brings joy to people and lifts up their hearts and makes me happy as well,” said Ullman.
