In this episode, Kelly Brownell speaks with Jerold Mande, CEO of Nourish Science, adjunct professor at the Harvard School of Public Health, and former Deputy Undersecretary for Food Safety at the USDA. They discuss the alarming state of children's health in America, the challenges of combating poor nutrition, and the influence of the food industry on public policy. The conversation explores the parallels between the tobacco and food industries and proposes new strategies for ensuring children reach adulthood in good health. Mande emphasizes the need for radical changes in food policy and the role of public health in making these changes. Transcript So, you co-founded this organization along with Jerome Adams, Bill Frist and Thomas Grumbly, as we said, to ensure every child breaches age 18 at a healthy weight and in good metabolic health. That's a pretty tall order given the state of the health of youth today in America. But let's start by you telling us what inspired this mission and what does it look like to achieve this in today's food environment? I was trained in public health and also in nutrition and in my career, which has been largely in service of the public and government, I've been trying to advance those issues. And unfortunately over the arc of my career from when I started to now, particularly in nutrition and public health, it's just gotten so much worse. Indeed today Americans have the shortest lifespans by far. We're not just last among the wealthy countries, but we're a standard deviation last. But probably most alarming of all is how sick our children are. Children should not have a chronic disease. Yet in America maybe a third do. I did some work on tobacco at one point, at FDA. That was an enormous success. It was the leading cause of death. Children smoked at a higher rate, much like child chronic disease today. About a third of kids smoked. And we took that issue on, and today it's less than 2%. And so that shows that government can solve these problems. And since we did our tobacco work in the early '90s, I've changed my focus to nutrition and public health and trying to fix that. But we've still made so little progress. Give us a sense of how far from that goal we are. So, if the goal is to make every child reaching 18 at a healthy weight and in good metabolic health, what percentage of children reaching age 18 today might look like that? It's probably around a half or more, but we're not quite sure. We don't have good statistics. One of the challenges we face in nutrition is, unfortunately, the food industry or other industries lobby against funding research and data collection. And so, we're handicapped in that way. But we do know from the studies that CDC and others have done that about 20% of our children have obesity about a similar number have Type 2 diabetes or the precursors, pre-diabetes. You and I started off calling it adult-onset diabetes and they had to change that name to a Type 2 because it's becoming so common in kids. And then another disease, fatty liver disease, really unthinkable in kids. Something that the typical pediatrician would just never see. And yet in the last decade, children are the fastest growing group. I think we don't know an exact number, but today, at least a third, maybe as many as half of our children have a chronic disease. Particularly a food cause chronic disease, or the precursors that show they're on the way. I remember probably going back about 20 years, people started saying that we were seeing the first generation of American children that would lead shorter lives than our parents did. And what a terrible legacy to leave our children. Absolutely. And that's why we set that overarching goal of ensuring every child reaches age 18 in good metabolic health. And the reason we set that is in my experience in government, there's a phrase we all use - what gets measured gets done. And when I worked at FDA, when I worked at USDA, what caught my attention is that there is a mission statement. There's a goal of what we're trying to achieve. And it's ensuring access to healthy options and information, like a food label. Now the problem with that, first of all, it's failed. But the problem with that is the bureaucrats that I oversaw would go into a supermarket, see a produce section, a protein section, the food labels, which I worked on, and say we've done our job. They would check those boxes and say, we've done it. And yet we haven't. And if we ensured that every child reaches age 18 at a healthy weight and good metabolic health, if the bureaucrats say how are we doing on that? They would have to conclude we're failing, and they'd have to try something else. And that's what we need to do. We need to try radically different, new strategies because what we've been doing for decades has failed. You mentioned the food industry a moment ago. Let's talk about that in a little more detail. You made the argument that food companies have substituted profits for health in how they design their products. Explain that a little bit more, if you will. And tell us how the shift has occurred and what do you think the public health cost has been? Yes, so the way I like to think of it, and your listeners should think of it, is there's a North star for food design. And from a consumer standpoint, I think there are four points on the star: taste, cost, convenience, and health. That's what they expect and want from their food. Now the challenge is the marketplace. Because that consumer, you and I, when we go to the grocery store and get home on taste, cost, and convenience, if we want within an hour, we can know whether the food we purchased met our standard there. Or what our expectations were. Not always for health. There's just no way to know in a day, a week, a month, even in a year or more. We don't know if the food we're eating is improving and maintaining our health, right? There should be a definition of food. Food should be what we eat to thrive. That really should be the goal. I borrowed that from NASA, the space agency. When I would meet with them, they said, ' Jerry, it's important. Right? It's not enough that people just survive on the food they eat in space. They really need to thrive.' And that's what WE need to do. And that's really what food does, right? And yet we have food, not only don't we thrive, but we get sick. And the reason for that is, as I was saying, the marketplace works on taste, cost and convenience. So, companies make sure their products meet consumer expectation for those three. But the problem is on the fourth point on the star: on health. Because we can't tell in even years whether it's meeting our expectation. That sort of cries out. You're at a policy school. Those are the places where government needs to step in and act and make sure that the marketplace is providing. That feedback through government. But the industry is politically strong and has prevented that. And so that has left the fourth point of the star open for their interpretation. And my belief is that they've put in place a prop. So, they're making decisions in the design of the product. They're taste, they gotta get taste right. They gotta get cost and convenience right. But rather than worrying what does it do to your health? They just, say let's do a profit. And that's resulted in this whole category of food called ultra-processed food (UPF). I actually believe in the future, whether it's a hundred years or a thousand years. If humanity's gonna thrive we need manmade food we can thrive on. But we don't have that. And we don't invest in the science. We need to. But today, ultra-processed food is manmade food designed on taste, cost, convenience, and then how do we make the most money possible. Now, let me give you one other analogy, if I could. If we were CEOs of an automobile company, the mission is to provide vehicles where people can get safely from A to point B. It's the same as food we can thrive on. That is the mission. The problem is that when the food companies design food today, they've presented to the CEO, and everyone gets excited. They're seeing the numbers, the charts, the data that shows that this food is going to meet, taste, cost, convenience. It's going to make us all this money. But the CEO should be asking this following question: if people eat this as we intend, will they thrive? At the very least they won't get sick, right? Because the law requires they can't get sick. And if the Midmanagers were honest, they'd say here's the good news boss. We have such political power we've been able to influence the Congress and the regulatory agencies. That they're not going to do anything about it. Taste, cost, convenience, and profits will work just fine. Couldn't you make the argument that for a CEO to embrace that kind of attitude you talked about would be corporate malpractice almost? That, if they want to maximize profits then they want people to like the food as much as possible. That means engineering it in ways that make people overeat it, hijacking the reward pathways in the brain, and all that kind of thing. Why in the world would a CEO care about whether people thrive? Because it's the law. The law requires we have these safety features in cars and the companies have to design it that way. And there's more immediate feedback with the car too, in terms of if you crashed right away. Because it didn't work, you'd see that. But here's the thing. Harvey Wiley.He's the founder of the food safety programs that I led at FDA and USDA. He was a chemist from academia. Came to USDA in the late 1800s. It was a time of great change in food in America. At that point, almost all of families grew their own food on a farm. And someone had to decide who's going to grow our food. It's a family conversation that needed to take place. Increasingly, Americans were moving into the cities at that time, and a brand-new industry had sprung up to feed people in cities. It was a processed food industry. And in order to provide shelf stable foods that can offer taste, cost, convenience, this new processed food industry turned to another new industry, a chemical industry. Now, it's hard to believe this, but there was a point in time that just wasn't an industry. So these two big new industries had sprung up- processed food and chemicals. And Harvey Wiley had a hypothesis that the chemicals they were using to make these processed foods were making us sick. Indeed, food poisoning back then was one of the 10 leading causes of death. And so, Harvey Wiley went to Teddy Roosevelt. He'd been trying for years within the bureaucracy and not making progress. But when Teddy Roosevelt came in, he finally had the person who listened to him. Back then, USDA was right across from the Washington Monument to the White House. He'd walk right over there into the White House and met with Teddy Roosevelt and said, ' this food industry is making us sick. We should do something about it.' And Teddy Roosevelt agreed. And they wrote the laws. And so I think what your listeners need to understand is that when you look at the job that FDA and USDA is doing, their food safety programs were created to make sure our food doesn't make us sick. Acutely sick. Not heart disease or cancer, 30, 40 years down the road, but acutely sick. No. I think that's absolutely the point. That's what Wiley was most concerned about at the time. But that's not the law they wrote. The law doesn't say acutely ill. And I'll give you this example. Your listeners may be familiar with something called GRAS - Generally Recognized as Safe. It's a big problem today. Industry co-opted the system and no longer gets approval for their food additives. And so, you have this Generally Recognized as Safe system, and you have these chemicals and people are worried about them. In the history of GRAS. Only one chemical has FDA decided we need to get that off the market because it's unsafe. That's partially hydrogenated oils or trans-fat. Does trans-fat cause acute illness? It doesn't. It causes a chronic disease. And the evidence is clear. The agency has known that it has the responsibility for both acute and chronic illness. But you're right, the industry has taken advantage of this sort of chronic illness space to say that that really isn't what you should be doing. But having worked at those agencies, I don't think they see it that way. They just feel like here's the bottom line on it. The industry uses its political power in Congress. And it shapes the agency's budget. So, let's take FDA. FDA has a billion dollars with a 'b' for food safety. For the acute food safety, you're talking about. It has less than 25 million for the chronic disease. There are about 1400 deaths a year in America due to the acute illnesses caused by our food that FDA and USDA are trying to prevent. The chronic illnesses that we know are caused by our food cause 1600 maybe a day. More than that of the acute every day. Now the agency should be spending at least half its time, if not more, worrying about those chronic illness. Why doesn't it? Because the industry used their political power in Congress to put the billion dollars for the acute illness. That's because if you get acutely ill, that's a liability concern for them. Jerry let's talk about the political influence in just a little more detail, because you're in a unique position to tell us about this because you've seen it from the inside. One mechanism through which industry might influence the political process is lobbyists. They hire lobbyists. Lobbyists get to the Congress. People make decisions based on contributions and things like that. Are there other ways the food industry affects the political process in addition to that. For example, what about the revolving door issue people talk about where industry people come into the administrative branch of government, not legislative branch, and then return to industry. And are there other ways that the political influence of the industry has made itself felt? I think first and foremost it is the lobbyists, those who work with Congress, in effect. Particularly the funding levels, and the authority that the agencies have to do that job. I think it's overwhelmingly that. I think second, is the influence the industry has. So let me back up to that a sec. As a result of that, we spend very little on nutrition research, for example. It's 4% of the NIH budget even though we have these large institutes, cancer, heart, diabetes, everyone knows about. They're trying to come up with the cures who spend the other almost 50 billion at NIH. And so, what happens? You and I have both been at universities where there are nutrition programs and what we see is it's very hard to not accept any industry money to do the research because there isn't the federal money. Now, the key thing, it's not an accident. It's part of the plan. And so, I think that the research that we rely on to do regulation is heavily influenced by industry. And it's broad. I've served, you have, others, on the national academies and the programs. When I've been on the inside of those committees, there are always industry retired scientists on those committees. And they have undue influence. I've seen it. Their political power is so vast. The revolving door, that is a little of both ways. I think the government learns from the revolving door as well. But you're right, some people leave government and try to undo that. Now, I've chosen to work in academia when I'm not in government. But I think that does play a role, but I don't think it plays the largest role. I think the thing that people should be worried about is how much influence it has in Congress and how that affects the agency's budgets. And that way I feel that agencies are corrupted it, but it's not because they're corrupted directly by the industry. I think it's indirectly through congress. I'd like to get your opinion on something that's always relevant but is time sensitive now. And it's dietary guidelines for America. And the reason I'm saying it's time sensitive is because the current administration will be releasing dietary guidelines for America pretty soon. And there's lots of discussion about what those might look like. How can they help guide food policy and industry practices to support healthier children and families? It's one of the bigger levers the government has. The biggest is a program SNAP or food stamps. But beyond that, the dietary guidelines set the rules for government spending and food. So, I think often the way the dietary guidelines are portrayed isn't quite accurate. People think of it in terms of the once (food) Pyramid now the My Plate that's there. That's the public facing icon for the dietary guidelines. But really a very small part. The dietary guidelines are meant to help shape federal policy, not so much public perception. It's there. It's used in education in our schools - the (My) Plate, previously the (Food) Pyramid. But the main thing is it should shape what's served in government feeding programs. So principally that should be SNAP. It's not. But it does affect the WIC program- Women, Infants and Children, the school meals program, all of the military spending on food. Indeed, all spending by the government on food are set, governed by, or directed by the dietary guidelines. Now some of them are self-executing. Once the dietary guidelines change the government changes its behavior. But the biggest ones are not. They require rulemaking and in particular, today, one of the most impactful is our kids' meals in schools. So, whatever it says in these dietary guidelines, and there's reason to be alarmed in some of the press reports, it doesn't automatically change what's in school meals. The Department of Agriculture would have to write a rule and say that the dietary guidelines have changed and now we want to update. That usually takes an administration later. It's very rare one administration could both change the dietary guidelines and get through the rulemaking process. So, people can feel a little reassured by that. So, how do you feel about the way things seem to be taking shape right now? This whole MAHA movement Make America Healthy Again. What is it? To me what it is we've reached this tipping point we talked about earlier. The how sick we are, and people are saying, 'enough. Our food shouldn't make us sick at middle age. I shouldn't have to be spending so much time with my doctor. But particularly, it shouldn't be hard to raise my kids to 18 without getting sick. We really need to fix that and try to deal with that.' But I think that the MAHA movement is mostly that. But RFK and some of the people around them have increasingly claimed that it means some very specific things that are anti-science. That's been led by the policies around vaccine that are clearly anti-science. Nutrition is more and more interesting. Initially they started out in the exact right place. I think you and I could agree the things they were saying they need to focus on: kids, the need to get ultra-processed food out of our diets, were all the right things. In fact, you look at the first report that RFK and his team put out back in May this year after the President put out an Executive Order. Mostly the right things on this. They again, focus on kids, ultra-processed food was mentioned 40 times in the report as the root cause for the very first time. And this can't be undone. You had the White House saying that the root cause of our food-caused chronic disease crisis is the food industry. That's in a report that won't change. But a lot has changed since then. They came out with a second report where the word ultra-processed food showed up only once. What do you think happened? I know what happened because I've worked in that setting. The industry quietly went to the White House, the top political staff in the White House, and they said, you need to change the report when you come out with the recommendations. And so, the first report, I think, was written by MAHA, RFK Jr. and his lieutenants. The second report was written by the White House staff with the lobbyists of the food industry. That's what happened. What you end up with is their version of it. So, what does the industry want? We have a good picture from the first Trump administration. They did the last dietary guidelines and the Secretary of Agriculture, then Sonny Perdue, his mantra to his staff, people reported to me, was the industries- you know, keep the status quo. That is what the industry wants is they really don't want the dietary guidelines to change because then they have to reformulate their products. And they're used to living with what we have and they're just comfortable with that. For a big company to reformulate a product is a multi-year effort and cost billions of dollars and it's just not what they want to have to do. Particularly if it's going to change from administration to administration. And that is not a world they want to live in. From the first and second MAHA report where they wanted to go back to the status quo away from all the radical ideas. It'll be interesting to see what happens with dietary guidelines because we've seen reports that RFK Jr. and his people want to make shifts in policies. Saying that they want to go back to the Pyramid somehow. There's a cartoon on TV, South Park, I thought it was produced to be funny. But they talked about what we need to do is we need to flip the Pyramid upside down and we need to go back to the old Pyramid and make saturated fat the sort of the core of the diet. I thought it meant to be a joke but apparently that's become a belief of some people in the MAHA movement. RFK. And so, they want to add saturated fat back to our diets. They want to get rid of plant oils from our diets. There is a lot of areas of nutrition where the science isn't settled. But that's one where it is, indeed. Again, you go back only 1950s, 1960s, you look today, heart disease, heart attacks, they're down 90%. Most of that had to do with the drugs and getting rid of smoking. But a substantial contribution was made by nutrition. Lowering saturated fat in our diets and replacing it with plant oils that they're now called seed oils. If they take that step and the dietary guidelines come out next month and say that saturated fat is now good for us it is going to be just enormously disruptive. I don't think companies are going to change that much. They'll wait it out because they'll ask themselves the question, what's it going to be in two years? Because that's how long it takes them to get a product to market. Jerry, let me ask you this. You painted this picture where every once in a while, there'll be a glimmer of hope. Along comes MAHA. They're critical of the food industry and say that the diet's making us sick and therefore we should focus on different things like ultra-processed foods. In report number one, it's mentioned 40 times. Report number two comes out and it's mentioned only once for the political reasons you said. Are there any signs that lead you to be hopeful that this sort of history doesn't just keep repeating itself? Where people have good ideas, there's science that suggests you go down one road, but the food industry says, no, we're going to go down another and government obeys. Are there any signs out there that lead you to be more hopeful for the future? There are signs to be hopeful for the future. And number one, we talked earlier, is the success we had regulating tobacco. And I know you've done an outstanding job over the years drawing the parallels between what happened in tobacco and food. And there are good reasons to do that. Not the least of which is that in the 1980s, the tobacco companies bought all the big food companies and imparted on them a lot of their lessons, expertise, and playbook about how to do these things. And so that there is a tight link there. And we did succeed. We took youth smoking, which was around a 30 percent, a third, when we began work on this in the early 1990s when I was at FDA. And today it's less than 2%. It's one area with the United States leads the world in terms of what we've achieved in public health. And there's a great benefit that's going to come to that over the next generation as all of those deaths are prevented that we're not quite seeing yet. But we will. And that's regardless of what happens with vaping, which is a whole different story about nicotine. But this idea success and tobacco. The food industry has a tobacco playbook about how to addict so many people and make so much money and use their political power. We have a playbook of how to win the public health fight. So, tell us about that. What you're saying is music to my ears and I'm a big believer in exactly what you're saying. So, what is it? What does that playbook look like and what did we learn from the tobacco experience that you think could apply into the food area? There are a couple of areas. One is going to be leadership and we'll have to come back to that. Because the reason we succeeded in tobacco was the good fortune of having a David Kessler at FDA and Al Gore as Vice President. Nothing was, became more important to them than winning this fight against a big tobacco. Al Gore because his sister died at a young age of smoking. And David Kessler became convinced that this was the most important thing for public health that he could do. And keep in mind, when he came to FDA, it was the furthest thing from his mind. So, one of it is getting these kinds of leaders. Did does RFK Jr. and Marty McCarey match up to Al Gore? And we'll see. But the early signs aren't that great. But we'll see. There's still plenty of time for them to do this and get it right. The other thing is having a good strategy and policy about how to do it. And here, with tobacco, it was a complete stretch, right? There was no where did the FDA get authority over tobacco? And indeed, we eventually needed the Congress to reaffirm that authority to have the success we did. As we talked earlier, there's no question FDA was created to make sure processed food and the additives and processed food don't make us sick. So, it is the core reason the agency exists is to make sure that if there's a thing called ultra-processed food, man-made food, that is fine, but we have to thrive when we eat it. We certainly can't be made sick when we eat it. Now, David Kessler, I mentioned, he's put forward a petition, a citizens' petition to FDA. Careful work by him, he put months of effort into this, and he wrote basically a detailed roadmap for RFK and his team to use if they want to regulate ultra-processed stuff food. And I think we've gotten some, initially good feedback from the MAHA RFK people that they're interested in this petition and may take action on it. So, the basic thrust of the Kessler petition from my understanding is that we need to reconsider what's considered Generally Recognized as Safe. And that these ultra-processed foods may not be considered safe any longer because they produce all this disease down the road. And if MAHA responds positively initially to the concept, that's great. And maybe that'll have legs, and something will actually happen. But is there any reason to believe the industry won't just come in and quash this like they have other things? This idea of starting with a petition in the agency, beginning an investigation and using its authority is the blueprint we used with tobacco. There was a petition we responded, we said, gee, you raised some good points. There are other things we put forward. And so, what we hope to see here with the Kessler petition is that the FDA would put out what's called an advanced notice of a proposed rulemaking with the petition. This moves it from just being a petition to something the agency is saying, we're taking this seriously. We're putting it on the record ourselves and we want industry and others now to start weighing in. Now here's the thing, you have this category of ultra-processed food that because of the North Star I talked about before, because the industry, the marketplace has failed and gives them no incentive to make sure that we thrive, that keeps us from getting sick. They've just forgotten about that and put in place profits instead. The question is how do you get at ultra-processed food? What's the way to do it? How do you start holding the industry accountable? Now what RFK and the MAHA people started with was synthetic color additives. That wasn't what I would pick but, it wasn't a terrible choice. Because if you talk to Carlos Monteiro who coined the phrase ultra-processed food, and you ask him, what is an ultra-processed food, many people say it's this industrial creation. You can't find the ingredients in your kitchen. He agrees with all that, but he thinks the thing that really sets ultra-processed food, the harmful food, is the cosmetics that make them edible when they otherwise won't I've seen inside the plants where they make the old fashioned minimally processed food versus today's ultra-processed. In the minimally processed plants, I recognize the ingredients as food. In today's plants, you don't recognize anything. There are powders, there's sludges, there's nothing that you would really recognize as food going into it. And to make that edible, they use the cosmetics and colors as a key piece of that. But here's the problem. It doesn't matter if the color is synthetic or natural. And a fruit loop made with natural colors is just as bad for you as one made with synthetics. And indeed, it's been alarming that the agency has fast tracked these natural colors and as replacements because, cyanide is natural. We don't want to use that. And the whole approach has been off and it like how is this going to get us there? How is this focus on color additives going to get us there. And it won't. Yeah, I agree. I agree with your interpretation of that. But the thing with Kessler you got part of it right but the main thing he did is say you don't have to really define ultra-processed food, which is another industry ploy to delay action. Let's focus on the thing that's making us sick today. And that's the refined carbohydrates. The refined grains in food. That's what's most closely linked to the obesity, the diabetes we're seeing today. Now in the 1980s, the FDA granted, let's set aside sugar and white flour, for example, but they approved a whole slew of additives that the companies came forward with to see what we can add to the white flour and sugar to make it shelf stable, to meet all the taste, cost, and convenience considerations we have. And profit-making considerations we have. Back then, heart disease was the driving health problem. And so, it was easy to overlook why you didn't think that the these additives were really harmful. That then you could conclude whether Generally Recognized as Safe, which is what the agency did back then. What Kessler is saying is that what he's laid out in his petition is self-executing. It's not something that the agency grants that this is GRAS or not GRAS. They were just saying things that have historical safe use that scientists generally recognize it as safe. It's not something the agency decides. It's the universe of all of us scientists generally accept. And it's true in the '80s when we didn't face the obesity and diabetes epidemic, people didn't really focus on the refined carbohydrates. But if you look at today's food environment. And I hope you agree with this, that what is the leading driver in the food environment about what is it about ultra-processed food that's making us so sick? It's these refined grains and the way they're used in our food. And so, if the agency takes up the Kessler petition and starts acting on it, they don't have to change the designation. Maybe at some point they have to say some of these additives are no longer GRAS. But what Kessler's saying is by default, they're no longer GRAS because if you ask the scientists today, can we have this level of refined grains? And they'd say, no, that's just not Generally Recognized as Safe. So, he's pointing out that status, they no longer hold that status. And if the agency would recognize that publicly and the burden shifts where Wiley really always meant it to be, on the industry to prove that there are foods or things that we would thrive on, but that wouldn't make us sick. And so that's the key point that you go back to when you said, and you're exactly right that if you let the industry use their political power to just ignore health altogether and substitute profits, then you're right. Their sort of fiduciary responsibility is just to maximize profits and they can ignore health. If you say you can maximize profits, of course you're a capitalist business, but one of the tests you have to clear is you have to prove to us that people can thrive when they eat that. Thrive as the standard, might require some congressional amplification because it's not in the statute. But what is in the statute is the food can't make you sick. If scientists would generally recognize, would say, if you eat this diet as they intend, if you eat this snack food, there's these ready to heat meals as they intend, you're going to get diabetes and obesity. If scientists generally believe that, then you can't sell that. That's just against the law and the agency needs them to enforce the law. Bush and Bill Clinton. He was a political analyst for PBS and CNN. David Gergen seemed as permanent a fixture as the Washington Monument in Washington D.C. He wrote to extraordinary books Eyewitness to Power, and Hearts Tinged by Fire, which came out when he was 80 years old. I became a fan during the 1990s when he was a commentator alongside Mark Shields at PBS. they were an extraordinary pairing because they were reasonable despite being from opposite political backgrounds, and having decidedly partisan resumes' with the exception Gergen's time with Bill Clinton. David Gergen passed away earlier in 2025, and it marked the end of an era in politics. En nuestro anterior podcast grabado precisamente el 21 de abril, fecha en la que oficialmente murió el papa Francisco les empezamos a hablar de los constructores de números. No encontramos casual que el papa falleciese exactamente ese dia, ya que no es un día cualquiera. Es el Natalis Romae, el aniversario fundacional de Roma, ciudad que desde hace más de dos mil años ha sido el epicentro del poder político, religioso y simbólico de Occidente. Y precisamente hoy, en esta fecha cargada de ritual y resonancia, muere el Papa Francisco. En plena resurrección de Jesucristo, uno muere y el otro renace. ¿Casualidad? En este podcast, ya sabéis que no creemos en ellas. Hoy, en Buscadores de la Verdad, vamos a descifrar lo que muchos pasarán por alto: la profunda e inquietante importancia del número 8 en la vida, el legado y la muerte del Papa. Francisco fue el primer Papa jesuita, el primero procedente de América, el Papa de la Agenda 2030, de las vacunas, de la simplificación de los rituales. Un Papa atípico. Y, como veremos, un Papa marcado por el 8 desde el principio hasta el final. Nació un 17 de diciembre de 1936. Fallece un 21 de abril de 2025. 88 años y 125 días después. Un doble 8 y un 1+2+5 = 8. El símbolo del infinito. El equilibrio kármico. El reinicio del ciclo. Pero no acaba ahí: convertido en el octavo Papa enterrado en Santa María la Mayor, bajo un escudo papal alterado misteriosamente para exhibir una estrella de ocho puntas, su historia está plagada de estos guiños numéricos que parecen trazados por una mano invisible. En este episodio vamos a hablar de arquitectura oculta, de rituales milenarios, de cómo la elite que gobierna entre bambalinas utiliza los números y los símbolos como herramientas para construir la realidad. Y en este caso, el número 8 aparece como la clave de todo. Porque cuando entiendes el lenguaje oculto de los que mandan, sabes que todo está diseñado. Desde las fechas, hasta los funerales. Desde los escudos hasta los silencios del Vaticano. El 21 de abril, Roma celebra su nacimiento... y el Vaticano entierra a su Papa más simbólico. La era de Francisco se cierra en un ciclo perfecto, sellado con un 8. ¿Qué se abre ahora? ¿Qué nuevo paradigma se está gestando en la sombra? Prácticamente desde el principio de este podcast, en el UTP8 Universo fractal ya tratamos la importancia de los números y como estos crean la realidad que vivimos. Son, como dijimos en el anterior podcast, los ladrillos del universo. Leere unos pasajes de la tesina “Los conjuntos numéricos a través de la historia” de Veronica Valdez: “En el pasado la matemática fue considerada una ciencia relacionada directamente a las cantidades, en relación con las magnitudes (desde la geometria); a los números (desde la aritmética) o a la generalización de los dos (desde el álgebra). Las primeras nociones de número y la acción de contar datan de la prehistoria. La causa que originó el desarrollo de este conocimiento en el hombre primitivo fue su necesidad de proteger sus bienes, la adaptación a los ciclos que la madre naturaleza le imponía le aseguraban su alimentación. El hombre prehistórico plasmó los primeros indicios matemáticos en sus vasijas (dibujos geométricos) y sus primeros sistemas de cálculos se basaron en el uso de los dedos de las manos o la utilización del cuerpo, este método resulta evidente al ver que muchos de los sistemas de numeración son de base 5 o 10.” Fueron los egipcios en el tercer milenio antes de cristo los que desarrollan unas matemáticas más avanzadas llegando a plantear problemas complejos como el calculo de superficies, lo cual era vital para el reparto de la tierra fértil fecundada por las crecidas del Nilo. La tierra se movia y cambiaba ligeramente de aspecto y era imprescindible para que reinase el orden que dicho reparto fuera lo mas ajustado a derecho posible. Luego los romanos mejoraron hasta cierto aspecto el uso de jeroglíficos de los egipcios por simples letras. En ese momento se seguía utilizando todavía el sistema babilónico que consistía en escribir en tablillas de arcilla utilizando un palito en forma de cuña. Una cuña apuntaba hacia abajo y la otro hacia la izquierda. El problema consistia en que era un sistema con solo 60 números, lo cual limitaba mucho el calculo mental. Los babilonios utilizaban, eso si, la forma en que cada dígito tenia un valor disitinto dependiendo de la posición que ocupase. El primer sistema matematico que utilizo al mismo tiempo el principio posicional y el cero fue el sistema de los mayas. “En este sistema 1 kin (sol) representa un día, 20 kines forman un huinal. Como 20 huinales representan 400 días, lo cual es mucho mayor que la duración exacta del año (este sistema fue utilizado para cálculos astronómicos), los mayas llamaron tun a 18 huinales, o 360 días. Excepto por este nivel, el resto del sistema es vigesimal.” “No se tiene conocimiento con exactitud cómo surgió, pero se sabe que fue un sistema de numeración mejorado por los hindúes y los árabes lo llevaron a Europa. De esta forma a las cifras se las llamó árabes debido a su origen, de la misma manera que escribirlas de derecha a izquierda (unidad, decena, centena, etc.) Hacia el año 976 Gerberto Aurillac (futuro Papa) conoce las primeras cifras en España, que ya estaba influenciada por la cultura musulmana, pero su influencia fue limitada. En el siglo XII se conoce las primeras traducciones al latin de las obras de un matemático árabe al- Jwarizmi, de quien se conocen los términos algoritmo y guarismo; de esta forma las cifras árabes comienzan a introducirse en el círculo culto europeo. En el año 1202, Fibonacci publica el "Libro del ábaco" que acopía y amplia las cifras y los procedimientos de cálculo utilizados por los árabes. Durante este siglo se consolidó la aritmética decimal sobre todo en los concerniente a las actividades comerciales. Sin embargo el método árabe y sus ventajas para calcular debieron sortear varios inconvenientes por parte de los calculistas de la época que ante la amenaza de un nuevo método mucho más sencillo, que atentaba supuestamente a su fuente de trabajo, recurrieron a estrategias bajas como hacer correr el rumor que el sistema de cálculo árabe tan sencillo, debía tener algo de magia o un cierto poder demoníaco. Esta acusación fue astutamente utilizada en la época de la Inquisición. Recién a fines del siglo XVI con Montaigne comenzó a abrirse paso nuevamente el sistema de numeración árabe y finalmente se generalizó con la Revolución Francesa. A partir de dicho momento histórico se comenzó a utilizar al 10 como base del sistema métrico decimal.” Con todo este resumen vengo a comentar que el enorme poder de los números estaba en poquísimas manos hasta bien entrado siglo 16 y que para ese entonces muchos de los secretos y la simbología que escondían estos paso a ser solo aprendido en las sectas, en las logias y en las futuras universidades que estaban también creadas por los mismos. LA EDUCACION según Lord Bertrand Russell en su obra "La Perspectiva Científica", 1931, nos dice: "Los jesuitas proporcionan una clase de educación a los niños que han de ser hombres corrientes en el mundo, y otra distinta a áquellos que han de llegar a ser miembros de la Compañía de Jesús. De análoga manera, los gobernantes científicos proporcionarán un género de educación a los hombres y mujeres corrientes, y otro diferente a aquéllos que hayan de ser el poder científico. Los hombres y mujeres corrientes es de esperar que sean dóciles, diligentes, puntuales, de poco pensar y que se sientan satisfechos. Por otro lado, aquellos niños y niñas que estén destinados a ser miembros de la clase gobernante, recibirán una educación muy diferente. Serán seleccionados, algunos antes de nacer, otros durante los primeros tres años de vida, y unos pocos entre los tres y seis años. Toda la ciencia conocida se aplicará al desarrollo simultáneo de su inteligencia y de su voluntad. ….." Y es que para todos la ciencia ha sido creada supuestamente por científicos, ¿no? Uno de los parangones mundiales es la Royal Society fundada el 28 de noviembre de 1660 en Londres. Sus fundadores fueron un grupo de 12 científicos y pensadores, entre los que destacan Christopher Wren, Robert Boyle, John Wilkins y William Petty. Lo que no nos cuentan es que el milenarismo y la cábala estaba en los orígenes de la Royal Society. Pero como escribió Boyle, los científicos, "sacerdotes de la naturaleza", habrían de adquirir, durante el milenio, "un conocimiento mucho mayor del que Adán pudo tener del maravilloso universo de Dios". Esta afirmación supone que, en la expectativa de Boyle, la ciencia permitiría alcanzar un estadio más avanzado que el presupuesto por la condición adánica, y acceder, en cierto modo, a la condición divina. Con palabras de la serpiente a Eva, ya había asegurado Bacon en la Nueva Atlántida que algún día los hombres serían como dioses, y ésta habría de ser, decía Lewis Mumford, "la meta final no declarada de la ciencia moderna”. (Noble 1999, pág 88). Dentro de la UNED (la universidad a distancia en España) podemos leer un texto titulado “LA ROYAL SOCIETY Y LA MASONERÍA” que dice asi: “La Royal Society se origina cuando doce hombres cultivados adoptaron la costumbre, poco después de 1640, de reunirse esporádicamente en Londres para conversar y discutir en la residencia de uno de ellos o bien en una taberna próxima al Gresham College. Al poco tiempo, bajo patrocinio del monarca, decidieron crear una asociación para el estudio de los mecanismos de la naturaleza. Para asegurarse de que los dogmas no fueran un obstáculo, desterraron de sus asambleas toda discusión de tintes religiosos y políticos. Y eso a pesar de que los doce fundadores diferían tanto en cuestiones políticas y religiosas, como en experiencia científica y rango social. Entre los nombres de los primeros miembros de la Royal Society se encuentran científicos que dieron nombre a sus descubrimientos; así, la Ley de Hooke, la Ley de Boyle, la construcción de Huygens, las leyes de Newton, el movimiento browniano, y esto sin contar a científicos de menor talla como Christopher Wren, John Eveyn, John Wilkins, Elias Ashmole, John Flamsteed o Edmund Halley. Sin embargo, los hombres que fundaron esta Sociedad no sólo fueron los primeros científicos, sino, al mismo tiempo, los últimos "magos". De hecho, Ashmole pertenecía a una sociedad de rosacruces y practicaba la astrología, Newton estudió y escribió acerca de los conceptos alquímicos de los rosacruces, y Hooke llevó a cabo experimentos con arañas y cuernos de unicornio.” Mucho antes John Dee, el asesor de la reina Isabel I de Inglaterra aunque no participó directamente en la creación de la Royal Society, su legado como defensor de las matemáticas, la navegación y el conocimiento empírico influyó en el ambiente intelectual que dio lugar a esta institución. Su reputación como "mago" y las acusaciones de nigromancia reflejan la percepción de sus prácticas herméticas y adivinatorias, que, aunque controvertidas, eran parte de su búsqueda de conocimiento universal. Recordemos que hoy dia podemos ver en el museo de Londres su piedra de obsidiana negra donde el mismo reconocía que veía a seres de otro mundo con los que decia comunicarse. Dee creo el alfabeto enoquiano, también conocido como el "lenguaje angélico" o "alfabeto mágico" desarrollado por Dee y su colaborador Edward Kelley durante sus sesiones de videncia (scrying) en la década de 1580. Mientras Isabel I valoraba a Dee como consejero (eligió la fecha de su coronación en 1559 basándose en sus cálculos astrológicos), otros lo veían como un charlatán peligroso. Su casa fue saqueada tras su partida a Europa en 1583, y bajo Jacobo I, enemigo de la brujería, Dee perdió ese trato de favor. Su imagen como "mago" inspiró personajes como Próspero en La Tempestad de Shakespeare y perduró en la cultura popular, como en la ópera de Damon Albarn o la canción de Iron Maiden “El Alquimista”. Termino esta entradilla con otro texto de Lord Bertrand Russell extraído de su obra, "El Impacto de la Ciencia en la Sociedad", 1951: "Aunque esta ciencia será estudiada con diligencia, deberá reservarse estrictamente a la clase gobernante. Al populacho no habrá de permitírsele saber cómo fueron generadas sus convicciones. Una vez perfeccionada la técnica, cada gobierno que haya estado a cargo de la educación por una generación, podrá controlar a sus sujetos de forma segura, sin la necesidad de recurrir a ejércitos ni policías. Actualmente, la población del mundo crece a razón de unos 58.000 individuos por día. La guerra, hasta ahora, no ha tenido un gran efecto en este crecimiento, que continuó a lo largo de cada una de las dos guerras mundiales... La guerra hasta la fecha ha sido decepcionante al respecto... pero quizás la guerra bacteriológica resultare más efectiva. Si una peste negra se propagare una vez en cada generación, los sobrevivientes podrían procrear libremente sin llenar al mundo demasiado... La situación seguramente sería poco placentera, pero, ¿qué importa?" ………………………………………………………………………………………. Imagina por un momento que entras en una antigua ciudad del sur de Italia, hace más de dos mil quinientos años. Calles de piedra, templos consagrados a dioses griegos... y una puerta. Una puerta modesta, sin adornos ostentosos, pero con una inscripción grabada con precisión geométrica: "No entre aquí quien no sepa geometría”. Estás ante la escuela de los pitagóricos, una de las sociedades más enigmáticas de la historia antigua. Fundada por Pitágoras de Samos, no era solo una escuela de matemáticas, como a veces se enseña en las aulas. Era una hermandad. Una especie de secta del conocimiento, donde los números eran algo más que herramientas: eran divinidades, principios cósmicos, claves para entender el alma del universo. Los pitagóricos creían que todo en la naturaleza —el movimiento de los astros, los ciclos vitales, incluso la música— respondía a proporciones numéricas. El número uno simbolizaba la unidad, el origen. El dos, la dualidad, lo femenino. El tres, la perfección. El cuatro, la justicia. Y el diez... el número perfecto, resultado de sumar 1+2+3+4. Un número sagrado. Este triángulo tiene cuatro filas y, si las cuentas todas, suma diez puntos. Ese número —el 10— era considerado el número perfecto por los pitagóricos, porque resultaba de la suma de los cuatro primeros números naturales: 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10 Pero esto no era solo una curiosidad matemática. Cada número tenía un significado simbólico y cosmológico: 1 representaba la unidad, el origen, el punto de partida de toda existencia. 2 simbolizaba la dualidad: luz y oscuridad, masculino y femenino, arriba y abajo. 3 era la tríada perfecta, el equilibrio entre los opuestos (principio muy común también en filosofías orientales). 4 simbolizaba la estabilidad, los cuatro elementos (tierra, agua, aire y fuego), las cuatro estaciones, los puntos cardinales. Así, la Tetraktys se convertía en un resumen místico del universo: todo lo que existe puede explicarse a través de esta progresión sagrada. No era un simple dibujo. Los pitagóricos juraban sobre la Tetraktys, como otros juran sobre la Biblia o una constitución. Su fórmula era: "Juro por el que entregó a nuestra alma la Tetraktys, fuente que contiene en sí la raíz y fuente de la eterna naturaleza." ¿Lo notas? No están hablando solo de matemáticas. Están hablando de la naturaleza eterna, de algo fundamental que estructura el cosmos. Este juramento era una especie de sacramento, una alianza con la armonía universal. Utilizaban símbolos que aún hoy reconocemos. La estrella pentagonal, también conocida como pentagrama, era para ellos un emblema de perfección y salud. Cada ángulo de la estrella formaba la razón áurea, ese número casi mágico que sigue apareciendo en la naturaleza, en la arquitectura, en el arte… y, para algunos, incluso en el diseño de logotipos de poderosas organizaciones contemporáneas. Y aquí es donde la cosa se pone interesante. Los pitagóricos dividían a sus miembros en dos categorías: los akusmáticos, que solo escuchaban y obedecían sin cuestionar, y los matemáticos, que accedían a las enseñanzas ocultas. Este modelo jerárquico, basado en el secreto y la iniciación progresiva, suena familiar. Muy familiar. ¿A qué otras organizaciones te recuerda? Algunas sociedades secretas modernas —como ciertas logias masónicas— han heredado no solo la estructura iniciática, sino también muchos símbolos y conceptos pitagóricos. La estrella de cinco puntas, el ojo que todo lo ve, el uso de números y proporciones sagradas, la idea de que el verdadero conocimiento no debe estar al alcance de todos, sino reservado para una élite que lo custodia. La Tetraktys no desapareció con la caída de los pitagóricos. Su simbolismo se filtró a través de corrientes esotéricas posteriores. Por ejemplo: En la Cábala judía, el Árbol de la Vida también parte de una estructura numérica y jerárquica del universo. En la masonería, aunque no se usa directamente la Tetraktys, la idea del triángulo sagrado, la progresión simbólica del número y la veneración de la geometría sagrada están muy presentes. En el hermetismo y el neoplatonismo, se reutiliza el simbolismo pitagórico para hablar de los planos de existencia, del alma y del conocimiento secreto. Incluso en el mundo moderno, algunos investigadores creen que ciertos símbolos corporativos y arquitectónicos siguen patrones de proporción y estructura que tienen su origen, directa o indirectamente, en la Tetraktys. La Tetraktys no era un dibujo bonito. Era una clave esotérica. Un mandala numérico. Una representación del orden invisible que rige el universo. Para los pitagóricos, entenderla era un paso hacia la iluminación intelectual y espiritual. Y ahora, volvamos a los números. Porque hay una historia que suele pasar desapercibida en los libros de texto... Se cuenta que los pitagóricos sabían más de lo que enseñaban. Por ejemplo, que ocultaron deliberadamente conceptos como los números negativos. ¿Por qué? Porque esos números, que hoy usamos sin pensar, eran perturbadores. ¿Cómo podía existir algo menos que nada? ¿Cómo explicar al pueblo llano la idea de restar una cantidad mayor a una menor y obtener un resultado real, aunque invisible? La respuesta fue simple: lo escondieron. Evitaron esas operaciones, redefinieron los problemas, o simplemente los consideraron imposibles. Para ellos, un universo perfecto no podía contener números "erróneos", "oscuros" o "negativos". Así de poderosa era su creencia en la armonía matemática del mundo. Y ahora piensa en esto: ¿cuántas cosas damos hoy por verdaderas sin entenderlas? ¿Cuántas ideas nos han sido negadas por parecer “imposibles”? La sombra de los pitagóricos es alargada. Y si miras con atención, quizá todavía la veas en las instituciones que dirigen el conocimiento, en los rituales simbólicos que acompañan actos de poder, o incluso… en las matemáticas que se enseñan en nuestras escuelas. Porque como decía otro sabio antiguo: la ignorancia no es falta de información, sino la imposición del silencio. ………………………………………………………………………………………. Los terrenos donde se construyó Washington, D.C., eran parte de una zona conocida como "Rome" (Roma) antes de que se estableciera la capital de Estados Unidos. Este nombre se debe a que, en el siglo XVII, un terrateniente llamado Francis Pope, quien era propietario de una parcela en la zona, nombró su propiedad "Rome" en un guiño humorístico a la ciudad de Roma, Italia, y al río Tíber, comparándolo con el río Anacostia o el Potomac. Incluso se dice que Pope se autoproclamó "Papa de Roma" en tono jocoso. Cuando se decidió construir la nueva capital federal en 1790, los terrenos de "Rome" fueron parte de las tierras cedidas por Maryland para crear el Distrito de Columbia. Sin embargo, el nombre "Rome" cayó en desuso con el desarrollo de la ciudad planificada por Pierre Charles L'Enfant y la adopción del nombre "Washington" en honor a George Washington. El hombre que recibió el encargo de diseñar la nueva capital de Estados Unidos en 1791 fue Pierre Charles L’Enfant, un arquitecto y urbanista nacido en Francia que había luchado en la Guerra de Independencia estadounidense junto a George Washington. Era un apasionado de la arquitectura monumental y tenía una visión muy clara: la ciudad debía ser una representación del nuevo orden del mundo. Aunque no hay registros definitivos que lo identifiquen como masón —al contrario que muchos de sus contemporáneos como George Washington, Benjamin Franklin o Thomas Jefferson—, su diseño está repleto de símbolos que son clave en la tradición masónica y pitagórica. Esto ha llevado a muchos estudiosos a pensar que, si no era miembro formal de la masonería, al menos estaba fuertemente influenciado por ella. Cuando observamos desde el aire (o en un plano detallado) el trazado urbano de Washington D.C., comienzan a aparecer formas geométricas muy específicas que nos indican el uso de la geometría sagrada en el plano de la ciudad: La estrella de cinco puntas Una de las figuras más debatidas del diseño de Washington es la estrella pentagonal (el pentagrama), que muchos dicen puede verse trazando líneas entre la Casa Blanca, el Capitolio, y varios otros puntos clave como el Washington Monument y el Jefferson Memorial. El pentagrama es un símbolo ancestral que los pitagóricos veneraban como representación del equilibrio, la salud y la proporción áurea. David has studied Meditation, Yoga, Vegetarian diet, world religions, ancient history, Physics, Math, Astronomy, Alternative Zero Point Energies for over 40 years.  He took physics in school to the college level and continued his studies ever since. In school, he presented his Physics teacher a time dialation theory which his techer admitted was way beyond anything he had seen since Einstein!  In 1990, David began working with MIT physicist Dr. Bogdan Maglich and teamed up with him to promote and fund Maglich's non-radioactive fusion power technology.  David Studied fusion power for over 10 years.  Then Maglich appointed David Sereda as Director of the Los Angeles Based "Tesla Foundation" under whcih David became a Tesla Technology expert and spoke in the united States Congress with Maglich and Company on Fusion Power. I have talked to a whole bunch of people that live in the area in Michigan, two people that work at the airport in Michigan and three people that are actively doing search and rescue down in Asheville, NC. I've spoken to these people, these are not videos that I've seen, etc. There are no FEMA trucks at the airport in Michigan, yet. This is what I got. (Reading from an email) “Richie, I've been a subscriber for a long time. Nothing is onsite currently, but we'll share when it does happen. Local citizens have been wondering about the same question as you and your followers have about this topic…” So I wanted to know, are they there as of yet, right now? And no, they're not. But here's what's going on at the FEMA camp that they say doesn't exist down in North Carolina. He plays video clip - Transcript: FEMA Supervisor: (Being recorded) “I can't tell you.” Local guy: “You can't tell me, or you don't know?” FEMA Supervisor: “Can't tell you.” Local guy: “Because they're saying they're FEMA and they're not.” FEMA Supervisor: “Ok. Have you called your local law enforcement?” Local guy: “No, we've called Washington, DC and FEMA said no, we don't have a site there.” FEMA Supervisor: “They'll never tell you where we are.” “We've had congressmen run up on our people and talk to them crazy. We've had people jump out with machine guns and AK's and machetes and handguns and all types of stuff. So, we're jumpy as hell right now.” Local guy: “Oh, I get it; I believe it.” “Well, nobody here to my knowledge wants to hurt you. It's up in the mountains where people want to stay alone. ‘Leave us alone,' you know, ‘We don't need your help.' FEMA Supervisor: “We've been up there too.” Local guy: “I was trying to clean things up because, for one, your safety and ours (FEMA interjects: “it's important,”) is reflected on somewhere where they're saying they're doing something, and if they're not really doing that, then that affects us and you.”  FEMA Supervisor: “An excellent way to find out if you've got a legitimate federal employee is say, ‘Hey, can I take a picture of your badge?' and watch that person step out…” Local guy: “Right.” “That's the thing, multiple times, this same facility with other people…” FEMA Supervisor: “We've had problems with that facility where people were going in, they had on body cams, they had fake uniforms on with ‘FEMA'. And they were going through asking questions and walking through. So the reason why is because the security already had to deal with that and had to do a security sweep. So they're very alert, extremely alert. A lot of those guys come out of a correctional office, probably correctional jails, and federal facilities. So they're jumpy as hell and they're looking for a reason to box somebody up. They want that body.” End of clip. Back to Richie: You see what he says here? Correctional officers, federal facilities. They're jumpy as hell. They're looking for a reason to box somebody up. They want that body. They want to kill somebody. He shows another video here: This is from JW TV. Somebody sent me this footage earlier, but it's easier where I'm at in my current studio to steal his video. JW. TV. He drives around in the van and makes videos. But this is the FEMA facility in North Carolina and its massive and it looks exactly what was described that's going to be at the airport in Michigan. And I know the reason why; I know the exact reason why. This makes complete military sense. You see this? There's no homeless people, there's no people that were being rescued from the waters. There's no homeless children here. You know what I mean? They're not helping people here. They're staging. They're staging here... Well, let me explain it to you. (He shows a map with a circular colored graph around the New Madrid noting ‘slight damage', ‘moderate damage', ‘severe damage' and ‘catastrophic damage' that the effect of an earthquake would make in circumference to the epicenter.) He goes on to say, pointing on the map, they're staging here, and then they're going to stage here. Michigan is up here in the ‘slight damage' or ‘Green Zone', and down here in North Carolina is also the Green Zone. They're going to set off the New Madrid fault line. I said this about a month or so ago when the rain started. I said these guys are purposefully flooding out the entire New Madrid fault line (zone). They're oversaturating the land with water, and they've been doing drills there four times this year. (Saturation by weather manipulation empowers the quake. They are trying to saturate areas they want to spread the damage to. Water is heavy and it does not compress.) In 2024, the Army Corps of Engineers have done drills there. They're drilling there because they're going to set it off and they're going to set it off because of many things. It'll kill a lot of people. They're not there to help people. They're not staging ahead of time because they know an earthquake is coming. It doesn't work like that. They're going to set it off and maybe this will help you make more sense out of it. Check this out. Our source confirmed that FEMA's actions in Michigan are following this same exact blueprint. Now, I know I keep saying that, but that's very important. But how would they know that the New Madrid fault line is ready to go in a very big way? Well you see, they, like I said, they have been running constant drills on this fault line as of 2024. More than they've ever done in previous years, and FEMA has actually been crunching the numbers. They've been crunching the totals of how much everything will cost; the disasters, the people that would lose their lives and so forth. The University of Kentucky created a 57-page PDF that calculates and tells us everything that would occur if an 8.0 or greater earthquake were to strike the New Madrid fault line. And I'll go ahead and pin that in the comment section below and also pin that in the description of this video. That PDF will be very, very important.” “So what is the goal here? What is the agenda? Why do certain organizations know that this fault line is going to go well in advance. Well, let's go ahead and take a look at something. This simulation, and like I said, there's been a lot of simulations in 2024 on the New Madrid fault line computer and physical simulations. But let's take a look at this computer simulation created by the USGS on April 4, 2024. Take a look at the simulation. You can see the earthquake starting in Blytheville, and as the earthquake starts to spread out, the heaviness of this earthquake, the intensity of the earthquake starts to fade away, heading in multiple locations. But the brunt of this earthquake, the intensity of this earthquake,  heads directly to Little Rock, AR; South Arkansas.” “Now, isn't it rather interesting that a month ago news broke out, letting us all know that Arkansas has a giant hidden source of lithium? (The same reason they struck NC.) Matter of fact, Arkansas has the world's most lithium. Looking at this map, this is where the world's most lithium is located, and looking at the USGS simulation of this earthquake well, again this is where the intensity of this earthquake will be heading. Is this a coincidence? I don't know.” “Well, here is a rather interesting article by the USGS. The same USGS that gave us this very interesting simulation. This article was published on October 21, 2024, a little less than a month ago. It is titled: Unlocking Arkansas' Hidden Treasure: USGS Uses Machine Learning to Show Large Lithium Potential in the Smackover Formation. This Smackover Formation again, is located in South Arkansas. Reading from the article, it says using a combination of water testing and machine learning, a U.S. Geological Survey led study estimated between 5 and 19 million tons of lithium reserves are located beneath Southwestern Arkansas. If commercially recoverable, the amount of lithium present would meet projected 2030 world demand for lithium in car batteries 9 times over.” End of video clip Back to Richie: OK, because of my limited studio right here, you're gonna have to look up the Army Corps of Engineers doing 4 separate drills on the New Madrid fault line this year alone. The army doesn't do that. They'll do a drill. You get one and that's it. They're doing this drill, where they should be over in Asheville, recovering people, but they're not going to recover people. I spoke to somebody who's been doing real search and rescue in Asheville the entire time. They've got over 10,000 bodies. The MSM doesn't even talk about it anymore and they left off telling us a number of 200. Ten thousand people got murdered. These people were standing there and all of a sudden a wall of water just washes them away. I mean, it's horrific; it's heart wrenching. And they're going to do this to a massive area and they're going to do this soon because, A: They're staging FEMA. There'll be another state over here in the Green Zone that we won't hear about because the guy that works at the airport up in Michigan spilled the beans. How do we know that? Because he was giving a press conference. He was just talking matter of fact, no big deal. ‘Yeah, FEMA is coming here, they're taking over the building. We have got to move someplace else.' I cannot stress that enough…     DS Scientists Conspire to Set Off Huge Earthquakes Sandy Shaw - 10/18/11 (David's notes in red) I dreamed I was sitting and listening to a group of scientists argue and they were talking over my head with their scientific words. Half of the scientists were arguing, "We should not do that because we don't know what the ramifications of that are, nor do we know what chain reactions will take place". In the dream, I didn't know what "that" was referring to. The other half of the scientists begin arguing that they do know the outcome of that, as they have calculations and results from the previous times they have done it. One man from the group speaking against it interjected loudly with, "Not of this magnitude!". (Magnitude of course speaks of earthquakes. Will they set off a “chain reaction” of faults that all effect one another. They prepared them to do this. Sandy Shaw and Rick Sergent had almost the same revelation that quakes would cross the US in a chain reaction. Eve Brast had a revelation that 7 big quakes would go around the world. I believe they would use here a combination of HAARP, fracking, and their underground tunneling and explosions down those tunnels to connect faults as they have already done. Two of our brethren watched them deep penetration bombing the eastern fault line to get a portion of it ready. Also, they would use their Tesla frequency earthquake machines that they have underground.) There are many scriptures, dreams and visions that speak of Jesus coming in the Man-child body of reformers at the time of large earthquakes crossing the US. I received this text that points out that when the Lord comes in spiritual Judah as the Man-child, the waters recede. Psa 114:1-8 When Israel went forth out of Egypt, The house of Jacob from a people of strange language; 2 Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion. 3 The sea saw it, and fled; The Jordan was driven back. 4 The mountains skipped like rams, The little hills like lambs. (The presence of the Lord causes earthquakes and the sea to flee away.) 5 What aileth thee, O thou (Red) sea, that thou fleest? Thou Jordan, that thou turnest back? (Looks like an earthquake and tsunami.) 6 Ye mountains, that ye skip like rams; Ye little hills, like lambs? 7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the God of Jacob, 8 Who turned the rock into a pool of water, The flint into a fountain of waters. I received this about a witness showing the gulf waters receding at least a half a mile out of Tampa Bay and Coral bay and other areas for over 12 hours. (This is proof that God can do this. This was seen in areas of the world where there wasn't a hurricane too, like it was at the Red Sea)  HURRICAN IAN UPDATE - NO WATER AT THE COAST IN THE GULF OF MEXICO We will notice that the great shaking is accompanied by the coming of Jesus in the Man-child and the change of fortunes for God's people as they go into the wilderness. This shaking of all nations happens at the birth of the Man-child reformer ministry. I am convinced that we must be entitled to the Passover of this judgment, which was paid for by Jesus, when it does come. Make sure your heart is right with God and your brethren by abiding in Jesus Christ.)   Earthquakes & Refuge Dream by Sandy Shaw - May 2011 Notes: [David | Deb Horton] In a dream, I saw the NYC skyline from a distance and it was shaking. All the skyscrapers and buildings were going back and forth. (This is the eastern fault line and the second most populous area in the US. God heard the prayers and it will not happen except for a small portion around TN.) I was taken near to the center of the nation where I could see both coasts of the country and I was hovering over a large crack in the ground. (New Madrid) I was facing south, with the Great Lakes behind me and the crack went all the way down to the Gulf of Mexico. The ground began shaking and the new cracks began forming going back toward the East coast, moving in all directions like a fan very quickly. The shaking was constant from this point on but at different times it slowed down, becoming soft like tremors, and at other times it was shaking hard, violently. As the cracks were moving, they reached about half of the distance of the large crack (New Madrid) and then my attention was drawn to the right of me and I looked west of the New Madrid crack and saw cracks going in all directions toward the West Coast. They were cracks of many different sizes and they stopped at different places as they hit other cracks and then headed in different directions and some went all the way to the San Andreas fault in California. As these cracks hit the San Andreas, the ground was rising and falling to meet each other like hands coupling together as they join and then separate. California was shaking hard and at the same time so was the New Madrid area. The cracks began separating the areas where Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky meet and went all the way over to North Carolina. These cracks and many more are what isolate the boat-shaped piece of land in the Tennessee Valley and then I saw the crack around the boat fill with water. (Note: Although this italicized portion is a true prophetic dream, by God's grace it will not come to pass at this time, to the DS's dismay.) This is where I turned around to look at the Great Lakes, or where they were supposed to be, and all the water began rushing down, filling up all the areas in the center of the nation that have been affected by all the quakes.   It emptied these areas that split the U.S. Water flooded in from the Gulf of Mexico, as well. When all the flooding was done, many portions of the US were under water (the map below of dark areas roughly drawn). (Sandy said some of this water may be temporary but some will stay.) (This Italicised is not coming now.) ...During this dream, everything was happening in fast motion, but I knew that in reality it would happen over a slightly longer period of time. (We have heard that the Craton plate is drifting to the West, which would open up some faults that were before slip faults. This could be happening over a short period of time.) I had the exact same dream three times over a period of three months. This is important. Joseph said: Gen.41:32 And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh, it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass. To sum this up, Sandy said that the New Madrid began to quake and then the West coast began to shake and Tennessee shook. Sandy said this sequence would happen over a longer period of time than in her dream but she didn't believe it was a very long period.     Confirmation of Earthquake Sequence Rick Sergent In March of 2011, I was given this vision from the Lord: I saw the word “Earthquake” suspended over a map of the United States. Three golden rods came from the word Earthquake. (Again, the Italicised is not coming now) One pointed to what I thought was just north of Washington, D.C. but was difficult to determine because it was more like a geography map and not showing cites. (The Eastern fault literally damaged the Washington Monument but the Lord annulled this major quake.) The second pointed to the Midwest (the New Madrid) and the third pointed to California. This seems to indicate the possibility of a series of quakes indicated in Sandy Shaw's dream, in a simpler form in my vision. (She mentioned these same places plus a lesser-known seismic zone in a boat shape in the TN Valley. I believe FEMA will not operate in the TN valley because Tren De Aragua terrorists have been sent instead. https://fox17.com/news/local/tbi-names-major-cities-in-tenn-infiltrated-by-violent-venezuelan-gang  However the Lord has said His angels have taken them down in Nashville and in Knoxville and Chattanooga in the East TN Valley.)     Confirmation Alenna Timoshchuk - 9/5/21 (David's notes in red) In my dream I started watching the weather report. I saw a map of the United States. There were three red dots on the right side of the U.S. going in a line from up to down. (This confirms Sandy's N.Y. quake dream that revealed that the large quakes would begin on the East Coast at NY in the U.S. This one was prayed down when the asteroid was to hit the fault line at Puerto Rico but God veered it out into space.) Then many red, zig zag lines spread out from each dot. It showed a great earthquake that was about to happen. (This is the New Madrid quake that is coming.) The weather man mentioned 3 states but I only remember Virginia and Louisiana, although when I looked up the map, Louisiana didn't make sense to me because that's not where the third dot was in the image I saw in my dream. (I believe her red dot was on the upper part of the eastern fault line. This old fault line is the NY/Alabama anomaly which goes through “Virginia” (confirmed) and it was found later to go through Alabama to “Louisiana” (confirmed) and into the Gulf where the BP oil well blew out under extreme pressure. This may have well lubricated this fault. I believe only a portion of this fault line will fall away which is where our two brethren saw them bunker buster bombing it in the Eastern TN Valley. But also Louisiana is around the Mississippi River coming from the New Madrid.) Then I saw the U.S. splitting from the point where those 3 dots (now 2 dots) were, moving in the shape of an L, going upwards. I was paying close attention to part of Tennessee because it looked like it was becoming an island (The TN Valley becomes a peninsula, almost an island.), and I wanted to make sure the state where we lived would be okay. Then I woke up. (Heb 12:26, ...Yet once more will I make to tremble not the earth only, but also the heaven.) More confirmations of the Lord coming in His Man-child body of reformers in the midst of great earthquakes. Psa 18:7 Then the earth shook and trembled; The foundations also of the mountains quaked And were shaken, because he was wroth. 8 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, And fire out of his mouth devoured: Coals were kindled by it. 9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down; And thick darkness was under his feet. This text is spoken against the King of Babylon DS, in Isa 14:4, the DS leadership, who are satanists under satan. But as we have heard God is going to have mercy because it was asked of Him.)         Earthquakes & Refuge Dream by Sandy Shaw - May 2011     Notes: [ David | Deb Horton ]   In a dream, I saw the NYC skyline from a distance and it was shaking. All the skyscrapers and buildings were going back and forth. (This is the east coast Faultline we have been speaking of.)   Then it was as if NYC zoomed in closer and I saw all the buildings collapsing. Many people were dying all around me. I saw the ground really shaking, vibrating and cracks were starting to form. I looked up and saw many piles of rubble from the fallen buildings and then the ground started buckling and moving the piles of rubble. At that time, I started seeing fire come up from out of the ground. I was observing this from very far up in the air and was able to see very far into the distance.   As I saw fire erupting from the ground, the Lord took me closer and I was then positioned right over the fires, looking down into the fire. I could feel the heat on my face and at first I thought it was gas lines erupting that were causing the fire. As I got closer, I saw what looked like red hot mud or clay with flames and it was oozing out of the buckling cracks of rubble. (This could be volcanic action of lava. Chuck Thacker said that an earthquake fault was discovered directly under NYC in the 1920s by a subway construction crew. They reported a crevasse so deep that they could not hear anything they dropped in hit the bottom. Some way they poured concrete over it and continued. This fault is under 14th Street, which runs from 1st Avenue to 11th Avenue in Manhattan. This is speculated to be the hardened dome of a lava bubble, a really big lava bubble. The subway line was moved over enough to where they found footing to continue. We used to ride the train there all the time.)  (Remember, the magnitude of all judgments will be lessened.) I saw these cracks (likened to a glass breaking) headed from the East coast toward the center of the nation to the New Madrid fault. There were small, large and gigantic cracks heading toward the eastern side of the New Madrid fault line. (These cracks are called "spider legs".)   I was taken near to the center of the nation where I could see both coasts of the country and I was hovering over a large crack in the ground. I was facing south, with the Great Lakes behind me and the crack went all the way down to the Gulf of Mexico. The ground began shaking and the new cracks began forming going back toward the East coast, moving in all directions like a fan very quickly. The shaking was constant from this point on but at different times it slowed down, becoming soft like tremors, and at other times it was shaking hard, violently.   As the cracks were moving, they reached about half of the distance of the large crack (New Madrid) and then my attention was drawn to the right of me and I looked west of the New Madrid crack and saw cracks going in all directions toward the West coast. They were cracks of many different sizes and they stopped at different places as they hit other cracks and then headed in different directions and some went all the way to the San Andreas fault in California. As these cracks hit the San Andreas, the ground was rising and falling to meet each other like hands coupling together as they join and then separate. California was shaking hard and at the same time so was the New Madrid area. The cracks began separating the areas where Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky meet and went all the way over to North Carolina. These cracks and many more are what isolate the boat-shaped piece of land in the Tennessee Valley and then I saw the crack around the boat fill with water.   This is where I turned around to look at the Great Lakes, or where they were supposed to be, and all the water began rushing down, filling up all the areas in the center of the nation that have been affected by all the quakes. It emptied these areas that split the U.S. Water flooded in from the Gulf of Mexico, as well. When all the flooding was done, many portions of the US were under water. (Sandy said some of this water may be temporary but some will stay.)   ...During this dream, everything was happening in fast motion, but I knew that in reality it would happen over a slightly longer period of time. (We have heard that the Craton plate is drifting to the West, which would open up many faults. This could be happening over a short period of time.) I had the exact same dream three times over a period of three months. Joseph said: Gen.41:32 And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh, it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.   To sum this up, Sandy said that the NYC quake will begin the sequence, then the New Madrid began to quake and then the West coast began to shake and Tennessee shook. Sandy said this sequence would happen over a longer period of time than in her dream but she didn't believe it was a very long period.  (Again the Lord said He would lessen this magnitude because of His grace.)       Confirmation     Rick Sergent   In March of 2011, I was given this vision from the Lord: I saw the word “Earthquake” suspended over a map of the United States. Three golden rods came forth from the word Earthquake. One pointed what I thought was just north of Washington, D.C. but was difficult to determine because it was more like a geography map and not showing cites. (The Eastern fault literally damaged the Washington Monument a few years ago.) The second pointed to the Midwest (New Madrid) and the third pointed to California. This seems to indicate the possibility of a series of quakes indicated in Sandy Shaw's dream, in a simpler form in my vision. (She mentioned these same places plus a lesser-known seismic zone in a boat shape in the TN Valley.)         Confirmation     Alenna Timoshchuk - 9/5/21 (David's notes in red)   In my dream I started watching the weather report. I saw a map of the United States. There were three red dots on the right side of the U.S. going in a line from up to down. (This confirms Sandy's N.Y. quake dream that revealed that the large quakes would begin on the East coast at NY in the U.S..) Then many red, zig zag lines spread out from each dot. It showed a great earthquake that was about to happen. (This is the New Madrid quakes that come after NY.)   The weather man mentioned 3 states but I only remember Virginia and Louisiana, although when I looked up the map, Louisiana didn't make sense to me because that's not where the third dot was in the image I saw in my dream. (I believe her red dot was on the upper part of the Faultline. This old Faultline is the NY/Alabama anomaly which goes through “Virginia” (confirmed) and it was found later to go through Alabama to “Louisiana” (confirmed) and into the Gulf where the BP oil well blew out under extreme pressure. This may have well lubricated this fault.)   Then I saw the U.S. splitting from the point where those 3 dots were, moving in the shape of an L, going upwards. I was paying close attention to Tennessee because it looked like it was becoming an island (Part of it becomes a peninsula, almost an island.), and I wanted to make sure the state where we lived would be okay. (It will be more than OK.) Then I woke up. (Heb 12:26, ...Yet once more will I make to tremble not the earth only, but also the heaven.)   More confirmations of the Lord coming in His Man-child body of reformers in the midst of great earthquakes.   Psa 18:7 Then the earth shook and trembled; The foundations also of the mountains quaked And were shaken, because he was wroth. 8 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, And fire out of his mouth devoured: Coals were kindled by it. 9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down; And thick darkness was under his feet.   Isa 13:11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity: and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. 12 I will make a man more rare than fine gold, even a man than the pure gold of Ophir.13 Therefore I will make the heavens to tremble, and the earth shall be shaken out of its place, in the wrath of Jehovah of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger. (The Day of the Lord's wrath is twice, after the tribulation of the Bride, at the beginning of the 7-year tribulation and after the tribulation of the Church at the end of the tribulation.)   Isa 24:16 From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs: Glory to the righteous. But I said, I pine away, I pine away, woe is me! the treacherous have dealt treacherously (The DS Judas' destroy their own people with these quakes.); yea, the treacherous have dealt very treacherously. 17 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.   18 And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble. 19 The earth is utterly broken, the earth is rent asunder, the earth is shaken violently.   20 The earth shall stagger like a drunken man, and shall sway to and fro like a hammock; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it, and it shall fall, and not rise again. (Will it fall past the 23.5 degrees?) 21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that Jehovah will punish the host of the high ones on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth. (The DS leadership is being destroyed) 22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison; and after many days shall they be visited. (At the end of 1000 years they will be visited and brought to the Great White Throne Judgment.)   This text is spoken against the King of Babylon, in Isa 14:4, the DS leadership, who are satanists under satan. Satan and his fallen angels are being cast down from heaven as in Rev 12 by the warfare of the saints. Also in Isa 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O day-star, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, that didst lay low the nations! (As Satan has used the DS to do, using the might of the U.S.)   13 And thou saidst in thy heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God (usurping authority over the saints.); and I will sit upon the mount of congregation (He wants Mt. Zion's authority), in the uttermost parts of the north; 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High. 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to Sheol, to the uttermost parts of the pit.   16 They that see thee shall gaze at thee, they shall consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; (Notice “A man” representing a corporate DS man, inhabited by Satan.) 17 that made the world as a wilderness, and overthrew the cities thereof; that let not loose his prisoners to their home? 18 All the kings of the nations, all of them, sleep in glory, everyone in his own house. 19 But thou art cast forth away from thy sepulcher like an abominable branch, clothed with the slain, that are thrust through with the sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a dead body trodden under foot. 20 Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, thou hast slain thy people; the seed of evil-doers shall not be named for ever.   Joel 3:15 The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining. 16 And Jehovah will roar from Zion (Notice His presence is on the earth in Zion.), and utter his voice from Jerusalem (The Bride); and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but Jehovah will be a refuge unto his people, and a stronghold to the children of Israel.   Nah 1:5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt; and the earth is upheaved at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. 6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken asunder by him. 7 Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that take refuge in him.        San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge Quake     Michael Boldea Jr. – 2/3/2006   (Isa 24:19-20) The earth is violently broken, the earth is split open, the earth is shaken exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall totter like a hut; Its transgression shall be heavy upon it, and it will fall, and not rise again.   While I was in Romania, one night after my devotions I went to bed, exhausted and in need of much sleep …My body ached, and all I really wanted was to get some good rest.   As I fell into a deep sleep I had a dream. I dreamt I was in a hotel room, asleep, when the bed began to shake violently. I knew what was happening right away. Having lived in California in the 1980s I was keenly aware of what an earthquake felt like. Suddenly I was no longer in bed, but high above San Francisco Bay, looking down on the Golden Gate Bridge. As I watched it, it began to shudder, break apart, and fall into the waters below. I continued to watch the devastation, seeing buildings collapse, and masses of people trying to find shelter. Then a voice spoke out of the heavens, a voice I had never heard before, a voice of great authority: "I will shake this land from its foundations, such as the eyes of this generation have not seen. The world will stand in awe, and tremble in fear, as even the very geography of this nation will be transformed. My wrath is ready to be poured out, for sin has overrun My temple".   In my dream I began to weep, not due to the devastation I was seeing, but due to the great power of the voice I was hearing. I woke up trembling, unable to breathe, and tired as I was, I could not go to sleep again.   Shortly before sunrise, my phone began to ring, and when I answered it, it was my brother Daniel. "Are you awake?" he asked, "Yes", I answered.   "I had a dream last night", he continued, "it was a terrible dream. I dreamt of a big earthquake coming to America".   When I told him I'd had the same dream, he was silent for some time, then said, "I'm coming over so we can pray".   He had just arrived at my apartment, when my phone rang again. It was a brother from 200 kilometers away, who is prophetically gifted, and has spoken many words over me that have come to pass.   "Is this Mike?" When I answered in the affirmative, he said, "I had a dream last night, and I felt I needed to call and tell you about it. I dreamt of a terrible earthquake in your country. I saw a big bridge that just collapsed; I saw destruction as I have never seen before. Does this mean anything to you?"   It took me some time to find something to say. I was speechless, and could find no words. On the same night, three different people had the same dream, with the same vivid details. Knowing that the brother had a prayer group that met nightly, I asked him to remember America in their prayers whenever they prayed, and he said he would. Before he hung up he said, "Mike, I've had many dreams in my life, the Lord willed it so, but none has scared me as the dream I had last night. Only God can protect someone through something like that; there is no other hope but to run to Him".   No matter what may come upon this land, we know that God abides with His faithful, keeping them, guiding them, and protecting them. Events will begin to unfold upon this earth, that will make even the mightiest of men tremble in fear, but knowing that we have a shelter from the storm, a sovereign God who watches over us, fearlessly we press on faithful in all that He asks of us.  (Remember, the magnitude of all judgments will be lessened. He will have mercy.) (Psa 91:7-11) A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your habitation, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.         Great Quake & Tsunami     Shirley Hinkle - 9/1/20   (David's notes in red)       Word given on 9/1/2006 - Do You Trust Me?     It's with a heavy heart I write this. God has spoken into my heart again that the day is coming very quickly of a massive earthquake that will cause a great, massive tsunami. There is going to be massive destruction; no place to bury the dead.   He said to me again, "It's Time! Out of death will come resurrection life!" (Resurrection life as a revival comes, more or less, after every catastrophe like this.)   We will be surrounded by death and destruction, but it will not come nigh unto us if we dwell in the secret place. Great fear will come, overwhelming even the strongest, but with this God will pour out His peace and His perfect love will come and cast out all fear.   He has set us apart to be His voice in the last days. Those who have been obedient to come out from among them and be ye separate.   "When the flood of destruction comes remember the words I have spoken in Isaiah 54. (This chapter emphasizes endurance in trial, protection and perfection.)   A massive flood will sweep over the land and as in the natural so shall it be in the spiritual, I will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh! (This came also at the beginning and end of the Gospels. An outpouring of the Former Rain came to the Man-child, Jesus, at the beginning and to the saints at the end, symbolizing the Latter Rain coming before and after the first 3 1/2 years of the tribulation.)   The judgment on this state, this nation, is to redeem fallen man, the backslidden church. It is to awake, stir, shake, change His people!   It is the end of all things as you know it, all shall be new. Even though you are reading the last chapters and the end of the book it is really just the beginning. For I am the Beginning and the End... (Notice once again the Beginning and End are emphasized. He will come as the Latter Rain in the beginning to anoint the man-child ministry and at the end of 3 1/2 years to anoint those raised up by them.   He will come after two days or 2000 years, on the morning of the third day or third thousand years. Hos 6:2 After two days will he revive us: on the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live before him. 3 And let us know, let us follow on to know Jehovah: his going forth is sure as the morning; and he will come unto us as the rain, as the latter rain that watereth the earth. He will begin the last 3 1/2 years with the mark of the Beast to separate the righteous from the wicked, the Latter Rain outpouring and judgment.) There is no time to eternity..." Wow, what a thought.   His Name will be glorified again. His Word will become flesh again through His Repented Church! God will be Glorified!   He is a Father to the fatherless so when you can't reach out to man in this time, remember to call upon your Heavenly Father and He will be an ever-present help in the time of trouble.   As with Jesus when he was raised from the dead, the angel rolled the stone away and there was a great earthquake... again God is going to roll away the stone of death in the church, with an earthquake and resurrection life will come forth. Mat 28:2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled away the stone, and sat upon it.   Jesus will reveal Himself again. Truth will be spoken from the pulpits and in the streets again. The church will repent and cry out for righteousness. She will hunger for His presence. He will be manna from heaven again to His people.   Great darkness is here, but God in all of His Glory is going to shine upon His children. The Church, the True, Repentant, will Stand in these final days.   We are to remain in the city... We are going to be endowed with power from on high. We are not going to run away in fear but STAND and be a witness to this final generation, in this final hour.   It's Time, and the question He is asking all of us in this hour is... DO YOU TRUST ME?         Escaping Martial Law and God's Tsunamis     Sandy Shaw - 8/9/2016   (David's notes in red)     In a dream I had two times (Joseph said when a dream is doubled this means it would surely come to pass.) I was standing in Corona, California, on 6th St. I heard planes that shot missiles. I saw them hit the buildings and explode. I also saw military men walking on foot with their rifles, amongst a lot of chaos. (The DS military will use the chaos due to the earthquakes and tsunamis to try to bring the U.S. and Christians back under their control but, for the true Christians, it will be like Pharaoh trying to recapture the Israelites at the Red Sea. The dreams have said the radical Islamists and the anarchists and invaders over the southern border will cause chaos to help the DS. Yes, the Chinese Communists are here to cause chaos but the biggest part of this threat has been put down by the angels. Martial law will also be enforced. The DS takes advantage of every catastrophe to attack their enemies. This is a Civil War.)   People were running everywhere. The military were either shooting or arresting people. (Like the DS did at Maui and Paradise and Chile) I knew that those being arrested were going to FEMA camps. (I believe they will be arresting the right wing, many Christians and their leaders, or people whose land they were stealing to make smart cities, being removed and imprisoned, as God said would happen in the Word, dreams, visions and prophecies.)   David: Missy Pollock emailed me concerning martial law, saying, "When I got back from the prayer meeting this morning, the sound of locusts got my attention. What came to mind was the Joel northern army (who were likened to locusts for multitude). I then thought about Ezekiel 17 where it talks about civil war between the two eagles, which represent the U.S.   "I remembered that I had received Ezekiel 17 verses a lot recently. Most recently I asked the Lord if martial law was going to happen and I received on 8/05/16 Eze.17:12 Say now to the rebellious house, Know ye not what these things mean? tell them, Behold, the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and took the king thereof (The apostate Zedekiah leadership), and the princes thereof, and brought them to him to Babylon. (Martial law could partially fulfill this captivity of the apostates to the King of Babylon before their complete fall. But I don't doubt they will arrest leaders of the Church and/or burn Churches.) I asked if martial law was going to come through civil unrest and received three heads for a "yes". (I did, too.)   "The other two times were on 7/23/16 I received verse 23 and on 7/31/16 verse 24. All these verses were my verses for the prayer meeting on those days". Eze.17:22 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also take of the lofty top of the cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and I will plant it upon a high and lofty mountain: (This represents the rise of the Man-child reformer ministries on spiritual Mt. Zion.) 23 in the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it; and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all birds of every wing (All nations of Christians); in the shade of the branches thereof shall they dwell. 24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I, Jehovah, have brought down the high tree (The proud false apostate leaders), have exalted the low tree (The humble Man-child reformer leadership), have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish; I, Jehovah, have spoken and have done it.   After martial law takes apostate Christianity captive in parts of the country and the government falls at the quakes on DC and the East Coast, the Man-child government will begin to rise up for God's people, as in history: Isa 9:5 For all the armor of the armed man in the tumult, and the garments rolled in blood, shall be for burning, for fuel of fire. 6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (A dual prophecy of Jesus the Man-child and Jesus in the corporate body Man-child in these days.) 7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from henceforth even forever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this. The Son of God came in a body of the Son of David at the time of the Roman Beast captivity and history will repeat on a larger corporate scale now as Jesus comes in the Man-child.         War in the Chaos and Wilderness     David Eells   In the Midst of the earthquakes and tsunamis the Man-child ministry will be anointed to conquer the DS resurgence and lead God's people into the wilderness Tribulation. Rev 6:2-4 And I saw, and behold, a white horse, and he that sat thereon had a bow; and there was given unto him a crown: and he came forth conquering, and to conquer. (This is the Man-child ministry in whom Jesus lives by Word and Spirit. These will conquer the beast holding God's people in bondage.) 3 And when he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, Come. 4 And another horse came forth, a red horse: and to him that sat thereon it was given to take peace from the earth, and that they should slay one another: and there was given unto him a great sword. (This is a true World War between both entities, DS and Alliance have a world footprint.)   In the chaos of their earthquakes and tsunamis the DS will likely seek to bring the Christians and the country back into submission but it will ultimately be like Pharoah's army at the Red Sea seeking to recover their loss but dying for it. Along with the invaders, President Trump just told me that 1/3rd of the military is still loyal to the DS and he could see them doing this. Exo 14:21-31 And Moses (A type of the Man-child company) stretched out his hand over the sea; and Jehovah caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all the night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.   22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left. 23 And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen. 24 And it came to pass in the morning watch, that Jehovah looked forth upon the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of cloud, and discomfited the host of the Egyptians.   25 And he took off their chariot wheels, and they drove them heavily; so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for Jehovah fighteth for them against the Egyptians. 26 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Stretch out thy hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen. (Waters are likened to peoples in the Word.) 27 And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and Jehovah overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.  I believe this rebellion will be over quickly. 28 And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, even all the host of Pharaoh that went in after them into the sea; there remained not so much as one of them. 29 But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left. 30 Thus Jehovah saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the seashore.   31 And Israel saw the great work which Jehovah did upon the Egyptians, and the people feared Jehovah: and they believed in Jehovah, and in his servant Moses. And from here the Man-child company will lead the Christians worldwide into the wilderness tribulation as a larger repeat of history. According to History Cyrus/Trump will conquer DS Babylon like the waves coming together on Pharoah's army. The Lord in the Man-child company will see to it.   This destruction of the factious Edomites in church and state who hated their brothers will ultimately come to an end by the David Man-child's hands as history repeats. Isa 62:11 Behold, Jehovah hath proclaimed unto the end of the earth, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him (The reward is for His Man-child and Bride to rebuild the Kingdom), and his recompense before him (The destruction of the Edomite factions in government and Church.).  Isa 63:1-3 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, marching in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. 2 Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winevat? 3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the peoples there was no man with me: yea, I trod them in mine anger, and trampled them in my wrath; and their lifeblood is sprinkled upon my garments, and I have stained all my raiment.   The Man-child anointing will take it from there to rebuild the Temple made of sanctified people, which is the Kingdom with the reward.   The war and the natural destruction will bring the world to a wilderness state for God's people to be matured worldwide. Isa 14:17 that made the world as a wilderness, and overthrew the cities thereof; that let not loose his prisoners to their home?   Kathleen received by faith at random Eze 7:23-27 Make the chain; for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence. 24 Wherefore I will bring the worst of the nations, and they shall possess their houses: I will also make the pride of the strong to cease; and their holy places shall be profaned (Churches). 25 Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none. 26 Mischief shall come upon mischief, and rumor shall be upon rumor; and they shall seek a vision of the prophet; but the law shall perish from the priest, and counsel from the elders. 27 The king shall mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with desolation, and the hands of the people of the land shall be troubled: I will do unto them after their way, and according to their deserts will I judge them; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.   While the world goes to war in the flesh we have a different war to fight and it's against the flesh. As Moses and Jesus went through their own wilderness to overcome the devil in order to be qualified to bring God's people through the wilderness tribulation so it is for the Man-child to bring the Church through tribulation.   Mat 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. As Jesus fed the early Church in the wilderness so the later rain Church will be fed by Him through the Man-child body. The wilderness was a place where man's works could not feed or save them. All the apostate Church have are false kingdoms and self-works. They simply do not keep the spiritual Sabbath because they will not cease from fleshly works.   But these cannot save you in the wilderness where only healings and miracles did and can. There they were to learn faith in their Saviour, without which we cannot be well pleasing to God. Exo 5:1 And afterward Moses and Aaron came, and said unto Pharaoh, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness. He also said that they could not sacrifice to God in Egypt, meaning of course under bondage to the old man and building his Egyptian kingdom.   It will be by grace and not works or it will not be acceptable to God. Some time ago I had a vivid dream of a battle on a football field that finished with an open vision. In the dream I saw a quarterback on one side of the football field. He was way too far from the end zone but the clock was running down and they were about to lose the game. In the end zone was a receiver who saw this as hopeless and put his hands over his face and was shaking his head because it was impossible for the ball to reach him.   The quarterback reared back and let go with what we use to call a “Hail Mary” pass. This is where I woke up and the dream turned into an open vision. I saw the ball land on the back of the receiver's hands and stick there. So they won an impossible win but the first thing that came to me was, that was total grace, unmerited favor, and they wouldn't have won any other way. The back of the hands is not where you do your works and who can catch a ball there? Jesus has given all to us but we too often prefer our fleshly methods and have faith for nothing that Jesus accomplished. All who act as if they will be saved by man's works will fail. 2Ti 2:5 And if also a man contend in the games, he is not crowned, except he have contended lawfully. “Whatsoever is not of faith is sin.”   Exo 15:22 And Moses led Israel onward from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur… Because it was the only way these slaves to Egypt were going to make it to the Promised Land of milk and honey. And David led the people into the wilderness to overcome his traitorous Edomite type son. Psa 63:1 A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God; earnestly will I seek thee: My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee, In a dry and weary land, where no water is. They got water out of a rock. Do we have time to dig a well? Do we really want to walk in the steps of Jesus and His disciples by faith?   And the Bride had to go through her own wilderness to learn to lean only on her Lord. Son 8:5 Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, Leaning upon her beloved? And the people of God will bear fruit of faith and power in the wilderness tribulation. Isa 32:15 until the Spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness become a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be esteemed as a forest. 16 Then justice shall dwell in the wilderness; and righteousness shall abide in the fruitful field.   Isa 35:6 Then shall the lame man leap as a hart, and the tongue of the dumb shall sing; for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. Isa 40:3 The voice of one that crieth, Prepare ye in the wilderness the way of Jehovah; make level in the desert a highway for our God. A John the Baptist text who was all about repentance from dead works of the Pharisees.   Isa 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now shall it spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. 20 The beasts of the field shall honor me, the jackals and the ostriches; because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.   Eze 20:35 and I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there will I enter into judgment with you face to face. 36 Like as I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I enter into judgment with you, saith the Lord Jehovah. Many of them fell because of unbelief and trusting in the works of man.   We have two neighbors who were preachers of a non-spirit filled religion and taught their people to go to man because that is how God does His works now. They had all taken the vaccines. Both were dying as we were told a lot of those who listened to them were. One just died of a blood clot suddenly, the other is dying of turbo cancers one after another that spread like lightening through his body. The one with the blood clot had just seen astounding creative miracles happen in front of his face and couldn't believe it.   Father gives grace through faith, a gift from God. Eph 2:7 that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus: 8 for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not of works, that no man should glory. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them.   If we are limited to man's works we will not live through the wilderness. After the wilderness one should believe in miracles because that was all that saved them. Jer 17:5 Thus saith Jehovah: Cursed is the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from Jehovah. 6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, a salt land and not inhabited.   7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in Jehovah, and whose trust Jehovah is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, that spreadeth out its roots by the river, and shall not fear when heat cometh, but its leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.   Heb 10:38 But my righteous one shall live by faith: And if he shrink back, my soul hath no pleasure in him. 39 But we are not of them that shrink back unto perdition; but of them that have faith unto the saving of the soul. So all of those who think they will fly over the wilderness to the Promised Land are not preparing for the wilderness through faith in the Word and cannot guide anyone there.   The testings just ahead in our wilderness are like Jesus' testing and Moses' testings and Israel's testings. So let us obey Heb 10:23 let us hold fast the confession of our hope that it waver not; for he is faithful that promised: Jas 1:2 Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into manifold temptations; 3 knowing that the proving of your faith worketh patience. 4 And let patience have its perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, lacking in nothing.   5 But if any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all liberally and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing doubting: for he that doubteth is like the surge of the sea driven by the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord; 8 a doubleminded man, unstable in all his ways. Mar 11:23 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken up and cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that what he saith cometh to pass; he shall have it.   Mar 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, All things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. 25 And whensoever ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any one; that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. If we hold fast to the word to the end of our trial we will receive all. Heb 3:6-14 but Christ as a son, over his house; whose house are we, if we hold fast our boldness and the glorying of our hope firm unto the end.   7 Wherefore, even as the Holy Spirit saith, To-day if ye shall hear his voice, 8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, Like as in the day of the trial in the wilderness, 9 Where your fathers tried me by proving me, And saw my works forty years. 10 Wherefore I was displeased with this generation, And said, They do always err in their heart: But they did not know my ways; 11 As I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest. 12 Take heed, brethren, lest haply there shall be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God: 13 but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called To-day; lest anyone of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin: 14 for we are become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm unto the end:   1Pe 1:7-9 that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold that perisheth though it is proved by fire, may be found unto praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ: 8 whom not having seen ye love; on whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice greatly with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 9 receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.   Pray Saints, God hears prayer.

How cool would it be to see the NFL Draft in front of the Washington Monument? Well, that may be happening in 2027.

Almost immediately, he found himself as sideman for notable locals such as Kermit Ruffins, Michael Ward and The Reward, and Sun Ra trumpeter, Michael Ray.  In 1992 he co-founded the New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars(NOKAS), a pioneering klezmer ensemble that infused that music with the vibrancy and energy of the funk, jazz and brass music of New Orleans. To date he has had opportunity to play with most of New Orleans' greatest musicians from across all genres.  NOKAS was playing some of his compositions, but by 1993 he found himself seeking outlets for his compositions in other styles and forms.  After playing with a plethora of combos and experimenting with many great local musicians he formed Naked On The Floor and eventually The Naked Orchestra. Naked on the Floor (quintet) and the Naked Orchestra (18-24 piece creative orchestra) play Freilich's original compositions exclusively and still play regularly in New Orleans. He has appeared at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival 24 times as well as headlining the Berlin Jazz Festival with NOKAS. He has appeared at numerous other festivals inside and outside the country including Bonnaroo, the Ann Arbor Jazz Festival, The American Folklife festival at the Washington Monument, collaborations with poet, Andrei Codrescu at the Holocaust museum in NYC and many others. Other notable work includes appearances with Sam Rivers, Burton Greene, Marshall Allen, The Wild Magnolias and backing songwriters such as Robbie Robertson. He has done arrangements for a wide range of recordings from, Peter Stampfel to Hal Willner's presentation of U@ doing music of T-Rex. He is featured on over 21 recordings ranging from Klezmer to Afro-Cuban and avant-garde orchestra music. Recently he put out two CD's of a large orchestra playing his original compositions, a small group, and played on Marianne Faithfull's latest release.  Many of these recordings are either Big Easy or Offbeat entertainment award winners across a number of categories.  He also has music featured in films and TV shows (Andy Richter conquers the Universe, The Dukes of Hazzard(Warner Home Video) as well as commercials for companies such as Southwest Airlines and Mercedes.    n 2016 he produced and arranged an album, NOLA? for legendary Basque artist, Fermin Muguruza. Rearrangements of Muguruza's classic work utilizing the great players and sounds of New Orleans. That led to a very successful European run for the Basque New Orleans Orchestra. Other arranging credits include Hal Wilner and U2 tribute to T. Rex and Grammy Award winner, Peter Stampfel's 100 songs of the 20th century project.      His work includes 4 completed and performed operatic works: a comic-satirical opera, Bang the Law, about a couple of New Orleans lawyers and their movements through New Orleans class detritus after Hurricane Katrina, a two movement orchestral fantasy about Elias Cannetti at carnival, formation of a new quintet to play new original compositions, an octet reduction of Peter and the Wolf for a New Orleans Contemporary Art Center/Guggenheim foundation presentation; a second opera, ee me & cummings thee which premiered in New Orleans in Nov. 2011.   2019 saw the completion of two operas. One a hyper-collaborative project with writer, Bernard Pearce, The Coronation, on the selecting of queen bees. In June 2019 he wrote an operetta on the Dirty Letters of James Joyce to Nora Barnacle, titled Darling, Please do not be offended at what I wrote.  He is the subject of the one hour radio documentary Jonathan Freilich's Freedom Double-O Naked Klezmer Jazz Latin Boogaloo: The Radio Documentary by award winning documentarian, David Kunian and was the 2008 Louisiana Governors' Music Fellowship Award recipient.  This year he figured as a Rising Star guitarist in Downbeat's Critics Poll.  Freilich was born Oct.13, 1968 in Philadelphia, Pa.  He spent most of his early years, up until a late teenager in London, England before moving to Los Angeles in 1985.  Thereafter, he moved to Santa Cruz, Ca in 1987 before the 1989 move to New Orleans.  Currently, he is residing in Los Angeles after completing further studies in composition at California Institute of the Arts. Aside from music, Freilich is also a certified Iyengar yoga instructor and co-owner of a studio in New Orleans for many years.

The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 1: On Tuesday, the Supreme Court decided to temporarily permit Texas's Senate Bill 4 to take effect. The bill makes it a crime for migrants to illegally enter the United States—allowing for Texas officials to arrest and/or deport anyone who recently entered the state unlawfully. Adam Liptak of The New York Times writes: “The Supreme Court temporarily sided with Texas on Tuesday in its increasingly bitter fight with the Biden administration over immigration policy, allowing an expansive state law to go into effect that makes it a crime for migrants to enter Texas without authorization. As is typical when the court acts on emergency applications, its order gave no reasons. But Justice Amy Coney Barrett, joined by Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh, filed a concurring opinion that seemed to express the majority's bottom line. They were returning the case to an appeals court for a prompt ruling on whether the law should be paused while an appeal moves forward, Justice Barrett wrote. ‘If a decision does not issue soon,' she wrote, ‘the applicants may return to this court.' If a police officer has probable cause to believe a person illegally crossed the Rio Grande, that person could be charged with a Class B misdemeanor, which carries a punishment of up to six months in jail. For subsequent offenses, the person could be charged with a second-degree felony and face up to 20 years in prison. If the migrant is convicted and has served their sentence, a judge would be required to order police to transport them to a port of entry. If completed, the project would be the largest of its kind in the world. The strategically edited audio inaccurately makes it appear as though Trump is calling for violence. The bill makes it a crime for migrants to illegally enter the United States and allows for Texas officials to arrest and/or deport anyone who recently entered the state unlawfully. 6:15pm- On Monday “The Don Lemon Show” released its first episode—which included a long-form interview with billionaire Elon Musk. During the conversation, Lemon accused Musk of inaccurately claiming undocumented migrants can alter election outcomes. Musk then explained that undocumented migrants are counted in the census which can result in blue states receiving greater representation in the House of Representatives. 6:30pm- On Tuesday, the House Foreign Affairs Committee held a hearing on the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. Former U.S. Central Command Commander General Kenneth McKenzie and former Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair General Mark Milley both testified that there was a severe lack of coordination. Gen. Milley conceded: “I'll be candid. I don't know the exact number of Americans that were left behind” in Afghanistan. 6:50pm- In a recent interview Leslye Headland, writer/producer of the upcoming series “Star Wars: The Acolyte,” explained that one of her goals for the Star Wars franchise is to make it more inclusive. Last year Disney announced a new director for its Star Wars film franchise—Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Obaid-Chinoy has won two Academy Awards for short-films examining injustice in Pakistan, but does that make her the ideal selection for a sci-fi franchise?
