Production Notes: Des was sick during this recording, and so did not attempt his normal Byrne-voice, but listeners are invited to imagine it in place of his basso profundo for this episode. Adam is also experimenting with some new editing/production approaches this time, so please let us know what you think of those in this one. (Adam apologizes if more of his verbal tics slipped through this process than usual!) For a few days, the Frontispiece Four do their day-jobs, look into a variety of matters, and learn more about themselves, each other, and Grand Cross's society. While visitors to the Frontispiece arrive and prepare to arrive, one thing becomes clear: "the baby" can't stay there indefinitely... As the poet once said... "The Bad Touch" by Bloodhound Gang. We bring you this one-shot from the meat-locker to cover for issues getting the next Borrowed Light out on time... or at all... Some of the audio has been massaged, but still isn't easy to hear -- fortunately, because the game this time is no-top-to-be-over math-em-up TEN MILLION HP PLANET, so lots of what there is to hear is the most exciting thing of all: MATH! The Frontispiece Four heads to another eatery with an insane concept to hear a cool-as-hell band and have a highly informative conversation with Grand Cross's weirdest nun... As the poet once said... That increasingly less-mysterious invitation is burning a hole in Byrne's pocket, and the matter is causing tensions to rise among the Frontispiece Four... In this episode, Adam struggles to fit in time to edit well, and ends up getting it posted almost an hour late, with no guarantees that he didn't miss anything! Oh, and also, the Frontispiece get a feline temp-worker, conduct a stake-out, and unleash a mumble-teen into a workplace... As the poet once said... "The Stenographer" by Relient K. Following our sojourn into the holler with Old Gods of Appalachia, we return to a certain crime basement for the aftermath of an inauspicious auction... This is our first foray into Hard Wired Island's combat, and Adam is not totally pleased with his grasp of it, but practice makes perfect, and we think the episode ended up being pretty entertaining anyway -- hopefully, you agree! We obey the signs and portents of serendipity in interrupting our regularly scheduled Borrowed Light episodes a tad sooner than we had planned in order to share with you Robin's first foray as a GM – she takes us to 1803 Tennessee in the "recently released" Old Gods of Appalachia TTRPG! This is a game in the Cypher System by Monte Cook Games, and is based on the inimitable folk-horror podcast Old Gods of Appalachia, so check both those things out, and also be aware of content warnings of widely various severity for: body horror, possession, dementia, some of what I guess could be called gore, and insects! Our Punks explore their neighborhood some more as preparations are completed, and the much-ballyhooed auction begins... This episode is also more lightly edited than most, but hopefully, it's not to the detriment of its enjoyability, and perhaps Adam will get to clean it up more in the future! As the poet once said... "I Can Only Count to Four" by Psychostick. "Augment or Die" is by Emerson Boatwright and Drew Messinger-Micheals. Cover art by Joanne, aka Anything Sews. Having gotten the gang together somewhat reluctantly, they now start to prepare to disrupt a dangerous auction with a mix of caution, distrust, care, and tomfoolery! This one was a real crunch to get edited and posted (late) thanks to IRL things, so it's more lightly edited than most, with more background noise, more dead air, that sort of thing. Hopefully, it's not to the detriment of its enjoyability, and perhaps Adam will get to clean it up more in the future! As the poet once said... We're playing Hard Wired Island by Paul Matijevic, Freyja Erlingsdottir, and Minverva McJanda, and meeting our cagey team of eventually-heroes on their home turf of the Seldon District. Welcome to our second full campaign, "Borrowed Light," playing Hard Wired Island by Paul Matijevic, Freyja Erlingsdottir, and Minverva McJanda! This is our session zero -- basically a planning session we've recorded and put in the feed as part demonstration, part explanation, part preparation, and part revelation (by which I mean, it's kind of a type of Dice Peeks in feel, which is why it doesn't have its own Peeks in the Patreon feed). We hope this episode is entertaining, informative, and useful going forward into the campaign, and we hope you enjoy the official start of Borrowed Light in episode 2.1 - People of GPol, posting shortly! As the poet once said... "Stars" by Hum. "Lithium Twilight" and "Sprezzatura" are by neon shudder. Cover art by Joanne, aka Anything Sews. Former Royal Ballet dancer and model, Eric Underwood, welcomes Patrick into the rambling Chiltern farmhouse he's recently moved to. In the cosiness of Eric's library snug they talk about his deep bond with his mother which he likens to the expansive blue of the colour Borrowed Light, about his childhood growing up in Washington D.C as a gifted dancer and about his experiences as one of the few professional black ballet dancers. Eric also tells the story of how he came to create ballet shoes for people of colour. ‘The colour of "ballet white" I've always seen as quite challenging if you aren't white. This one-shot in Ben Klug's moody, contemplative game of item descriptions, Exiles, is a somber, silent, GM-less journey into the bleak world and fractured history of four wanderers in darkened lands... This month's in-between one-shot is a different kind of thing than we've done so far, a lot quieter, in both literal and figurative senses. We hope you enjoy it; it was very rewarding to record! The intended experience of these in-between one-shots in March and April 2024 is to be a little woolier, so we hope you still enjoy them -- and look in the main feed for the Dice Peeks after-show, since these are being released while our Patreon is temporarily paused! We are still bringing you our Hard Wired Island campaign, Borrowed Light -- and in fact, this episode is ever so slightly late going up due to recording toward our buffer for that campaign! This one-shot in Erika Chappell's short, bloody, hilarious SALVATION: Blessed are the Ultraviolent will probably stand for some time as our most indulgently excessive one-shot! If you're familiar with "Conflictmallet 4x10^4," you'll probably recognize some things, including some of the effects work Adam has done in the edit... "If we live like Jesus our lives will shine so brightly that the world will have to take notice!" It would be nice if that were true. But living like Jesus really could change the world. We'll see how as we continue our walk through Philippians.(Part three of our series "Philippians")
Jeff & Cathy talk about their own experiences with borrowing light during dark times and nurturing the light within to sustain us during trials. Due to extenuating physical and mental health challenges, including miscarriage, Cathy lost the spirit for many months when Jeff and she were first married. It was through writing Intentional Courtship and creating Love In Later Years (LILY) that her health and spiritual power returned over time. It is our hope that the LILY resources we create each week help the spirit and light return to any listeners experiencing dark times.
Mitä tanssiteosten pukujen suunnittelussa tulee ottaa huomioon? Entä, mitä tanssi merkitsee pukusuunnittelijalle? Näihin muihin kysymyksiin vastausta tämän päivän jaksossa, tervetuloa mukaan! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
This past Sunday at church, several people shared video statements about being part of a small group. [Link below.] A small group is where people get together to study God's teachings in the Bible, to discuss and learn, to get to know one another, and to pray. I am so thankful that they took the time … Continue reading Borrowed light
Aaron Nabus here and welcome to episode 102 of the Hall H Show! Joining me on this episode is someone that I've been wanting to have on the show for a while now, the multi-talented Jenapher Zheng! We first met in person briefly at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 when I was on a panel with her good friend (and episode 66 guest), Kaitlyn Fae. Both Jenapher and Kaitlyn are also podcast hosts on the Pangeekery podcast, where I was a guest in 2020. Jenapher is an actor, gamer, podcaster, Twitch streamer, visual artist and writer. Speaking of writing, a short movie she wrote, called Borrowed Light was recently fully funded on Seed & Spark (the campaign ends on April 14, 2021) and will start production soon. Also...congrats to Jenapher for recently getting 1,000 followers on her Twitch channel! We cover a wide range of topics like her movie, her geek origin story and creative journey, and so much more! During our conversation, she was willing to be a bit vulnerable, touching on childhood bullying, being diagnosed with bi-polar disorder, and also reading a poem she recently wrote that encapsulated her feelings concerning the murders of six Asian women in Atlanta, Georgia in March of 2021. It's conversations like these that keep me motivated to continue sharing stories of these incredible creators that I've been fortunate enough to meet. Enjoy! ~Aaron
Hey folks. Sometimes a song kinda writes itself, and those tend to be the best ones. I'm really happy with how this one turned out, and I hope you like it. It's more on the melancholic side, but also pretty I hope. Don't forget that the second episode of DRONE ALONE, my series of drone tracks, is now available exclusively on Patreon -- if you'd like to get hold of the first one and get the new ones as they come out, just head on over to patreon.com/conelrad. If you join, you can, for the equivalent of 3 bucks US per month plus whatever tiny local taxes might apply, get access to Drone Alone, plus the entire back catalogue of conelcast without intros, stings, or announcements, in 320Kbps quality. There are also some extra tracks! Great value. Anyway, take care and enjoy this week's track. love conelrad Help keep conelcast going If you like the show, please consider supporting it financially by chipping in a few bucks a month at the Patreon (patreon.com/conelrad). You get higher-quality versions of the tracks, with no intros, stings, or announcements. There's a growing amount of exclusive extra stuff there too! I work full-time, but conelcast making some money is one of the ways i can justify carving out such a huge amount of my spare time to do it every two weeks instead of (for instance) once a month. So if you haven't joined, consider it! Thanks! Bandcamp I have about six albums of music at conelrad.bandcamp.com. You can pay whatever you like for them. Some people have done this already (thank you so much). Free ways to support Reviews Rating/reviewing on Apple Podcasts (even if you don't use your Apple device to listen). This is super helpful for me! Recommending the show If you know artists, coders, creatives or open-plan office workers of any kind who could be interested, do let them know about conelcast. Also, if you know of anywhere I could recommend the podcast -- popular blogs/sites for artists and other creatives, for instance -- do let me know. This is a moral you were likely taught when you were young and deep down you always know when you have crossed the invisible line. It is illuminating yourself with light from another. It may be for personal or professional reasons. Claiming, using, borrowing … we explore how not to borrow the Light of another and instead create your own.
