It was the lack of products that performed as needed on shoots and runways that forced Kevin to go beyond conventional hair products and look to advancements being made in skincare, and thus KEVIN.MURPHY the brand was born. Kevin remains at the forefront of an industry he is deeply passionate about, from leading new trends in cut and colour, through to developing groundbreaking products that are kind to the environment and the hair.Recently travelling Italy his products were everywhere and a godsend when your travelling and find yourself in a hairdresser with such familiar quality products Kevin has carved himself quite a stable of loyal clients and suppliers ..I was a client eons ago and recall your store and humble beginnings what did you love about hairdressing and how did you carve such a stellar client list? I'm a bit of a hairdresser addict nothing like a wash blow dry or colour to lift my mood and freshen me up .. it's become quite an expensive addiction thoughts on the rising costs and who's using hairdressers as it becomes out of reach for some ..Love your timeless packaging some mention the challenge of use is this something you've explored and how iconic the brand has become does it make it a nightmare to Change …Deborah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/what.ive.learnt/Mind, Film and Publishing: https://www.mindfilmandpublishing.com/Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/what-ive-learnt/id153556330Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3TQjCspxcrSi4yw2YugxBkBuzzsprout: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1365850

“Fear often leads us to neglect before hate.”This is one of those episodes that will likely make my top 2022 list. I met Catherine McNiel on a Women of Welcome trip to El Paso. She is an author, writer, editor, and speaker who wrestles with the creative, redemptive work of God in our ordinary lives, and truly living as Jesus commanded us to live. Her newest book, Fearing Bravely, was birthed after seeing a discrepancy between how we're living and talking, and the way Jesus talks and acts. She talks about fear as a frenemy, that while it is something that can protect us, it is also something that people can exploit for their own benefit. It can cause us to neglect the very people that God called us to love. We hear over and over in scripture that perfect love casts out fear. Maybe what we really need is to ask God to turn our fear into compassion, and take seriously what He has commanded us to do. This book and conversation was so convicting for me - I know you'll walk away with something to chew on!Connect with JamieFacebook // Twitter // Instagram // YouTubeGET ALL THE LINKS FROM THE SHOW HERE

Catherine McNiel writes about the creative and redemptive work of God in our real, ordinary lives. Her upcoming book, Fearing Bravely: Risking Love for Our Neighbors, Strangers, and Enemies, just released from NavPress in February 2022. Catherine studies theology while caring for three kids, two jobs, and one enormous garden. If Jesus commands Christians to love their neighbors, why are so many North American Christians taught to fear their neighbors? The US church is known as a people who are afraid, who have been nurtured through fear into hatred, and who have moved from hatred to violence—or at least to neglect. This fear, too often lived out boldly in the name of Jesus, is a false religion. If God instructs Christians to welcome strangers, why are so many US Christians ignoring the scriptural commands that say not to withhold hospitality or help from anyone in need? So why do we fear strangers, especially those needing hospitality, afraid that their presence may threaten what we have?If Jesus taught all of His followers to love their enemies, why aren't more North American Christians regularly praying and hearing sermons about how to pray for those who actively harm them? Instead, many church-goers in this polarized context, create enemies in their minds, seeing anyone who thinks, believes, looks, or lives differently from North American Christians as dangerous, a threat to their way of living. The Christian community exists to declare and demonstrate God's love and to follow Jesus in practicing love over fear, even in unsafe times and places. It's time to call all people of faith to reclaim our brave fear of God and risk transformative love for the sake of our neighbors, the strangers among us, and our enemies.Christians are to be people of God's Kingdom, which is a place of flourishing and belonging where all nations, races, tribes and languages are welcome. Fearing Bravely teaches us that we have nothing to fear. Instead, we can respond to our fear problem with a brave love that emerges from choosing to let our fear and awe of God overcome our fear of everything else.Catherine McNiel writes with conviction, wisely guiding us to recognize our fear and, with God's help, not let it limit us to love courageously all who are among us.The A World of Difference Podcast is brought to you in partnership with Missio Alliance.Stay In Touch: Connect on Facebook and Instagram with thoughts, questions, and feedback. Mystery may be a great style of writing or a perfect theme for a Netflix series. However, when it is the title of a season of our lives, do we feel the same? For myself it challenging to see why (pick your subject) had to be this way in our life and why God allowed it to occur. I hope I give myself the grace to know He is good, but when I am in the thick of it, will I feel the same way or remember this sentiment? Most likely not. Author, Catherine McNeil shares about experiencing a head trauma in 2019 while on vacation and the journey of healing slowly. Catherine gently shares her insights and how she continued to cultivate ways to see God's presence in the mystery.Reflection Questions:Take a moment every day this week to jot down how you have seen God's creative redemptive work in your life. That can be as simple as seeing frost covering the ground, the turning colors of fall leaves or a smile shared between friends. This will help you cultivate that Is there a mystery in your life? If so name it and pray over it and see how God answers you. Fear not, believer. Jesus has overcome the world. Written by: Catherine McNeil
The Jews have been celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles, remembering their dependence on God for light and provision. Then Jesus declares: "I am the light of the world." This is such amazing hope, and also a hard truth to grasp. Listen and ponder all of the things that this passage raises. Written by: Catherine McNeil
