We are very proud to present an Exclusive Interview with the Executive Producers and Showrunners of Voltron Legendary Defender: Joaquim Dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery. We are also proud to have Hypable Writer and Podcaster Donya Abramo here to help us with the interview. Joaquim Dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery have been on our podcast many times, but this may be the last time we talk about the whole Voltron Legendary Defender series on Netflix, as Joaquim and Lauren have moved onto other projects. We appreciate Joaquim and Lauren taking this much time to talk to us about the 4th installment of a Voltron animated series since it debuted in 1984. We have no news about whether there will be future Voltron projects, but it's a real treat to learn about how Joaquim and Lauren view their time with Voltron, from the beginning to the end of Voltron Legendary Defender. Also joining us as a third interviewer on this podcast is Donya Abramo, the Hypable writer and podcaster you have heard previously on our podcast. We want to thank Donya for joining us for this very special interview. If you'd like to see some of Donya's articles on Hypable, check out this link: https://www.hypable.com/author/virtualdon/ PODCAST TRANSCRIPT! Let's Voltron: The Official Voltron Podcast

This podcast is our COMPLETE coverage of Voltron at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2018. Marc shares everything that happened at SDCC with Greg, who is hearing it for the first time, including interviews with Bex Taylor-Klaus, Jeremy Shada, Rhys Darby, Josh Hamilton, Lauren Montgomery, Joaquim Dos Santos, and Kyle Anderson. Also, we cover the Voltron panel, signings, SDCC exclusives, and we are excited to announce the winner of the Voltron Season 6 Prize Pack, and introduce a new SDCC Voltron Prize Pack and how to enter to win it! One of the first things we talk about is an announcement made for a Voltron book coming in 2019 by Andrew Farago, who had Original Voltron Director Franklin Cofod on a panel called Totally Awesome: The Greatest Cartoons of the 80's. His Voltron book will be called Voltron: The Ultimate Visual History, published by Insight Editions in 2019. Of course, we will have Andrew on the podcast when that book is released! Of course, we know you all want to hear about the interviews we had with the Cast and Crew of Voltron Legendary Defender! So, in addition to hearing them on the podcast, you can also WATCH them on our YouTube Channel! Here is the link to each interview: Bex Taylor-Klaus (Pidge) and Jeremy Shada (Lance) - https://youtu.be/EsIjNl4ZTYg Rhys Darby (Coran) and Josh Hamilton (Story Editor) - https://youtu.be/DVZiADaPyvw Joaquim Dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery (Executive Producers) - https://youtu.be/o9MGSRAL2so And... as an added special bonus, we have an interview with the Moderator of the Voltron Legendary Defender Panel at SDCC, the Associate Editor at Nerdist, and the Host of a brand new VLD Episode Commentary Podcast called FORM PODCAST - Kyle Anderson - https://youtu.be/3O5NG2EQ58E We also wanted to mention that Voltron Legendary Defender's Legendary Voice Director Andrea Romano was brought out of retirement to do an episode commentary for Form Podcast, but Marc was also able to interview Andrea, because she was also brought back for the Batman: The Animated Series Panel at SDCC. We were so happy to talk to Andrea Romano again!! Also, we covered the Voltron Legendary Defender Panel at SDCC and the signings of both the cast and crew at the autograph area AND Tim Hedrick and Mitch Iverson at the Lion Forge Booth for the Voltron Legendary Defender Comics, Vol 3, Issue 1 SDCC Exclusive Variant Cover! There were also SDCC Voltron Exclusives for: LEGO Ideas Voltron, which we covered in our last podcast, but can't help talking about AGAIN, because it's so awesome!!!! Don't forget, EVERYONE can get their own LEGO Ideas Voltron on August 1, 2018 at Shop.LEGO.com or at ANY LEGO Store in the world! Playmates Toys Hyperphase Voltron, which is a beautiful set I picked up at the Entertainment Earth booth! Bandai Super MiniPla Voltron Model Set with the exclusive Blazing Sword! Han Cholo Classic Voltron Membership Kit and VLD Enamel Pins, Blue Lion Ring and Bayard Pendants! Here are some of our pictures from everything we mentioned here: We were so excited about the announcements for Season 7 being 13 episodes, coming to Netflix on August 10, and that the remaining 13-episode drop will occur before the end of this year, so we are thinking December, but don't quote us! And it is certainly cool that we will have a complete 78-episode Voltron story on Netflix , we will be sad when it is all over, because it is such an amazing series. We want to thank the whole cast and crew of Voltron Legendary Defender at DreamWorks Animation, all the animators at Studio Mir, and all the people at Universal, DreamWorks, Team Click and Netflix who have allowed us to cover everything for Voltron. Thank you! On our next podcast, we'll be reviewing episodes 2, 3 and 4 of Season 6 of Voltron Legendary Defender with K-Lionheart, who designed Dungeons and Voltron for us when she appeared on the podcast as our Voltron Fan Artist Spotlight. The next podcast after that, we'll be reviewing episodes 5, 6 and 7 of Season 6 of Voltron Legendary Defender with Donya Abramo, writer for Hypable, and a podcast veteran herself. She recently wrote a post-SDCC article on Hypable that we all love. Please check it out here: https://www.hypable.com/voltron-shiro-lgbt-disability-importance/ As Always, Thank You for Listening! Marc and Kim Morrell covered all the Voltron events at New York Comic Con 2017 (NYCC), including the Voltron Legendary Defender Pre-Panel with Mark Daniel, the Panel, interviews with the cast and producers, Voltron on the LIVE stage, and the signings and Voltron fan meetup. There were also exhibit hall booths we visited, like Han Cholo, Lion Forge, and Simon & Schuster, as well as artists on the show floor and artist alley. In this podcast, we share it all with Greg, who wasn't able to go, and all the Voltron fans around the world that couldn't make it to NYCC. There is a lot to cover at New York Comic Con, especially when it comes to Voltron Legendary Defender, the greatest show on Netflix, and any device anywhere! And it all started with the Voltron Legendary Defender Cast and Crew Autograph Signings at Table 21 of the Autograph Hall on Friday, Oct 6, 2017. This wonderful lithograph designed by Lauren Montgomery was signed for every Voltron Fan in line. Here's what we had signed, and some of those pictures: On Saturday, Voltron Fans lined up to get into the panel early, and we saw some great cosplay in line. Here are some of those pics: Then, people were allowed to enter the Main Stage at NYCC, and take their seats for the 11 AM Voltron Legendary Defender Season 4 Panel. Mark Daniel was the Master of Ceremonies for the Pre-Panel Show and he was absolutely great with all the Voltron fans. He brought all the people up to the front who had cosplayed as Voltron characters, and they proceeded to do the first ever LIONWALK at NYCC. Then, he asked Let's Voltron Podcast Host Marc Morrell to come up on stage and they talked all about Season 4, Voltron Merch at NYCC and elsewhere, and they plugged the podcast. Both of them were wearing their Let's Voltron Podcast Five to Thrive Shirts, designed by Zilla (@beanyzilla). Big Thanks to Mark Daniel for all the Let's Voltron LOVE! Here are some pics from that Pre-Panel Show: We made a video of the Pre-Panel Show for people who weren't able to see that from the LIVE Collider YouTube stream from the panel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjGEB5IcOio Now, the panel did not disappoint Voltron fans, who were looking for glimpses into Season 4, as there were several clips from Season 4 played for the audience during the panel. Here are some of the pics from the panel: After the panel, we had interviews with the cast and producers of Voltron Legendary Defender. Those interviews are available on our YouTube Channel at: Cast (AJ LoCascio, Josh Keaton and Kimberly Brooks) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6YALGzYu4A Producers (Joaquim Dos Santos & Lauren Montgomery) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABlLw2w_lEk Here are some great pics from all around the exhibit hall floor, artist alley and more: We also had a chance to greet other great Voltron fans at the Voltron fan meetup at 4 PM on Saturday, which was a blast, and included a LOT of group cosplay photos, including these: We want to thank ALL of the Voltron fans that we met at NYCC. Your passion for this awesome franchise is OFF THE CHARTS! We also want to thank DreamWorks, Netflix, Universal, Mark Daniel, Han Cholo, Lion Forge, Simon & Schuster, Sideshow Collectibles, Alex Milne, Terry Huddleston, Naomi Romero, Elentori, Donya Abramo, Cheetoy, Mark Oliver, Seth Green, Clare Grant, Brandon Schoolhouse, Gian Norte, Josh Keaton, Kimberly Brooks, AJ LoCascio, Joaquim Dos Santos, Lauren Montgomery, Seth Fowler, Ryan Bradley, Emily Leibert, ReedPop Staff, BER, Warner Bros, Gary Miereanu, DC, Alan Tudyk, and many more people we can't remember at this moment. NYCC was awesome! We can't wait until next year, and the next time we get to gather with Voltron Fans! It's always a great time! We also talked about our TeePublic Store, where you can find a ton more Voltron designs, and TeePublic recently added pillows, totes and tapestries to their already long list of products that you can get Let's Voltron or Voltron designs on. Here is a link to that store: https://www.teepublic.com/user/letsvoltron?ref_id=5313&ref_type=aff Our next podcast will have special guests AJ LoCascio (Lotor) and Neil Kaplan (Zarkon) in a Father and Son Podcast for the AGES! Lotor vs Zarkon! Let's see if these two can get along and answer all the fan questions we asked you to send into us. There will be a random winner picked from all the entries, and that winner will receive the 2 signed lithographs we mentioned above. Good luck! As always, Thanks for Listening! Let's Voltron!!

Spider-Man: Homecoming was a Stark-fest, and we're in love on this almost-live episode recorded during Indy PopCon. Heckling Matt Ryan was the best thing ever - and he gives as good as he gets. Not having air-conditioning at any con is the worst. Also the worst: mosquitos. And while conventions are awesome, the illness known as con-crud is not. Unpacking after a con is a nightmare, especially when your car has turned into a swimming pool.  Reuniting and making friends at cons is a highlight. Getting introduced to new games is wonderful. From Thunderbirds to Auguries, Malfoys to MACUSA, this episode is themed specifically around the new Potter canon that's been released into the world in this past year via Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. This might honestly just be an excuse for us to talk excessively about Jamie Parker, who makes Cursed Child worth seeing, but we've got lots of love for the play's casting, performance and magical special effects, if not its plot. We're taking umbrage with Rowling's continued double standards between representation in her work and advocacy in her real life, and the script book of Cursed Child was really not the best way to share that story. Fantastic Beasts introduced some awesome new canon to the universe, but did it really, really need Johnny Depp? Featuring old college pals Timothy Omundson and Richard Speight Jr. - separately, not together, unfortunately. We ain't that fancy. Also, we promise the title comes from one of our guests and does not reflect our own sentiments. Along with our main chat about creating Kings of Con and directing Supernatural, Rich draws back the curtain on the reality of conventions as a business and what makes a con guest succeed or flop, and also delves a little deeper about his character Gabriel and the canon of Supernatural's angels in general.  Tim joined us at Oz Comic-Con 2016 where we discussed transferring Galavant from screen to stage, the entire messy world of television ratings, cancellations and planned series endings (Psych, Supernatural...) and the fact that his eagerness has caused a certain Hamilton cast member to take out some extra insurance against sabotage.  For context, we've bracket these live-recorded interviews with our own discussion of the craft of interviewing at conventions and some of our best and worst personal experiences. You can skip to 17:08 for Richard's interview and 1:02:17 for Timothy's. The Richard Speight recording really showcases just how much great content gets lost when turning a lengthy interview into a short feature article and our as-yet-unreleased Timothy Omundson content is a great example of how non-time-sensitive interviews sometimes get put on the backburner and don't get the time in the sun they deserve. Each episode, our Not About The Weather hosts and their guests will bring an obsession to share and a grievance to air from the their experiences in the world of pop culture, fandom, or sometimes, just plain old life. #ANA - Ask NATW Anything: "What's your favorite kind of interview? If you're wondering about metaphorically cutting your cable cord or keeping said cord around for The Great British Bake Off all whilst enjoying your depressing dystopian novels in the peace and quiet of the apocalypse, then this episode is for you. Is Jane the Virgin the only good comedy currently on television? Is any Funko Pop really worth three hundred dollars? It's been ten years - will Natalie ever shut up about The History Boys? Has there ever been a Broadway original cast change grief period quite like Hamilton's? Also, Karen rejoices at the potential of another Rick Riordan fan, and Sebastian Stan is really bad at social media.
