Biblical Talks All throughout the Holy Bible, we discover the character of God. In this episode of Biblical Talks, SD and Lady V explore Ezekiel 37:1-14 from the New Living Translation. In this passage, God gives Ezekiel a vision of a valley filled with dry bones. It's a powerful reminder of God's incredible redemptive love, available to all who belong to Him. There are many lessons to take away from this chapter. And just as importantly, all scripture is meant for our learning and can be applied to our everyday lives. With that in mind, have you read Ezekiel 37:1-14 New Living Translation. If so -- what are your thoughts? If not, no worries, we've got you covered. Scriptures Referenced in Episode Discussion Ezekiel 37:1-14 NLT John 3:16-17 Romans 10:9-10 Numbers 6:24-26 Receive your Free Gift of Salvation – The Gospel of Jesus Christ Explanation If you are reading this, it is not by chance. This is your time to receive the Gift of Salvation through Christ Jesus. Now, you may be wondering, "Why do I need that?" Oh, I'm so glad you asked. The Bible says, that because Adam ate fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil -- he released sin into the world. And ultimately, Adam's sin brought death and death spread to everyone. No doubt, you may be thinking, "Of course, everyone is going to die." But, my question to you is "Where will you spend eternity?" Because there is life after death. In fact, when you die you go to one of two places -- heaven or hell. Also, it is important to understand that Adam's sin also brought an eternity in hell. But for those who choose not to receive the free gift of eternal life. Thus, you must make that choice before you take your last breath. Romans 5:17 New Living Translation says, “For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God's wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.” To sum it all up, Romans 6:23 New Living Translation says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” So, if you are reading this, don't let another day go by without receiving this life-changing gift. Scripture Romans 10:8-10 New Living Translation says, “8 …“The message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart.” And that message is the very message about faith that we preach: 9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.” Salvation Prayer Lord Jesus, I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins. I ask You to forgive me. I want to follow You, Jesus. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith, I ask You to be my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your gift of grace and for eternity with You. In this powerful vision, God takes Ezekiel to a valley full of dry bones — lifeless, scattered, and hopeless. But what looks impossible to man becomes a testimony of God's restoring power. As the Word of God is spoken and the Spirit of God breathes life, the bones rise into an exceedingly great army.
January 14, 2026Today's Reading: Ezekiel 36:33-37:14Daily Lectionary: Ezekiel 36:33-37:14; Romans 5:1-21“Then he said to me, ‘Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord GOD: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.' So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.” (Ezekiel 37:9–10)In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. One of the most memorable and strangest passages in Holy Scripture is the Valley of Dry Bones. It is a gruesome and fascinating text: dried human bones scattered across a barren valley reassemble into skeletons and then fully formed bodies at a word from the prophet. But then, after the rattling of bones reassembling, it is quiet once again. A valley now scattered with still, silent bodies. It isn't until Almighty God commands Ezekiel to speak breath into them that they live, breathe, and stand on their own feet. How weird is that? It's really weird until you realize that God speaking breath and life into darkness and death is pretty much how it always works. “Let there be…” and there is. “Lazarus, come out!” and he does. Ezekiel is given to see a future and a promise for God's people who are lost in exile in a foreign land, and he speaks to them in comfort and proclamation. “This is not the end of your life; God has a plan and a future for his faithful children.” It may seem like you are at wits' end, lost in a maze, or a wilderness, or a dark place with seemingly no way out and no future, but God has other things in mind for you. He has a promise and a future: life everlasting, and he gives it to you through the power of the breath, His Holy Spirit.Jesus breathes that Spirit on His disciples on Easter evening. That Spirit breathes on the assembled hearers at Pentecost, and that Spirit breathes new life and faith into you at your Baptism. The life, forgiveness, and salvation won for you in Christ Jesus's death and resurrection are given to you while you are still lost and dead in sin, given completely by God's grace and favor for you. When you feel like you have no way out, or that you are completely lost, hear the Word of the Lord and let His breath refresh you and revive you.In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.O Holy Spirit, enter in, And in our hearts Your work begin, Your dwelling place now make us. Sun of the soul, O Light divine, Around and in us brightly shine, To joy and gladness wake us That we may be Truly living, To You giving Prayer unceasing And in love be still increasing. Prophetic Power | Matthew 28:17–20Jesus didn't call the Church to simply attend services and be nice—He called us to go and make disciples. In this message, Prophetic Power, we wrestle with a tension many believers feel: God has given us a clear mission, yet we often feel powerless and unqualified to accomplish it.Anchored in Matthew 28:17–20 and the vision of the Valley of Dry Bones in Ezekiel 37, this sermon reminds us that spiritual impact is never about human strength, talent, or effort alone. It is about the breath of God.Just as dry bones came to life when God's Spirit breathed into them, the Church is empowered not by what we can do—but by what God chooses to breathe into us.

John 11:14-27 Ezekiel 37:1-14 Susan Scott's sermon starts us with Israel's period of exile in Babylon, where Jerusalem has fallen, the temple is destroyed, and the people feel like God has abandoned them without hope. Ezekiel reminds the Israelites that God has not forgotten them. God keenly knows their suffering and Showed Ezekiel a vision of hope in the valley of dry bones that could be made to dance. God is greater than death and Israel will live again, even though that will still take decades. Eventually God's people return, rebuild, and there is a revival of the people. We see the same theme 600 years later in the John scripture with Jesus's resurrection of Lazarus. Jesus waits until after Lazarus dies to come back a perform a miracle. Jesus, like God to Ezekiel, speaks words of hope and faith to those mourning Lazarus and regretting Jesus's delayed response. We too, much wait patiently with faith and hope that God will make good on their promises even when our circumstances appear bleak. Remember that God is greater than death, greater than our problems, and when God is at work there is always hope.
The story is more than a demonstration of God's life-giving power; it a story of hope.

Thus says the Lord God to these [dry] bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. ~Ezekiel 37:5 Israel was in exile. Nearly 600 years before the birth of Christ, the world power at the time, Babylon, conquered Jerusalem. The educated class from Jerusalem was deported, and Ezekiel, a young priest, was among those exiles. Being ripped from their homes in Jerusalem was difficult for all of them, but can you imagine what it would have been like for a young priest? To be forced to leave the Temple, God's dwelling place, and wrenched away from the holy city—it is like being cut off completely from God. As Psalm 137 laments, “How are we to sing the Lord's song in a foreign land?” Christmas is coming. Some feel in a kind of exile as the day of Christ's birth approaches. How can we sing the Lord's song in this foreign land? In times of division or uncertainty, many may feel estranged or out of place in their own communities or nation, as if exiles in a land that no longer reflects their values or hopes. Yet, the prophecy of Ezekiel assures us that God has not abandoned us. As Christmas approaches, I will use the lens of Ezekiel's prophecy about “dem dry bones” to explore where we might find Christmas hope this year.
On this morning's episode of Slingshot Nation, the team dives straight into supernatural territory after Jack recounts being pulled into a lucid dream realm and physically attacked by a shadowy presence that felt frighteningly real. Tony follows with a disturbing dream of government elites—Trump and J.D. Vance—appearing as hybrid beings inside a dystopian facility. As they compare experiences, the room shifts. They unpack a recent ministry encounter involving Katie Souza and Lindsay where each member of the team was hit with intense spiritual activity, including visions, mirror manifestations, and physical sensations that mirrored the dream attacks. The conversation then pivots into Scripture, where the forgotten stories become even more shocking than the dreams. The team explores Matthew 27's account of saints rising from their graves when Jesus died, Ezekiel 37's Valley of Dry Bones coming back to life, and historical testimonies of beheaded saints carrying their own heads while continuing to preach. In this episode of Slingshot Nation, dream warfare, hybrid deception, and biblical resurrection collide—revealing a much stranger and more supernatural reality than most believers have ever considered. In this episode, Tyler and Dr. Wegner finish covering the book of Ezekiel. They cover key passages like the famous Dry Bones imagery and discuss the purpose of the book and it's eschatological-like message.
Join Pastor Alex Gowler for Week 7 of our Timeline message series as we delve into one of the Old Testament's most profound prophecies: the Valley of Dry Bones from the book of Ezekiel. This powerful message, "TIMELINE | Week 7," confronts the challenging "bad news" of sin and judgment—the 400 years of Israel's failure—to reveal the glorious necessity of the "good news" of hope and resurrection in Jesus Christ. Discover why understanding our deep need for a Savior is the only way to truly receive the Gospel Message and experience New Life in Christ.Key Takeaways from This Message:- Understand the "Why": Learn why recognizing the depth of your own brokenness and sin is essential to fully appreciating the power and grace of the Gospel.- Find Resurrection Hope: Explore the prophetic vision of the Dry Bones to see God's promise of new life, showing that nothing—not even death or utter despair—is too far gone for His restoration.- Bridge the Gap: Discover how Jesus fulfills the roles of the failed prophets, priests, and kings, finally bridging the gap between God and humanity (Emmanuel, God with us).- Receive New Life: Be invited to respond to the hope of Jesus, moving from spiritual "dry bones" to a life filled with God's spirit and presence.
As we continue our year-long look at the whole story of scripture, Pastor Cheryl helps us focus on the Exile - the period where God's presence had left the temple that Solomon has constructed, and the nation of Israel was scattered. During this period, it looked as though the promises of God had come to their end. But, we must remember that this isn't the end of the story! in the same way that Ezekiel saw the Valley of Dry Bones - through eyes of faith - Pastor Cheryl invites us to see how God continues to do the restorative, resurrecting work through the Spirit in our lives today that mirrors the miracle of the bones in the valley.
What is the meaning of the Valley of Dry Bones in Ezekiel 37? What does the Valley of Dry Bones in Ezekiel chapter 37 represent?
In this episode, the pastors visit Freddy's Kitchen at the Yonder Cider Taproom in Cashmere, WA along with guest pastor, Zach Day, and ask the question God once posed to Ezekiel: “Can these bones live?” Together we explore how God breathes new life into what feels dead—our faith, relationships, and communities. Join us as we talk about moving beyond routine religion into the abundant, hope-filled life Jesus promises and how the church can be a place where dry bones come alive again.
This week, Pastor Will shared Ezekiel's vision of the Valley of Dry Bones from Ezekiel 37. "The Little Season" refers to a brief period mentioned in the Book of Revelation (Revelation 20:3, 7-8) after Satan is released from his imprisonment for 1,000 years. During this time, he will deceive the nations for a final time before being defeated and cast into the lake of fire. Interpretations vary, with some believing this season is a future event, while others, known as preterists, suggest it has already occurred, possibly tied to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. A fringe interpretation, sometimes linked to conspiracy theories, suggests that our current history is a deception orchestrated by Satan during this "Little Season," with ancient architecture being evidence of a past, hidden reign of Christ. Walk with Joel as he navigates Part 3 by looking at the real history of the theology of Pretribulation and the Rapture. He explores the controversial, C.I. Scofield, and his Scofield Study Bible by looking at a book called, “The Incredible Scofield and His Book” by Joseph M. Canfield and if the facts that are presented are true and if C.I. Scofield created his study Bible by orders of the Rothschilds. He then goes through the life of John Nelson Darby of the Plymouth Brethren and if his ideas of Dispensationalism and the Rapture were given to him by a “visionary” named Margaret MacDonald. He decides its time to take people to the past church fathers and see if the Rapture, Pretribulation and the “Ages” were only a thing of the early 1800s or of indeed the early theologians were discussing these ideas back in early Christianity. Lastly, Joel goes through the “Valley of the Dry Bones' and if the Bible is actually talking about Israel and its return to the homeland in 1948. In this week's Holy Ghost Story, we find ourselves at the edge of town — staring up at a house everyone thought was abandoned. The windows are dark, the air is still, and the stories say it's haunted. But what if it's not haunted by something to fear… but by the Spirit of God, still waiting to breathe life into what's been forgotten?Inspired by Ezekiel's vision of the dry bones, The House of Dry Bones is a story about renewal, courage, and faith in the face of desolation. It reminds us that what feels lifeless can still be revived, that God's breath can still move through our communities, and that sometimes, resurrection begins when we find the courage to open the door. This episode invites us to see our faith, our churches, and even our weary hearts as places still haunted — not by ghosts of the past, but by the lingering presence of a living, loving God.

Fr. Mike explains the significance behind the mention of bones in Jeremiah and Ezekiel. In Jeremiah, we learn that the bones of God's people are scattered because of their worship of false gods. In Ezekiel, we see the prophet prophesy over the valley of dry bones and the Lord's Spirit restoring and moving within them. Today's readings are Jeremiah 8, Ezekiel 37-38, and Proverbs 14:33-35. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/bibleinayear. Please note: The Bible contains adult themes that may not be suitable for children - parental discretion is advised.

In this powerful sermon, Pastor Gabriel Platero centers on the call of the faithful remnant to bring revival to the church and society. Drawing from Ezekiel 37, the imagery of dry bones coming to life becomes a vivid picture of renewed hope and faith. He also reflects on the value of traditional worship songs, the urgency of proclaiming God's truth with boldness, and the danger of silence in a world of opposition. Listeners are challenged to stay rooted in God's Word and to speak life into the “dry bones” within their own lives and communities.
