Meet Sonia Choquette Sonia Choquette is a NY Times bestselling author and international speaker, widely regarded as today's preeminent leader on the subject of intuition. Reawakening humanity's sixth sense is Sonia's mission, passion, and gift. Rising up from her family's challenging circumstances, she began offering intuitive readings to adults at the age of 12 and started her training with two master teachers in metaphysical arts and spiritual law. Since then, Sonia has traveled the globe for over four decades, presented on the world's biggest stages, and collaborated with leading spiritual teachers and media platforms to help millions reconnect with their innate intuitive intelligence. Sonia's approach to teaching intuition is one-of-a-kind. Instead of drawing from rigid scientific or spiritual dogma, she empowers her students to feel and listen to their own inner voices - and experience self-driven transformation through trust and reverence of the higher self. Sonia grew up with the rare gift of being taught to trust her intuition and where the 6th sense was considered the 1st sense to pay attention to. Sonia's mother was a Romanian refugee who lost her hearing but had her life saved by her own inner voice. Sonia started teaching about how to access your intuition by age 15 and shares in this interview tools, tips, and ways to learn how to listen to your intuition so that you can live your best life! Your Intuition Is A Super Power Take this in, my friend. Intuition literally means 'inner teacher'. We are all born with intuition and an inner teacher. Learning to listen to your intuition and treat it like your own personalized inner compass will change your life (and for some, it can literally save your life as well). To develop your intuition, you have to get out of your head and accept that your heart is an intelligent organ. We've talked about this before in my interviews with Dr. Debbie Rozman and Dr. Rollin McCrady from HeartMath. Our heart is 5,000 stronger than our other senses. Connecting to your heart intelligence and deeper inner wisdom is now scientifically proven and means what you've been told --- follow your heart. As Einstein said, the human spirit is the main gift, the mind is the servant. How To Tell If It's Your Intuition Sonia shared some easy ways to tell if it's your intuition or your mind. For starters, intuition is a feeling, not a lot of words. You'll notice that your intuition leaves your body and energy feeling more open, whereas if it's your intellect, you'll feel more constricted and contracted. Intuition will have a 'ringing true' quality and will resonate with your whole body. A great tool to really check and see is to speak it out loud and see if what you're picking up lands true. If it does, you'll feel it in your body and heart. Try This Game At Home To align your ego and spirit, Sonia shared a fun game that will reframe the way you see both your ego and your unruly mind so that you can have a more harmonious relationship within yourself. Think of your ego as a friendly barking dog that is a friend to your Spirit (the part of you that knows who you really are). Give a name to the dog and to your Spirit -- for example Sonia's dog is Feefee and her Spirit is named Bright Light. Talk to both parts of you in a playful and fun way to reframe the way you view how you interact with your ego and Spirit. This can alleviate the seriousness and frustration that is often present when we start looking at parts of ourselves we want to shift and change. Try it and let me know what you've named your dog and Spirit in the You-est You Facebook community. My Favorite Takeaways: Trust your vibes! The missing piece for most of us is to fully trust our intuition. When your intuition leads and your ego follows, you will have a magical life. Intuition is the communication of your divine most authentic self (what we call your 'You-est You'). When you listen to your intuition, your cells and body relax fully. Your body is a truth serum. (enough said) Your intuition isn't about finding the lost keys, it's about finding the lost sense of yourself. My hope and prayers are that this conversation reminds you that you are born with an intuition superpower that is here to guide you and that you don't need anyone else to validate you, or your inner wisdom. You're here not to just survive, but to grow, create, adapt, learn and enjoy your life. Keep focusing on trusting and attending to your intuition and watch how life becomes magical. From my me-est me, may you always remember to "trust your vibe", as Sonia says. I highly recommend any of her 30 books, including her newest book, "Trust Your Vibe". Nick and FeeFEE discuss the new Thom Yorke album after purposefully not discussing it beforehand and saving it for the podcast for you, special. Nick questions FeeFEE about his Radiohead fandom (compulsion?) and FeeFEE after listening to this may feel that he revealed too much about his relationship to the song Let Down, but whatever he couldn't ask Nick to edit that out could he? I mean that would make it even worse and maybe it's not as bad as he thinks he it is, whatever stop looking at me. @YSIAGIBpodcast
They went to a Griselda show they discuss the positives and negatives, give a shoutout to Busta Rhymes and forgot to give a shoutout to DJ Premier who was also there and after the show FeeFEE said the wrong thing to Mayhem Lauren or rather in true FeeFEE fashion he thought of something better to say when it was too late.
Nick and FeeFEE discuss their awkward relationships with Radiohead's ninth album, including their 74th discussion expressing their dissatisfaction with the album version of Identikit which ironically isn't as good as some of their previous unrecorded discussions on the topic. FeeFEE talks about the Beastie Boys and Aphex Twin shows he went to and recommends a Bicep track. Then Nick talks about ANOTHER headphone purchase. @YSIAGIBpodcast
Nick and FeeFEE discuss the Earl Sweatshirt album, also FeeFEE questions why they didn't go to the Four Tet concert and the likelihood of Nick getting an AFX tix, plus recommendations of Buck 65 and a pair of headphones (we didn't even get paid for it). @YSIAGIBpodcast
FeeFee joins Bax in a car ride that leads to a conversation about popularity versus virality, the power of Black Twitter as well as Cancel Culture and how their tweets blew up.
Nick and FeeFEE discuss Clinic's first album, Ironman and Fishscale are compared and contrasted, they recall the Anika concert they went to and Nicks recommends The Sound Defects followed by FeeFEE bah humbugging 21 Savage. @YSIAGIBpodcast
Nick and FeeFEE discuss Hello Nasty and the disparity of importance the Beasties have played in their lives. Also discussed is the Thom Yorke shows they went to, plus recommendations of Filmworker doc, Mr. Live, Black Thought and The Funs. @YSIAGIBpodcast
Nick and FeeFEE discuss Bjork's Homogenic album, plus recommendations of Kenny Dorham and DJ Honda feat. Mos Def. Also mentioned is the Black Moon concert they went to. @YSIAGIBpodcast
Nick and FeeFEE both listened to Willie Bobo records, but which one they actually listened to is up for debate. Also, the final YSIAGIB decision on whether or not modern country is racist + recommendations of New Order and Asie Payton. @YSIAGIBpodcast
Anika's self-titled debut is discussed, then FeeFEE lays a theory on Nick about the default level of {redacted} in modern country music. Nick recommends a Nina Simone song and Nick picks the album for the next one and FeeFEE says goodbye to Fred. [Warning: FeeFEE says the intro beat is Olde Scottish "Wildstyle (Bonus Beats)", but due to a single isolated moment of confusion on his part it ended up being Brian Bennett "Solstice". We apologize for the confusion (not really).] https://twitter.com/YSIAGIBpodcast
Nick and FeeFEE discuss Enter the 36 Chambers plus recommendations (Cymande & Belle and Sebastian). https://twitter.com/YSIAGIBpodcast
Nick plays FeeFEE the original songs and he has to remember what hip hop song used it. https://twitter.com/YSIAGIBpodcast
Nick and FeeFEE went to philly to see the last show of the Radiohead tour and discussed the aftermath. https://twitter.com/YSIAGIBpodcast
Oh, Canada, you're such a nice place with really great denim and also you floss! This is the Live podcast by which all future live shows will be judged. The Canadian Mommies are real and HARD F***IN CORE! Toronto is no joke, you know what we're sayin? Tommy and Tina drop dreams on you! Who requested a T Bunz piledriver? Which race crawled up in Tina in her sleep-filled mind? We try to understand what people are sayin. Pretty sure that one of them is even too advanced for the most seasoned mom. Give it a shot, ketchup/mustard! Can Britney Spears sing? We have evidence that suggests your opinion on her vocals has always been on point. Plus Aunty FeeFee drops knowledge thru music and Top Dog raises even his own brown bar! Remember, "It's Only Smells."
It never gets old. No matter how much time passes by, joy is always spread when someone drops a Deez Nuts joke. And if you get it on TV? Well, we collectively thank you, sir. New music from you, the little jeans, is welcomed and celebrated! It's time to post a challenge! Does a pimp or a rapper say You Know What Im Sayin more? Get out your pen and paper cause you've got some countin' to do! (You know what I'm sayin?) But everything takes a back seat to the Queen of this episode. Internet sensation, vocal inspiration and servant of our Lord, Aunty FeeFee joins us! She is as sweet, engaging and fun as you knew she would be. Does she bless our show with a special tune? Put your earbuds in and let us pleasure you ears. WE WEAR DENIM ONLY AROUND HERE!
