Rock ‘n' roll and witchy stuff – it seems to go hand-in-hand and this week on Eavesdroppin', hosts Geordie & Michelle dive into rock stars who've had a brush with the occult. Geordie kicks off the episode with a look at a classic tale of selling your soul to the devil for fame – yes, we're talking about blues guitarist Robert Johnson and his legendary deal with the devil at the crossroads. Tune in to know more! She also covers Led Zeppelin, Aleister Crowley and the weird witchy things that happened after they allegedly performed a ritual to bring fame and success to the band. Killing Joke and their occulty rituals get a mention alongside the time they tried to record in an Egyptian pyramid, and finally, Geordie dives into the strange tale of David Bowie, who thought he'd been cursed by a witch. Listen in to get the full stories!Michelle then talks about Mylie Cyrus's supposed London ghost encounter and Cher's house that's haunted by a friendly ghost, before discussing Jane's Addiction singer Perry Farrell's visitation with a spirit entity back in 1993. But the wildest of Michelle's stories comes from ex KISS guitarist, Ace Frehley, who not only has a haunted house, he was also punched by a ghost, saw a UFO while on tour with KISS and had a UFO land in his garden. True story. On this very special edition of Not A Bomb, the guys celebrate 150 episodes of the podcast with a double feature starring the one, the only - Andrew Dice Clay. First up is the 1990's action comedy mystery film, The Adventures of Ford Fairlane. Here, we find the Diceman starring as the ”The Rock N' Roll Detective” who gets into all the hottest clubs and dates all the hottest women while solving cases within the music industry. Critically panned and a financial flop, The Adventures of Ford Fairlane failed to capitalize on the success of Andrew Dice Clay who had just broken attendance records that same year at Madison Square Garden. If that wasn't enough, the guys tackle 1993's romantic comedy (?), Brainsmasher…A Love Story. Let's see, this one has Teri Hatcher, goofy ninjas who aren't really ninjas, and a lot of similar plot points found in Ford Fairlane. We at Not A Bomb thank you for listening and helping us reach 150 episodes. We couldn't have done it without your support! We are so proud of this community and all you've done to make this an amazing experience!Timestamps: Intro - (1:18), Box Office Results and Critical Response - (4:00). Always great to have a Rock N' Roll legend on Talkin' Rock! Joe Talks about his new album and all the guests on it, plus working on it with his sons. He's doing a run of shows and one of them is in Pontiac, Michigan at the Crowfoot. That lead him to talk about how Detroit was one of the first cities to really prop up Aerosmith. I asked him about Aerosmith, how Steven Tyler and Joey Kramer are doing. He gave me updates on them. He also answered the question to whether they would ever put out new music. Enjoy! -Meltdown-

Topic: It's Still Rock n Roll to Me! Guest: David Fishof Bio: Whether he's producing a tour, assembling an All-Starr band with Ringo Starr, or writing a best-selling book, there's one thing David Fishof is always doing: dreaming. Hailed as one of the most creative and innovative entertainment producers in the world, Fishof has been responsible for some of the most original, successful, and exciting live shows ever brought to the stage. But of all the shows he's put on over his 40-plus year career, there's one production that stands out from all the rest: Rock ‘N' Roll Fantasy Camp. After years of good fortune working with veteran rockers like Roger Daltrey, Ringo Starr, The Monkees, Levon Helm, Joe Walsh, the late Jack Bruce and so many more superstars, Fishof decided it was time to share his experiences with rock fans around the world. And so, in 1997, he debuted the rock camp—a place where regular people can reconnect with their passion for music alongside the most famous names in the business. A quarter century later, the camp has given more than 7,000 folks from around the world a chance to live the rock star dream. Campers get to meet and jam with their musical idols—including Joe Perry, Roger Daltrey, Gene Simmons, Nancy Wilson, and the late Jeff Beck—in some of the most legendary venues on Earth, from Abbey Road Studios in London, to the Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood, to the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. In addition to founding Rock ‘N' Roll Fantasy Camp, Fishof's career highlights include reuniting The Monkees for their blowout reunion tour in 1986, and producing Dirty Dancing: The Concert Tour, Dick Clark's American Bandstand Tour, the Happy Together Tours, Classic Superfest, American Gladiators Live Tour, and the British Rock Symphony (which featured Roger Daltrey, Alice Cooper, and Jon Anderson). Fishof also worked with Ringo Starr to create the All Starr Band, and over its fifteen-year existence, Fishof has produced eight All Star Band tours. In January 2023, Fishof announced a development deal with Fox for a comedy TV show called “Rock Camp” following a down on his luck rock star, who after a series of screw-ups, begrudgingly goes to teach at Rock Camp — a summer camp where anyone can live out their fantasy of shredding next to their favorite rockers — in order to satisfy a court mandate and save his reputation. Fishof joins producers Steve Basilone (“The Goldbergs”) and Jeff Rowe on the endeavor. 1) Torah Inspiration 2) Pride in Family & Judaism 3) Fame & Fortune 4) Pivot to Music 5) Fantasy Camp 6) Reflection and so much more!

Rock 'N' Ball is a pinball game with several gameplay options. The first is regular pinball game for one to four players. The second option is called nineball and the object is to shoot the balls into the playfield and have them land in the holes to form a bingo pattern (i.e. a vertical line, a horizontal line, etc.) This game is also for one to four players. Next is battle flipper. There is a set of flippers at both the top and bottom of the table, and two players try to knock the pinball past their opponents flippers. Lastly is sports pinball. In this game the pinball table is set up to look like a soccer or hockey field. Similar to battle flipper, each player tries to knock the pinball past their opponents goalie. There is only one flipper in this game, however you have a goalie to block shots and the flipper can be moved from side to side. Legendary singer and actor Elvis Presley's death on August 16, 1977, stunned the music industry and devastated millions of fans worldwide. In the days following his funeral, speculation grew among a small group of skeptics that Elvis might not have died after all. Despite clear statements from doctors and a coroner that he was dead, disbelievers were adamant that he had faked his own death to go into hiding. There are even theories that Elvis's twin brother, who died at birth, never really died and sometimes took his brother's place on stage. I remember repeated forced limbo games in school, on spirit days or athletics days, or the occasional picnic. The attempt to sincerely try to get as low as you could go, in front of everybody -- well, the chances of failure seemed too high for my pride. I was gangly, averse to physical embarrassment. So instead of really trying, I made a goofy show of failing. If I couldn't win, I'd make people laugh. I'd flail my arms and knock down the pole. They couldn't make me go low. My little form of protest. My little version of perfectionism. Mockingbird Ministries director, David Zahl, has just released a book called Low Anthropology, in hopes of reaching a perfectionism-saturated Western culture with the grace and love of God. The life God has for us -- of joy, peace, and yes, righteousness, becoming better at being human, begin and subsist, first and always, in humility and a realistic view of ourselves and others. If that book could have spoken to my limbo-evading self, it might say, "Enough with the pretense dear, goofy, misguided child of God. You're going to fail. You're going to look stupid and be ridiculous. You're going to do it wrong. It's not about how low you can go. You're human -- you're already pretty low. The difference is, do you want to go through this with grace? And have some genuine laughs along the way?" David Zahl is founder and director of Mockingbird Ministries and editor-in-chief of the Mockingbird website. David also serves on the staff of Christ Episcopal Church, Charlottesville, Virginia, as college and adult education minister. He is the author of A Mess of Help: From the Crucified Soul of Rock N' Roll; Seculosity: How Career, Parenting, Technlogy, Food, Politics, and Romance Became Our New Religion and What To Do About It; and his newest book is, of course, Low Anthropology: The Unlikely Key to a Gracious View of Others (and Yourself). Our interviewer is the Rev. Zac Koons, rector of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Austin, Texas. A word about our human plight is, through Jesus, always a word of hope. And we hope you enjoy the conversation. Check out Low Anthropology: The Unlikely Key to a Gracious View of Others (and Yourself). --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/living-church/support

Yeah, this one comes with a trigger warning. Three trigger warnings, to be precise. But, if you've listened to any previous episodes you know the kind of thrills our duo trigger. Let's just point out that ‘dry humping my ankle', ‘hairy asshole', ‘he struggles with his desire to bang me with his friend and love Jesus at the same time' and a dancing clitoris are not included in the trigger warning. So, you know you have to listen… Oh yes, and Heaven explains how WD40 was her entry drug. Few bands have come from as little and made as much of themselves as Oasis. Along the way they were wildly entertaining — unlike anything England or the United States had ever seen — and fully committed to the life of the rock star and to making the greatest rock ‘n' roll music the world had ever heard. Through it all they famously fought, with fans, with police and with each other. They drank excessively and did copious amounts of drugs and didn't care who knew about it. They were England's new rock ‘n' roll saviors and they were stacked with Beatlesesque hooks and Sex Pistols-inspired attitude and seemingly, always, on the verge of breaking up. Sniffing glue, hooking for drug money, hurling rocks at the Beatles, and writing infectious sunshiny melodies about their grimy reality, the Ramones were what the world needed in 1976. As rock ‘n' roll was getting bloated with excessive experimentation and unfortunate forays into disco, four cretins from Queens stripped it all away to two-minute three-chord anthems with hard, fast backbeats and buzzing guitars. They adopted the same surname to solidify their brotherhood, and they lived like brothers and fought like brothers to the very bitter end. Listen to hear how the Ramones saved rock ‘n' roll.
