Beginnen möchten wir dieses Jahr mit einer umwerfenden musikalischen Geschichte vom Potsdamer DJ und Producer Florian Rietze. Musik war schon immer ein wichtiger Begleiter im Leben von Florian, wurde er ja in eine Musikerfamilie reingeboren. In seiner Jugend war er in der Hip-Hop Szene unterwegs und aktiver Breakdancer. Diese Einflüsse sind seiner Musik auch immer noch anzumerken. Nach einem Besuch beim SonneMondSterne Festival 2005 war dann klar wo die musikalische Reise hingeht … ganz tief in die elektronische Musik. Für diesen Podcast hat sich Florian besonders viel Zeit genommen und viel Mühe in die Trackauswahl gesteckt. Er wollte mal eine längere Story erzählen, wie er selbst sagt, und dabei alle Facetten seiner musikalischen Leidenschaft präsentieren. Dabei ist eine wunderbare 2,5 stündige Reise durch die elektronische Musik entstanden, deren Stimmungsbogen seines gleichen sucht. Mumbai/Berlin based selector, producer and Regenerate crew member Troja goes deep for mix #098. Trideep Roy is the latest beat maker to contribute to our expanding list of mixes here at Wild City. The Mumbai based producer and DJ has been spinning tunes across the country and established crews like Bhavishyavani future Soundz, Dusdozen and KRUNK in the past. Troja believes his music is a product of his travels in Europe, where’s he spent a large chunk of his life. Despite having started his journey in Scotland, it’s obvious in his mix that Berlin – Germany in general – has played a major role in shaping his musical sensibilities. Troja went back to the city this summer to take up residency at Suicide Circus and play for crowds in the region. The musician is also one half of a collaborative project called Botief. His hour long, exclusive mix for Wild City explores a range of deep house perfect to match the energy of a post party. It begins with Florian Rietze who eases things in with the pulsating ‘Treibholz’ and continues to cover a number of (largely German) gems including BLANCAh, Stephan Bodzin, Spanish producer Upercent and more. Growing up in the city of Berlin he was highly influenced by the electronic music scene in the 90’s. He spent a couple of years in Chicago and Shanghai where he got involved with the local electronic music scene, which ultimately shaped his outlook on electronic music today. With Techno music and DJing being his greatest passion for a long time he started to work on his own productions in 2008. Since then he has produced Techno, Tech-House and Minimal music for various record labels worldwide. In 2012 he joined the Berlin based Deep House Label Steyoyoke. He is responsible for the most successful Steyoyoke release in collab​oration with Antonio Olivieri, ‘If I Were Music’. The most original sound on Steyoyoke comes fully endorsed by DJ W!ld, Larsson, Dyed Soundorom, Aki Bergen and ONNO. Proceeding with his new name he has done remixes for Soul Button, Florian Rietze and Sasch. In the summer of 2013 MPathy makes his solo voice heard for the first time with an established and rousing first EP ‘I’m Yours’ for Steyoyoke, a collab​oration with the seductive vocals of the highly talented singer and songwriter Amy Capilari. With so much more to come from this young artist, ‘Iʼm Yours’ is testament to the philosophy that drives MPathy forward.
