Coleen Greenwood spent almost two and a half years in a relationship with a man she knew as James Scott. He said he was a divorced firefighter who wanted to marry and go into business with her - but it was all based on a lie. Her story is the subject of a new BBC podcast series Love-Bombed with Vicki Pattison. Ahead of its launch we speak to Coleen about the impact the relationship had on her; and to DC Chris Bentham, who investigated the case. A boy and girl, both aged 15, have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of 16-year-old Brianna Ghey at a park in Warrington. This follows on from an incident last Monday, where a teenage girl was injured in what police have described as a "serious racially aggravated assault". Recent statistics from the Ministry of Justice show that there were 3,500 proven knife and offensive weapon offences committed by children between 2020 and 2021. We hear the latest from BBC's Rowan Bridge in Warrington and from Zoe Cooke, a campaigner against knife crime whose son Byron was stabbed to death in 2021. Do writers of memoirs focusing on traumatic events need protection? Does the publishing industry need to come up with guidelines to protect writers? Terri White, author of the memoir Coming Undone and Kit de Waal author of Without Warning & Only Sometimes: Scenes from an Unpredictable Childhood discuss. Plus who are you at work? Workplace consultant Gabriella Braun explain how psychoanalysis can reveal some hidden truths behind our behaviour. From interactions with your boss triggering feelings about your parents, to colleagues setting off old issues of sibling rivalries, Presenter Nuala McGovern Producer Beverley Purcell

This week's show covers new music from Catalonia's Rosalía, from Malian guitarist and singer Vieux Farka Touré backed up by Houston's Khruangbin, a new tune from Durham, NC's The Mountain Goats, and Cambridge, England's Anish Kumar. For the archive track this week, Brendan whips out a favorite from 14 years ago, from Melbourne's Cut Copy. This is perhaps their signature song, “Lights & Music,” expertly produced by Tim Goldsworthy, then affiliated with DFA Records. While it came out in 2008, it has some many elements from dance and indie music that is still sounds great, all these years later. Of course, there are six more bonus tracks, but you have to sign up for our email newsletter to get those. This week's show covers new music from Cambridgeshire's SBTRKT, Newcastle Upon Tyne's Kathryn Williams, London's Jessie Ware, and West London's George Riley. For the archive track this week, Mark breaks out of our recent ‘90s fixation with a tune from the aughts, 2007 in fact. Off to Paris for the Michael Jackson besotted “D.A.N.C.E” by the one and only Justice. (They soundtrack that electric Volvo XC 60 ad too, though with a different tune.) Yes, time is a flat circle and music from 2007 still sounds futuristic.  ;)Of course, there are six more bonus tracks, but you have to sign up for our email newsletter to get those. This week's show covers new music from Melbourne's The Pro-Teens, London's Two Shell, Brooklyn's Mice Parade, and Toronto's Alvvays. For the archive track this week, Mark goes back to 1994 for a slice of what was called slowcore back in the day, from a California band who went as Idaho. The song in question is entitled “Sweep,” from the band's This Way Out album. Not the happiest lyrics, but slowcore was generally known for that sort of somber songwriting. (Brendan considers this genre to be the antidote to grunge and all the bombast of the early 1990s.)Of course, there are six more bonus tracks, but you have to sign up for our email newsletter to get those. If you know of Ash, you will probably know this tune, as it was a Number 5 hit on the UK Top Ten that summer. This week's show covers new music from Bristol's Ishmael Ensemble, remixed by Medlar, London's Sports Team, and while we are there, a new tune from Dry Cleaning, and similar from LA's MUNA. For the archive track this week, Mark goes back to 1993 for a slice of electronic music from the Scottish act Finitribe. This song's title is “An Unexpected Groovy Treat” and it sits right on the line between industrial music and the influence of early acid house. Sampling was primitive, but an integral part of Finitribe's approach. Plus, it certainly qualifies as a banger of its era! Of course, there are six more bonus tracks, but you have to sign up for our email newsletter to get those. That record came out in the summer of 1968, and it features the work of keyboard ace Al Kooper and former Electric Flag guitar maestro Mike Blookfield. (On side two, Stephen Stills plays the guitars, but we will save that for another time.) The tune in question here is entitled “Albert's Shuffle,” which just has to be a nod to Albert King—one of the Three Kings of the Blues style. (B.B. and Freddie being the others.) © artwork by Jim aka Bock&Fuchs ➲ contact ✉ info@bockundfuchs.com Xique-Xique (https://soundcloud.com/djdunwich) presents Afterhour Sounds Podcast Nr. 233 Our Nr. 233 today comes from a DJ and producer I've been following for a very long time. His sound had already fascinated me at that time, because it simply could not be put into a certain pigeonhole. A feature that fascinates me anew. But often only at 2nd glance. So also with Xavier, a Brazilian from the musical house of @voodoohop. A characteristic that goes hand in hand with his sound. The set recorded by them is a delightfully 'afterhouresque' journey into the thicket of discreetly melodic, playful and sometimes trippy electronic music. Enriched with a lot of instrumental passages, which again give the whole thing a more organic charm. I was actually completely flashed the first time I heard the set, although I was secretly expecting such a sound after all. Still, it surprised me. That's always the great thing about his music. You have a hunch at first, then you start to doubt whether you were actually wrong, and in the end you sit in your chair with your headphones on your ears, flabbergasted. Always ingenious, when the artists with so much attention to detail to the thing approach and create something completely unique. Namely his afterhour sound. That this is unfortunately no longer a matter of course today, does not need to be said at this point. All the more it makes me / us happy that we could win Xavier with a set. And that shortly before the release of his debut album. Fasten your seatbelts... I can only repeat myself, but you can expect a journey through playful and hypnotic fields, which are made for an afterhour....seem excited. Schnallt euch an… Chapeu. ✘ Tobi Tobermann (Frankfurt) www.mixcloud.com/tobitobermann www.instagram.com/saibototibow www.facebook.com/tobitobermann www.soundcloud.com/tobi-tobermann
