Episode Overview In this powerful episode, John Kitchens sits down with industry powerhouse Kendall Bonner to talk about building true authority in real estate. From launching the CLIMBR Community to creating the Industry Speaks Academy, Kendall breaks down how agents can elevate from local operator to industry voice. They dive deep into personal branding, performance credibility, referral credibility, AI leverage, and why now is the time to stop playing small. If you've ever thought about growing beyond transactions — into influence, impact, and scale — this episode is your blueprint. Because the future belongs to those who learn, unlearn, and relearn. Key Topics Covered The Climber Community: Raising the Industry Standard Why today's real estate industry is drowning in noise The shift from information economy to trust economy How AI is accelerating both opportunity and skill gaps Why agents must look outside the industry for innovation Building a brand-agnostic, global community focused on growth Kendall explains how Climber Community was born from a mastermind moment — and why it exists to help agents adapt faster than the market changes. The Trust Crisis in Real Estate Most transparent time in history — yet least trusting AI-generated content and credibility challenges Why sales skepticism is at an all-time high The importance of leading with transparency In a world where consumers question everything, trust becomes your greatest differentiator. Personal Brand vs. Industry Brand Kendall breaks down the difference between: Building a scalable personal brand Elevating into an industry-level voice Diversifying marketing beyond traditional lead gen Structuring your business for scale using AI Her advice: Before you grow louder, grow more organized. The Credibility Gap: Why Most Speakers Never Break Through Kendall introduces her three-level credibility framework from the Industry Speaks Academy: Street Credibility You must have real experience and expertise. No shortcuts. Performance Credibility You must put in reps. Small rooms → Mid-size rooms → Large stages. One speech is not enough. Referral Credibility Event organizers need signals: Professional speaker assets Stage footage (not podcasts) Referrals from trusted sources Most aspiring speakers skip steps 2 and 3 — and never understand why opportunities stall. Why Speaking Changes Everything Being on stage: Opens rooms you'd never otherwise enter Puts you face-to-face with decision makers Expands your influence beyond production Elevates your perceived authority instantly Kendall shares how stages transformed her career — connecting her with CEOs, brand leaders, and national organizations. AI as Your Strategic Thought Partner Instead of fearing AI, Kendall recommends: Using AI to operationalize your business Organizing systems for scale Creating structure before growth Treating AI like a business consultant Scale doesn't come from hustle alone. It comes from structure. Resources Mentioned Climber Community → climbercommunity.com Industry Speaks Academy → speakonrealestatestages.com Authority Gap Assessment Speaker Readiness Checklist The Road Less Stupid – Keith Cunningham Alvin Toffler quote on learning, unlearning, relearning Final Takeaway The quality of your life — and your business — is a direct reflection of what you make non-negotiable. If you want to grow beyond transactions: Structure your business Build credibility intentionally Put in the reps Seek rooms that stretch you Learn, unlearn, relearn Because in 2026 and beyond, authority won't belong to the loudest voice. It will belong to the most prepared one. In a podcast recorded at ITEXPO / MSP EXPO, Doug Green, Publisher of Technology Reseller News, spoke with Mike Wehrs, CTO of TieTechnology, about the upcoming launch of Genie 1.1 and the company's broader mission to reposition voice as a fully integrated component of modern IT infrastructure. TieTechnology focuses on making voice a “first-tier partner” within business systems rather than a disconnected afterthought. Genie, the company's SMB product family, provides a backend softphone capability for PCs along with applications that connect voice into tools such as Slack, CRMs, and EMRs. With Genie 1.1, the company is deepening its ability to capture, transcribe, summarize, and structure voice interactions so that the most valuable customer data—what was actually said—flows directly into business systems. “AI is not magic,” Wehrs noted. “If you don't have good data going into the system, you're not going to get the results out of it that you want.” He emphasized that many organizations layer AI on top of incomplete infrastructure, resulting in underperformance. Genie addresses that gap by cleaning audio streams, identifying speakers, summarizing conversations, and delivering structured data—often in JSON format—into CRM environments. The result, according to Wehrs, can represent as much as a 40 percent increase in high-quality CRM data, driving better customer support, marketing automation, and operational insight. For MSPs, the opportunity is twofold. First, Genie simplifies voice integration through straightforward APIs, eliminating the need to understand complex SIP stacks or telecom architecture. Second, it opens new revenue potential by allowing MSPs to modernize dated phone systems and embed voice-driven intelligence directly into client workflows. As Wehrs framed it, voice should become as native to the PC environment as networking did in the Windows 95 era—fully integrated, flexible, and foundational to digital operations. Stop Buying Cheap Swag: Branded Merch that Elevates Your Brand with Eric Turney

Is your "swag" secretly hurting your brand? In this episode of Sales & Cigars, Walter sits down with Eric Turney from The Monterey Company to talk about why your promo gear should do more than just check a box—it should actually say something about your brand. Eric shares his unconventional path from construction, to almost becoming a physical therapist, to "falling backward" into sales and eventually buying the company he worked for. He and Walter dig into the real differences between being a great salesperson and being a great sales manager, handling customers who only care about price, and why saying "no" is sometimes the most professional move you can make. They also get into the nuts and bolts of branded merch: why quality matters, how to help clients think beyond cheap t-shirts, and what the pandemic and shipping chaos taught Eric's team about communication, margins, and long-term customer loyalty. If you've ever ordered promo products for an event, trade show, or team—and regretted it—this one's for you. In This Episode: College vs reality – Why what you learn in college has almost nothing to do with building wealth or becoming an entrepreneur. Rich Dad, Poor Dad mindset – The books that shifted Eric's view of money, business, and long-term wealth creation. From construction to custom merch – How a layoff, a false start in physical therapy, and a new baby on the way pushed Eric into sales at The Monterey Company. Learning sales on the fly – Word tracks, repetition, and what he learned from a top car salesman buddy. The Dutch Bros lesson – Why consistently great experience beats mediocre product—and how Eric trains his reps to "bottle" that. Salesperson vs sales manager – Why being good at selling doesn't automatically make you good at leading a sales team—and what Eric had to learn the hard way. Needing to be liked – Staying up late worrying about orders, over-promising, and the shift from "pushover" to respected advisor. When to say no – Recognizing problem customers, setting boundaries, and why "if they come for price, they'll leave for price." Niche focus – How Monterey naturally gravitated to government, military, and public service clients—and what those buyers really need. Helping the real decision-maker – Working with marketing coordinators and event planners who are tasked with buying merch but don't know where to start. The Core Four sales process – Call leads quickly, text often, quote fast, and get an art proof in front of the customer ASAP. COVID, ports, and tariffs – Container costs jumping 10x, shipping delays, switching to air freight, and choosing to eat margin to preserve long-term relationships. Quality vs cheap – Why spending 20–50% more can result in a 10x better product—and how that shows up in customer perception. Brand alignment in merch – Walmart polos vs Carhartt gear, why your team's apparel reflects your brand values, and how "one thing is how you do everything." Upselling the smart way – Medals plus shirts, plus stickers; building better event experiences instead of just pushing more product. Lifetime value thinking – Why Eric would rather lose margin on a few orders than lose a great client for good. Cigars & solitude – Eric's "special occasion" approach to cigars and why a great stick pairs well with quiet, not crowds. In this episode of Quick Fire Friday, host Michael Denehey interviews Andrew Griffiths on the Grow A Small Business Podcast to dive into Andrew's book Someone Has to Be the Most Expensive. In this episode, they explore why embracing premium pricing can transform a business from the ground up, strengthen financial resilience, and attract higher-quality clients. Andrew shares insights on shifting from a poverty mindset, building real value beyond price, and developing the courage to charge what you're truly worth. The conversation also highlights practical steps for business owners to reposition themselves, elevate their brand, and create long-term sustainability. Key Takeaways for Small Business Owners: Stop Competing on Price: Competing as the cheapest is a race to the bottom — it attracts the wrong customers and limits growth. Value Is More Than Money: Customers pay for experience, expertise, reliability, energy, and creativity — not just the product. Premium Pricing Builds Stronger Businesses: Being the most expensive helps you attract better clients, improve financial resilience, and survive tough times. Our hero crafts outstanding reviews following the experience of listening to our special guests. Are you the one we've been waiting for? Mindset Is Everything: Breaking free from a poverty mindset and believing in your worth is essential to charging higher prices. Reposition Before Raising Prices: You can't "put lipstick on a wombat." Rebrand, refine services, and improve the experience before increasing prices. You Will Lose Some Clients — and That's Good: Raising prices naturally filters out low-value customers, making room for clients who appreciate and pay for quality. One action small business owners can take: According to Andrew Griffiths, one action small business owners can take is to courageously raise their prices to reflect their true value — starting with a clear plan, improving their offering, and confidently communicating the change to their customers. Retail buying doesn't have to be overwhelming—or lonely. This week, Ashley sits down with Angela Schmook (Roadrunners, Reps Are Local Too) and Kelly Bristol (Just Gotta Have It, GHTA leader) to reveal why your local sales reps might be the most powerful, underused resource in your business. Fresh from the GHTA Conference in Park City, they break down how reps support retailers far beyond taking orders: helping with events, securing promos and exclusives, spotting local trends, and giving you insider knowledge you'll never get from ordering online. They also unpack the shift toward lifestyle retail—where home, gift, and apparel collide—and how to approach markets with confidence, even if you've never stepped inside a showroom before. You'll learn: What reps really do and why working with one is free How reps help you buy smarter, plan better, and spot trends early How showrooms actually work (and why you shouldn't feel intimidated) Why home, gift, and apparel are merging into lifestyle retail How to prepare for January markets and build stronger vendor relationships

Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. US bureau chief Jacob Magid joins host Jessica Steinberg for today's episode. During the White House visit of Saudi Arabia's Prince Mohammed bin Salman, known as MBS, US President Donald Trump elevates the status of Saudi Arabia in the eyes of the US, says Magid, along with several defense guarantees and sales of weapons. Israel hoped those gestures would be conditioned upon the Saudis normalizing conditions with the Jewish state, but went along with the announcement, discusses Magid. The recent UN Security Council vote gives the Board of Peace the mandate to redevelop Gaza over the next two years, says Magid, as well as a vague pathway toward a Palestinian state after that period. A resolution to establish the International Stabilization Force and the agreement on the demilitarization of Gaza were included in the vote, although it will be a tougher sell to get countries to contribute armed forces, discusses Magid, who calls the vote an internationalization of the conflict and a victory for the Trump administration. Fadwa Barghouti, the wife of prominent Palestinian prisoner Marwan Barghouti speaks with Magid for her first Israeli media interview, as part of her push for her husband's release. Barghouti tells Magid now could be the time for his release, as it could be an opportunity to work toward peace. Check out The Times of Israel's ongoing liveblog for more updates. How does a three-person L&D team support 23,000 associates across seven states? In this episode, Chris Chappell, Director of Learning & Development at Weis Markets, shares how servant leadership, clear career paths, and just-in-time video microlearning are elevating the employee experience—and the customer experience—across retail, manufacturing, and logistics. Show Notes:Weis Market's Chris Chappell offers many key takeaways to empower team members to succeed. His top points include: Lead as a servant, not a boss. Chris Chappell centers L&D on servant leadership—meeting associates' needs, anchoring to mission, and role-modeling behaviors so people trust and follow. Career paths + strong leadership = retention. Provide clear growth paths and accountable leaders. Weis Markets' leadership development now spans five levels and correlates with higher engagement and reduced turnover that is 20–25 points lower than retail averages. Make learning “in the moment.” Snapshot video microlearning—accessed via QR codes embedded in SOPs—powers fast cross-training (e.g., moving a bakery associate to deli) and reduces friction during call-offs. Do fewer things, better. “Ruthless prioritization” keeps work aligned to mission, strategy, core operations, and compliance. The team consolidated ~1,798 courses to ~800 and is rebuilding high-value content for mobile delivery in Workday Learning. Build a distributed training network. Centralize standards and content, then empower expert trainers across departments to deliver. Add feedback loops with structured homework and report-outs so learners hold themselves accountable. Powered by Learning earned Awards of Distinction in the Podcast/Audio and Business Podcast categories from The Communicator Awards and a Gold and Silver Davey Award. As Vice President of aftersales for Nissan Americas, she leads a team of more than 1,600 people in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and South America. Her leadership philosophy? Constant gentle pressure. The phrase, which came from Danny Meyer, perfectly captures how Kim shows up daily. To her, "constant" means persistence and accountability. "Gentle" means having your team's back while guiding them toward growth. And "pressure" is the drive to win, move with urgency, and deliver. Together, they form the balance she strives for: leading with calm confidence but never without expectation. At Nissan, Kim has spent years redefining what aftersales means inside the organization. For her, aftersales isn't an "afterthought," it's the engine that fuels brand loyalty and future sales. Leading across multiple countries means managing different cultures, languages, and expectations. Kim talks about how she's brought the entire Americas region together as one unified team. She does that by traveling to meet teams in person and building relationships and credibility. Over time, those consistent actions turned into a shared culture built on mutual respect and accountability. As the automotive industry evolves, Nissan is focused on simplifying its processes to make quicker decisions. Kim recalls working with the dealer advisory board to streamline 60 dealer-facing programs; removing or simplifying two-thirds to sharpen focus on what truly matters. To her, simplification isn't about doing less; it's about removing distractions so teams can move faster and stay focused on impact. She ties that same thinking to the importance of trust inside organizations. Once people trust each other and the data and systems they rely on, they no longer waste time validating every decision. That's when speed naturally follows. She also reflects on the personal side of leadership and the lessons from finding balance. Earlier in her career, while raising twins, she often hesitated to step away from work for family events. Over time, she learned that setting boundaries wasn't a weakness but a necessity. Now, she mentors others, urging them to "own their calendar," set limits, and protect their well-being. It's advice she lives by and passes down to emerging leaders who often feel pressured to choose between career and personal life.Themes discussed in this episode:How Kim Less applies “constant gentle pressure” to balance accountability, empathy, and performance in leading Nissan Aftersales AmericasThe leadership lessons Kim Less learned from Saturn and GM that shaped her people-first approach at NissanWhy calm leadership and consistency drive stronger team alignment across multiple cultures and regions in the AmericasThe business case for aftersales as a core growth engine that strengthens brand loyalty and customer lifetime valueThe transformation of Nissan's Aftersales organization through simplification, streamlined programs, and faster decision-makingThe process of uniting 1,600 employees across North and South America under one shared vision and operating modelThe importance of visiting markets and building relationships in person to earn credibility and alignmentHow setting boundaries, owning your calendar, and leading with authenticity sustain energy and focus in high-pressure rolesFeatured guest:

Today I'm speaking with my friend Jeremy Enns, the founder of Podcast Marketing Academy, an accelerator program that works with scrappy, ambitious creators and brands who are serious about podcast growth. Jeremy and I have a lot in common. We both care a lot about craft design and helping people who are already doing the work. For the last three years, Jeremy has published the Podcast Marketing Trends Report. This is a substantial piece of independent research that he produces about the state of podcast marketing, and it's had a major impact on his business. So in this episode, Jeremy walks us through, step by step, exactly how he puts together this report and how you can do it too. 2025 Podcast Marketing Trends Report Podcast Marketing Academy Tropical MBA #729 Full transcript and show notes Jeremy's Website / Instagram / Twitter / LinkedIn *** TIMESTAMPS 00:00 Podcast Growth Rate Insights 09:04 Extreme Projects and PR Opportunities 11:24 Evaluating Report's Relevance and Value 16:47 Securing Sponsorships Through Strong Concepts 24:23 Strengthening Brand through Annual Report 31:27 Avoid Confirmation Bias in Reports 37:26 Curiosity-Driven Research Approach 38:54 Survey Design Skills Essential 46:13 Maximizing Survey Response Rates 51:57 Podcast Performance Analysis Strategies 55:41 DIY Data Visualization Strategy 01:02:51 Podcast Industry Networking Insights 01:06:31 Collaborative Blog Strategy and Podcast 01:12:30 Navigating Data Analysis with AI *** RECOMMENDED NEXT EPISODE → #188: Richard van der Blom – How the man behind the LinkedIn Algorithm Report uses LinkedIn. *** ASK CREATOR SCIENCE → Submit your question here *** WHEN YOU'RE READY

Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are facing different forms of pressure. Caitlin Clark has been carrying her team and has made an incredible return, recently defeating the undefeated New York Liberty. In that game, she recorded six three-pointers in the first half and finished with 32 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists. On the other hand, Angel Reese contributed significantly with 11 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists, leading her team to victory over the Connecticut Sun. It's important to note that criticism can diminish delusion and foster humility. Humility is the foundation of progress and evolution, unlike anger or bitterness. This stands in stark contrast to the BIG3 league, where Stephen Jackson, a BIG3 coach, attempted to fight a player and Dwight Howard and Lance Stephenson got into an altercation. That league is unlikely to grow because you can't build anything with anger and a victim mentality. Lastly, Jason Whitlock shares his thoughts on Stephen A. Smith, who was caught playing solitaire on his phone during the NBA Finals.
