The Pain McShlonkey Classic is arguably the most important event in all of skiing. The coveted Golden Saucer is up for grabs, and this year, 60 ski bladers had KT early ups on a Saturday pow day. The weekend's goal is to raise money in the name of our time's most important skiers and personalities. While Shane McConkey didn't look like an elite level athlete, he was way more than that: the funniest guy everyone knew, the most inclusive, the most awesome, and McShlonkey weekend is a way to celebrate his life and times with his friends at his home of Palisades. I put out a yearly podcast recapping the event and digging up old McConkey stories for your entertainment. This year, while you don't know all the names, the McConkey stories do not disappoint. Final Fantasy VII is in the conversation for the most nostalgic video game ever, mainly due to its music. On this episode of Side Quests, Mr. Wes Schantz and I discuss (a) the epoch-making "date" scene at the Golden Saucer; (b) we then discuss the significance of Cait Sith's betrayal, and (c) differing approaches to playing a video game, and how the game, like life, allows for this. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/alexander-schmid9/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/alexander-schmid9/support
Probably the most iconic RPG in the history of Video Games, Final Fantasy VII has it’s share of supporters, critics and lore all to it’s own. But something that’s not covered to often is the amount of diversions, mini-games and distractions in the game that pad the game time and spawned even MORE games in the years to come after. We Also Discuss: * PS4 Spiderman * DragonQuest 11

Featuring... @Fybrile @Maaja @Kolossus @Sword In this episode Fybrile drinks way too much coffee, Majaa's house gets finished, Kolossus speaks a little Chinese and Sword sings a song. We go over what we know about the Golden Saucer in 2.5.1, Cafe Eorzea, in-game marriages, relic weapons in 3.0 and a lots of other stuff. The crew is extremely happy (and relieved) to get this episode out, as we've been having issues with recording for a few months now. Apologies to all of our listeners for the delay, but we're back, and we hope that you enjoy the episode! If you're interested in being a part of The Echo, we'd love to hear from you! Send us your plugs, you shout-outs, your achievements, your segments, we've love to give them a spot in one of our upcoming episodes. And, as always, we're still looking for a crafter to come on and be the host of our Crafters' Corner segment. If you're interested, give us a PM or just feel free to reply to one of our threads on the Realm! Also, head over to Facebook to give us a "like" HERE. And we've just started a Twitter feed HERE, where we'll be posting a lot of stuff for (and during) the show. This episode's intermission song is played by the one and only HuskyByTheGeek. You can check out the song, Husky's other FFXIV covers, and buy his albums HERE. And last but not least, a big thanks and apology to @Solanales for the mix-ups in our previous recording attempts. Keep your eyes open here and at the 404 Guild Not Found website for their next big community event! Enjoy~
Rich and Jake play from Junon up until they get their butts kicked out of the Golden Saucer. Good, because it sucks there anyway. There's a really stupid parade, a not so relaxing beach resort, Cait Sith's irritating introduction, and a crapload of Barrett hating awaits you in the next installment of Damn Chocobo!
