A new MP3 sermon from Emmaus Reformed Baptist Church is now available on SermonAudio with the following details: Title: True Remedies For An Anxious Heart Subtitle: The Gospel According To Luke Speaker: Joe Anady Broadcaster: Emmaus Reformed Baptist Church Event: Sunday - AM Date: 7/21/2024 Bible: Luke 12:22-34 Length: 49 min.
Anxiety exists because sin exists. Our hearts were never meant to be anxious, and yet because of Genesis 3, they are. This anxious heart of ours needs hope, and it needs to be changed from the inside out. Joe shows us three ways to pursue hope in an anxious world, from the book of 1 Peter. The post This Anxious Heart appeared first on Caz Church.
QUOTES FOR REFLECTION“I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it's not the answer.”~Jim Carey (1962-present), Actor “Worry is like a rocking chair; it keeps you moving but doesn't get you anywhere.”~Corrie Ten Boom (1892-1983), Author and Holocaust Survivor “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”~Matthew 6:34 (ESV) “Our anxiety often reveals a refusal to trust God's fatherly providence. And, whenever we start ignoring that, there's always a devil along to adopt us, to promise us bread instead of stones, fish instead of snakes. We don't recognize the reptilian voice, but we look into our future, or into our Bibles, and wonder nonetheless, ‘Has God really said?'”~Russell Moore (1971-present), Author and TheologianSERMON PASSAGELuke 12:22-34 (ESV) 22 And he said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. 24 Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! 25 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 26 If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? 27 Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! 29 And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. 30 For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you. 32 “Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

How does Jesus help calm our worries? Like a tender shepherd Jesus knows his sheep, and he knows his preceding words about worldly wealth may exacerbate our anxiety. Join us as we see him remind us of the fullness of our life, our value in our Father's eyes, and the futility of our anxiety to give us anything of value. Drawing on his words in this and earlier paragraphs we also consider the practical means he provides us to combat the worry and anxiety that beset us. May God increase our faith!

Welcome to the Drive Thru Mom's Podcast! On today's podcast we welcome Dr. Melissa Ewing, an adjunct professor at Dallas Baptist University and former children's minister to discuss anxiety in adults and children. We discuss how to recognize the signs of an anxiety disorder in ourselves, the children in our sphere of influence and what outward expressions to look for. Dr. Ewing also talks about how anxiety and stress in children is different from adults, things we can do to help as adults in their life and when to reach out for professional help. As parents, our children and the ways we handle the weight of anxious seasons can have lasting affects on the kiddos we love, and how we approach this conversation from a Christian perspective is one full of hope. Welcome to the Drive Thru Mom's Podcast! Happy Wednesday! Can you describe what the Bible has to say about God's plan to be with us in a few sentences? Or what character trait of God has he shown you through your quiet times? For me, it is that God is my provision. God has always been the answer to the nagging questions in my life. From the loudest 'what if's', to the quiet self doubt, Jehoveh Jireh, the Lord will provide, is my comfort and seen in scripture from start to finish. Today I am sharing how God has used scripture, people around me and reflection to reveal his provision and love for me from the very beginning...past and present. He is FAITHFUL BEFORE, FAITHFUL AGAIN. Everyone has their own story, but we are all meant to share what God has done in our lives. There are more episodes in the weeks to come with Dr. Melissa Ewing on parenting from and to an anxious heart. Thanks for listening and sharing with moms in your world! ENJOY!
