Guest host Alistair Hirst returns to Dolby Creator Talks to speak with the audio team behind "Star Wars Outlaws," one of the most successful games of last year. Developed by Ubisoft's Massive Entertainment in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, the title delivers a rich, cinematic gameplay experience — thanks to its immersive sound design and dynamic score. Recently nominated for a BAFTA in Audio Achievement, the team shares how they built the game's soundscape from the ground up, mixing original Star Wars recordings with new field material to create unique environments, iconic weapons, and vehicles. They also explain how Dolby Atmos® was used to deepen the spatial realism — from starships above to rain on rooftops — and how their creative approach to sound design gave the game its gritty, signature edge.“First and foremost, we landed on three main pillars... The first of them being a cinematic experience... We really wanted to tell a story using audio... The second was making it a true and authentic Star Wars experience... And finally, we coined the phrase we call the scoundrel sound... It's about keeping the grit from the original trilogy, but also updating the sounds to make them sound fresh and new.”—Simon Koudriavtsev, Audio Director, "Star Wars Outlaws"Joining today's conversation from Massive Entertainment: - Simon Koudriavtsev - Audio Director - Jacob Coles - Lead Audio Designer - Martin Weissberg - Principal Audio Designer - Simon Siegfried Klar - Senior Audio DesignerBe sure to check out "Star Wars Outlaws," available now in Dolby Atmos®, on supported platforms. Please subscribe to Dolby Creator Talks wherever you get your podcasts. You can also check out the video for this episode on YouTube.Learn more about the Dolby Creator Lab and check out Dolby.com.
⚔️ Lords of the Fallen 2.0: por fin terminado y prometiendo mejoras importantes.
In today's Daily Fix:After a couple weeks of internal deliberation, Nintendo has finally announced when customers in the United States can preorder the highly anticipated Switch 2: April 24. In related news, the Switch 2 version of Star Wars Outlaws will drop in September, and the new DLC featuring fan-favorite outlaw Hondo Ohnaka will be available in May. And finally, Marvel Rivals is celebrating beach weather with new swimsuit skins. Hey there folks, and welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! This week Josh and Colin and joined by none other than Skrilus, hot off of his recent acquisition of the Devil May Cry platinum, to discuss all things trophies, statistics, and PlayStation. We start off the show talking about the recent news surrounding WB Games and the closure of three of their primary studios including Monolith. What does this mean for the future of the IP under the WB banner and do we think the closures were justified? From there we move in to Platinum shout outs pulled from our Discord community before jumping into a whole slew of questions. How do we feel about our current backlog for 2025? Is there one particular game that we already have the platinum in that we want to go back for the DLC and 100%? What are our thoughts on Shuhei Yoshida's departure from PlayStation and Sony? All of these questions fill up a good chunk of time and discussion. Additionally, the crew takes a stab at (with no research) compiling the list of the top 6 most difficult games to Platinum. As you can imagine, there are some familiar names there but some of the nominees might surprise you! Lastly we get into what we've been playing across the month of February. Skrilus goes into more detail on his journey to conquer Devil May Cry, and just what bosses and strategies ended up making the difference for him. Josh earns a staggering 13 Platinum trophies across the month but focuses primarily on Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii and Pacific Drive, and Colin finally completes Star Wars: Outlaws before jumping into another boomer shooter classic in TimeSplitters. Thank you as always for listening to the episode, we hope that you enjoy!

Hello everybody! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! In this episode, Josh and Colin break down the news and game release information from Xbox's most recent Developer Direct, as well as other news of Forza Horizon 5 coming to PS5. What does this mean for your trophy statistics and backlog? Well, namely there's a shit ton of trophies coming our way. If games from Xbox Studios are any indication, the coming titles like Forza and even Master Chief Collection will keep their exact same trophy lists / achievements lists. On the one hand that's great, you have many many many trophies to potentially earn. At the same time this thinking is a bit sloppy. Trophy lists were never and are never designed in this same way on the PlayStation side. The end result is something like MCC which contains 700 achievements potentially coming over to PS5. Is that really what we want? Or is there a better middle ground where games are brought over with trophy lists designed in a thoughtful way. On top of all that we of course have platinum shout outs and rage gods shout outs brought to you from our Discord! Josh takes the reigns with hosting this episode and does a fantastic job highlighting the smaller and more obscure titles that our community has been chasing Platinums in. Finally, listener inquiries and what we've been playing round out the show. Josh has been chasing his dream of becoming the new drummer for a rock group in his recent VR adventures, as well as chancing survival in multiple games with exclusion zones, (Pacific Drive, and Stalker). Colin continues his incredibly long grind with Resident Evil: Revelations, as well as chats Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League, and his first 20 hours or so with Star Wars: Outlaws. Thank you so so much for listening to the episode, we hope that you enjoy!

Fans of Monty Python may know Terry Gilliam as the animator of their bizarre cartoons featured on the show. Or as the only American born member of the legendary troupe. But as his career progressed, Gilliam took his imaginative talents to the director's chair. His visually stunning and sometimes uncomfortable films thrust you into dream-like worlds and explored important characteristics of society. From the time-hopping child view of Time Bandits, to the award winning exploration of class structure in Brazil, Gilliam takes you on a brain trip with each of his tales. If it weren't for his terrible luck during productions, we may have even more to explore. This is Terry Gilliam.
