Episode 275: Self-love memes can have quite an impact on us—both positively and negatively. This podcast episode is all about debunking popular "inspirational" self-love memes that float around the interwebs. We normally think of memes as relatively harmless, but they're often used to propagate ideas and influence thoughts in our culture, which can be dangerous when you don't take the time to truly pay attention to what's behind the words. Madelyn Moon is stepping on her soapbox to talk about one self-love meme in particular that got her attention recently. The meme states, "If I disappear on you, it's out of self-love." She discusses why this meme is incredibly toxic to our psyche. She explains why popular memes such as this can cause dissonance, wounds, and even trauma for people. Show notes: 8-week Feminine Spirit School Course gets started January 6th: Learn about the feminine/masculine, shadow sides, ancestral healing, boundary setting, empowerment, sensuality and sexuality, sovereignty and so much more. "The 3 questions to ask yourself for fierce self-honesty" episode HERE Why we shouldn't give so much power to our feelings. Why Madelyn doesn’t agree with a lot of self-love memes and why they’re harmful. An explanation of the 3 different attachment styles. Saying that you’re going to disappear is actually saying: “I have no idea how I feel and I'm completely uncomfortable with my desires in this relationship." Anyone who is disappearing on someone is coming from a place of not knowing how to articulate their feelings—not wanting to feel uncomfortable with that conversation and show their true vulnerability. Why we’re confusing what boundaries are in our society. Madelyn’s anxious attachment style. “Many people are saying no to things that have the deepest possibility for growth, in the name of self-love—they're canceling friendships, relationships, plans.” Sefl-love and self-care is a way we hide. “If you emotionally withdrawal, you are not serving anyone.” The actual vulnerability is not disappearing; it’s speaking your needs. The right person for you is going to feel like the wrong person at some point. The crucial importance of speaking what you need in your relationships. Disappearing is not an act of self-love, outside of the realm of abuse. What real, vulnerable communication is. If the world had more closure, there would be a lot less trauma. The process and Madelyn's example of creating closure. Connect with Maddy: Facebook Instagram Subscribe on Apple Podcast Download my Four Favourite Feminine Embodiment Practices

Communication is the foundation of problem solving. With technology we can do things faster and efficient. I need more people to come forward and contribute to this new force of life i.e. "follow" me and add their voices to our economic struggle. To inject a new sense of direction, it is pointless for us to watch and see things deteriorate and we do nothing about it. I do not expect you to like want I say nor appreciate what I'm trying to do. I have very limited resources, but utilize my own creative ways to learn to communicate my ideas. Excuses do not make a man - only commitment changes our perspective and thoughts about life. My point is if we keep complaining about the Government - we are not helping them find alternatives or offer solution to make them realize our challenges. By doing something about it you might be a solution everyone is looking for. So do something positive to help change our circumferences. Be proactive instead of become reactive and condemn them without offering other means to solve problems our society is faced with today. In the era of Apartheid we stood up and belonged to some community or political organization in one form or another and our contribution in the struggle to fight for our freedom was not the ANC's personal battle as a stand-alone political organization. There were both inside and outside forces who contributed to our freedom. Individuals like me were instrumental and hands-on to serve time and purpose to this effect and went to jail in solitary confinement. It was this commitment and act of passion for what we believed in to get involved in the struggle against Apartheid and its injustices that made us all free today. Read this article here there are brothers who are not being recognized for their contribution to the struggle yet they made a big difference to this country. Poets! Artists and Musician like Lefifi Tladi etc. HERE: Why should it be different today? Together we can change people's mind by allowing them to create things using their minds to express a thought rather than perpetuate chaos through looting, xenophobia or burning tires and killing foreigners - There is more we can do with our creative talents in art, music, poetry, rap, writing and publishing articles which can later on be part of our future education system. We need to be leaders and carve a path for change and prosperity for all. Keep listening and please share on Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp.

This is a Well-Weight-Wisdom 2-Minute-Tip about Motivation So, I hear some of you lose your motivation rather quickly. This is totally understandable, but it is difficult to stay motivated whey you are by yourself. So, I recommend finding a friend, accountability partner or a coach; someone to help motivate you and keep you moving. We all have weight goals and we all have goals in other areas of our lives, right? Staying on track with your motivation is hard 100% of the time. Believe me, we all have those days, me included, but what I like to do is to incorporate something I love with something doesn’t inspire me or that I am not so crazy about. But it is my well-weight duty to get it done, and yours too. For instance, I talk a lot about going to the gym. What gets me there? Well when I get on the elliptical, I listen to some of my favorite podcasts. I have been known to accidentally stay on the elliptical for as much as an hour and a half because I am so into what I was listening to that people would begin to ask me if I was almost finished so they could get on the equipment! By incorporating something that inspires you, that you can fit in or truly enjoy in your “free time,” it will help motivate – and maybe distract you a little. For me, I look forward to the chance to listen to my podcasts without interruptions – it’s my guilty pleasure. By meshing two things, one that I really need to be doing, and one that I love to do, I can’t wait to get to the gym. Read and watch more below... Motivation cont'd... The same can be applied to healthy eating, which can get boring. Ugh! That and you aren’t so crazy about preparing those healthy meals either. So, try incorporating a lot of healthy foods into your favorite dishes. I share my recipes in my More Mentoring with Lisa Facebook group. I also have a lot of food postings and ideas on Facebook, so go to facebook/lisampepe, like and follow me and you will begin to see some very easy recipes. In fact, those recipes and dishes must be easy and quick because I hate to cook! Yup, can’t be possible, you say, but believe it or not, my motivation drops through the floor at the thought of cooking. Don't get me wrong, though I don’t like cooking, I do like eating delicious healthy meals and when I do cook, everybody remarks how yummy the dish turns out. That is because I like meshing the food I like to eat with healthy alternatives. I can come up with a great dish in about 15 minutes. I cook this way all week long, so it must be fast and painless for me! That is how I stay motivated to eat healthy and work out at the gym. For more tips, visit LisaMPepe.com. Episode 146: What does it mean to actually feel the shit in life? How do you accept what’s currently happening, feel what you’re feeling, and still remain hopeful? How do you not run away or numb out when it’s so accessible? I understand what it’s like to try to push past an emotion and hurry on up to the other side. I also know the severe consequences that will occur if you don’t take the time to process and feel the heaviness of the moment. The truth is, when you avoid feeling what needs to be felt, that emotion goes “downstairs” to lift weights. It gets bigger. Heavier. Stronger. The alternative? To actually feel the emotion. The key here is feeling the emotion but not becoming it. There is a huge difference in being a human being who feels sadness versus being the sadness. In this episode of Mind Body Musings, I’m going to teach you how to feel the shit in order to feel the shift. Show notes: Looking for more focus, energy and stamina? It's quite a common experience. You hit 30 or 35 years of age and think to yourself: How did I end up HERE? Why am I working at THIS job? Living in THIS town? That's NOT what I had hoped/planned/dreamed when I was younger. In this message, Max Vanderpool makes a case for why some people end up places they didn't intend - because that's where the river took them.
