But it's the way this was figured out that really made the team chuckle -- an AI tool ran through hundreds of selfies taken at the country's 63 national parks and examined the people in the pictures. The bigger the smile, the happier the park.

Want to request a song? Tell us your rating? Send us a Text Message right now! This week on 1001 Songs That Make You Want To Die, we take on Bobby McFerrin's painfully cheerful 1988 hit “Don't Worry, Be Happy.”It's the first a cappella song to hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100, a Grammy-winning cultural monster, and possibly the only song brave enough to tell someone with no bed, no money, no partner and a pending landlord lawsuit to simply cheer up. The episode covers Bobby's fight stats, the legendary “litigate” rhyme, the idea that worrying might double your debt, George H.W. Bush using the song without McFerrin's blessing, the fake suicide rumour, and the moment the podcast officially becomes The Bobby McFerrin Four. The transcript lands on Southern beating Bobby by scrappy decision thanks to “regional pub energy and unresolved podcast rage.” Also discussed: Cocktail, Tom Cruise's sunglasses, bed thieves, Beauty and the Beast getting weird, late-night phone sex ads, NWA, and why “look at me, I'm happy” might be the worst thing you can say to another human being.Listen now, subscribe on YouTube, and whatever you do: do worry, be sad.Think you know music?Every Friday, Tower Of Music puts your music knowledge to the test.Guess the artists. He is an avid mountain ultra trail athlete, husband and father. Happiest in the company of friends and indulging in small joys, Dr. Teddy is a seeker of wild flowers, avid reader and consumer of poetry, and frequent DIY project manager, including the building of a dreamy Finnish basement sauna. In this episode, Teddy and Jon talk about the massive gaps that exist in traditional medicine for endurance athletes and why so many runners are struggling with fatigue, low energy availability, recurring injuries, and burnout without getting meaningful answers. They dive into the realities of modern healthcare, why most runners wait too long to seek help, and how Teddy approaches athlete care differently through direct primary care. The conversation also explores ferritin and iron deficiency, underfueling, GI issues in endurance sports, why so many athletes are chronically exhausted, and how curiosity plays a role both in medicine and in running.Teddy also shares stories from pacing David Roche at Leadville, witnessing the emotional moment at Foresthill during Western States, and what excellence really looks like behind the scenes. This episode is a deep look at athlete health, performance, consistency, and the systems that either support or fail runners trying to stay healthy long term.Stay connected: Learn more about Highpoint Direct Care: https://www.highpointdirectcare.com/aboutusDr. Teddy Bross on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/run.doctor/This episode is supported by:Precision Fuel & Hydration - Dial your fueling in this year. Summer always sounds exciting in theory… until suddenly you realize you've spent half of it in bed, doom scrolling, waiting for plans, or doing the exact same thing every day. It comes from trying new things, romanticizing simple moments, being more spontaneous, and actually participating in your own life instead of constantly consuming everyone else's online. In today's episode of **Hot and Unbothered**, your host **Brianna Gomez** shares 50 fun, creative, non-basic things to do this summer instead of wasting the season on your phone. From solo dates and random hobbies to anti-doomscroll habits, outdoor activities, creative projects, and ways to make your everyday life feel more exciting, this episode is your ultimate guide to having a summer that actually feels memorable. If you want this to be the summer where you feel more present, adventurous, confident, and connected to your life, this episode will give you tons of ideas to start making memories now. ☀️

Everyone has those days where nothing goes how you planned. You wake up late, you feel off, you scroll too long, and before you know it, it feels like the entire day is already wasted. And instead of fixing it, most of us spiral. We get frustrated with ourselves, overthink everything we “should have done,” and end up wasting even more time because it feels like it's already too late. But the truth is, a wasted day doesn't actually have to stay wasted. In today's episode of Hot and Unbothered, your host Brianna Gomez breaks down how to shift your mindset, reset your energy, and turn your day around— even if it already feels like you messed it up. From understanding why we spiral after a slow start to learning simple ways to rebuild momentum, this episode gives you realistic tools to recover quickly without being hard on yourself. If you've been feeling unproductive, overwhelmed, or stuck in that “I already ruined today” mindset, this conversation will help you take your power back and start again no matter what time it is.

With war, political wrangling and price hikes jockeying for headlines, it's a rare thing to sit for an hour with a large group of strangers and focus on the small pleasures in life. But that's what the show “Every Brilliant Thing” is all about. Since 2013, Duncan Macmillan's audience-participation-heavy play has been performed in dozens of languages in hundreds of locations across the globe. It revolves around a central character who writes a list of all the good things in life for a depressed parent. And while it tackles dark subject matter — including frequent mentions of a loved one's suicide — it may be one of the funniest shows about depression, ever. In this episode of “The Sunday Daily,” Michael Barbaro talks with Daniel Radcliffe, who currently stars in a Broadway production of the show, and Mariska Hargitay, who will step into the role in a few weeks. We'll also hear from the playwright and several other actors who have performed the play on stages, in living rooms, on basketball courts and aircraft carriers all over the world.   On today's episode: Daniel Radcliffe Mariska Hargitay Duncan Macmillan Candunn Jennette Greg Dragas Mugambi Nthiga Erika de la Vega Jung Sae-Byul Mohsina Akhter Tommy Schoffler Nanda Mohammad   Background reading: ‘Every Brilliant Thing,' Now Starring Daniel Radcliffe and You Daniel Radcliffe Makes ‘Every Brilliant Thing' Shine Daniel Radcliffe Wanted a Break From Broadway.    The bold Chiefs do it again moving up from the 9th pick to number 6 to draft the "smooth" Monsoor Delane out of LSU.  This gifted corner is expected to be a much more impactful corner than Trent McDuffie and will save the team $80 million over the next four years versus their former CB1.  And wait until you hear him.  He's got natural leader written all over him.  Long gone are the days of sitting and just drafting the highest rated player on the board.  These championship caliber Chiefs are relentless in getting the player they need.  And they did it again.    Delane was surprised and thrilled but the second happiest man Thursday was defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo who had a rough off season watching his player let go to make more money elsewhere.    KU is borrowing even more money to run their athletics department and it feels more and more like how DC works.    We have some incredible listener emails to share that could bring a tear to your eye and/or make you laugh.    The SPLC scam is particularly alarming to Ron Freeman, author of the book "Rethinking Race."   He shares his thoughts.    And we have a song for you to finish up that's fitting based on one of the stories we featured about my childhood earlier in the week.

Saving for retirement is one challenge. Feeling comfortable (and confident) enough to actually enjoy it is another. Today, I'm revisiting a conversation with Dr. Daniel Crosby where we talk about money, happiness, and why spending is often harder than saving.  It's especially relevant for me as my family currently navigates some big financial decisions... and a birthday trip for my oldest son that almost didn't happen.

This episode blew my mind and completely changed how I think about tarot! Janis also dispels myths and superstitions, addresses sin, God, and how she uses the Lord's Prayer, and so much more. If you're at all curious about tarot as a tool but intimidated - or if you're experienced at it-  this is a must for you!In this episode, we cover:Why tarot is a language, not a magic trick — and why it's accessible to absolutely everyoneThe Fool and the Magician as two sides of the same coin: potential energy vs. kinetic energy (yes, there's physics involved)How the Major Arcana maps your entire life story — from childhood through midlife and beyondWhy Janis ditched "the Fool's Journey to Enlightenment" and what she teaches insteadThe Death card, the Tower, and "scary" cards — what they actually mean and why they always lead somewhere goodWhy reversals are unnecessary (and can actually get in your way)How to ask intelligent questions of the cards so you get intelligent answersTarot as a spiritual bridge — and the powerful story of Janis doing a reading while her friend went to churchWhat Janis's daily practice looks like (meditation, movement, and more)How tarot can be a gentle but profound tool for midlife reinventionMake sure to tune in because Janis invites us to see our lives as evolving stories, rich with meaning, choice and transformation. Whether you're navigating midlife shifts, seeking clarity or simply curious about your own inner landscape, tarot offers a grounded yet intuitive way to reconnect with yourself and step forward with intention. If this episode sparked something in you, don't leave it there.
