Atlanta doesn't celebrate Pride until early October when the weather is reasonably accommodating. Since there have been a plethora of last-minute Pride-themed tracks that have been released, I decided to green-light a set featuring brand-spanking new tracks. With so much coming out lately, I thought we could get a jump on the annual Summer Edition early on so as not to get too far behind. This set dovetails nicely with Chicago Pride Beats 2017, that was commissioned by one of our followers last year. The only difference being that these tracks are all new or newly updated classics from the past. You'll also notice some housed-up songs that follow in the footsteps of T-Dance. In fact, there are so many of these songs coming out these days I may very well knock one out sometime in July. I'm hedging my bets that many of the gay folk here will be all over it. This set is smoking HOT and I expect you'll be hearing many of these songs throughout the summer at festivals and your local club. I'm guessing my next move will be the annual Pool Party (formerly Beach House) around July 4th or maybe a new Dance-Club set. I can't say for certain until I dive in. I have not been in the best frame of mind lately. As I try to keep my shit straight, I will officially take the rest of the month off. Don't worry, it's only a couple of weeks before we gear things back up again. I haven't let ya'll down yet. One other note: The EU is about to vote on Article 13 which could very well jeopardize the fate of Party Favorz in those countries which constitute for half of our followers. I cannot recommend enough that you follow this site on one of the alternate platforms like Apple Music, Google Play, TuneIn, Stitcher, Podbean (sorry Spotify is still down) or use the RSS feed provided at the end of each episode to use in your favorite podcast application or reader. In fact, Party Favorz is also listed in the new Google Podcast app that is available in Google Play store that lists the biggest podcasts out there. In the meantime, I hope everyone has a very happy and safe Pride. I'll be back before you can snap two fingers. Until then...ENJOY! Another mix from the archives, I present to you part 3 of the season finale from Club Soda 8: Tricoro. This is one of my favorite mixes I've made. "Holding On" by Disclosure f./ Gregory Porter "Soul Makossa" by Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP "Everybody Dance Now (Original Mix)" by Hoxton Whores "What Makes Your Heartbeat Faster (Toy Armada & DJ GRIND Defibrillator Mix)" by Barry Harris "Something Better (Alyson Calagna Remix)" by Audien f./ Lady Antebellum "House On Fire (Ralphi Rosario Club Mix)" by Ryan Cabrera "Body Pop (Ranny and Paulo Agulhari Cha Cha Dub)" by Ranny f./ Jipsta "Shake It Off (Ranny's Sunset Mix)" by Taylor Swift "Worth It (Ranny's Peak Hour Mix)" by Fifth Harmony "Cool For The Summer (Ranny's Big Room Mix)" by Demi Lovato "7/11 (Tracy Young's Smack It In The Air Reconstruction Mix)" by Beyoncé "On My Mind, But It's Okay (Barry Harris ADHD Mix)" by Ellie Goulding and Whitney Houston "Vogue (Barry Harris Rebel Heart Remix)" by Madonna
A fantastic megamix runs at a constant 130 BPM, even though it is slightly slower than my ideal club mixing speed. In an effort to get things back on track and wrap up on Thursday of this next week, I'm sending up v6 of the Pride Edition and what a whopper this one is! I'm talking, about bodies movin', non-stop groovin', asses shakin', floors are breakin', queens are freakin', hoe's are creepin', divas flowin', everybody knows it's time to STAND UP and put your hands to the sky! AHH HELL YEAH! Sorry, I just get a little carried away, but this mix of almost all brand-spanking new circuit beats gave me a hard-on that has lasted for days! There IS some seriously deep, dark. progressive, tribalicious sh!t going on here. Hopefully, I haven't cut the pending Summer Edition tracklist to bring you these fresh new cuts for your Pride consumption. Then again, you know me, K j A M always delivers the goods, so I'm confident I'll be able to work that out when the time comes. Kicking things off is the oft-time flaky hysterics of Sir Ivan. After last fall's Kumbaya, I thought this guy's shtick had pretty much bottomed out and I was pretty hesitant to even listen to his latest Hare Krishna. I'm glad I did because Tony really hit it with his production and delivers the goods like he hasn't done in some time. I guess it just goes to show that money can buy you fame, even if it's for 15 minutes or so. This is followed by some heavy hitters like Tim Letteer's Broke Free and Gustavo Scorpio's private mix of Kelis' Acapella. Keep an eye out for Gustavo, because his mixes that he's been floating around the net, just keep getting better and better. Another one to look out for is the San Francisco hottie, Jamie J. Sanchez. No doubt, he's been working hard to tighten up his productions. After this spring's take on Nasty Boy by Jipsta, along with his own Lift Me Up featuring Ria Spencer and his amazing re-work of Heaven by John LePage and Debby Holiday, Jamie is bound and determined to make an even bigger name for himself. Keep this up and I see superstar DJ in his future. Another song I've been getting sweaty balls over is Zayra's V.I.P. Some of you may remember her turn on on the reality program Rockstar Supernova. Well, she's back and readying an album entitled Baby Likes to Bang for a late August release. This first single is simply delicious as it takes a swipe at the Hilton's and the rest of their Martha's Vineyard ilk. With DJ Paulo doing the remix honors, expect to be hearing this song all over the place this summer; especially with Dave Aude and Mike Rizzo on board for additional remix honors. Max Sanna and Steve Pitron deliver a deeper and more progressive take on Kelly Rowland's Commander, while Ronnie Maze teams up with the in-demand Corey Andrew for the tearjerker Again. I left out the spoken word portion of the song since we don't need any of you balling like a sissy during your workout while thinking about the one that got away. Having previously overlooked the Chus and Ceballos re-work of Not Myself Tonight, I gave it a second chance and for good reason. This IS the best mix of this song to date. No offense to Jody, whose work continues to astound me, but these masters of tribal took the song in a completely different direction that works on so many levels, I had to give them props. Offer Nissim showcases a much-needed change in direction, and it works! Teaming up with Nikka, The One & Only is a terrific slice of what's sure to come from this Israeli mixmaster. Filipe Guerra and Lorena Simpson deliver their latest Breathe Again, with Tommy Love doing the remix honors. I listened over and over to the bevy of remixes that accompanied this #1 Masterbeat tune, and Tommy really delivers the bang for the buck. As much as possible, I've been shying away from typical circuit styled productions that sound like the DJ slapped an acapella over the same tribal beats they used for their last ten mixes. While I won't mention any names, gentlemen it's time to step up your game. You can't keep riding the same beat over and over....
Here at Party Favorz, I don't take a break.okay, once in a while, but when it comes to serving up some of the freshest beats on the circuit, there's no time for disco naps, nor egg hunting. This is the final edition of spring and boy oh boy is it a scorcher! Starting off with Yinon's take on Deborah Cox's "Beautiful U R" which is an amazing prog mix that has a beautiful drop about 2/3 of the way in. Deep, dark and haunting, this is truly an amazing song that is supposed to have a second set of mixes coming out soon. In the meantime, Deborah also collaborated with Axwell, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso and Laidback Luke for the star-studded "Leave the World Behind" which will be featured in my upcoming System Edition; so be on the watch for that. You may be scratching your head and wondering what the hell Acorn, I mean Akon is doing on this mix; especially since he's not a particular favorite of mine. Because Tracy Young worked this song every which way but loose! If you can get past the vocals, Tracy's "Monster Mix" is worth the price of admission. I already mentioned Razor 'n' Guido in my last post, so just know their re-work of the classic "Drop a House" is HOT! The Chriss Ortega mix of "My Life Would Suck Without You" had already appeared on my last BPM Edition, but is the only entry for this song that's worth the play. I really expected more from Tommy Sunshine and Friscia and Lamboy, but they basically turned in a mix that Jason Nevins could have worked out had he been asked to mix the song.eh! Then we've got the return of Depeche Mode and the elusive Peter Rauhofer mix currently only available as a promo. Why they left it off the commercial release is beyond me, because Peter's mix is not only the best but smoldering. I am a little concerned that David's vocals are not up to par, leaving one to wonder. We finally get some new mixes for Rihanna's "Breaking Dishes" and Ralphi, true to form, did not disappoint. I liked the 'Soul Seekerz' mix well enough from the original remix album that was released in conjunction with "Good Girl Gone Bad", but this version brings it to life. I just hope those are Chris' dishes she's breaking; in fact go ahead and bust his balls while you're at it. Probably my biggest disappointment here is the Junior Vasquez take on "Please Don't Leave". An absolutely beautiful song in its own right, I do believe he could have done better. This mix isn't bad but would have been better served with the full vocals. Sadly, P!nk's label didn't commission many mixes for this, though the Digital Dog mix (which appeared on my last BPM Edition) is still the best version and retains all the elements that make this song so moving. One of the weirdest treats in this mix comes from Jipsta's "I Want Your Sex". If you were thinking 'George Michael"', you thought right. I always thought this song was ripe for a remake, but never in a million years did I think a hip-hop/rapper would re-do it. All I can say is HELL YEAH! This song rocks and is accompanied by a ton of excellent mixes. I don't usually use Mike Rizzo except in the BPM mixes, but his slamming take warranted inclusion. The Perry Twins in collaboration with Niki Haris turn in a really fun song and is considerably beefed-up mix by the Escape & Capello team, who are currently riding high with one club hit after another. Another welcome surprise comes from Cevin Fisher. After last year's remake of his classic "You Got Me (Burnin' Up)", Cevin dove right back in his bag of goodies and brought out another classic "The Freaks Come Out". As with the last release, the mixes for this song are all stellar. I went with the Prok & Fitch remix because they are one of the underground darlings in the house scene at the moment and deliver a very memorable grind for this song. This is going to be HUGE! Capping off the mix, Nick Harvey delivers a tribal lover's dream with "Beat on the Drum" and the amazing Allan Natal take on Luis Erre's "...

...and finally we wrap up the summer circuit scene with the v2 mix of the Summer Edition. All I can say is HOT! In fact, just as hot as the guy on the cover...yummy! If you're looking to cool down, this ain't the place. I hope everyone has a great weekend, and I'll do my best to be back next weekend with the long overdue Deep Edition. Enjoy! Album : Summer Edition v2 Genre : Circuit, Tribal, Progressive Year : 2008 Total Time : 1:19:49:00 Track : 1 Title : Ready For This (South Lovers Drumma Re-rub) Artist : Edson Pride Track : 2 Title : Deeper (Original Mix) Artist : Nick Terranova Track : 3 Title : Control Yourself (Michael T Diamond Immediate Release Mix) Artist : Erin Hamilton The 2nd round of mixes came out a couple of weeks ago and contains Manny's vocal version, which still rules. However, everyone has been clamoring about the Michael T. Diamond mix and rightfully so. I can't remember the last time Michael has served us a production. Apparently, he's still in fine form taking 'Control Yourself' in a completely different direction than any of the mixes between the two discs. He manages to strip the big tribal beats out in favor of a more electronic approach which was perfect for transitioning to the electro atmosphere of this mix. Outstanding! Track : 4 Title : Into The Nightlife (Soul Seekerz Vocal Club Mix) Artist : Cyndi Lauper One of my favorite songs from Cyndi's new album. While there's also an outstanding mix by Jody DB, the Soul Seekerz muster up a little more energy than his. Either way, you can't go wrong as both do a great job maintaining the essence of the original. "Shirtless wonders in my sight...under the light"...deliciously ESSENTIAL! Track : 5 Title : Disco Lies (Freemasons Club Mix) Artist : Moby Looks like the Freemasons may be finishing up work on Beyonce's next album. We're finally being treated to some of their work on a handful of mixes this summer. Good thing, because 7th Heaven and Soul Seekerz have been on FIRE and successfully taking up their slack. I'm guessing this may have been done for the UK release of this single, since it wasn't available on the US version. Frankly, this beats them all hands down. Sorry Spencer & Hill. Essential. Track : 6 Title : Middle Of The Dancefloor (Ranny's Miami Dub) Artist : Jipsta New York native Jipsta is at it again with his own brand of "homohop" (the breeding of circuit meets hip hop). While Edson did the honors again, it's Ranny's mix that steals the show moving it in a more electribe groove that better suits the song. For those that haven't heard the full vocal version, you should check it out as he flips the gender table around from traditional hip-hop songs. Fun & FIERCE! Track : 7 Title : Shut Up And Let Me Go (Johnny Vicious Warehouse Dub) Artist : The Ting Tings All it took was an iPod commercial and this little 2 piece indie band out of the UK have exploded into mainstream consciousness. With great stripped down garage pop like "Great DJ", "That's Not My Name" and "Shut Up and Let Me Go" what's not to like? It's all about the guitar, bass and drum with a lot of attitude. Johnny clearly captures that vibe in his Warehouse Dub, shifting the original jangly tune to the electronic dancefloor. Outstanding. Track : 8 Title : Fame (Twisted Dee's NYC High School For The Arts Peak Time Club Mix) Artist : DJ Bill Bennett & Suzanne Palmer We had a sneak peak of the Edson Pride mix back in May on my First Splash Edition, and now the first set of mixes are out with Twisted Dee taking top honors. Combining Suzanne Palmer's incredible vocals with the 1980 classic originally performed by Irene Cara was masterful. Obviously, full credit goes to Bill Bennett. The second single taken from his forthcoming major label album due in September. Bill is currently on his "Big Muscle" world tour, so if you get the chance, check him out live. Watch out for the much anticipated steamy video featuring Bill ...
