La campaña de crowdfunding de Podnights Madrid de este año me ha llevado a una reflexión que llevaba tiempo rondándome la cabeza y que hoy, por fin, he decidido poner en voz alta, quizá más para ordenarme yo mismo que para otra cosa. Estos días de cierre de temporada, de festivos, de balances inevitables y de cierta prisa silenciosa, me he encontrado mirando esta iniciativa que tanto me ha dado durante once años desde un ángulo un poco más íntimo.Llevo semanas preparando este episodio. Literalmente semanas. Cuando diseño la campaña de Podnights Madrid siempre marco en el calendario varios hitos narrativos para comentarlos en el podcast, porque sé que este espacio es (y siempre ha sido) mi altavoz principal para mover el proyecto. Pero también porque, a estas alturas, hablar de estos ciclos de podcast en directo es casi hablar de mí mismo. Sin embargo, llegados al ecuador, esta vez no tenía muy claro qué iba a contar. Esperaba tener buenas noticias, algún patrocinador confirmado, algún podcast más apuntado… ya sabes, esa sensación de movimiento que, aunque no solucione nada, te da cierto respiro. Y no las tenía. Lo que sí tenía era una mezcla rara entre inquietud y serenidad. Como digo en el capítulo, una “intranquila tranquilidad” que no sabría definir mejor. Y es ahí donde la campaña de crowdfunding empezó a convertirse en algo más que una cifra, y más que un objetivo económico. Empezó a convertirse en un espejo. Uno que a veces cuesta mirar. Es verdad que van entrando apoyos. Es verdad que algunos proyectos ya están confirmados. Es verdad que queda tiempo. Pero también es verdad que este año noto algo distinto. No sé si es la fecha, la economía, la atención dispersa en estas semanas previas a Navidad o simplemente que las cosas cambian y, como creador, tengo que aceptarlo. Y aun así, en mitad de todo esto, han pasado dos cosas que me han recolocado. La primera, el comentario de Chus sobre Robe Iniesta como “modernizador del crowdfunding”. Ese relato de cómo grabaron el primer disco de Extremoduro gracias al apoyo económico previo de desconocidos que confiaron antes siquiera de escuchar una nota. No tenía ni idea de esa historia. Y de pronto me vi a mí mismo oyéndola con una sonrisa torpe, pensando: “pues igual llevo años haciendo exactamente eso, pero con podcast”. Y la segunda, mi participación en la iniciativa “Adopta mi Mente” de SinOficina. Algo que nada tiene que ver con el podcasting, pero donde, curiosamente, lo que más valoraba la gente era precisamente lo mismo que intento ofrecer cada vez que lanzo un ciclo de Podnights: tiempo, atención y experiencia. Me sorprendió ver que reservaron mis sesiones en minutos, incluso más rápido de lo que yo imaginaba. Y sí, fue un pequeño chute de energía cuando más falta me hacía. Al final, mi relación con Podnights Madrid siempre ha tenido un componente emocional que va más allá de si se financia o no. Yo pongo horas, pongo material, pongo mis nervios y pongo mi nombre. Pero quienes ponen el dinero (y con ello el verdadero combustible del proyecto) son otras personas. Ese equilibrio siempre me ha parecido profundamente bonito. Porque uno puede organizar, producir, insistir, grabar y convocar, pero si nadie lo respalda, no existe. Y que durante once años sí haya existido… eso ya es un regalo. Aun así, me gusta ser honesto. Hoy no sé qué va a pasar. No sé si llegaremos al mínimo, no sé si habrá ciclo 2026, y no sé si quizá sea el momento de reinventar la fórmula. Pero lo que sí sé es que esta campaña de crowdfunding me ha recordado por qué empecé a hacerlo: para crear un punto de encuentro real, físico, donde podcasters y oyentes se miren a la cara. Un sitio donde alguien pueda decir: “Ojalá hubiera algo así donde yo vivo”, y yo pueda sentir que, de alguna forma, esto merece la pena. Si al final sale adelante, lo celebraremos como siempre. Y si no sale… pues tocará inventar otra excusa para seguir impulsando el podcasting. Pero de momento, mientras quede tiempo, seguiré empujando con toda mi energía, porque creo de verdad que estas cinco noches merecen existir.
