The hardest part? I would've been the last to notice. This is the story of how alcohol almost erased me, from the inside out. I was never going to lose them in a blowout. Just a slow letting go. Fewer calls. Less trust. Sacred moments shared elsewhere. Not because they stopped loving me—but because I stopped showing up. This is what I almost missed—not in chaos, but in the quiet unraveling of everything that mattered. "Let Me Go" – premier extrait de l'album Xandri, pop élégante et affirmée. ???? "Life on Mars" – reprise intime du tube de Bowie, enregistrée en 2023. ???? "Along the Road" – ballade finale, douce et introspective, manifeste de sa quête d'authenticité. Alternative, and progressive metal power-duo (guitarist Kyle Neeley and drummer Paul Christiansen), Pathos & Logos are back with a brand-new single called ‘Let Me Go', due to be released on February 14th, 2025. The single features two alternate versions (Hunter's Moon Version and an Instrumental Version) and is the first taste of the band's new release, ‘Gospel'. ‘Gospel' will be released on June 20th, 2025, and is the much anticipated follow up to the power duo's acclaimed 2022 EP of instrumentals, ‘Cult'. Mixed by Kyle Neeley (The Black Dahlia Murder, In This Moment) and mastered by Ryan Williams (Slayer, Kardishev), ‘Gospel' is a landmark album for the duo. It is the first Pathos & Logos release to feature vocals! Both members taking turns singing darkly introspective lyrics that will satisfy fans of Stephen King as much it will fans of Spiritbox. This is just one aspect of the evolved Pathos & Logos that we discuss in this hour-long interview with guitarist/vocalist Kyle Neeley and drummer/vocalist Paul Christiansen. We also get the details about Gospel, the journey that the duo have been on over the past few years, what this new direction means to them, and so much more. Joachim Garraud on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 8/28/24 After seven years at the Conservatoire de Nantes (Nantes' classical music conservatory), Joachim Garraud, a musician with a passion for technology, developed his musical and artistic skills to become one of France's most influential producers in the early 2000s. He has collaborated with David Bowie, Kylie Minogue, Beyoncé, OMD, Deep Dish, Eurythmics, Paul Johnson, Cassius, Cerrone, Moby and Vitalic. He has been a close collaborator to Bob Sinclar and Jean-Michel Jarre in their musical projects for over 20 years, and has co-composed and co-produced David Guetta's hits such as "Just A Little More Love", "Love Don't Let Me Go", "Love is Gone" and "The World is Mine". Joachim, nominated for a Grammy Award in the "Best Remix" category, was the first French artist to use Pro-Tools, a leading music production software back in 1992. His Paris recording studio became one of the main meeting points of the influential musical movement known as "French Touch", of Daft Punk, Cassius, and Air fame. In addition to his producer's hat, Joachim Garraud has won several awards for his live performances at festivals around the world, including Coachella, Love Parade, Technoparade, Lollapalooza, Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival and Exit Festival. Joachim developed stage concepts ranging from the use of live musical instruments (he was the first DJ to play the Keytar) to the development of techniques linking video and live show (the first DJ to use synchronized video or 3D visual elements) to the development of mixing tools such as the Pioneer DJM-800, which became a standard in the deejaying industry. Today, Joachim Garraud has produced nearly 300 titles and played close to 900 shows on 5 continents. www.joachimgarraud.com About The DJ Sessions - “The DJ Sessions” is a Twitch/Mixcloud "Featured Partner” live streaming/podcast series featuring electronic music DJ's/Producers via live mixes/interviews and streamed/distributed to a global audience. Have you ever been grabbed by a poem so hard it wouldn't let go? I recently found “Closing Time; Iskandariya,” by Brigit Pegeen Kelly and couldn't put it down. Living with it over days revealed layer after layer of wonder and meaning—a thrill for someone trained in close reading of texts. At least one of those layers outlines a pathway for making peace with Earth. Cello music with the poem today is by The Wong Janice. For Dariann Leigh, this is so much more than country music. From her one-stop town in Karlstad, Minnesota (population 713), Dariann captured the star power of the original women of country music. From lyrics bleeding through static-filled radios and scratched CDs. Dariann Leigh doesn't just want to make music, she wants to write the soundtrack for hairbrush singers, dashboard drummers and air guitar players everywhere. Dariann has been featured on The Boot, CMT, and more with her previous single's "Closer", "Let Me Go", "10,000 miles", and most recently with her new single "Leave". As a kid,” Says Leigh, “I remember closing my eyes, plugging my headphones in and listening to tracks that ended up being the theme songs to my daydreams. I want to be that artist for someone else.”
In this one, Jerry and Eddie talk The Eagles, Arnold movies, Cast a He-Man movie as poorly as possible, Gumbel Love with Televangelists, find the darkest hour of Christian Music and so much more... Enjoy!
All the Links: LINKTR.EE/BARBARAFAISON 2024 - Week 27 - Silence and Letting Go This episode is about silence and letting go. This year I have taken a few road trips. I have traveled for anywhere between 3 to 9 hours at a time and allowed myself to be in silence for at least an hour. I worked my way up to this over the years. I would immerse myself in silence. I would allow my thoughts to do what they do, go all over the place. It's a lovely reminder that I can't control everything. Lol. I started off with 10 to 15 minutes of silence and now I can go longer especially if I'm in the car alone. Within the last 30 days I've attended the funerals of my aunt, Rosa, and my cousin, Marlis. I am grateful I was able to ride down to Tampa with my brother, Tony and his wife, Patricia, both times. Sitting in the backseat very comfortably, I might add; I crocheted, read, listened to podcasts and audiobooks on the 6+ hour rides. Of course we stopped along the drive and one of our stops is Buc-ee's, if you aren't familiar, Google it. lol And after stopping in Buc-ee's, silence was just what I needed. Homegoing services or funerals, whatever you call them, are a time for reflection for me. The poem shared at my cousin's funeral on Saturday was called Let Me Go by the poet Christina Georgina Rossetti who lived in the 1800's. Tony and I both remarked after listening to the poem how much we both liked it. After asking the funeral director the name of the poem I was able to find it on Google. Thank you technology. Here it is. Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me I want no rites in a gloom filled room Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not for long And not with your head bowed low Remember the love that once we shared. Miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take And each must go alone. It's all part of the master plan A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart Go to the friends we know. Laugh at all the things we used to do Miss me, but let me go. When I am dead my dearest Sing no sad songs for me Plant thou no roses at my head Nor shady cypress tree Be the green grass above me With showers and dewdrops wet And if thou wilt remember And if thou wilt, forget. I shall not see the shadows, I shall not fear the rain; I shall not hear the nightingale Sing on as if in pain; And dreaming through the twilight That doth not rise nor set, Haply I may remember, And haply may forget. Leaving Florida I stopped crocheting and enjoyed looking at the scenery. The flat terrain and palm trees made me miss the colorful trees and flowers I would see along the Georgia landscape. I could feel my body relaxing as I watched the trees and water along the road. At one time silence for me felt very scary. I would dread not having something to distract me. With practice, I have learned to relish silence. In the silence, I hear the gentle whooshing of the fan as I lie in bed in the mornings before I get up. I hear the birds singing when I sit outside on my back deck. And I remind myself to be open and receptive to receive answers to questions that I may have, in the silence. I have developed an intimate relationship with silence, we are partners now on my life's journey. Take a moment to practice a little bit of silence with me. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/barbara-faison/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/barbara-faison/support
Let's finish the first half of the year by turning up the speed. Let's make it a 78 RPM Sunday. What better voice to do that with than one who sold over 100 million records during a six-decade-long career. Kaylin and Ronnie have been dating for a little under a year after they first met at a trivia night. Kaylin tells us things have been great for the most part, but ever since she and Ronnie dated that Ronnie's friends have always been distant from her. At the same time, Ronnie has started to be more distant as he says he is in a kickball league and still does trivia by himself. Whenever Kaylin tries to hang out with Ronnie, she feels like Ronnie is just trying to check a box and move on so she's worried he might be doing something else besides kickball and trivia. We call Ronnie pretending to send him a free bouquet of flowers and when we ask him who he wants to send them to, Ronnie sends them to someone named Miranda. Find out what's really going on in this week's War Of The Roses!

Singer Dariann Leigh stops by the show to talk about leaving her small town and moving to Nashville to follow her musical dream and more. ******Dariann Leigh is infatuating; all things to all people. She is effervescent yet reserved, accessible and unobtainable, red carpet glam and camo in a tree stand. Combining big-city beauty with small-town humility, Dariann may take on many appearances, but one thing is for sure – she is resilient and wholeheartedly herself, making her a role model for the upcoming generation. From her one-stop town in Karlstad, MN (Population 713), Dariann captured the star power of the original women of country music from lyrics bleeding through static-filled radios and scratched CDs; even in the middle of nowhere, those melodies set the scene for a dream that would ultimately define the course of her entire life. She doesn't just want to make music, she wants to write the soundtrack for hairbrush singers, dashboard drummers, and air guitar players everywhere.“As a kid,” says Leigh, “I remember closing my eyes, plugging my headphones in, and listening to tracks that ended up being the theme songs to my daydreams. I want to be that artist for someone else.”She has opened for:BIG N RICH – JOE NICHOLSCRAIG MORGAN – CHRIS CAGLEMATT STELL – MACKENZIE PORTERLEAVE: (2022 SINGLE) BEST NEW SONGS ON APPLE MUSIC COUNTRY*****If you would like to contact the show about being a guest please email us at Dauna@bettertopodcast.comThis episode is on YouTube: https://youtu.be/FYs370GpIR8Follow us on Social MediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/author_d.m.needom/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bettertopodcastwithdmneedomHave a question or want to be a guest on the podcast email: dauna@bettertopodcast.comHave a question for our producer Rich Zei contact him at rich.zei@thirdearaudio.comIntro and Outro music compliments of Fast SuziTo see upcoming guests click here: https://www.dmneedom.com/better-topodcast©2024 Better To...Podcast with D. We had the pleasure of interviewing Nelson Freitas over Zoom video! After teasing us with two sensational singles, the Cape Verdean icon Nelson Freitas has released his long-awaited seventh album Black Butterfly via AWAL.A revelatory new record featuring a star-studded line-up of producers and songwriters, Black Butterfly is a masterful fusion of the signature sounds Nelson has built a legacy on during his multi-decade long career as a sonic boundary pusher, while also pushing forward with an experimental new sound for the star. While the Dutch artist of Cape Verdean heritage is no stranger to the scene, Nelson's new music reintroduces him with an evolution of his previous output. As a legend in the scene, Nelson has amassed a global fanbase over the years for his unique sound fusing Kizomba and Zouk with R&B and hip-hop – all of which are elements of the ‘mainstream' Afrobeats sound audiences of today have become familiar with, which is something Nelson heavily leans into on Black Butterfly. As the follow-up to Nelson's 2021 album Dpos D' Quarentena – home to his Mr Eazi assisted hit “Tellin' Me Something” – Nelson has assembled an impressive team of some of the most prominent producers in the Afrobeats scene for Black Butterfly. With a clear vision in mind for his record to create a ‘new sound', Nelson worked with in-demand hitmakers like Blaisebeatz (BNXN, Davido, Victony, CKay) and Nigerian super-producer Ozedikus (Rema, Oxlade) to deliver a body of work that sonically shows him in his true form.A record several years in the making, Black Butterfly also hears Nelson team up with the Grammy-nominated Afrobeats pioneer Kel-P on standout track “Satisfy You,” as well as the likes of Daecolm Holland (Adekunle Gold) who appears on “Don't Let Me Go” and co-wrote the title track with Nelson alongside Arrow Benjamin (Beyoncé), J.Sol and Mohombi.Elsewhere, the dark and mysterious “Nightcrawler” takes place as another major highlight from Black Butterfly, with Nelson smoothly gliding over the Masterkraft helmed beat and treating us to his signature vocal tones.Black Butterfly is preceded by the single “Hero” (watch), racking up over 3M views with its stunning music video which stars the Angolan-Portuguese international supermodel Sharam Diniz and emphasizes those moments in life when we must let go of even those we hold the closest. “Hero” has seen major airplay via DJ Edu on BBC Radio 1Xtra and was also selected by UK tastemaker VIPER Magazine as one of their ‘Essential' picks. As the title track and second single of Black Butterfly, “Black Butterfly” was originally conceived by Nelson whilst at a writing camp hosted by the legendary producer Teddy Riley (Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson) in Cabo Verde. Relaying a story of a sweet love affair, the swaying Afro rhythms of “Black Butterfly” are elevated by lush strings arranged by Portuguese musician Tiago Machado and has seen radio airplay across the UK including BBC 1Xtra and Wizard Radio, as well as playlisted by Noctis Magazine for their ‘Best of the Week' selects.Meanwhile, the luxurious “Black Butterfly” music video was directed by André Caniços and pictures a suavely styled Nelson against a backdrop of dancers and futuristic architecture amongst epic Cape Verdean greenery – a stunning juxtaposition between the modern and the classic, surely serving as the perfect representation of Nelson's forward-thinking yet timeless sounds.Speaking about his album, Nelson Freitas said the following: “I've been waiting for this album for ten years and it's a project where I truly found myself. It's something I've been working on for a long time and I believe the time has finally come. I looked for the best Afrobeats producers and composers in the world, and only with them did I feel complete enough to take this leap.”During his award-winning and Platinum-selling career, Nelson's energetic and dynamic stage performances have taken him to all corners of the globe, such as: the United States (including the Dunkin Donuts Center in Boston and AfroNation in Miami), the United Kingdom, Holland, Switzerland, France, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Angola and Portugal, where Nelson has sold out prestigious venues like the Coliseu dos Recreios and Campo Pequeno.Exhibiting a legendary artist at creative highs, the Black Butterfly record will surely see Nelson reach new heights in his already illustrious career and penetrate a wider audience through his fresh new sounds and lyrical perspectives. We want to hear from you!
