Corey Litton handing out post season awards and also with the latest updates from World Of Outlaws and NASCAR MODS-Tommy Bawden won five times more than any other Mod-4 driver I watched all year. As well as the Wissota 100 and the Wissota National Points title. So that overwhelmingly makes him the Checkers and Wreckers Mini Mod Champion. LIMITED LATE MODELS-Ben Wolden might as well have sponsored this segment since I believe I only saw him lose one race he was entered in all year at Buffalo River Speedway. So Wolden will be your Limited Late Model Champion. LIMITED SPRINTS-This was a battle between Ty Hanten and Tye Wilke all year, but by one point it was “Hollywood” Tye Wilke securing his second Checkers and Wreckers Championship of the year. B-MODS-After pretty much winning every night I saw him race, as well as sweeping the 50th Jamestown Stock Car Stampede, the Wissota 100, and winning the Wissota National Title, “The Nightmare” Lucas Rodin is Champion of the B-Mods. SCHATZ WATCH Friday at Port Royal Speedway, Donny Schatz had a great battle mid-race lead battle with the “Mad Man” Kerry Madsen. But as the laps wound down, Lance Dewease closed in on the “Mad Man” and just about stole the win at the line. Finishing just 0.081 behind Madsen. Anthony Macri finished in the third spot, and Schatz finished fourth. Schatz made some “Schatz like” moves through traffic to make his way up to third. But Spencer Bayston dominated for his second World of Outlaws win of the season leading every lap. David Gravel finished second. Point leader, “The Big Cat” Brad Sweet, had an off-night finishing in 12th. Schatz earned the hard charger award for the night by passing 9 cars on the night. Sweet has now only a 92-point lead over David Gravel going on to Kansas City and the Lakeside Speedway on Friday, October 22nd. NASCAR The NASCAR Cup Series took on the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval Sunday where Kyle Larson picked up his seventh win of the season making him the only driver to win three road course races in one year. This despite having troubles early in the race causing his crew to have to change the battery and replace the alternator belt under caution dropping him deep in the field. The race definitely had its share of crazy moments though. On lap 55, Kevin Harvick absolutely dumped Chase Elliott in retaliation for an incident that happened at Bristol September 18th. Elliott's crew got his car back together as possible elimination from the playoffs seemed imminent. Elliot managed to claw his way back to Harvick and was within striking distance when on lap 99 Harvick got into the first corner a little too hot, locked up his breaks, and piled into the wall ending his day and eliminating himself from the playoffs. Elliot managed to finish 12th and when asked about the incident with Harvick he said, “I wish him a merry offseason and a happy Christmas.” Punching their ticket into the round of eight in the NASCAR playoffs from eighth to first are Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Chase Elliot, Kyle Busch, Ryan Blaney, Martin Truex Jr, Denny Hamlin, and Kyle Larson. With only 4 races left in the season, the Cup Series heads out to the Texas Motor Speedway this Sunday. WHAT'S UP Tonight and tomorrow, it's the Inagural Can-Am Clash at the Gondik Law Speedway in Superior, WI. They will have all the Wissota classes (Hornets, Mod Fours, Pure Stocks, Street Stocks, Midwest Mods, Super Stocks, Modifieds and Late Models) competing for their another shot at national points. Follow Checkers and Wreckers with Corey Litton on Facebook as well as @Chexnrex on Twitter and Instagram for FM's number 1 source of racing news. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
