Rachel Ward always sensed she would need to find her purpose outside of acting - for reasons she will explain in this conversation. But she never would have guessed that she’d find that purpose on a working cattle farm in rural Australia… At MID, we like to call this time in our life the “third age” - it’s that post-work era where we’re redefining the shape of our days, our contributions, our passions and our purpose. And Rachel Ward has a LOT to say about this. Rachel Ward is an iconic Australian actress who met Brian Brown on the set of the The Thorn Birds in 1982 and followed him to Australia, where they have lived together ever since, raising a family and working. More recently Rachel has directed films like Beautiful Kate and Palm Beach, and now, a documentary about her rural pivot. As you’ll hear, in her third act Rachel Ward has became a farmer at 60. And not a hobby farmer, but a farmer-farmer - the real deal, inspecting her soil for dung beetles and worms. You can follow Rachel Ward here. And you can find out more about her documentary, Rachel’s Farm, here. THE END BITS: Share your feedback! In this episode of the Great Trials Podcast, host Steve Lowry interviews trial lawyers Brian Brown and E.J. Hammond from Brown and Baron in Baltimore, Maryland. They discuss a complex case involving the tragic death of 83-year-old Helen Hansford at Largo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The episode highlights their strategic legal maneuvers, including the successful exclusion of the defense's medical expert, and the compelling testimony that led to an $8.5 million verdict for Hansford's estate. Remember to rate and review GTP on Apple Podcasts: Click Here to Rate and Review Case Details: In June 2020, when Helen first came to Largo Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Prince George's County, she weighed 112 pounds. She had previously been hospitalized after a bad fall, so she needed around-the-clock care. Upon admission, it was noted that she was at risk for falls, pressure injuries (bed sores), malnutrition, and “failing to thrive” (unsafe weight loss and related complications). By October, Helen's weight was reported to be around 95 pounds. Months later, in January 2021, her weight had plummeted to just 81 pounds, which is about 72% of what it was before. Amid Helen's weight loss crisis, Largo staff failed to put her back on the blood thinner medication that she needed after a surgery related to her fall. In February 2021, a blood clot went to her lungs and brain, causing her to pass away. Read Full Bio Brian Brown Brian S. Co-hosts Adolph Mongo, Vanessa Moss, Allan Lengel and Jim Nardone talk with Brian Brown, the defense attorney for Michael Jackson-Bolanos, who was charged in the murder last year of downtown Detroit synagogue President Samantha Woll.He talks about the trial, the judge, the sentence, the confession by the ex-boyfriend and what he saw as the shortcomings of the police investigation. He also talks about the impact the case has had on his practice. Jackson-Bolanos, 29, was acquitted by the Wayne County Circuit Court jury on charges of first-degree premeditated murder or second-degree murder. The jury deadlocked on the charges of felony murder and first-degree home invasion, and the judge subsequently dropped those charges, saying the factual allegations were similar to the counts Jackson-Balanos was acquitted of. Jackson-Bolanos was convicted of lying to investigators and was sentenced to 18 months to 15 years. He was given credit for 243 days served and is likely to be released by early next year.

In this episode of The Sensible Hippie Podcast, I delve into the dark undercurrents of the music industry with former DJ Mark Devlin. Mark unpacks his investigation into the alleged death and replacement of Paul McCartney, exploring the occult elements and symbolism pervasive in the industry. He also discusses his recent speaking tours in the US and Australia, reflecting on the different audience receptions. Additionally, we tackle the serious allegations against Sean P Diddy Combs, examining his influence and the prevalent culture of exploitation within the music industry. Join us as we uncover the hidden forces shaping entertainment and their broader implications. Takeaways The music industry is run by occultists and dark occultists who use music for mass mind control and to shape societal agendas. The theory of Paul McCartney's death and replacement is explored, with evidence of cryptic symbolism and anomalies in photographs and video footage. Music is an expression of military intelligence and is used for mass mind control purposes. Mark's recent speaking tour in the US and Australia highlighted the interest in understanding the dark undercurrents of the music industry, but audience reception varied. Different cities and states in the US have varying levels of awareness and receptiveness to alternative perspectives on the music industry. Sean P Diddy Combs has faced numerous allegations, including rape, involvement in murders, and other unsavory activities. The book 'Dancing with the Devil' by Mark Curry provides insights into Diddy's actions and the culture of the music industry. I recently traveled to Lancaster, Pennsylvania where I participated in the 2024 Square Halo Conference: Return To Narnia: Creativity, Collaboration and Community. As part of the event, I hosted a live podcast recording on the topic of creativity and community. Joining me for this conversation is graphic designer, children's book illustrator, author, and printmaker, Ned Bustard. Ned is the creative director at Square Halo Books and co-author of my book Naming The Animals. Joining us alongside of Ned, is author and community leader, Brian Brown. Brian is the founder and director of the Anselm Society, a Colorado-based organization dedicated to a renaissance of the Christian imagination. In our conversation, we address the questions, why does community matter to the artist and what are its challenges? How can we foster healthier relationships between artists and communities of faith and how can we move beyond the impact of social disruption into new experiences of communal life. Listen to Brian Brown's talk from the 2024 Square Halo "Return to Narnia" conference. Maybe you've absorbed the fake C.S. Lewis quote that you ARE a soul and you HAVE a body. Or maybe you grew up in an environment that only valued time if it was spent getting people into the elevator going up. If so, you probably struggle to live in the world as you ought, because you have no theological or mental category for most things between idolatry and indifference. So you can't find a place for many of the things you love most in the kingdom of God. We have to fix our relationship with material reality. In the Chronicles, Lewis gives us a fictional world that very clearly has meaning and magic woven into every layer of it. The reason that appeals to us is that it is a reflection of our world as we're supposed to see it, even if we've forgotten. In this talk, Brian offers a threefold way of relating to material reality--and our vocations in it--that explains why you love the things you do, and what to do with them.

Later on in the Rump Roast, the guys play “Brother Up”, where Justin and Luc must identify famous brothers in history and pop culture. And, should you be entering confidential information into generative AI tools? Well, there are layers, folks, but in the current AI environment, lawyers should never assume their data is secure. That being said, Jared doesn't want to throw a wet blanket on the AI revolution, he just wants you to know the three simple things that will enable you to use these tools safely and ethically. Justin Cary is an attorney at Drummond Woodsum. Luc Cary is associate director of machine learning at Invitae. _______________________________________________________ Since we have the Cary brothers with us this week, here's a playlist all about siblings! _______________________________________________________ Our opening track is Two Cigarettes by Major Label Interest. This week we talk about watching your wake. It's important for all Great Loopers to practice safe and courteous boating! The biggest error we see in this area is boats not slowing enough in no wake zones, minimum wake zones, and when passing other boats, docks, marinas, and other shoreside infrastructure. We break it all down for you this week with our guest, Brian Brown. Brian is a Gold Looper who had a career in the marine industry. Join us for this important episode. The Great Loop is the boating adventure of a lifetime. Loopers follow the 6,000-mile route in their own boats, cruising up the east coast, into the Great Lakes, through the inland rivers, and through the Gulf of Mexico. Learn more at www.greatloop.org.

Designed to identify the least expensive solution to a nationwide lead paint and dust problem, the study monitored blood lead levels in children under 4 years of age who were living in homes with unhealthy levels of poisonous lead dust. Ashley was too old to be an official test subject but was still exposed to high levels of lead dust through the study. As a result of her exposure, Ashley suffers from permanent brain damage and struggles with learning disabilities and behavior issues. After a month-long trial, a Baltimore City, Maryland jury returned a verdict of $1,841,000 in damages in this landmark case. Guest Bio: Brian S. Brown Brian S.
