Diego Santilli, jefe de Gabinete designado, respaldó el liderazgo de Javier Milei y afirmó: "Somos personas que queremos que la Argentina salga para adelante. Y yo creo que estoy convencido que Macri es de las personas que quiere que Argentina salga para adelante. Y el liderazgo hoy claramente y contundentemente de Javier Milei, que ganó las elecciones, que la volvió a ganar y que si Dios quiere, y por lo menos es lo que a mí me gustaría, es que vuelva a reelegir para que el cambio en la Argentina continúe y crezca por décadas". Y concluyó: "Es la única manera que tenemos de salir de la situación en la que llegamos en la Argentina, a pobrezas extremas".También explicó los motivos de la salida de Manuel Adorni del Gobierno y sostuvo: "Él le dio tiempo, bueno, tanto el presidente había planteado la declaración jurada, que llegara el momento de la presentación de la declaración jurada y después, que ya anímicamente no daba más en materia del dolor que veía en sus hijos y que quería dar un paso al costado". Y agregó: "Quiero aclarar, va a ir a defenderse en la justicia sin fueros y privilegios. Miro para atrás en la historia y no siempre pasó, y no pasó muy seguido. Entonces, sin fueros y privilegios, sin ningún cargo en el sector público ni ningún lugar, va a ir a defenderse en la justicia y está bien".Santilli sostuvo que los datos económicos positivos quedaron eclipsados por la coyuntura política y afirmó: "El problema que hemos tenido este mes y medio es que la agenda económica viene dando números muy positivos: baja de inflación en abril, baja de inflación en mayo, viene junio, pareciera en la misma tendencia". Y agregó: "El poder adquisitivo hacia arriba, los salarios le empiezan a ganar la inflación, el riesgo país que baja fuertemente, las tasas que bajan, el RIGI que se aprueba e inversiones a la Argentina. Son todas noticias económicas que con todo lo que pasó se empañaron y quedaron tapadas".Se conoció un audio que el ex jefe de Gabinete, Manuel Adorni, le envió a su contratista Matías Tabar, en el que aseguró: "Mati querido, ¿qué hacés? Escuchame, te tengo que hablar hace como diez, quince días. Yo este finde voy a ir a Índio, así que si querés hablamos ahí, que voy a estar más tranquilo, por el tema del 4 de mayo". Y agregó: "Obviamente te voy a dar todo el soporte que necesites, despreocupate, como hice con todos, eso está de más decírtelo, pero contás con todo, todo, todo lo que yo te pueda ayudar. Es una boludez, pero bueno, para que vos te quedés tranquilo y para que todos nos quedemos tranquilos".Javier Milei sostuvo que los mercados ya descuentan su continuidad en el poder y afirmó: "Los mercados miran a futuro. Si estuvieran viendo un riesgo electoral, claramente los mercados lo que están viendo es que vamos a reelegir, conforme vaya evolucionando la economía y tomen conciencia del trabajo que estamos haciendo para proteger la economía". Y remarcó: "Tenemos cerrado todo el financiamiento hasta que termine el gobierno. Hay economistas que siguen mintiendo, que dicen que no lo tenemos. Bueno, ¿qué quiere que le diga?".Milei afirmó que la inflación seguirá bajando pese a las fluctuaciones mensuales: "Tarde o temprano vamos a quebrar la inflación. In 2017, Argentina had the highest corporate income tax rate in Latin America. Reducing it was politically popular and economically desirable. Getting it through a Congress where the governing coalition held just 19% of Senate seats, while the fiscal deficit ran at close to 8% of GDP, was a harder problem. A package of reforms was planned, revenue-neutral and phased over five years: corporate tax on reinvested profits would fall from 35% to 25%; a minimum-wage deduction would reduce the payroll tax burden on firms employing informal workers; energy, alcohol, and sugar taxes would be reorganised on rational, emissions-based principles; and provincial governments would agree to phase out the cascading "ingresos brutos" sales tax in exchange for limits on public spending. In this week's VoxDev Talk, Sebastian Galiani, who served as Deputy Minister of Economy in Argentina and led the design of the reform, tells Tim Phillips how the Macri government attempted to reform its tax structure, and what it teaches us about policy. The 2017 reform included several: the inflation adjustment for the calculation of corporate assets, for example, would apply only if inflation continued to fall.
