It's common knowledge that one of the best ways to convert new prospects into patients is to give them a better understanding of the procedure they are interested in.But patient education can be a problem for aesthetic practitioners. As Engage Technologies Group CEO C. Lloyd Mahaffey puts it, "Humans have the attention span of goldfish." Drawing on experience Lloyd gained from working with K-12 and higher education markets at Apple under Steve Jobs, he recognized a gap between what the medical professional knows about a procedure and what the patient can understand.Videos can help convey important information to patients — as long as you can clear the hurdle of getting them to actually watch the videos. This is where the Engage Media platform thrives: by providing aesthetic practices with a fully integrated delivery system that satisfies patient questions and curiosity with education and certainty. No mere collection of videos, the Engage platform features content crafted by world-class medical professionals that is curated for individual needs, along with an automated follow-up system designed to make it frictionless for patients to continue learning.Yet for all of that, education is only half of the story. Throughout the year, Land-Grant Podcast Network will be bringing you uncut audio primarily from Ohio State press conferences, but also from individual interview sessions. Following a 76-52 win over Merrimack, we spoke to Roddy Gayle, Evan Mahaffey, and head coach Chris Holtmann about what worked and what did not. Gayle was asked about the multiple dunks he threw down, but also made a point to say that Holtmann and Jake Diebler “put him in positions where he was allowed to fail,” which has been crucially important in his development. Mahaffey talked about how Ohio State wanted to attack Merrimack's zone, which included his ability to sit in the middle and open up the floor more for others. Holtmann spoke afterwards, and was exceedingly complimentary of Gayle, Devin Royal, and Felix Okpara, who started the game but only played 12 minutes. Holtmann said Merrimack's big man made it hard on Okpara, and that Zed Key was “just the better option tonight.” Sign up with MyBookie using our link to receive your welcome bonus: https://mybookie.website/Grant23 Connect with Connor: Twitter: @lemons_connor Theme music provided by www.bensound.com Learn more about your ad choices. Meet Tracy Mahaffey, a talented stone carver and memorial artist who creates lasting stories in stone using only her hands and simple tools. Out of her studio comes gravestones, memorials, architectural work, and sculptures. Tracy majored in sculpture in university. At that time, she thought all memorial work was done by computers and sandblasting. When she found people making memorials by hand, she knew she had found her tribe. The low-tech nature of the job appeals to Tracy. All of her work starts with a sketch on paper. Then the sketches become full scale drawings, which are transferred to the stone with carbon paper. All sculpting is done with a mallet and chisel – that's it. Stone carving has changed little since ancient times; tools are now made of stronger materials but the processes are the same. The beauty of a hand carved inscription is the human hand. You want to see the variations. Tracy has created memorial art in a variety of styles ranging from Puritan to art deco to the look of today. Her favorite era is our era. She currently works in marble, limestone, granite, zinc, bronze, and clay. Working with a family to create a memorial for their loved one is a privilege. She loves hearing family stories and condensing them into a story that can be told in stone. The process is truly a collaboration. Tracy is optimistic about the future of memorial arts and is happy to share her knowledge by teaching. She's impressed by the talent and passion of others in her field. Her hope is that people in the future look back and say that the 2000s were a wonderful time period for this art field. The art available in cemeteries around the world rivals that of fine art museums. Tracy recommended the following cemeteries for their beauty and amazing monuments: Bonaventure Cemetery in Savanah, GA: https://www.bonaventurehistorical.org/ Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY: https://www.green-wood.com/ Monumental Cemetery of Staglieno, Italy: https://staglieno.comune.genova.it Mt.
