Saluton, estas mi, Tyson Saner welcoming you to Succotash, The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. The podcast that dares to call itself a soundcast that features clips from other soundcasts...allegedly of the comedic variety...sometimes merely comedy-adjacent. That is to say, if you have a soundcast and it can be considered a comedy related soundcast I may have listened to it, I may have already clipped it...former-host-now-executive producer Marc Hershon may have clipped it...or I have yet to hear it. And when I do hear it, I will probably clip it and feature it here on Succotash, The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast" because that's what this soundcast is all about. You want clips?  We've got clips. This epi features content from: Awards Chatter, Broad Topix, Just Joshin', Entry Level with Brooks Wheelan, About Last Night and Come To Papa.  But wait - there's more! In addition to clips, we've got our Burst O' Durst segment with political wag and social gadfly Will Durst which is opening our show this time around and another reading from our still-pretty-new sponsor TrumPoetry.com... DAS CLIPS Awards Chatter Moderated by The Hollywood Reporter's Scott Feinberg, Awards Chatter features in-depth interviews with the most interesting and accomplished people in show business. His guest back on May 7th of this year, which this epi dropped was Samantha Bee, the host of TBS' Full Frontal. Our clip features her talking about the chronology of former host of Comedy Central's The Daily Show Jon Stewart's departure, and the beginning of her own show. Entry Level with Brooks Wheelan This is a podcast about all those jobs we've had that sucked. Each episode host Brooks Whelan interviews a guest to find out what garbage they had to put up before they got to the position they're in now. John Roy, winner of Star Search in 2003, was Brooks' guest back in April of this year, talking about his run of bad managers. About Last Night We've clipped About Last Night on Succotash before but it's always fun to hear what hosts and comedians Brad Williams and Adam Ray are up to — as it says on the iTunes description: "From sex, to sports, to booze, when a dwarf and a Jew come together the results are unpredictable but always entertaining." Their guest in July was the great Bill Burr, who covered a gamut of topics - being a parent, bullying, high school days, and more. Our clip shaves off a slice of that action for you… Broad TopixHosts Kim Congdon and Alex Scarlato use their soundcast Broad Topix as a platform to cover everything from near-death experiences to naming their vaginas. We clip from an episode released just this month, where the hosts recount their adventure-filled trip to Vegas, baby! Savage Henry Magazine Radio NetworkAfter a mighty long slumber, hosts Chris Durant and Daniel Amaral welcome the rebirth of the Savage Henry Magazine Radio Program, a new special producer and ringleader, Michelle Meyers, as well as a the show debut of guest Just Joshiní. Host of Just Joshiní, Joshua Barnes is joined by studio hosts, Evan Vest and Matt Redbeard. Our clip features conversation about host Josh Barnes's recently discovered appreciation for Fleetwood Mac. Come To PapaA positive podcast from stand-up comedian/actor/writer/bread maker/friend to all Tom Papa. This clip is about a special promotion during a live epi of the show from July featuring guests Judy Gold, Robert Kelly, Colin Quinn, Keith Robinson, Dave Hill, Bonnie McFarlane, Olivia Vessel, and Rick Crom. And just like that...the show is near over. I close another chapter of the audiobook that is Succotash, The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. It's time to sweep up the eyeballs...oh wait I used that one already...didn't I?  Ugh I...I can't remember...a wiki for the show would be so handy as a reference tool ...sadly the rules of Wikipedia wouldn't allow me to do it myself...as far as I know...I don't understand how Wikipedia works really...is there a Vox video?  I'll look it up after I get done here. Thank you so much for joining me whenever you are listening. If you like us here at Succotash and you'd like to help us out, it would be great if you could write a review on iTunes or anywhere they let you write reviews really...online that is...well, you know what?  I'm cool with print media... Also there is "Succomerch" available at our Succotashery (https://www.cafepress.com/succotashshow) and I imagine that's another great way to show us love by showing off your love of us to others...sharing us with others...loving us together...It's a huge and wonderful favor you'd be doing us, being our mascot of sorts...sharing images of yourself on social media with our shirts on...being featured on our Social Media sites...that sort of modern reciprocal love that is just another fantastic way that you could ...if you were to be so inclined to make a fashion statement AND (Please) Pass the Succotash... — Tyson Saner

Yes, it is I...Tyson Saner. Very grateful that you are joining me, brand new host of this program and pale imitation of former host Marc Hershon. It is a great honor to be entrusted with the keys to the Succotash SoundCast Soundkingdom and I look forward to carrying on the tradition that has been listening to and sampling Comedy (and otherwise) Soundcasts for your own personal variety show, between your ears, in the theater of your mind... Today I have for you what can best be described as an average amount of soundcast clips.  Six seems to be the magic number but it's certainly not set in stone as long-time listeners of this program can attest to. Soundcasts to look forward to hearing clips from include Fascination Street, Logical Nonsense, Your Mom's House, The Stanley and Branley Show, The Los Angeles Breakfast Club: On The Air, and the High Content Podcast. We also have a double dose of comedian and raging moderate Will Durst's famed "Burst O' Durst" segments. I am grateful that Mr. Durst has agreed to continue supplying us with his unique take on the politics of our times. You'll be hearing those later in the program. And if you're in or near the San Fransisco Bay Area you will find, on the aformentioned website, dates, locations, and tickets for Durst's latest one-man show: Durst Case Scenario: Mid Term Madness. And, as always, Succotash is sponsored by Henderson's Pants. As the associate producer of this show, when I was finding clips for this program and sending them off to Mr. Hershon I NOW realize that a few of my contributions over the years may have stretched the definition of "Comedy" a bit.  Sometimes my decision to submit a clip was made by it being interesting or different or having a particular quality about them that I felt made them worthy of inclusion on Succotash.  (I always had backup ideas for clips to submit in case my submissions couldn't be used for whatever reason but to Mr. Hershon's great credit, my submissions were rarely, if ever, unused.) Now I am completely aware that something "having a particular quality about them" is nebulous at best and nothing if not 100% a subjective viewpoint. Whether or not something is "interesting" or "different" is also, pretty much 100% subjective.  This, of course applies to comedy. Maybe not 100% with comedy but very probably. Anyway, just something to bear in mind as we explore the highways and byways of Soundcastland together. THE CLIPS Fascination StreetIt debuted on iTunes on July 3rd, 2017 and it is Hosted By Steve Owens of San Antonio, Texas. Last year, in 2017, Mr. Owens had the good fortune to spend a great deal of time with actor and Hollywood Legend, Clint Howard. There is a two-part episode of Fascination Street that is with Mr. Howard. The clip you are about to hear is from an interview that Mr. Owens had with Clint's father, another Hollywood legend, the Late Patriarch of the Howard family of actors and entertainers, Rance Howard.  According to Mr. Owens, this is the last interview Mr. Rance Howard ever gave. Logical NonsenseHere's a soundcast from Ontario, Canada whose 1st episode is listed on iTunes as having been posted in October of 2017.  The description of the show on Soundcloud and iTunes is: "Jab & Breezy take an explicit & comedic look into popular pop culture topics that make no sense to them. Every Tuesday without shame they will share their experiences and opinions while dissecting the nonsense and sharing new mind blowing facts and history that will leave you cry laughing. Follow us to join in our weekly challenges, where J & B compete against each other in a unique contest of wits or might." Your Mom's HouseHosts Tom Segura and Christina Pazsitsky podcast is part of the "All Things Comedy" network which, according to Wikipedia, "is a digital media co-operative and content creation studio and home to a community of professional comedians. It is the brainchild of comedians Al Madrigal and Bill Burr, founded in October 2012." I previously grabbed a clip of their episode "403" back for Succotash Epi 156 "Boozin' With Bill is Back" from July 29th, 2017 Sometimes they have guest for their program - which is often streamed LIVE on YouTube - this Clip is from episode 435 in which they do not have a guest… The Stanley and Branley ShowSometimes a soundcast will have very little biographical information attatched to their pages. The Stanley and Branley Show is one of those soundcasts. The description for the show on both their Soundcloud and iTunes page reads as follows: "Welcome to the worst call-in show you never heard." So far they have 60 episodes with several mini or bonus episodes and they've been posting on iTunes since May of 2016.  This clip is from episode 60, published February 13th 2018, and in it Stanley and Branley listen to dating advice from a YouTube video. If you want to hear more of these mysterious Soundcasters you can go to the aformentioned Soundcloud or iTunes. The Los Angeles Breakfast Club: On The AirIf you pay a visit to the Los Angeles Breakfast Club homesite, you will see the cheerful sentiment "Making Los Angeles a better place since 1925".  In case you have never heard of the Los Angeles Breakfast Club - or the LABC for short - you can also read the description of the club there OR listen to this epi of Succotash, during which I will read it to you. On February 28th, 2017 the Los Angeles Breakfast Club : On The Air soundcast debuted.  As described by host Phil Leirness in this same episode, "for many decades, The Los Angeles Breakfast Club was a fixture on the Radio" and on the soundcast Mr. Leirness called it a "return of sorts to the days of yesteryear..." The show features interviews, newsreel clips, a selection of musical interludes from throughout the near-century the LABC has been operating and various speakers who share their experiences and generally have a good time. Succotash's very own former-host-turned-executive producer, Marc Hershon, began announcing duties for this program in its 6th episode, published July 1st, 2017. High Content Podcast I became aware of this show as I was looking for soundcast-related gigs on Craigslist.  I happened across an ad from someone looking to start a soundcast who was seeking a co-host.  That someone was High Content Podcast's host, Iraj Lopez, who dropped his first episode on Soundcloud back in June of 2017.  Since then he has released episodes consistently, occasionally with co-host Joe Buratti, guests such as Ariel Robinson and comedians local to Humboldt County where this soundcast is based, including Joshua Barnes, Jessica Grant, and Matt Redbeard.  Also featured in the episode with Matt Redbeard was Chris Durant, the co-creator of Savage Henry Magazine - a well-known humor publication in Humboldt County that sponsors many comedy events throughout the year including a comedy festival every Labor Day weekend that had its sixth iteration in September of 2017. The show's topics range from pop culture, politics, science, nature and what is both frightening and exiting about humanity.  When there isn't a co-host or guest the show features host Iraj Lopez brainstorming ways to improve the world and various "what-if" scenarios. Our clip is from Episode 27, entitled "I want to boil a gallon of cum," posted on Feb 18th, 2018. Well, that about does it.  It's been a sort-of-but-not-really maiden voyage.   I'd like to thank Kenny Durgess, Will Durst, Joe Paulino, Scott Carvey, Bill Heywatt, Henderson's Pants and of course our Executive Producer Marc Hershon for their support and contributions to this episode and EVERY episode of Succotash that came before I had even heard of the program back when Mr. Hershon started posting episodes in March of 2011. I hope you will continue this journey of discovery with me and I look forward to continuing to bring you this "Whitman's Sampler" of soundcasts from all around the world where they record in English. For everyone here I bid you farewell and gently remind you to please, Pass the Succotash... — Tyson Saner

Yes, it is I. Marc Hershon, your host and Henry Miller Aeron Desk Chair for Epi133 of Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast. And if you’re having trouble recognizing the voice, that’s because it’s been about THREE damn weeks since I last dropped an installment. Sorry about that. I’ll keep striving to get better about it. I’d be lying if didn’t say a few clicks on the old Donate button up at our homesite, http://SuccotashShow.com, wouldn’t help motivate me. Of if someone besides Henderson’s Pants wanted to help sponsor that show, that would be a bit of all right as well. NEW PODCAST ALERT! I wanted to let listeners who might be in range of Los Angeles, California, on Saturday June 11th, that I will be moderating a very cool event — Dana Carvey’s very first podcast. His OWN podcast, that is, which he’ll be doing with his two sons, Dex, and Tom. You might recall they joined me back in early February for our very first LIVE Succotash show. And they liked the experience so much that the Carveys have decided to bust out their very own show.  I don’t know what it’s to be called yet but I was flattered to be asked to be the moderator for the kickoff show on June 11th. And, who knows, maybe if I behave myself, maybe more after that. It’s going to be at the Comedy Lab next to the Improv in West Hollywood and that’s all I know. Not sure whether you can buy advance tickets or what. Best I can suggest until I know more is to keep checking in at http://hollywood.improv.com and click on the link to the calendar. GOT A SPAREMIN? Another thing I have started trying out is using a new app called  SpareMin. It allows folks to call other folks back when they want to and with a five minute time limit. So I thought I might be a fun alternative to our Succotash Hotline because, rather than leaving a voicemail, you use the app to send me a request and when I have time to chat, I call you back. The app automatically records the call, which I can then play back right here on the show. So check it out. It’s called SpareMin and you can download it from the Apple app store and I think the version for Android phones is live now, too. WHAT ELSE YOU GOT? Okay. Enough about me. Let’s talk about what I’ve got for YOU. This is a Succotash Clips episode and I have to mainly thank our erstwhile Associate Producer, Tyson Saner, for supplying the bulk of the clips we have on tap for you this time around. We also have one that was submitted by a podcaster by using our upload link, at http://hightail.com/u/Succotash. And even I did a little work in the clip department…but not much. All in all, we’re featuring clips from Awesome Etiquette, Chillpak Hollywood Hour, The Late Show – Tonight’s Watch, Obsessed with Joseph Scrimshaw, Savage Henry, the Schmoozecast, Secret Skin, The Slant, and Wisecrackin’ with Winter.  In addition to the clippage we’re featuring a double dose of our celebrated Burst O’ Durst segment with political comedian and social commentator Will Durst. I also have some exciting news about Mr. Durst: He going to be on Succotash! Not just in his usual short, 2-minutes Bursties of Dursties. Oh, no. Our very next installment of Succotash Chats will feature my face-to-face interview with Will that I held a couple of weeks ago in the green room at the storied Punchline Comedy Club in downtown San Francisco. Our own Mr. Saner has also supplied us with one of his amazing pieces of music made up of bits and clips from a podcast, Off Yer Feet featuring Todd Glass along with Nick Thune. And Tyson also supplied us with a brand new instrumental track to play under out Celebration of Thanks coming up near the end of the show. (YOu can check out all of his amazing tunage over at SoundCloud.) This installment of Succotash is brought to you by Henderson's new Beavertail Jeans. CLIPS Chillpak Hollywood HourHard to believe but our friends in podcast — Dean Haglund and Phil Leirness, the hosts of Chillpak Hollywood Hour — just kicked off their 10th year of changing the way you listen to the internet, as well as providing middle to high class entertainment for those with the ears to hear it. I’m happy to announce that sometime during Year 9, our false feud came to an end and so we can, once again, bring you a taste of the Chill… Secret Skin Secret Skin is part of the Infinite Guest network of podcasts, hosted by musician and sometimes comedian Mike Eagle. Mike and his guest usually poke around behind the scenes of the hip-hop world. But recently his guest was comedian Nick Thune, and they got into a lot of topics — why Nick gave up one-liners and his guitar onstage to talk about who Jesus would want to hang out with if he was around today, and embarrassing stories. Nick shares the somewhat disgraceful way he ended his career as a car salesman, and Mike shares a story so embarrassing that, until now, he’s only told four people. And now yo, once you listen. Awesome EtiquetteIt seems like Awesome Etiquette is actually hosted by a couple of folks with some manners in their DNA. Lizzie Post and Daniel Post Senning are with the Emily Post Institute and, for those of you who as so gauche as to not know, Emily Post literately wrote the book on manner and etiquette in 1922. Both hosts don’t have Post in their names by amazing coincidence – it turns out they are the great great grandchildren of the Grand Dame of Manners. The SlantOur next clip comes directly from the podcasters themselves. They uploaded this to us at our direct upload site, at http://hightail.com/u/Succotash and I wish they’d sent a little more background. They have a Libsyn site and a Facebook page and a Twitter account and — don’t get me wrong, The Slant is constantly retweeting our stuff and they are very supportive — but I just don’t know that much about them. I know that the ringleader is someone named Sal. And there’s Lisa, and Ant, and Christine. There may be more, I can’t tell. The Late Show — Tonight’s WatchWhat I love most about podcasting is that pretty much anything goes. And I do mean anything. There's a spin-off podcast from The Late Show with Stephen Cobert called Tonight’s Watch. Hosted by Duncan (and his guest, Maester Text-To-Speech, in this episode), It’s a ostensibly a weekly update about HBO’s Game Of Thrones series but…well, you just have to hear it for yourself. (And it's shouldn't be confused with the actual ToNight's Watch GOT-following podcast…or maybe it should.) Wisecrackin’ With WinterOur Associate Producer has unearthed yet another podcast I’ve never heard of, called Wisecrackin’ With Winter. It features Mike Winter, who, according to the podcast’s About page: …bring decades of entertainment experience, including television, radio, and live performances, in his commentary on topics ranging from: challenges of doing stand-up at Ebola clinics, how to win shot a drinking contest with an Authoritarian Dictator, debating the severity of erectile dysfunction (after athletes abuse steroids for years), to trying to figure out how to re-purpose the thousands of discarded jerseys of disgraced football players. What does that all mean? I’m not sure. The SchmoozecastComedian Barry Weintraub has been working hard to resurrect the Comedy USA name (formerly the title of his national comedy magazine) in several ways. One of those is a comedy podcast called The Schmoozecast. He’s been recording in a sound booth that has been built at Comic Strip Live in New York and recently he had an episode featuring comedian John Mulrooney. John’s a great guy who’s still working today but, when he’s not doing comedy gigs, he works as a patrolman for the Coxsackie Police Department in upstate New York. You can only find episodes of The Schmoozecast at ComedyUSA.com and that’s about it — Barry has yet to master how to get the show up on iTunes. But he will – he’s a very determined fellow. Savage Henry Magazine Radio ProgramThere's a humor magazine in Arcata, which is in Humboldt County, California, called Savage Henry and, once every couple of weeks, the owner/editor Chris Durant puts out a podcast called the Savage Henry Magazine Radio Program. In the show that Tyson snagged this clip from, he’s joined by “special” co-host Matt Redbeard and guest, comedian Dash Kwiatkowski. Obsessed with Joseph ScrimshawGot a note from Sarah Meyer, who does press for the podcast Obsessed with Joseph Scrimshaw. She says “Hi there, Me again! 'Obsessed' put out a special Hamilton episode today — I thought I’d send the press release along since you were so helpful back in March! :) If you wanted to feature a clip on Succotash, or write a review for the Huffington Post, that would be amazing! Thanks so much! Sarah.” Thanks for the note, Sarah! Holy cow what a show! This week filling in for Chris is Matt Redbeard, whose infectious laugh is, well, infectious. Also joining us is special guest Nathan Davis-Floyd, a local comedian who knows his beer. Has Josh met his beer-knowing match? Will he ever figure out how to tie his shoes quicker? Can he think of any other absurd questions to end this description with? All that, and more on this episode of the Savage Henry Magazine Radio Program.

Well....It borders on SHIT show, but we pulled it off. The 50th Episode of the Savage Henry Magazine Radio Program. I can't believe we've been doing this for 50 years! Seems like only a year and a half. The beer flows and we got a whole gaggle of first-time guests: Ba Dum Chh comic John McClurg, Humboldt comic Anders Arson, One of the stars of Random Acts of Comedy James Schaeffer and our good friend Matt Redbeard! The rest of us do our best to hold it together...It's a three deep Beer Time if that gives you a clue. We bring out some old favorites and try some new games and I'm surprised no one was stabbed in the neck. Theme song by DJ Musician. 791 8th St. Suite 5, Arcata, CA 95521 editor@savagehenrymagazine.com Please enjoy.
