What is the value of digital assets in a technological society? Companies like Amazon, Apple and Meta have generated billions in the Web 2.0 platform of digital platforms. Will Web 3.0 give rise to an entirely new generation of incredible wealth? My next guest Keith D Smith CEO of Wavelink, says we must all participate in this next platform of technology to change the human experience. Keith has served as a strategic business consultant for companies focusing on financial technology and distributed systems. Keith is the Founder of Wavelink, a Web 3.0 infrastructure company providing connectivity services between large financial institutions and Web 3.0 applications. Keith is also the Founder of Yield Media Group, where he manages marketing communications for fintech organizations such as NEAR Protocol.Today's databases are vulnerable, fragmented, and expensive to maintain. In a world where everything and everyone is connected to the internet and where user data is maliciously used as a form of political currency, asset tokenization, and decentralized ledger technology (DLT). Blockchain middleware solutions help individuals and businesses to benefit from the unlocked value that interoperability and improved transparency may offer in our increasingly open society in need of a focus on stakeholder capitalism. It is estimated that nearly 50% of the world's 1.7B unbanked population own a smartphone or other smart device. Innovation in open banking and decentralized finance allows anyone with an internet connection to trade new classes of assets and utilize complex financial instruments that are revolutionizing financial markets in real time. Decentralized exchanges, allowing citizens around the world to trade digital assets without any intermediary, and the tokenization (and fractionalization) of traditional assets, such as real estate and other traditional equity investments, truly demonstrate the opportunity for internet users. Keith D Smith has a deep passion for the potential democratization of financial services and the internet by the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), and the tokenization of traditional financial assets drives him daily to learn how to help deliver a world where power rests at the fingertips of the people.Let us welcome Keith D. Smith to the Follow the Brand Podcast, Where we are building a 5 STAR Brand That You Can Follow!
This past week I had the honor of once again of attending the Catskill Mountain Makers Camp in East Durham NY. Blacksmiths, woodworkers, artists and makers convene there for fellowship and general making. Tools, techniques and tricks galore with so many disciplines and things to see it can be over whelming. One of the highlights is that Photographer Mark Adams takes amazing portraits of all the attendees and captures excitement, enthusiasm and probably some other things I'll get into with him when he comes on the podcast soon. Anyway, Mark approached me last year about leading a panel discussion on creativity and I was honored. He picked 4 incredibly diverse and creative people who have figured out a way to find their voices in the disciplines they chose. Leah Aripotch, Andrea De Leon, Joshua Prince and Keith Décent joined me for a conversation on Creativity and what to do with it and how to follow your own path. It was really fun to hear their perspective and hope it resonates with the listener. To give a little back office context, we were in a frozen tent with a space heater it was in the low 40º F and there were lots of trucks, golf carts, clanging, banging and grinding in the background. It was Makers Camp so that what you get, so please pardon the audio. It was great fun and I was honored to be apart of it. Thanks again Mark. In basketball as in life it pays to be both lucky and good. When he was studying for an exercise science degree at ASU, one of Keith D'Amelio's professors assigned him an interview with an expert in human performance. Keith selected a member of the Phoenix Suns performance staff, who agreed to give him an internship the next school year if he could gain some basketball experience in the meantime. So Keith talked his way into working the summer league for the Boston Celtics. When he reconnected with the Suns in the fall, the internship was gone, but his hard work led to Boston offering him a position when he graduated. After five seasons with the Celtics, Keith was offered an assistant athletic trainer position with the Toronto Raptors. When the head S&C coach left, he recommended that Keith take his place and so at age 26, Keith became the youngest head strength coach in the league. Quickly learning the ropes, he helped the Raptors roster be one of the most durable in the NBA and combined a person first-and evidence-based approach that he later applied with Stanford men's basketball. For the past decade, Keith has served as Director of Performance at Nike. In this episode, Keith shares: What it was like in the Raptors locker room after Kobe dropped 81 pointsWhy sports tech will never replace human expertise and connectionHow defining his coaching philosophy helped bring order to the chaos of his NBA rolesWhat role connection and communication play in earning athletes' trust and buy inWhich elements of youth sport he'd like to see change to re-emphasize fun and learning Keep up with Keith on his Instagram feed @keith.damelio

Democratic candidate for Florida's 18th Congressional District. Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Attorney. Patriot. A fearless leader with fresh ideas. BiographyBorn to a U.S. Navy family, Pam Keith had the privilege of growing up in various US diplomatic communities around the world. Through her worldly upbringing, she learned at an early age the value of being an American. After many moves from locations such as Morocco and Syria, Pam finally relocated stateside. From her time living in Lexington, Kentucky in the seventies, Pam experienced first-hand the discrimination leveled towards African-Americans. Pam didn't really know anything about discrimination until the move to Lexington, where her family was the only African-American family in the neighborhood and the only Black kids who were not bussed to school. Those experiences would fuel her passion to fight for equality and justice for years to come. Pam completed undergraduate and graduate study at U.C. Davis, then traveled cross-country to earn her J.D. at Boston College Law School. From law school, Pam was commissioned into the United States Navy as a Judge Advocate. She was stationed both domestically (DC, Virginia) and abroad (Bahrain), where she passionately worked on military justice cases. Following the Navy, Pam practiced law for some of the most prestigious firms across the United States. Today, Pam is fiercely dedicated to bringing change to Capitol Hill and is a Democratic candidate for Florida's 18th congressional district. https://www.facebook.com/PamKeithFL/ https://www.pamkeithfl.com/

REVIEW SONGS FROM THE LAST EPISODE Marc: “Spiderweb” Mikey: “Good Night Kiss” Mikey: Good Night Kiss is a character song that could have multiple perspectives, and I like the ambivalence. It could be from Mal to Saffron, or Mal to Inara, or Inara to Mal. “We’re not who we thought we are. We’re both complicit in this.” FIVE MINUTE SHOW SUMMARY Episode 7: Jaynestown - Written by Ben Edlund Plot synopsis: Marc: The crew sets down at Canton, a town on Higgin’s moon, to discreetly pick up some contraband to finish a deal. They pose as buyers of “mud” (a type of clay) because the magistrate (Higgins) doesn’t take kindly to outsiders who aren’t buying. Mikey: Jayne is nervous because he botched robbery on this planet a few years ago, a robbery of Magistrate Higgins, and wears a ridiculous disguise. When they get into town they realize that Jayne is viewed as a local hero, and even has a statue in his honor and songs in his honor. Marc: They learn that the contact they were to meet had been caught and punished, but that his stash of contraband is still there. Then, Jayne gets recognized, and any chance of lying low disappear. Mal decides to use Jayne’s fame as a distraction so they can get the contraband. Mikey: Inara meets with Magistrate Higgins, who wants her to sleep with his son, Fess, a 26-year-old virgin, in order to “make a man of him.” She assures Fess that virginity is just one state of being and that he should be his own man. Marc: On the ship, an agitated River dismantles Shepard Book's Bible, insisting that it makes no sense and that she has to "fix" it. Book manages to calm her down and explains that the Bible is not about making sense, but about believing in something. Later, she attempts to repair and return it to him, but panics when she sees his wild head of hair that he normally keeps tied back. Mikey: The Magistrate learns that Jayne Cobb is back in town and releases "Stitch" from what appears to have been four years of solitary confinement in a very small cell. It’s revealed that Stich is Jayne’s former partner, whom he betrayed, from the botched robbery years ago. Higgins gives Stitch a loaded shotgun and then tells him that Jayne is back. Marc: After Inara and Fess have shared their intimate moment, she learns from him that Jayne is about to be captured and tried, and that the ship has been "land-locked". He tells her that he would rather Jayne escape. Mikey: The crew finds the contraband, and get it back to the ship behind the distraction of Jayne Day, then Mal & Kaylee go back to get Jayne, who is making a speech in the town square in fro nt of his statue. That speech is interrupted by a gunshot from Stitch. Marc: Stitch tells the mudders that Jayne is no hero, that the robbery was botched and that the only reason Jayne threw the money from their damaged aircraft is that it was still too heavy to fly after Jayne threw Stitch from the aircraft. Stitch fires the shotgun at Jayne, but a mudder jumps in the way of the blast. Mikey: Jayne stabs Stitch with a knife and, after a brief struggle, Stitch dies. Jayne then checks on the mudder who took the shot for him, finding him dead. Jayne knocks the statue of himself over, and they go back to the ship. Marc: With everyone back on Serenity, Wash attempts to take off, but finds the ship "land-locked" per the magistrate's order. It is quickly released, however, as Fess decides to prove himself a man by defying his father's attempt to capture the "Hero of Canton." Marc: I am ever so grateful for the kindness and generosity of Gunn Runners over on Patreon. Mikey: The generosity of my Patreon supporters is amazing, and helps keep the music being made. Thank you to all of you, especially Robin Abess, John R Wollard, Shouts Out Unicorn, Jeremy Jackson and Jennifer Lewis, and James Doster. And also to all my new patrons in the past few months that helped us get to this milestone: Paige, Mitch & Kelly P, Michael M., Matt B., Mark C (aka Sandpunk,) Adam G, Charlie T., Christopher R., Diana D., Eric H., Jerrie A., Jesse R., Jim M., Joshua O., Keith D., and Kevin B. Then we will move on and talk about the views of Jacob Arminius on the doctrine of Total Depravity. There is SO MUCH false information floating around about what Arminius taught on Total Depravity. As usual, we receive help from Keith D. Stanglin, Thomas H. McCall, and Roger E. Olson.
