In this Episode: Netflix announces a live reboot of Star Search New movies starring Denzel Washington, Robert Pattinson, and Jamie Foxx Fan-favorite shows like Bridgerton and The Diplomat are returning AMC will offer 50% off movie tickets every Wednesday this summer Netflix Brings Back Star SearchAt their latest Upfront presentation, Netflix revealed plans to revive the classic talent competition Star Search as a live event. Originally airing from 1983 to 1995 (with a short revival from 2003 to 2004), Star Search helped launch the careers of stars like Britney Spears and Beyoncé. Netflix hasn't released a premiere date or any casting details yet, but the live format hints at a modern, interactive twist. Star-Studded Original Films on the WayNetflix also announced a major new project called Here Comes the Flood, a high-stakes heist thriller starring Denzel Washington and Robert Pattinson. Another film, Fight for '84, tells the powerful true story of the 1980 plane crash that killed members of the U.S. Olympic Boxing Team. Jamie Foxx will portray the coach tasked with rebuilding the team for the 1984 Olympic Games. Hit Series Are ReturningIf you're a fan of Bridgerton, get ready for more drama and romance—Netflix is bringing it back, along with The Diplomat and The Four Seasons. While no official dates were shared, all three are confirmed to return with new episodes. AMC Slashes Ticket Prices for the SummerStarting in July, AMC Theatres is cutting movie ticket prices in half every Wednesday for AMC Stubs members (which is free to join). The deal applies nationwide and even includes premium formats like IMAX and Dolby Cinema (though surcharges may still apply). There’s no set end date, so this could be your new mid-week movie tradition. The move comes as box office numbers surge and theaters aim to keep the momentum going. UNDRESSED WITH POL' AND PATRIK

Everything's bigger in Texas — including the laughs, confessions, and jaw-dropping stories on this outrageous new episode of Undressed with Pol' and Patrik, recorded live from the Warwick in Dallas with reality royalty LeeAnne Locken! Known for her fiery presence on The Real Housewives of Dallas, LeeAnne wastes no time diving into the drama — and neither do your fabulous hosts, Pol' and Patrik. From her obsession with espresso to her absolute ban on Dallas tap water, LeeAnne makes her diva standards hilariously clear — and throws major shade at Patrik's month-old plastic bottle habit. The water wars quickly turn into a full-blown roast as the trio trades stories about recycled germs, nightstand bottles, and who really drinks what at dinner. But the biggest surprise? LeeAnne reveals her gritty childhood spent traveling with the carnival — yes, the kind with rigged games, sketchy carnies, and duck pond booths. By age 11, she was a business-owning “carny queen” making bank off rigged soda bottle tosses and traveling from city to city with her mom. She shares chilling and hilarious tales of life behind the games, including a near-miss with a rattlesnake, and how cussing saved her life (and finally got her dad's attention). The journey continues from carnival chaos to the glitzy pageant world as LeeAnne shares how she became Miss Arizona USA, nearly competed alongside Shanna Moakler, and even caught the judging eye of Pol' back in the day. She opens up about representing Arizona during the Guy Rex era, training at the famed Robert Black Agency, and crossing over into the modeling world. Reality TV fans get an inside peek at LeeAnne's early reality stints, including She's Got the Look on the Style Network, where she was judged by Beverly Johnson and hosted by Kim Alexis. Her time on Star Search with Ed McMahon is equally juicy — and personal for Pol', who designed winning gowns for that very show. And just when you think it couldn't get any juicier, Pol' performs his signature Armenian coffee reading for LeeAnne — and the revelations are deep. From finally feeling peace in her life to someone from her past re-entering her orbit, LeeAnne reflects on letting go, forgiveness, and what it means to find new purpose. She opens up about her close relationship with her late grandmother, the Bible she keeps beside her bed, and her dreams that still connect them. We also get heartfelt moments about DIFFA (Design Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS), where LeeAnne has been a passionate contributor and advocate. She encourages listeners to support this meaningful cause — and we learn Pol' is designing a custom denim jacket for this year's gala! The episode wraps with tequila toasts, spiritual clarity, and of course, nonstop shade and sass — just the way we like it.

Laugh Tracks Legends of Comedy with Randy and Steve

Get you best "woof woof woof" on for today's Legend, standup comic, television host, and television and movie star Arsenio Hall. From humble beginnings Arsenio graduated from Kent State University then headed west to follow his comedy dreams. After some early success, Arsenio vaulted to national prominence when he played Eddie Murphy's friend in the comedy hit Coming to America. Hall played several roles and was so popular that Fox tapped him as a late night host, first as a substitute for Joan Rivers, then with his own show -- one that opened with that "woof woof woof" chant. In later years, Arsenio has hosted a revival of Star Search, and had solid supporting roles in both tv shows and movies. A 2021 sequel to Coming to America restored Arsenio to prominence (and was a very nice surprise during the pandemic). As always find extra clips below and thanks for sharing our shows! Kelly Bishop, legend of stage, screen, chorus lines and iconic television joins us to talk about her magnificent book, The Third Gilmore Girl! Kelly's media path took her from Broadway dancer to a Tony winning performance in A Chorus Line to her partial culpability for putting Baby in a corner in Dirty Dancing to Friday night dinners with Lorelei and Rory as Emily Gilmore. And the journey continues… As Kelly's book and this conversation reveal, she did it all with grace, charm, dedication, diligence and humility.First, we speak with singer/actor Sam Harris, whose rocket ride aboard starship Star Search launched him into millions of living rooms with his celestial rendering of Over the Rainbow. After battling Covid related vocal issues, Sam is readying his  triumphant return in a stage show he calls, Beyond The Rainbow.  Sam and Fritz discuss their shared history at a little Santa Monica nightclub called The Horn where they honed their crafts and were both discovered! Then Kelly Bishop tells us how her work ethic and confidence were shaped by a nurturing mother, who ran interference against her neglectful father, teaching her ballet and carving a path for her to reach for her dreams.Kelly shares how inspired she has been by show runners Amy Sherman and Dan Palladino and how taking on the role of Emily Gilmore allowed her to explore the relationship she witnessed between her mother and her grandmother. She also talks tenderly about her love story with her husband, Journalist Lee Leonard, her surprisingly primal response to the death of her father and her treasured friendships with Amy Sherman-Palladino and Lauren Graham. Kelly also gives us some hints about the newest Palladino project, Etoile, which is coming soon to Prime. Episode Summary:  Menina Fortunato interviews Miller Daurey, discussing his remarkable journey from early dance days to a comeback later in life. Miller began dancing at 14, inspired by supportive family members, and soon achieved success with his sister as a dance duo on Star Search, launching his career. His early professional experience includes working with Paula Abdul, winning a scholarship to the prestigious Joffrey Ballet, and performing in major brand commercials. Despite his achievements, Miller eventually transitioned from dance to acting in search of longer-term career stability and better working conditions, a path that led him to New York and Los Angeles. Returning to dance in his 40s, Miller describes the changes in today's dance environment, from the focus on social media and class filming to the reduced emphasis on warm-ups. He shares the physical challenges of dancing later in life, especially with injuries, but credits dedicated rehabilitation, yoga, and support from fellow dancers for his continued progress. Miller reflects on the importance of community, noting how others' encouragement helped him adapt to new styles and techniques. He offers invaluable advice for young dancers: prioritize self-care, be open to learning, and don't take life too seriously. Miller's journey serves as a reminder to stay true to one's passion, value every experience, and trust that setbacks and successes alike contribute to one's growth. His story exemplifies resilience, encouraging dancers to focus on their “why” and to embrace dance as both a career and a lifelong joy. Toto's Joseph Williams Live on Game Changers with Vicki Abelson Hold the line! What a way to reenter this arena - with arena rockstar Joseph Williams of Toto! I had the best time - can't stop smiling. Joseph could not have been more accessible, personable, humble, willing, thoughtful, informative… entertaining, and warm––like a fuzzy blanket on a cool summer night. Just loved every minute. I watched quite a few interviews with Joseph to get to know him a bit before sitting down with him. All that I saw were centered around the music of Toto and Joseph's solo work––the songs, the musicians, the concerts. Fascinating! I wanted to know about the kid, the son, the man, the artist, the vocalist, the composer, who thrived, who struggled, who acted out, who cleaned up, and that's exactly what generous Joseph gave us, no holds barred, no lines held, as it were. From his earliest days with his dad, John Williams, making genius in the other room, his actress-singer mother, Barbara Ruick, turning life into songs, he and his siblings performing on cue for their parents' esteemed party guests, and forming their first band, together, picking up his first drink, finding mischief, getting busted, breaking bones, boarding school leading to his first gig… jingles, Vegas, Star Search - one story better than the last - to auditioning for Toto - how he got it, what it meant - how he lost it - what he did to ensure that it would never happen again - composing, scoring- working with a guy named Snuffy, guesting with Toto and Bobby Kimball, rejoining the band in 2010, now he and Lukather the two remaining old guard… full circle - still touring - and miraculously still a Novid! I easily could have chatted with Joseph for hours more. Can't wait till September to see Toto at The Hollywood Bowl and to celebrate Joseph's 64th birthday. He's sober, a grandpa, a good son, making great music, and living his dream. He's honored his legacy. Bravo! Standing O! In Lee's own words: I was born and raised in Concord, NC.  Just Northeast of Charlottle, it was a town of 25,000 back then.  As long as I can remember, music was around.  Whether it be the turntables or 8 tracks; where my older brothers played rock and roll of the 60s & 70s, Dad listened to older country artists or Mom's Pontiac Bonneville, which seemed to always have the hits playing through it's car stereo from either 61AM Big Ways, 95FM WROQ or 1100 WBT-AM…Music was always a comforting companion.       Not coming from a particularly musical family other than them playing the radio, the drum bug came from the next door neighbor playing and then taking it from there.  I was playing with records by 8-9 years old; began school band in 7th grade with the natural progression through high school playing in marching, jazz and symphonic bands throughout.       Since music was not viewed in my family as something you pursued as a career, I studied English Literature & Writing at Pfeiffer University until my senior year in 1990-91 when long time friend and a musical mentor, Rick Lee, called and said, "I'm forming a new band and you're the drummer."  This was the beginnings of my music career and the 2019 Carolina Beach Music Hall Of Fame band, Too Much Sylvia.       After leaving TMS in 1994, I played with a few different bands out of Charlotte and all around the East Coast through 1996.  In September 1996, a weeklong trip to Nashville, TN put the hook in and I moved to Music City on January 11, 1997.  Fortunately, I got club and road work pretty quickly while learning constantly along the way.  The idea was to make a living while seeing the world and that plan came to fruition over the years backing artists like Gary Allan, Mark Chesnutt, Heidi Newfield, Kelly Pickler, Loverboy, Kendell Marvel and, now, Hank Williams Jr.  Also, to be able to play and share time with some of the finest musicians & people along the way has just been magic. It's a ride I can't get off of...Nor do I want to.      Along with time on the road with Hank Jr., I offer drum/percussion tracks to any clients out of the "Boom Boom Drum Room", do club/showcase/session work around town and spend time caring for my family.  It's never boring and music is STILL a comforting companion.     Hope to see y'all at a show sometime!!   Some Things That Came Up:    -2:00 Moved to Nashville Jan 11, 1997 along with Jim Riley and Pat McDonald  -3:40 Followed the band Sugar Creek, who played on “Star Search” -4:10 Joining the melodic rock band “Too Much Sylvia” right before Nirvana exploded -6:15 Carolina beach music  -7:00 Checked out Nashville in August of 1996. Mark Miller of Sawyer Brown joined Bobby Bones to talk about his life and career journey! Sawyer Brown is often mistaken for a person, so he set the record straight that it's no one's name and just the name of the band. Mark released his book, 'The Boys and Me: My Life In The Country Supergroup Sawyer Brown.' In it, he shares stories of how the band got turned down by every label in Nashville and then got their start on Star Search. He also shares what some of his first jobs were like when he had to water ski as Pinocchio at Disney World. Mark also recalls the time he first met Larry Bird and they golfed together, and he didn't say a word to him the entire time! “Joey's First Crush” (January 28, 1987) Few other shows changed as much as Gimme a Break, which began as a fish-out-of-water sitcom that had Nell Carter playing mom to three white girls in California but ended up with Nell and her best friend, Telma Hopkins' Addy, co-parenting two white boys in New York. Minus the kids, it's basically a female-female twist on Perfect Strangers, only they don't get steady boyfriends. Perhaps in an effort to make the show seem less gay, they tossed in a happily married character… who was played by newcomer Rosie O'Donnell. This episode, which is the second of Gimme a Break's outings to feature actual gay characters, showcases a lot of how this show ended up pretty damn gay. … Now that I think about it, maybe the only sitcom that changed as much over its run was Ellen — and that's pretty notable, right?
