The Bromance Grows by one as Richard and Shawn travel to A Shared Universe Podcast Studio in Eatontown NJ. The guest of the hour is Comic Book Man’s own Ming Chen. The beautiful studio housed a great conversation between the podcasters. Ming Chen shares his tale of discovering Kevin Smith’s Clerks in college and creating a fan site. This led to a phone call from none other than Kevin Smith recruiting Ming for what would become one of the biggest Podcast Dynasties of all time. Sharing the love for Kevin Smith Richard and Shawn discuss what put them on their Brogrimage to the NJ area. The Bromance spills over in discussions of how each of the hosts have gotten to this point in Eatontown NJ at A Shared Universe Podcast Studio. A Shared Universe Podcast studio is a podcasters dream place to podcast. Full of amazing items collected over the years by Ming Chen and Michael Zapcic. One of which was a autographed Freddy Krueger glove that Shawn was able to wear. If you are in the Eatontown NJ area take the opportunity to record one of your podcasts at A Shared Universe Podcast Studio. Every so often their friendship turns to a bitter rivalry with their nerdiest creation the draft episodes. An original take on a best of or a top 10 list. The draft episodes are done like an NFL Draft 7 rounds where Richard and Shawn flip-flop picks on various topics.

Saluton! Estas mi, your host...Tyson Saner. Welcome to Succotash, the Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. I'm so glad you chose to join me for this clips episode featuring soundcasts that are chock full of current events... Or at least they were current events when they were being commented on by people in the more-or-less recent past. One might recall some of the topics and/or events discussed ahead in the program...others may not. I thank you for listening either way. Apart from clips, we have a single Burst O' Durst from raging moderate Will Durst. AND we've got some premium advertising coming your way. Henderson's Pants will delight us with a particularly classy commercial later in the program. We also unveil a new sponsor: TrumPoetry.com, featuring the daily news…in rhyme! As I mentioned before, I've got clips and helping me introduce them is my co-host for Anti Social Show and the guest for Epi 173 of this very program, Hunter Block! Since you can't hear him here, those clips are from soundcasts SModcast, Let's Get Shitty Show, This Past Weekend, Movie Sign With The Mads, Salty Language, and This Or That. Let's get to the clippage, shall we? CLIPS This Past WeekendHost Theo Von is joined by that "solid 8" Whitney Cummings, where they talk about Roseanne (the TV show and the woman), dating comics and "classing it up". She also plugs her book I'm Fine…And Other Lies which you can get at Amazon - and for your convenience, you can just click on the banner at the top of our http://SuccotashShow.com homesite. Not only will you be able to order her tome but you can contribute to your favoirte soundcast soundcast in the very same click. SModcastKevin Smith and Scott Moser commiserate and celebrate with the cast of Comic Book Men (Walt Flanagan, Bryan Johnson, Michael Zapcic, and Ming Chen) as the seven seasons on AMC TV fades but their new Patreon-based soundcast begins! Salty LanguageOur longtime social media buddies behind the Salty Language soundcast, Bryan Stewart and Tony High, are finally back! Last heard on our show way, way back in Epi82, we clip from their "No Garbage Tiddies" episode from back in June, specifically the "Instagram TV" segment of the show. Movie Signs with The MadsClipped from the very first episode of Movie Sign with The Mads. Hosts Frank Conniff, Trace Beaulieu, and Carolina Hidalgo fight back against the alien invasion of the senses that is Independence Day: Resurgence. (Spoiloer Alert: Our clip contains spoilers for the movie Independence Day: Resurgence!) This Or ThatFrom their iTunes description: "You've played Would You Rather before, but never like this. Welcome to the world of This or That, the podcast where no subject is off limits and no option is left unexplored. You can't help but play along as Chris, Joshua, and Danielle tackle each week's topics with humor, intelligence, and a touch of raunchiness." Our clip is from show 126 from June 25th, 2018 entitled "Knife Thrower's Assistant or Lion Tamer". Let's Get Shitty ShowSelf-proclaimed "uninformed hosts" Eddie and Alyssa Jefferson guide listeners through discussions about new, culture, comedy, the arts, buttholes, and genitalia. Our clips comes from a recent episode entitled, "Butterdick". And that's just the title, so hang on. BIG WRAP-UP Well, that's about the size of it. This episode is posting at a pivotal point in my personal life so it has a greater potential for me to remember it if I ever were to have one of those "I wonder what I was doing when..." moments in my future. I likely will have one of those moments because I'm extremely self-absorbed. "That's not likely to change unless I really want it" is a thing that I would say if I were a licensed therapist... but I'm not. Anyway, I hope your listening experience was pleasurable. I like to think that if you were to enjoy it enough you might take a moment to subscribe to us on iTunes or perhaps give us a five-star rating and a review. That sort of thing lets the powers that be know that you would like the program to stay around... and if enough people do that sort of thing... I might find out about it... That would be most triumphant as the kids used to say when I was one of those... although I was never Bill OR Ted... Back to the subscribing, the rating, the sharing us with others... that's how you show us love and when you do that, I say "I love you, too" and, also, thank you for doing that thing I gently urge you to do at the close of every episode and that is to Please, Pass The Succotash... — Tyson Saner

I had a great time nerding out with the Mighty Ming Chen! Ming Chen’s road to the Stash all began in 1995 when the college student, video store employee and avid Kevin Smith follower, developed a fan website based on the movie Clerks. Smith, who appreciated Chen’s work, reached out and asked him to create a website for his production company, View Askew Productions. Almost nineteen years later, not only does Chen continue to work on all of Smith’s online projects, but has also ventured into several other areas within the Kevin Smith empire, most recently hosting a weekly podcast called “I Sell Comics” with Michael Zapcic on Smith’s radio network S.I.R.: SModcast Internet Radio. Chen is not only the technical expert for The Stash, but also the perfect person to ask to do the jobs no one else wants to do. He takes it all with a smile, and is happy to be a part of the team. During his free time, Chen does pro bono website work for two non-profit organizations: Street Poets Inc. and The Kenny Gordon Foundation. Chen has been married to his wife Debbie for 12 years and has two children, Lillian and Harrison. https://www.twitch.tv/coralsword http://www.viewaskew.com/ming/ https://www.twitter.com/mingchen37 https://www.instagram.com/mingchen37/ https://www.facebook.com/mingchencbm/ https://www.youtube.com/user/mingchen https://jayandsilentbob.com/ https://www.birdscoffeecompany.com/coffees/legends-of-tabletop-legendary-brew Use Code Legends10 to get 10% off your order Theme music created by Brett Miller http://www.brettmillermusic.net/

We celebrate 200 episodes by crosspodding with The Ninja Starship LIVE from the Podcast Detroit booth at Motor City Comic Con featuring guests Tony and Derek of Drunk On Comics and Ming Chen and Michael Zapcic of the Mike and Ming Show. Good times were had by all. Make Pod.
Sweet mother of God, what a ridiculously packed night we had for episode 143 of our weekly live podcast...probably one of our last ones from the current Podcast Detroit studio as we get ready to expand. And we had to "expand" a bit last night by running over due to all of the guests and great conversations we had. From Lea Thompson (Back to the Future, Howard the Duck, Some Kind of Wonderful and more) to John E L Tenney (UFOs, paranormal), Jason David Frank (Power Rangers, MMA), Ming Chen (Comic Book Men), Jordan Trovillion (Comics Continuum), and our in-studio guests, two DPS teachers who are dealing with the chaos going on every day, and had rather unique stories to tell that the media isn't necessarily telling you about... We started off the night just like we did last week, with a call in guest from the upcoming Motor City Comic Con. Lea Thompson called in to talk Back to the Future, Some Kind of Wonderful, Howard the Duck, and all of her other projects...including things she's currently working on and some pretty cool items she's going to have with her at the show this weekend. John E. L Tenney talked about his series about ghosts and the paranormal currently airing, as well as the "Michigan Dog Man" and Nain Rouge. Jason David Frank, who we met a couple of years ago an MCCC, chatted about the upcoming Power Rangers movie, the fan made film, still wanting to get in an MMA ring with CM Punk, and being "spandex ready". We've had a blast getting to know Ming Chen over the past six months, with his "Ming and Mike Show" airing on our Podcast Detroit network, and we're really looking forward to seeing both him and Michael Zapcic this weekend. You'll be able to hear more from Ming this coming Monday night, as he's staying in town for a couple of days after MCCC to come hit the studio with us for our show. We've run into Jordan Trovillion at nearly every con we've been to recently, even had adjoining tables, and for some reason we still haven't managed to have her on the show. Well, that changed last night, and we had a great chat with her about Comics Continuum, and all of her other projects in the works that she'll be ready and waiting to talk with you about this weekend. In between all of that, we actually had some serious conversations to get to with our guests Carole and John, both teachers with DPS, who clued us into a whole lot of material that we haven't really been hearing from the local news. Like what's really at stake from the teachers' point of view, how this is actually impacting the kids, the games being played on a ridiculous scale and how those same kids are caught in the middle of a whole bunch of bureaucratic nonsense and political infighting. Definitely give that a listen. Episode 117 is an interesting little mix of our in-studio guests from this week as well as some of our live recordings from this past weekend's Fantasticon event. We were joined in studio by Savvy Digital Solutions to talk about the upcoming event this weekend that they're behind and is an 80s party to raise money for the Angels of Hope foundation. Staymobile joined us to talk about their device repair offerings. And then we spliced in our chat with Ming Chen and Michael Zapcic from AMC's Comic Book Men... Our first segment recapped this weekend's Fantasticon adventures, including drinking with Ghostbusters, Bob's lifetime karaoke achievement award, and all sorts of other mayhem that went down. And, of course, some news, events and items that have caught our eyes over the past week. Our second segment, at least in this podcast version, is our live chat from Fantasticon with Ming Chen and Michael Zapcic from AMC's Comic Book Men. Couple of really great guys who are living the dream of getting to do something they really, truly enjoy as a job. Ming's from Michigan, so you may have seen him floating around Ann Arbor these last few days as well, and they both put a serious hurting on some coneys while in town... The next segment dives in with Staymobile, a company that solves the eternal problem we suffer from of "it broke, now what?" Rather than dealing with six week turnaround times via mail, or sketchy shops that may or may not even know what they're doing, these folks have put together a series of locations with a lot of solutions to your technical woes in-stock and ready to go, with most fixes done in an hour, and a max turnaround time of two to three days. Needless to say, we programmed them into our phones. Savvy Digital Solutions stepped up next, chatting about A Night to Fight Cancer, an event that you'll be able to find Bob, me, and a number of our friends at on Saturday night. Sure, it's going to be a great party with an awesome band playing a lot of our favorite 80s tunes, but it's all for a great cause and that's the primary reason to go. Tickets are only $25, and it's being held at a superb location, so we expect to see some familiar faces having a blast along with us there. After that, a few more topics and items that bubbled up to our attention, and then it was time to wrap up for the night. As always, thanks for listening, and we'll see you again next week.
