It's time for 2025's festive fun! Practicing medicine can be a very visceral experience - and the English language can't always adequately capture the sights, sounds, smells. So Matt Morgan, intensivist and BMJ columnist, is creating medical neologisms, and joins us to share a few. Madhvi Joshi, a GP in London, has written about longevity science, and we hear how the “biohacking” of internet influencers like Bryan Johnson is making its way into the consultation. Navjoyt Ladher and Tim Feeny take us though this year's festive research, and are joined by Anupam Bapu Jena from Harvard, who has been looking at self censorship in the time of Trump, and Melanie de Lange, from the university of Bristol, who has been investigating the impact of daylight savings time. Bryan Johnson sagt in diesem Video, dass er „die Basics“ erklärt.Und jedes Mal, wenn er das sagt, weiß ich: Für normale Menschen kann das ganz schnell extrem werden.
V této epizodě jdeme pod povrch úspěchu, výkonu a podnikání. Lubo Šmíd otevřeně popisuje cestu od budování mezinárodní firmy přes extrémní pracovní tempo až k momentu, kdy tělo řeklo dost - a přinutilo ho přehodnotit celý životní styl. This episode covers: • FDA Loosens Supplement Warning Labels The FDA is considering a rule change that would allow supplement companies to include the DSHEA disclaimer only once per package rather than next to every claim. Dave explains why fewer visible warnings could make marketing look more like medical claims, and why biohackers should treat labels as advertising rather than evidence. He shares how to protect yourself now: add one variable at a time, run baseline labs, and rely on data instead of packaging. Source: https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/fda-supplements-warning-label-rule-change-rfk-jr-rcna249321 • Quantum Sensors for Early Heart Attack Detection Mayo Clinic is testing a contactless heart-monitoring system called CardiAQ using quantum magnetic sensors and AI noise filtering. The device reads subtle electromagnetic signatures from the heart and compares them to invasive angiography. Dave breaks down why earlier detection of ischemia could shift heart care from reactive treatment to proactive screening — and why building baseline metrics like VO₂max, blood pressure and HRV today will pay off when next-gen diagnostics arrive. Source: https://www.sandboxaq.com/press/sandboxaq-collaborates-with-mayo-clinic-on-novel-cardiac-diagnostics • Sauna Detox for MicroplasticsEmerging research shows that sweating meaningfully removes plastic-related chemicals like BPA and phthalate metabolites from the body, often more efficiently than blood or urine alone. Sauna use amplifies this effect by increasing circulation, mobilizing stored toxins from tissues, and accelerating sweat-based excretion. When you combine regular heat exposure with reduced environmental plastic contact, you create a powerful detox strategy that targets a chemical burden once thought unavoidable. Dave breaks down how sauna protocols can support toxin elimination, improve cardiovascular resilience, strengthen autonomic balance, and help counteract the metabolic and hormonal disruptions linked to microplastics in modern life.Source: https://superage.com/can-you-sweat-out-microplastics-in-the-sauna/ • Psychedelics and Longevity Biomarkers Bryan Johnson treated a guided psilocybin experience as a structured longevity experiment, collecting nearly 250 biomarkers including CGM, stress markers, HRV and Kernel brain imaging. The experiment revealed a surprising metabolic change: mean glucose dropped 8 percent, variability fell 11 percent, and estimated HbA1c moved from 4.7 to 4.4 — similar to months of metformin but after a single session. Dave explores the emerging idea that neuroplastic events might influence glucose regulation through brain-pancreas signaling, while emphasizing the need for supervised, legal use and proper clinical trials. Source: https://www.businessinsider.com/bryan-johnson-trip-on-mushrooms-five-hours-live-2025-12 • A Mitochondrial Protein that Extends Mouse Lifespan Researchers boosted the mitochondrial protein COX7RP and extended mouse lifespan by ~6.6 percent while improving insulin sensitivity, lipid handling, endurance and liver fat metabolism. COX7RP supports formation of mitochondrial “supercomplexes,” improving respiratory efficiency and ATP generation. Dave explains how this reinforces lifestyle levers — strength training, aerobic capacity, stabilizing blood sugar — as tools that likely preserve supercomplex architecture and mitochondrial resilience. This episode is designed for biohackers, longevity seekers and high-performance listeners who want practical strategies rooted in cutting-edge science. Dave Asprey translates emerging research into actionable upgrades for your biology — from metabolism and mitochondria to nervous system health, detox, and prevention. Episode 337 As we reach the end of the year, catch up on some of New Scientist's most exciting and thought-provoking features of the past twelve months. For decades we've got autism in girls all wrong. Symptoms present quite differently in girls to boys, meaning they often go undiagnosed. So why have we failed to see the differences - and why are girls so often neglected by autism research? We review a feature written by Gina Rippon - one of the scientists studying autism who admits to getting it wrong for years. If you're interested in living a longer life, you may have heard the name Bryan Johnson. He's the tech millionaire who's doing everything in his power to live as long as possible. From a 6.5 hour morning routine, to experimental gene treatments and hypoxia therapy - we dig into the life of the man whose slogan is “Don't Die”. There is no space, no time, no particles. This is the radical new quantum vision of reality proposed by physicist Vlatko Vedral. He argues that our current lens for looking at reality is full of problems, especially concerning observers - this idea that reality is somehow contingent on us looking at it. So what really lies beyond quantum theory? Over tens of thousands of years, waves of Homo sapiens set out across Europe and Asia, only for their societies and cultures to mysteriously vanish. At last, ancient DNA from fossils is revealing why. We shed light on the lives of the LRJ people, a group of a few hundred ancient humans who roamed across Europe 43,000 years ago. There are new hints that the fabric of space-time may be made of "memory cells" that record the whole history of the universe. If true, it could explain the nature of dark matter and much more. But how could pure emptiness ever remember, or store information? We discuss how Florian Neukart, the feature writer, has tested this theory inside a quantum computer. Most of us see body fat as something we need to attack or get rid of. But we're beginning to figure out just how important fat is for shaping our health and mind. The fat in our bodies is a communicative organ with a role in everything from bone health to mood. And it isn't just one thing - it comes in various forms and colours, each with distinct functions and found in different locations. So do we need to respect fat a bit more? A whole library's worth of papyri owned by Julius Caesar's father-in-law were turned to charcoal by the eruption of Vesuvius. But nearly 2000 years later, we can at last read these lost treasures. Discover how a particle accelerator is being used to decode messages once thought completely lost. Our emotions can often get the better of us, taking control over our feelings and actions. But what if there were a way to harness your emotions for a happier, calmer life? Researcher Ethan Kross has found ways to do just that. Based on his own experience of his Grandmother's resilience, who endured the trauma of Nazi occupation, he's developed an actionable guide for anyone to master how they feel. On this BONUS EPISODE of CASCADE OF HISTORY, Feliks Banel presents his archival interview from 2009 with the late Bryan Johnson, longtime KOMO Radio and TV journalist in Seattle whose passing at age 89 was announced on December 8, 2025. Just a few weeks ago, we featured a 2013 interview with Bryan Johnson about when he was on the radio in Seattle in 1963 breaking the news about the Kennedy assassination. With word of Mr. Johnson's passing, we went back into the archives for this conversation from October 9, 2009. The occasion was his unbelievable 50th anniversary at KOMO Radio and TV in Seattle, which would be officially marked the next day, October 10, 2009. This interview has been lightly edited. It was conducted for a story I wrote for the old CROSSCUT website, and we cover a lot of ground about Mr. Johnson's career and the people with whom he crossed paths. The audio quality is not great; I have, thankfully, since upgraded the gear I use for recording phone interviews. It was an honor and a privilege to interview Bryan Johnson on the eve of his 50th anniversary at KOMO. We had a lot of laughs, too. RIP. Lara and Carey are back in the vortex of Utah to hitch a ride on the covered wagons of our Saltiest of Queens. But first, they discuss Bryan Johnson's cringey declaration of love towards his longtime girlfriend/immortality assistant, shattering Lara's plan to woo him.On RHOSLC, Bronwyn continues her impeccable revenge campaign against Mr. Farts (Todd) and Muzzy by fetching Todd at the airport in a sloth costume and forcing Muzzy to mail Pride flags to protest anti-LGBTQ laws in Utah, much to Muzzy's Mormon chagrin. Whitney laments her money woes to Justin and — though futile — attempts to extract herself from Entity; Heather prepares her younger daughter for college and readies herself for an empty nest Cumspringa. In the spirit of her impending American citizenship, Bronwyn assembles the ladies for a “Spill the Tea Party” where they reenact the Boston Tea Party and confess to the gossip they've spread about each other. Meredith's plane meltdown comes into question again, as Whitney accuses her of being a pill-popping booze head, leading Meredith to whip out drug tests to clear her name. Bryan Johnson lays out “Don't Die,” a moral framework that puts existence first and turns longevity into a shared fight against entropy. We pressure-test the hard stuff: selfishness, inequality, stagnation, and the so-called two-species future. Bryan argues these are solvable with smart societal engineering if “don't die” is for everyone. He breaks down Blueprint as a practical on-ramp with evidence-based health, behavior, and social habits. We finish on crypto, from his Braintree days with Coinbase to how web3 could power a broad “don't die” commons. ------
The world's most measured man just did the most unmeasurable thing. Yes, 5 grams of psilocybin. You've probably seen something of this on social media. Do you have these signs of longevity in your birth chart? Get your free chart at https://www.QuietmindAstrology.com/freebirthchartLongevity, lifespan, vitality and fate meet right at the crossroads of the eighth house in Vedic astrology — and today I explore what we can and cannot see through the chart. This question comes up a lot: can astrology show how long someone will live? In this episode, I share how Jyotish approaches longevity with humility and wisdom, and why the goal is never prediction out of fear but understanding the deeper forces that shape the way we move through life.Over last weekend Brian Johnson, the founder of Blueprint, streamed an entire mushroom journey “for longevity.” He's trying to reverse aging through data, discipline and extreme experimentation. And while his mission can look a little intense from the outside, there are clear signatures in his Vedic chart — especially his Scorpio Moon and likely Jyeshta nakshatra — that reveal exactly why he's drawn to this kind of work.I walk you through what we know from his birth date (August 22, 1977), even without a birth time, and how his eighth house placements point to transformation, protection, curiosity about death and rebirth, and the desire to push the limits of human potential. This episode is less about Brian himself and more about how you can use these same principles to understand your own relationship with vitality, energy, and the cycles of life.Key ideas from this episode:• “In Vedic astrology, we never use longevity to predict fear. We use it to understand how your life force wants to express itself.”• “The eighth house isn't just death — it's transformation, depth, research and the mysteries that pull us inward.”• “A Scorpio Moon needs intensity and purpose. The mind wants a job, and Brian gives his mind a big one.”• “Jyeshta literally translates to ‘the eldest.' His entire brand is built around trying to become the oldest.”• “You don't need extreme protocols to support longevity. You just need alignment, breath, and awareness of your own nature.”If you want to explore these patterns in your own life, you can get your free Vedic birth chart and training below. Longevity is having a moment, from Bryan Johnson to glossy Netflix docs like Don't Die, there's a lot of glitz and glam in and around the longevity space. But that also means there's a lot of bs and bluster. Upgrade your biology in 10 minutes with this week's rundown from Dave Asprey. This episode breaks down the six biggest stories in biohacking and health tech, from sleep hormones to mitochondrial rejuvenation, giving you the data you need to live longer, think faster, and perform at your peak. This episode covers: • The Melatonin Heart Warning Everyone Missed A major new study from the American Heart Association reveals that long-term melatonin users face nearly twice the risk of heart failure and 3.5 times higher hospitalization rates. Once considered a harmless sleep aid, melatonin's hormonal effects may disrupt cardiovascular recovery, testosterone, and blood pressure regulation when used nightly. The takeaway: melatonin is a short-term circadian reset tool, not a forever supplement. Source: American Heart Association — newsroom.heart.org/news/long-term-use-of-melatonin-supplements-to-support-sleep-may-have-negative-health-effects • Bryan Johnson's Extreme Microplastics Detox Biohacker Bryan Johnson shared lab-verified results showing an 85% reduction in microplastics in his semen after one year of daily 200°F dry saunas followed by ice packs on the groin. It's not peer reviewed yet, but it'ssparking global discussion about environmental toxins, fertility, and detoxification. Whether or not you follow his protocol, this study highlights how widespread microplastics have become and how heat, sweat, and smarter exposure control may help fight back. Source: New York Post — nypost.com/2025/10/23/health/biohacker-bryan-johnson-got-rid-of-85-of-microplastics-from-his-semen • Urolithin A: The Mitochondrial Molecule That Strengthens Immunity A peer-reviewed human trial published in Nature Aging found that four weeks of daily Urolithin A (Mitopure®) supplementation improved immune function in adults aged 45–70, increasing youthful CD8 T-cells, natural killer cells, and mitochondrial performance inside immune cells. By triggering mitophagy, your body's cleanup process for old mitochondria, Urolithin A enhances energy, resilience, and immune strength. It's the clearest evidence yet that we can modulate immune aging through mitochondrial renewal. Head to timeline.com/dave to get 10% off your first order. Source: BioSpace — biospace.com/press-releases/timeline-continues-to-build-the-most-clinically-researched-longevity-products-targeting-immune-brain-and-muscle-aging • Google's New AI Model That “Talks” to Cells Google DeepMind and Yale launched Cell2Sentence-Scale, an open-source AI model that lets scientists query cellular pathways in natural language. The system can predict how cells transition from healthy to cancerous states and identify molecular switches that might reverse those changes. It's compressing years of biology into days and democratizing research for small labs and independent scientists alike. Isn't AI a beautiful thing? Source: Google DeepMind — blog.google/technology/ai/google-gemma-ai-cancer-therapy-discovery • Omega-3s Calm the Brain and the Temper A massive new meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials shows omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) reduce aggression by up to 28%. That includes both reactive anger and planned aggression. By lowering neuroinflammation and stabilizing cell membranes, omega-3s appear to balance dopamine and serotonin, proving that healthy fats aren't just heart food, they're emotional regulators too. Source: Science Alert — sciencealert.com/one-dietary-supplement-was-shown-to-reduce-aggression-by-up-to-28 • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Finally Gets a Biomarker For the first time, researchers have developed a blood test that accurately identifies chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) using DNA methylation and micro-RNA expression patterns. This breakthrough distinguishes CFS from other autoimmune and viral conditions, marking a turning point for millions of patients long dismissed by traditional medicine. It's proof that data-driven diagnostics can transform how we understand mystery illnesses. Reuben Carranza knows a good brand when he sees it. Bansk Beauty, where he serves as executive chairman, made headlines in September after acquiring the buzzy, clinical skin-care brand Byoma. It's part of the late-stage private investment firm's growing beauty roster, which includes Amika, Eva NYC and Ethique. “No. 1, they're on a tear, right? They're growing rapidly. But I think what we loved about them was the story,” he told Glossy on stage at this week's annual Glossy Beauty and Wellness Summit about its Byoma acquisition. “It's the story: they've de-complicated complicated skin-care routines.” Carranza kicked off the Summit with a special live podcast recording, where he shared insights into the firm's investment philosophy and growth plans for its brands. He also shared career advice from his stacked CV, which includes more than two decades at P&G and leadership roles at R+Co Hair, Kate Somerville skin care, and more. This special session is ahead, but first, hosts Lexy Lebsack and Emily Jensen share highlights from the Summit and dig into the news of the week. First up, the hosts break down the latest from Tylenol- and Neutrogena-owner Kenvue. Kimberly-Clark Corp. will acquire Kenvue Inc. in a deal valued at $48.7 billion. Kimberly-Clark's portfolio includes consumer brands like Huggies, Kleenex and Cottonelle. Next up, a look at Skims's buzzy new hire. Diarrha N'Diaye was named evp, beauty and fragrance of Kim Kardashian's upcoming Skims Beauty. N'Diaye has worked in marketing and branding for the likes of Glossier and L'Oréal, and was most recently the founder of Ami Colé, which shuttered in July. She will lead product development, innovation and brand strategy for Skims's upcoming beauty launch. Finally, an analysis of a hefty investment in Blueprint, the supplement company from American entrepreneur and biohacker Bryan Johnson. The company has taken on $60 million in funding from investors like Kim Kardashian, Ari Emanuel, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, and many more big names. Johnson is best known for documenting his quest to age in reverse on YouTube and through the Netflix film “Don't Die.” Blueprint currently offers a variety of products DTC, including drink mixes, supplements and skin care.

EPISODE 147 | Man Out of Time: The Comte St. Germain He composed and played music, spoke several languages, was versed in alchemy and the early sciences, and hung around with the likes of Mozart and Casanova, yet no one even knew his real name. Voltaire called him the “Wonderman”, though that may have been sarcasm, but most came to know him as the Comte, or Count, St. Germain. One of his many wild boasts and claims was that he was more than 500 years old. Perhaps even older than that. Just who was this mysterious figure who showed up in 18th century salons? SUB TO THE PPM PATREON TO HEAR THE EXCLUSIVE ADVANCE RELEASE OF THIS NEARLY 4 HR EPISODE NOW:patreon.com/ParaPowerMappingTo discuss the state of communist and socialist counter-propaganda and indoctrination efforts on TikTok and the possible impacts of the imminent TikTok-Oracle-Fox merger, I'm joined by James Rehwald of MeansTV, the creator of many viral, info-laden, Marxist quote heavy, anti-imperialist TikTok sketches such as:“Join the CIA Today”“The War Machine”“Is Israeli Food Even Real?”“When you ‘vote' the imperialism & fascism away”and more.James is someone whose videos I've garnered enjoyment and edification from for a few years now and I'd been planning to ask him to come on the show for a minute once I became aware we had a mutual appreciation on Twitter, but the combo of the acquisition, Leavitt's comments the other day, and a previous interaction we had re world's sometimes wealthiest man Larry Ellison hastened my decision to hit him up and congealed the idea of attacking these topics together in my mind, and I can think of no one better to do so with. This is also a bit of an impromptu AmerIsraeli Years of Lead and PAWG aka Palantir Apartheid w/ White Gov session spurred forward by said recently assembled Zio·nist consortium's imminent TikTok takeover at Trump and the Israel lobby's behest. The logic behind this episode tying into our ongoing paying of heed to the AmerIsraeli Years of Lead is due to the fact that the Trump admin seems to be using the recent Charlie Kirk assassination / deep event as a pretext for retraining TikTok's algorithm to further suppress leftist content on the platform as illustrated by Press Secretary Leavitt. Said presser also fielded questions regarding Trump's decision to have the Bigfoot-esque, cryptid "insurgent movement" called “antifa” designated a domestic terrorist organization—which is, in its present iteration, mostly a fiction or else a mask donned by Gladioperators.Amongst that and the announcement of the Autism Action Plan (lol), Press Sec Leavitt also spoke to the TikTok acquisition, stating that, if the deal as presently outlined goes through, the app's US operations would be taken over by a majority American owned consortium helmed by vampiric, Bryan Johnson-financing multibillionaire Larry Ellison and populated by a number of Zio·nist national and cybersecurity experts, that Ellison's company Oracle will serve as TikTok's “trusted security provider”, that the servers would all be physically located in the States “without access from China”, and that the algorithm would ultimately be retrained, naturally leading to even more oppressive censorship of leftist and anti-Zionist dissent on the platform. Our convo takes a three-pronged approach (in reverse order):We expend some time and energy ParaPower Mapping the acquisition consortium together and situating it within a larger geo-and-deep political context, laying out the ways in which Ellison, Oracle, Michael Dell, the Murdochs, Fox, Andreessen-Horowitz, and Silver Lake and indirect industry and congressional backers of the Ban-Tok Bill like Alex Karp and Anthony Goldbloom and Rep. Gallagher are marked by deeply entrenched Zio·nist ideology and are inextricably entangled with the gen·ocidal, apartheid EntityWe discuss our TikTok prognoses and what the deal may mean for online anti-hasbara actionAnd I also pick James's brain re his experience as a leftist content creator; how he's harnessed video-making to promulgate postcolonial, anti-Zionist, and Marxist ideology; his writing process and the development of his distinctive, whimsically DIY, Hardboiled Nerf Gun style; and any advice he's willing to give to fellow traveling creatorsSUPPORT JAMES REHWALD:https://www.patreon.com/JamesRehwaldhttps://means.tv/programs/james-rehwaldFULL NOTES ON PATREON

In 2021, American multi-millionaire Bryan Johnson began his Project Blueprint. Then 43, his stated aim was to restore his body and organs to the state of an eighteen-year-old. To do this, he follows an extreme fitness program and a strict diet, and takes a whole host of medicines and supplements, not to mention undergoing an organ operation every year. All of this costs around $2M per year. His team of doctors say that the results are promising, but other medical experts are more skeptical. Haven't we always wanted to slow down the ageing process? How does reverse ageing work then? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions! To listen to the last episodes, you can click here: Why do we get screen apnea? What is kalsarikännit? A Note from JamesI've been on and off writing. From 2004 to 2021, I wrote one to two books a year, without fail. Since then, nothing. But I've been working on an idea: obsession. When I'm not obsessed, I can't do much—sometimes not even the basics. But when I am obsessed, I can turn that energy into real outcomes: a business, a book, a skill, sometimes success, sometimes failure. This episode comes from a recent conversation I had with the Ventura Labs team. We talked about obsession, but also about AI, crypto, and how those obsessions have led to building TAO Synergies ($TAOX), a public company on Nasdaq. I'd love to hear your thoughts: should I write this as a book? Brian Balfour is the founder of Reforge, the former VP of Growth at HubSpot, and a student (and teacher) of product growth. Brian has studied every major platform shift—from Facebook to Apple to Google—and he's spotted a pattern that's about to repeat with ChatGPT.In this conversation, you'll learn:1. The 4-step cycle every platform follows (and why ChatGPT just entered step 2)2. Why ChatGPT's platform launch could be bigger than Facebook's early platform3. The exact signals that ChatGPT will launch a third-party platform within six months4. Why you have six months (not years) to make your platform bet5. Why companies that don't integrate with ChatGPT will lose to competitors that do6. How Zynga grew to $1B by betting on Facebook's platform early (before it was obvious)7.
