Join us on The Coaching Podcast with our guest coach, Adam Klein, as we unpack essential topics like the "Leader as Coach," the journey of living your vocation, and navigating resistance to unlock team cohesion and inspiration. Discover how integral coaching invites individuals to embrace their full selves—mind, body, and spirit—and how coaches can empower their team members to take responsibility, commit to each other, and work more efficiently together. We'll delve into the art of attunement and response in effective coaching. From practical tips on supporting shy or introverted clients to insights on the mind-body connection and strategies for handling resistance, this episode is packed with valuable knowledge for both new and experienced coaches. Check out the highlights; 1.08: Text or Call? 2.13: What is integral coaching? It is an invitation for someone to discover and lean into their vocation/purpose! To include all of yourself, your thinking world, your feeling world, and your sensing world. 3.13: What can a coach do if their team members are bringing "all" of their problems to work? It is important to have the person consider: How can you step into more responsibility? More ownership when you show up as your true self? More self-leadership? How can you support the team? Working together more efficiently? 5.04: How did you become a coach? 7.15: How can people uncover their vocation? Acknowledge that that voice is there and then listen to your inner voice. 9.19: What makes a great coach? Attunement (to self and others) - listening beyond the words Response (to your client in a way that is helpful) 13.11: How to coach a person who is shy, reserved, or introverted? Shift the physical dynamics, environment, or space to create new insights 16.09: What are your thoughts on the mind and body connection? Relax into the discomfort, breathe into the pain (stop trying to PUSH THROUGH it) PAUSE, take a breath, and let's "see what happens", take one more step! Remember WHY am I doing this? What's my commitment? 18.18: How can you help coaches who are experiencing resistance? "What is the resistance teaching me?" "How do I befriend resistance?" 20.28: Do you think that this next generation is internally motivated? Yes! People want it but don't necessarily know how to access it. The missing piece is commitment! 22.09: How can you help a team be more cohesive? It comes back to being aligned with the team's commitment! 23.29: What's your purpose? "letting go of everything that is not love and becoming all flame bringing healing and light to others!" 24.01: What disruptive coaching idea do you have that will change the way we coach in 2030? Coaching is for people who can listen holistically and respond generatively! 25.22: Do you think anyone can become a coach? 26.14: What do you mean by 'Leader as Coach?' "Being the wind under the wing." 27.54: New Venture West Coach Training has three main tracks: 1) Personal cultivation: A coach's way of being - how does the coach show up? (the coach is the soil and you have to cultivate the soil) 2) Learning competencies and skillful coaching: Coaching skills (plant the seeds of coaching skills such as listening, and making requests) 3) Learning within a community: Dual track is practiced within a cohort so that you can all learn from each other 30.02: Three top tips on how coaches can respond generatively. 1) Attunement: Who is this person now? (Not, who do we think they are!) 2) Notice our skillfulness (What's my own range in being able to respond?) 3) Who am I learning from? As you may have noticed the podcasts me and Jayde have been recording under the banner of The NVW show has received a little name change! The NVW show was always supposed to be a live-streamed show that developed with input from the viewers and involved current events form a producer type on all of my favourite subjects. I still want to make that show someday but todays episode was so impactful and emotional it deserved to be the inaugural episode of the Nick+Jayde Podcast. We covered our respective months since we recorded last including Jayde's new roommates, friends and most importantly self realizations. Along with a breakdown of my breakneck rollercoaster ride of a one month crush/fling/romance or who friggin knows what to call it. The episode was very vulnerable and had some serious tears and emotions and you have to listen to the end because thats where it gets the deepest so no skipping out on us!
Welcome relatives and listeners to our “From Boys to Men, Healing the Patriarchy Within Series” Series, where our CAM Cohort interview and put praxis into action as they learn from men about their stories and experiences at the frontline of healing intergenerational roots as they address toxic masculinity and address patriarchal challenges. We recognize and celebrate that both the masculine and feminine should be celebrated and honored in harmony. In this episode, we learn from Steve Sawyer a bit about the journey that has led him to his influential work with wilderness therapy co-founding New Vision Wilderness Therapy, as a passionate trainer in Brainspotting and HeartMath, and being a licensed clinician with a breadth of experience in mental health and AODA. Steve is an exceptional partner and friend to HIR Wellness and our founder, Lea Denny. Please visit the links at the bottom of this description to learn more about Steve. Hosts: Liz and Fondé If you want to engage in the conversation and reflect for yourself, come along as we free-think and activate our medicine together. Come as you are! Check out this video of Steve in the field with New Vision Wilderness Therapy, and he shares more about NVW's commitment to Trauma-Informed Care here. We heard your feedback and got Jayde back on the NVW show! We went down even more rabbit holes and had a whole ton of laughs. We chat about the recent movies we have seen including, Top Gun, the new Thor, Encanto and many more. I pitch Stranger Things to Jayde in the hopes of convincing her to watch as well as letting the world know how much I love that show!As always we get a little deep from time to time but we balance this episode out nicely with some randomness and silly goose talk (My fav!)
Come check out the third installment of the NVW show where you can hear all about Nick's week including accidentally getting on stage to do stand up for the second time as well as a bunch of local current events and obviously a lot of MMA talk. Please let us know what types of current events/segments you would like to hear about as well as any ways we can improve the show. Also if you have ever wanted to see what its like to be on a podcast but getting interviewed is too scary? I would love to start having a rotating fan couch that can come in for the hang while we record and if you would like to hop into the conversation you can as much or as little as possible! Also if anyone wants to do a logo or intro song for this new show we are welcoming submissions.
Episode 2 of the Nick von Wackerbarth show is here! We broke down my week including an in-depth walkthrough of my first experience trying stand up comedy, some great podcast we recorded and everything in between. We also do a content review where I list of some of the best podcasts and youtube videos I watched over the week. We then went into some current events and it turned into some mma/combat sports business rabbit holes that I think you will enjoy even if you know nothing of the sports. I find it endlessly fascinating to watch the business side of the fastest growing sport in the world!Still looking for a logo, intro music, segment ideas and fan questions so send them our way on Instagram!
This is the first episode of the Nick von Wackerbarth Show, a shorter solo driven show with segments current events and updates on what i get up to and what podcasts I'm listening to week to week. I say show because as opposed to The VonDubCast and The Oilers Uncensored podcasts I want this show to be more than just a podcast. Of course the audio will always be released on the podcast apps as well but I'm hoping to bring a more visual aspect as well as hopefully start streaming it live at the same time every week so you can join along. This first episode is basically breaking down what we want the format to be, what segments we would like to do and how we are hoping it will develop into. We did not plan on it but it also ended up being a very interesting story time about my life's journey, what got me into podcasting and everything up until now. So if you have ever wanted my story theres not many places better than right here!I really want the listeners to feel a sense of ownership over this show and to grow it together. So far we are looking for: Name suggestions, Logos, Intro Music, Segment Ideas and fan questions and we hope to have the streaming part down soon so we can bring you all into the fold as soon as possible. This was lots of fun and I hope you like it!
How can wilderness therapy help young people suffering from trauma? Is transporting young people to wilderness therapy traumatizing? We explore these topics and more with Steve Sawyer, Co-Founder/Chief Clinical Consultant of New Visions Wilderness. Steve has been a long-time champion of trauma-informed care and entered the wilderness therapy field when there was little discussion about trauma in behavioral healthcare. Steve shares his thoughts about trauma-informed care versus trauma-responsive care and how wilderness therapy programs have evolved in their approach to trauma over the years. Steve also dives into the challenging subjects of whether transporting youth to wilderness therapy can be done without trauma and whether behavioral healthcare has become too focused on trauma. From the New Visions Website: Steve Sawyer is a licensed psychotherapist filled with passion and knowledge surrounding the intervention and change process. His experience comes from over a decade of intervention with tough-to-reach client populations in therapy settings ranging from residential, community-based, outpatient and wilderness therapy. Steve is trained in several unique therapeutic models including somatic trigger release, traumatic memory reprocessing, and HeartMath. He is also recognized internationally as a Brainspotting trainer and consultant who trains outpatient therapist and treatment programs. Through his experience he has authored two books, co-founded Wisconsin's only wilderness therapy program, New Vision Wilderness, and works as a core therapeutic training development staff with the Institute of HeartMath. He was an author in the innovative and comprehensive HeartMath Interventions Establishing a New Baseline for Sustained Behavioral Change therapist training Module that revolutionizes modern therapy interventions through an emotional physiology approach. Steve's largest project has been the development of NVW's Trauma Informed Care model in the wilderness setting that has challenged the entire wilderness therapy industry on making healthier interventions with their clients. Steve's trainings are recognized nationwide for cutting-edge therapeutic techniques and inspiration.
