Mark Matzke from Ohio joins Thomas and Julie to share his experiences with the rest of the team from Small Town Monsters! He explains how this all started with a chance encounter with Seth Breedlove at the Ohio Bigfoot Conference in 2014. He has been on quite the journey since, traveling to California, Fouke, Arkansas and beyond, crossing off events from his bucket list as he goes, many times with his son. The book tells the story of some of the more colorful and sometimes hilarious characters, such as Dahinden, Green, Titmus, Krantz, Byrne and Bindernagel, considered to be the “original bigfoot hunters” and the legacy they left behind. He met the Bluff Creek Project guys and has been working with them ever since. He began writing the book in the fall of 2017 and self-published in the fall of 2023. "On the Shoulders of Giants- Talking Old Timers with Thomas Steenburg" welcomes podcast host and researcher Nikki Colon from west Texas. Nikki is the host of the podcast show "Sasquatch Secrets", founded in 2021. On her show she and her guests discuss Bigfoot hoaxers, liars and the insanity that can encompass the Bigfoot research arena. She has been involved in the Bigfoot community since 2013. She has always had a fascination with cryptids, especially Sasquatch. She grew up camping and having a love for the outdoors at a young age. In 2023 she attended the Mount St. Helen's Sasquatch Shindig in Washington State. It was a joint alliance Bigfoot Adventure between the U.S. and Canada. Our very own Thomas Steenburg also attended and the two became fast friends. She's lived abroad in South Korea and has traveled to China and Thailand. He tells the hosts about a creepy encounter that happened to a woman and her small child parked in a rest area in the middle of nowhere, and the disturbing sight one hunter experienced while hunting hogs. He contracted with various departments including DOT, The Nature Conservancy and Dept of the Army as an assessment biologist. In addition, his business, Nedrelo Lectures concentrated on wildlife conservation and environmental education. He has over 35 yrs. of public speaking coast to coast. Published in over 100 books and magazines he also uses photography in his lyceums, displays and demos. Dan started in the BFRO for four years and became an independent researcher. He also has numerous groups online including WILDMAN Literature & Art and Data Sasquatch Witnesses as well as working with others such as Alex Evans and Sybilla Irwin who specialize in sasquatch witness description.
