Titoli in rialzo includono Mediobanca e STM, mentre Fincantieri e Unicredit registrano perdite. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
The STM's recent bus network overhaul, tied to the launch of the West Island REM line, has left some riders scrambling. One of them is Pointe-Claire resident Jaine Orr, who says the agency eliminated the early-morning 211 bus she relied on for more than 25 years to get to work downtown. She spoke to Andrew Carter. Elias Makos caps off the week with Neil Drabkin, is a lawyer who served as federal prosecutor and a political commentator who was a chief of staff in the Harper government, and Paul Gott, Lead singer and guitarist for Montreal Punk Rock band the Ripcordz and a journalism professor at Concordia. The government wants to fast-track a bill that would ban energy drinks for people under the age of 16. There is just one problem. The Quebec Conservative party is planning to block it. The commissioner of Major League Soccer was in town yesterday, making a push for the Quebec government to finish what they started and fully renovate the interior of Olympic Stadium. After a photo of an STM map on the 747 bus that spelled Bishop Street as “BEESHOP,” the chairman of the STM says the signs will soon be fixed. Is it the beginning of a violent summer in Montreal? Three men were killed in less than two days in Montreal and Laval.
At some point this market will turn down. I don't mind holding fundamentally good stocks even through a downturn. But if I'm holding hype stocks or stocks that make no sense at the valuations - that's when I want to find an exit. When will the market run stop? Go read this article. AI stocks face a momentum-reversal test. Here's how to navigate itSIGNAL STACK LINK
Elias Makos kicks the week off with Jimmy Zoubris, Montreal businessman, longtime activist and former special advisor to Valerie Plante, and Gabriel Retta, special advisor to the mayor. Religious event organizers say the city’s application of Quebec secularism law is confusing. A racist rally in Shawinigan over the weekend is drawing widespread condemnation across political class. Despite tougher rules, illegal Airbnb networks have taken over new housing towers in downtown Montreal. It’s been 20 years since smoking was banned from bars and restaurants. Seems like the city has forgotten how to spell its own proper street names. Riders on the STM’s 747 bus now have maps that indicate the Bishop street stop, but it’s spelled BEESHOP. And over in NDG, construction signs indicate the detour for Prince of Wales Avenue, but it’s spelled WHALES. What’s going on here?

Kelsi chats with co-authors, Hal Senkbeil and Lucas Woodford of the newly released "The Culture of God's Word: Faithful Ministry in a Post-Christian Society." The duo talk about remaining faithful to the preaching of God's effective words of law and gospel no matter what ministry trends or cultural contexts surround us. Woodford, (MDiv, STM, DMin), is President of the Minnesota South District of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod and Associate Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Farmington, MN. Dr. Woodford is a Fellow in the Collegium of DOXOLOGY: The Lutheran Center for Spiritual Care and Counsel, charged with research, writing, and speaking regarding the care of souls in the contemporary context. His rural background has shaped his approach to work and people. He married Jane Frances Nesset in 1971. They are the parents of three and the grandparents of four.
Juni in Hamburg:

This week, in Velma, Oklahoma, when someone walks into a small store, with no clerk, and finds a pool of blood, detectives search for the missing clerk. Churches say they want hard conversations. They say they're ready to change. And then the STM arrives. Part 2 of the STM roundtable with Roger Sparks and Harv Roosma moves from the structure of this ministry into the raw material they actually work with: human nature. Forgiven, being sanctified, still human. People talk, Roger says plainly, as long as they sense you're going to agree with them. The real work begins when you don't. The surface issues vary — declining attendance, unaddressed conflict, gender disagreements, councils stretched thin, vision that's gone fuzzy. But underneath almost all of it is the same thing: a trust deficit. When trust breaks down, everything else follows. And Jason, who has watched more church conflict than most as a stated clerk, names the failure mode he's seen destroy congregations: when councils start deciding what to share and what to control, the congregation already knows. Trust, once lost, is very hard to get back. The antidote isn't a program. It's the thing Roger keeps coming back to — talk to each other instead of about each other. Pray for each other, not just about each other. Harv talks about the profound satisfaction of preaching on forgiveness, feeling the pushback from people who aren't sure they want to go there, and watching something break open. Roger talks about the honor of being trusted with someone's pain. Both talk about the same miracle: you walk in as strangers and leave as friends. When Dan asks what settled pastors can do to protect their churches, the answers are disarmingly simple — be honest, go talk to people yourself, don't give anyone a stick to hit you with, love your Bible, love your people, practice humility over flash, keep vision sharp, and address things before they fester. **Timestamps:** - 0:00 — Intro - 1:06 — Harv: trust building before the hard questions - 2:20 — Roger: human nature — people talk as long as they think you'll agree - 2:51 — The goal: not agreement, but understanding - 3:27 — When trust is the core problem - 4:13 — Common issues: communication (Roger) - 5:57 — Harv: declining attendance, gender conflict, leadership gaps, unaddressed issues, vision ambiguity - 8:13 — Jason: communication and trust as the underlying root - 9:11 — How to work through a trust deficit - 10:34 — "Pray for each other, not just about each other" - 11:28 — The joys of STM ministry - 12:40 — Harv: the joy of walking a church through forgiveness - 13:20 — Roger: the honor of being trusted with someone's pain - 14:42 — "You come as strangers, and through the miracle of the gospel, you leave as friends" - 15:36 — What can settled pastors do to protect their churches? - 16:23 — Roger: be honest, go talk to people, love the Bible and love people, humility over flash - 18:31 — Harv: clarify vision, gospel focus, train leaders, address issues - 19:49 — Communication deep dive: council transparency - 22:39 — Jason: when councils control the narrative, trust evaporates - 23:40 — Harv: listening groups and solution thinking - 26:25 — Roger: don't treat STM as a stigma - 27:09 — Harv: we have so much to celebrate; God is doing great things - 28:13 — Jason: if God is calling you to STM, reach out to Roger, Harv, or PCR Join and support us on Substack: https://themessyreformation.com/ Intro music by Matt Krotzer
The journey to Mars is a long one so when humans arrive, we will need to maximize the science in order to understand the environment for a future there – and to learn more about how the universe formed. What are those big science questions we should seek to answer and how should the journey(s) be scheduled? After two years the National Academy of Sciences has published a report (Dec 2025) called “A Science Strategy for the Human Exploration of Mars”. In this episode Colleen Stover hosts the committee co-chairs The Honorable Dr. Dava Newman (MIT, former NASA Deputy Administrator) and Dr. Lindy Elkins-Tanton (Director, UC Berkely Space Sciences Laboratory). You can read the full report on the NAS website. “A Science Strategy for the Human Exploration of Mars”. In this episode, we sit down with Aleks Petakov of Small Town Monsters to explore years of boots-on-the-ground Bigfoot investigations stretching from the remote coastline of Alaska to the dense forests of Kentucky and beyond. Aleks shares what it is really like to spend extended time in isolated wilderness where help is miles away and unusual activity unfolds long after midnight. On Alaska's Kenai Peninsula, Aleks recounts late-night wood knocks cutting through the rainforest, rocks striking shoreline waters in the early morning hours, and heavy stomping sounds moving near camp. He describes the discovery of a primate-like handprint on a remote cabin, large impressions pressed deep into moss, and a strange rock-scraping sound heard from across a creek that has never been fully explained. The conversation moves to a cold November night in Kentucky, where a distinct wood knock was followed by a large thermal heat signature on a hillside that disappeared within minutes. Aleks reflects on the challenge of documenting fleeting moments like these, the weight of credible eyewitness testimony, and what long-term fieldwork teaches you about patience, risk, and uncertainty. We also discuss his upcoming Journey to Ape Island project on Vancouver Island, an area layered with Indigenous history, generations of Sasquatch lore, and some of the most rugged terrain in North America.Join us for a grounded, field-driven conversation that brings you into the reality of modern Bigfoot investigation and leaves you thinking long after the episode ends.ResourcesAlaskan Coastal Sasquatch Documentaryhttps://youtu.be/kjLLHL7GouQ?si=ZWykQHuUk-jAlTaNSmall Town Monsters 2026 Kickstarter (UFOs, Dogman & Bigfoot)https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/minervamonster/small-town-monsters-2026-ufos-dogman-and-bigfoot

The CRCNA is navigating a pastoral shortage, smaller candidate pools, and congregations that have been through enough upheaval that calling a new pastor straight away isn't always the right first move. This episode introduces the STM — the Specialized Transitional Minister — through two men who have made it their life's work: Roger Sparks and Harv Roosma. They want you to know something upfront: having an STM doesn't mean your church is a problem church. Roger came to the work through a painful door. After 34 years in Medicine Hat, Rock Valley, and Laverne, he'd watched churches go through messy separations as a synodical deputy — and gone through one himself. Harv arrived differently: a teacher turned pastor who spent 20 years on Vancouver Island before sensing that the churches he served had deeper needs he wasn't equipped to meet. Pastor-Church Relations pointed him toward STM in 2018. He's been doing it ever since. The structure is practical — a year-long commitment, first six months learning the church, second six months preparing the way for the next pastor. A priority list of 14-15 items gets narrowed to three or four. The training through the Interim Ministry Network is serious: church DNA, change dynamics, appreciative inquiry, moving a congregation from scarcity thinking to abundance thinking. But the phrase that captures the spirit of the whole thing is Harv's: we go in pre-fired. Your time is limited anyway. There's no fear. The job is to uncover what needs to be uncovered and love people well on the way out. **Timestamps:** - 0:00 — Intro - 1:08 — Roger Sparks: 34 years in Medicine Hat, Rock Valley, and Laverne - 3:00 — What drew Roger to STM: synodical deputy work and a painful church split - 5:19 — Harv Roosma: teacher to pastor, Vancouver Island to the Midwest - 7:41 — What led Harv to STM: sensing needs he didn't have tools to address - 8:02 — Jason: STMs aren't just for "problem churches" - 9:10 — The pastoral shortage and STM demand in the CRC - 12:08 — What a one-year STM commitment looks like - 13:22 — The 6-month model: learning the church, then preparing for the next pastor - 15:10 — The priority list: narrowing 14-15 items to 3-4 per church - 16:54 — When a church closes: walking a congregation through its death - 17:25 — STM training: the Interim Ministry Network - 19:09 — Tools: appreciative inquiry, asset mapping, scarcity to abundance thinking - 19:59 — The skills of the STM: avoiding triangulation, practicing differentiation - 21:37 — Annual conference and peer Zoom groups - 23:50 — The license to ask hard questions: what the STM invitation actually means - 25:44 — "We go in pre-fired" - 26:42 — Conversations that don't stay at surface level - 27:05 — The bittersweet: friendships formed and goodbyes Join and support us on Substack: https://themessyreformation.com/ Intro music by Matt Krotzer

On Orbit revisits the question with Chiara Manfletti, CEO of Portugal-based space traffic management company Neuraspace. Chiara emphasizes the need for better coordination on space situational awareness (SSA) and space traffic management (STM) and the evolving landscape of standards and regulations. This episode also covers how nations have taken a greater interest in working with commercial operators for SSA capabilities, and why strong SSA is critical for ensuring peace as space becomes more contested.
Dr. Howell talks with Rev. Kate Murphy, pastor of The Grove in Charlotte and author of Lost, Hidden, Small: Finding the Way of Jesus Where We Never Think to Look. She reflects on the gap between the Jesus we meet in Scripture and the habits of the modern church, and why seeking God in discomfort, smallness, and unlikely places can reshape our faith. Rev. Murphy earned both an M.Div. and an STM from Boston University School of Theology.
