In the first half, author and physicist Stan Deyo discussed pressing global issues and advancements in technology. Reflecting on the current geopolitical climate, particularly the conflicts in the Middle East, Deyo said he sees the potential for World War III. "I think we're going to get real close to it very quickly," he stated. He believes that by 2025, tensions could escalate to a point where people might welcome alien intervention as a solution to these conflicts. "The people of Earth will cry out for someone to solve the problem," he claimed. The conversation then touched on the topic of gravity, with Deyo proposing that it could be harnessed as an energy source—a revolutionary technology that could provide electricity without traditional power grids. "We could have energy anywhere we are," he suggested. He also shared his views on climate change, which align with President-elect Donald Trump's skepticism. According to Deyo, the Sun's uncontrollable activity is the real cause of global warming, but those in power want the public to believe it's a man-made problem, thereby giving the population a sense of control. "[Climate change] is a scam... but I think it may be a necessary scam," he argued. On the topic of artificial intelligence, Deyo expressed alarm at its rapid development. He warned that if AI is allowed to reprogram itself, then "we've created a beast." He predicted that a future world government might rely heavily on AI for decision-making, emphasizing its speed and efficiency compared to human capabilities. "It thinks at about 100 million times faster than a human can," he pointed out.-------------------In the second half, renowned cryptozoologist Loren Coleman shared insights on various legendary creatures. Coleman, who has made dozens of appearances on the show, reflected on his professional journey from working as a researcher to becoming the director of the International Cryptozoology Museum. "If I'm going to have a legacy, I might as well be in charge of founding a museum," he joked.Coleman maintained that "about 80% of the things I look into are misidentifications," but that 15% could potentially be new species. He mentioned that while Bigfoot remains a popular subject, interests in creatures like chupacabras and Mothman fluctuate over time. Regarding the elusive Bigfoot, Coleman reflected on historical discoveries, asserting, "We're still in the early stages of collecting evidence." He explained that while there have been many recent sightings, the quest for definitive proof continues.Coleman also discussed several other cryptids, including Mothman, which he described as "over-human-sized" and tied to Native American lore. He cautioned that many recent sightings, particularly in Chicago, might be misidentified balloons or drones. Regarding the Dogman, he suggested that some reports could actually be misinterpretations of Bigfoot. "There's less evidence there [for Dogman] than for Bigfoot," he remarked. He also touched on chupacabras, describing two types: one resembling a dog and another with a more humanoid form. Coleman then expressed optimism about the Orang Pendek, a small ape-like creature from Indonesia, saying, "Of all the cryptids we're talking about tonight, the one that will be found next, I think, will be the Orang Pendek."Coleman concluded by discussing the coywolf, a hybrid between coyotes and wolves, and the potential existence of the dodo bird, asserting that "there are still some remote and quite undiscovered areas" where these birds might be hiding.

Welcome to Paranormal Spectrum, where we illuminate the enigmatic corners of the supernatural world. I'm your host, Barnaby Jones, and today we have a very special guest joining us:Zach Bales has had an interest in the paranormal for as long as he can remember. Growing up in rural Kentucky in the foothills of Appalachia, Bales spent much of his youth fascinated by tales of ghosts, monsters, and “little green men.” His interest in the paranormal has taken him to the far corners of the North American continent and to twenty-eight countries on five continents.Over the years, Bales has come face to face with many of Earth's most compelling mysteries—from the jungles of Latin America to the antique lands of Northern Africa, from the moors of England and Scotland to the cradle of civilization in the Middle East. Bales documented many of these encounters in his five books—The Amateur's Guide to Ghost Hunting, The Expert's Guide to Ghost Hunting, The Bigfooter's Atlas, The UFO Chaser's Atlas, and The Atlas of the Unexplained: Mothman. In December 2020, The Bigfooter's Atlas was recognized as the “Book of the Year” by the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine. Bales' fascination with folklore and storytelling led him to pursue a career in the study of English language and literature. After obtaining a BA from Eastern Kentucky University and an MA from the University of the Cumberlands, Bales sought a position in Secondary English Education, where he has spent the better part of two decades. In October 2020, Bales was recognized as the Kentucky Teacher of the Week. Bales is a regular on the convention and festival circuit, appearing alongside his wife, Melissa, at events throughout the United States. Bales has been featured in television and film as well as on a number of nationally syndicated radio programs. In 2022, Bales opened Paranormal Roadtripper's Nightmare Gallery in Somerset, Kentucky, which features his collection of curiosities—a menagerie of the unusual, the unexplained, and the otherworldly—as well as a one-of-a-kind gift shop. In 2024, the Nightmare Gallery doubled in size, making it one of the largest exhibits of its kind anywhere in the world.Click that play button, and let's unravel the mysteries of the UNTOLD! Were they always alphabetical around an imaginary clock face? And what's a clock anyway? Hear this year's art theme (ANIMALIA) express itself through cryptids (animals that no one can prove are real). Folklore and fandom brought us our new ABC street names: Afanc, Bigfoot, Chupacabra, Dingbat… and NOT the Easter Bunny, thanks to Encantados, which are were-dolphins that shape-shift into dapper dancers in search of a party.  This is an episode with literature, lore, and laughter — and a pile of BRC trivia for street cred.Streets of BRC 2023: Cavalcade of Cryptids | Burning Man JournalBurning Man 2023: ANIMALIATerry “Retro” Schoop | Burning Man JournalBurning Man Staff: Terry Schoop

I Want to Believe the Podcast – S3 E13 – The Bigfoot 911 Call Original Call Recording | North Carolina Calls | Dog Killed Call (right at beginning) Welcome to the I Want to Believe podcast! Calling 911 is typically due to some sort of an emergency… not Bigfoot. We’ll tell ya more in a sec… But first!! A quick reminder that ALL of our I Want to Believe social media & email are below. ALSO you can watch my documentary, Otherworldly Amor on Amazon Prime right now, DVDs are available. Ok… let’s get into the story of when a man called 911 due to a Bigfoot encounter. Bigfoot sightings are reported from around the world and have been for a long time. In different regions and cultures of the world, the Bigfoot is known by many different names; Sasquatch, Yeti, Yowie and many more. Also, the phenomenon is more popular than ever. There have been numerous television shows covering the topic throughout recent years. And there are two acclaimed museums on both coasts of the United States. Of course, there’s the International Cryptozoology Museum located in our home state of Maine. It’s just about 2-3 hours south of us in the city of Portland and famously curated by the legendary Loren Coleman. And in the summer of 2019, Bigfoot researcher Cliff Barackman opened a museum in the inappropriately named town of Boring, Oregon called the North American Bigfoot Center. Now, more than ever before, reports are just pouring in from all over. The Bigfoot Research Organization is just barely keeping up. Crytozoologynews.com speculates that it could be due to-quote, “video cameras being built in mobile phones.” Despite all of these reports, it’s fairly rare to find the police involved in such things. This case in particular, is intriguing due to a call being placed to 911 from the witness. As we all know, emergency services record all incoming calls. This one has yet to be confirmed by officials but many crypto themed websites do think it to be authentic.  Listen to the episode for the full story.  Sources: Cryptozoology News Social Media & Email I Want to Believe Instagram I Want to Believe Patreon Send us an Email (suggest an episode topic, tell us how awesome or dumb we are… whatever you want!) Hunter Shea is the product of a misspent childhood watching scary movies, reading forbidden books and wishing Bigfoot would walk past his house. He doesn’t just write about the paranormal – he actively seeks out the things that scare the hell out of people and experiences them for himself. Hunter’s novels can even be found on display at the International Cryptozoology Museum. His video podcast, Monster Men, is one of the most watched horror podcasts in the world. He’s a bestselling author of over 13 (lucky number!) books, all of them written with the express desire to quicken heartbeats and make spines tingle. Living with his wonderful family and two cats, he’s happy to be close enough to New York City to gobble down Gray’s Papaya hotdogs when the craving hits. I recently spoke with Hunter about his path to writing, his affection for all things gore, and the importance of getting people to care about characters. As he puts it, “If you don’t have characters people care about, who cares if the monster eats them all?” Stick with the conversation to hear a real-life ghost story and Hunter’s perspectives on Werewolf porn.
