Next, cohost Mickey Huff sits down with investigative journalist Peter Byrne to unveil a new 10-part series titled Military AI Watch: the dangerous militarization of AI and the profiteering behind it. In the fall last year I became aware of the legend of the Leshy of pagan Slavic culture through an excellent YA novel called "Where the Dark Stands Still" by Polish writer A.B. Poranek. When I googled the Leshy I was astounded to see images of what I recognised as the Wendigo. So this got me thinking - is there a Slavic influence at play here too? Perhaps this is something you could look in to! I am really looking forward to the book and film regarding the Wendigo which I understand may come out next year. I have been fascinated by the Wendigo since reading Algernon Blackwood's novella and there is one passage in particular that always sticks in my mind: "And soon after he slept, the change of wind he had divined stirred gently the reflection of the stars within the lake. Rising among the far ridges of the country beyond Fifty Island Water, it came from the direction in which he had stared, and it passed over the sleeping camp with a faint and sighing murmur through the tops of the big trees that was almost too delicate to be audible. With it, down the desert paths of night, though too faint, too high even for the Indian's hair-like nerves, there passed a curious, thin odor, strangely disquieting, an odor of something that seemed unfamiliar—utterly unknown." From 1993-1998, Henry Franzoni, participated as an advisor of Peter Byrne's Bigfoot Research Project with Ron Morehead. He also created the first online discussion forum focusing on Bigfoot. Members of the research project, also analyzed and released their findings on the famous Patterson-Gimlin film. In addition, he also took part in a movie about Bigfoot in which he played drums.Born in Paris, France, Franzoni and his family moved to New Jersey where they lived until he was 17. They then relocated to Oregon where he became a recording artist. Peter Byrne was the last remaining member of the Four Horsemen of Sasquatchery. After looking for Bigfoot for decades, the 97-year-old tracker passed away in August 2023. In the first segment, James Bamford speaks about Project Butterfly, a multimillion-dollar campaign begun in 2015 to undermine pro-Palestinian advocacy in the U.S., especially on campuses. He asks why U.S. law enforcement has never investigated Israeli agents connected with Project Butterfly, the 2020 Trump campaign, and other domestic activities. Next, Peter Byrne discusses his article written on assignment for the North Bay Bohemian, which the Bohemian then declined to publish. Byrne believes this happened because his article was about a protest against the Israeli massacres in Gaza. He also speaks more generally about Israeli efforts to tilt U.S. public discourse about the Middle East. Alex Wolfe grew up in western Pennsylvania and studied Theology at DeSales University. Through the experience of seeing his parents get divorced while he was in college, Alex decided to study at the John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and the Family in Washington, D.C. There, he completed the Master of Theological Studies degree and coursework for the Ph.D. Alex is now the Assistant Director of the Office of Marriage, Family, and Respect Life at the Diocese of Arlington, where he focuses on marriage preparation and healing for children of divorce.
