What's up everybody! This is Thomas Bahamas and you are here for episode number 37 of Solana Weekly. Here to drop some alpha on what's going on and where we're going. This was another crazy week with one of the leading Defi protocols on Solana getting hacked, Tensor launching their NFT project and Rollbit sending to the moon. Never a dull week and I'm looking forward to diving in. To the market:Sol Price: $24.38 with an overall increase of 5% on the week. Not a bad week with a good push in the price action starting yesterday. We saw a low of just under 22.50 and a high of almost 25, so not that much volatility and I'm hoping we continue on the upside. SolEth- .01305 with an increase of 14% on the week. Eth acting like a stablecoin these days. Doesn't dip, doesn't pump. Hearing more of their deflationary narrative and how people aren't ready for a token that burns itself, and a talks of and ETH ETF if BTC get's one through. So yea I'll take a 14% gain vs ETH. SolBtc - flat on the week. Interesting here, we're keeping pace with Bitcoin even when Eth underperforms. I'd like to call that bullish but we'll see. Gambling vs investing long talk.As we see Product Market Fit in Rollbit while I miss the pump and sit on the sidelines, we've gotta have the gambling talk. PMF in crypto has always been gambling. Gamblers are willing to take more risk on risky platforms and have likely been burned a bunch prior to their entry into crypto. This is how I got here, online poker sites weren't keeping customer funds separate from operational funds and ended up going bust and taking everyone's money. Crypto solved this. Also to get funds on was dicey. I've bought phone minutes that transferred to Party Poker, I've had random debit cards I could only withdraw so much cash on, I've received faulty checks from Asia, I've even transferred money at a Western Union in a grocery store to load up my account one time. All these were BS and bitcoin fixed all the problems. Now add in the everything casino and we have gamblers all over the place. I think that this is some of the underlying problems were seeing in the markets, and I think that SOL's unique properties highlight this much better. What does that mean? That means you can utilize basically 0 transaction fees and feed the gambler in you. Mint coming up? Max mint, dump any NFT's that aren't rare. You can do that profitably on SOL where it's too expensive to do that on Eth. The meme of listing just under floor is real because a small loss on 5 NFT's while given the chance to 10x on one or two is a gamble a lot are willing to take. So where does that leave us? With a lot of gamblers in Sol, and even Eth native people using it as gambling to get in and get out. Where Eth has more of a forced investment due to fees. I don't know how we get out of that, but it is and will always be an important narrative with crypto. Rollbit moving to Eth seems like it's bringing in more people to the table and this thing is going uponly. With that in mind I think it's important to try to figure out investments that aren't a gamble. Minting most NFT's are a gamble, but if it's from a top project in the space? Might be out of the gambling range. We need to look at tokens and nft's that will increase value based on usage of protocol's. I think we get out of the gambling range and move to investing to make continued gains. Buying and holding good projects has always been the way to make money. Take some swings, size appropriately, and put a long time frame on it. With willingness to add to the position. DCAing is a solid meme because it typically works. I like a good gamble as much as the next person, but my expectation isn't that I'll get rich off it, that's where investing comes in. Cypher hacked to the tune of 1 million. Devastating blow to Solana defi, but powering through. Tensorians - launched and crushing. I imagine this goes up only, it's the flagship product of the flagship nft marketplace on the chain with the most nft activity. Feels like a smooth brain play. The 6 month investment thesisBetting on the DePin decentralized physical infrastructure network and HNT. This is a public episode. Lichtenberger was born in 1987 in East Northport, New York. He started playing poker online on PartyPoker when he turned 18. However, it took some time for Lichtenberger to reveal his true talents. After playing cash games for awhile Andrew switched to MTTs and emerged as a highly successful tournament player. He eventually stepped into the live tournament arena in 2007. His first deep run in pursuit of a WSOP bracelet came in 2009, finishing as runner-up in a $5,000 Shootout event for over $200,000. Lichtenberger continued to rack up the cashes across the United States in the early 2010s, making more WSOP final tables in the process. The largest cash of Lichtenberger's career came in 2014 when he won the World Poker Tour Alpha8 Las Vegas for $2,104,245 before winning his first bracelet in 2016. Today's guest on CPG is one of the most popular Twitch streamers in the world and PartyPoker sponsored pro Jaime Staples. As of this episode's release, Jaime has cashed for over $1.5 million in combined online & live poker tournaments with no sign of slowing down anytime soon.Today's conversation with Jaime is gonna travel to some uncomfortable territory as we have a frank discussion about invisible suffering hiding in plain sight all around us. Unfortunately, this is an area where your humble podcast host has infinitely more questions than answers, but that doesn't mean it's a topic unworthy of dragging into the light. It does beg some uncomfortable questions, though:If you catch Poker Greatness, what can you DO with it that helps alleviate the suffering of your fellow man?And what do you do if you realize that there are some problems much too big for any one person to tackle alone?Perhaps this conversation will set up a future Philosophical Friday discussion with Duncan on moving beyond a zero-sum game into the realm of * gasp*... non-zero sum games or win-wins.If this intro feels like you're getting set up for something heavy, don't worry too much… we're also gonna spend an ample amount of time diving into the wide world of everything poker. And if you happened to miss my earlier episode with Jaime or a very early episode with his brother Matt… I'd highly suggest checking out those Greatness Bomb dripping conversations as soon as you're done listening to this one. Now, without any further Ado, I bring to you one of the most thoughtful and noble poker ambassadors in the world… Jaime Staples.

This week, Dara and David are joined by Poker Millions Champion, the creator of the EPT and the president of Partypoker live John Duthie. They've also got Upswing Poker Vice President Mike Brady. For strategy, they welcome British online poker pro and DTO streamer Andy Wilson. Bryan Paris stops by to talk about running good. Plus, Ian delivers news and results.
This week, Jack Hardcastle is locked in and hiding out in what looks like a church for this controversial episode of 'The Lock-In'. Joining our hosts Dara and David, Jack fires lots of shots, not least in the direction of Unibet Ambassador and 'The Chip Race' newsman Ian Simpson. Of course, that's right after the fresh-faced assassin does a little bit of bragging about his recent $270,000 score in the Blowout Series. (Ambassador material, Unibet?) The trio say goodbye to billionaire casino magnate, Republican mega-donor and online poker's public enemy #1 Sheldon Adelson. They pay their actual respects to Chris Moneymaker as he departs Pokerstars after 17 years and chat about the rumour that he is bound for ACR. The conversation then switches to subject of coaching as both Dara and Jack weigh in on what qualities and skillsets are required to be a good coach in the current paradigm. There are some quick takes on Tony G's imminent return to poker, his role in the poker media landscape and the news that MGM Resorts have made an $8.1 Billion offer for Entain plc, the parent company of Partypoker. The lads finish up with not one but two nuggets of strategy, one that's particularly pertinent to the upcoming Unibet PKO Series.

Hello everyone! It's Dave again bringing you what is perhaps our most special episode yet. Today we have Michael Jackness on the other end of the microphone. In these podcasts, we often hear Mike talk about his real-life experiences in running an ecommerce business. What many don't know is that he got his start in digital marketing as an online poker affiliate business back in the early 2000s. On this particular podcast, Mike shares what it was like to start this kind of business and scale it to become a highly profitable company. Aside from the highs, he'll also delve into the lows of being in this industry and reveal the reason why he finally decided to retire. Mike had a personal interest in poker from an early age. His grandfather and uncles gambled and he grew to enjoy it as well. Gambling. He got started as an affiliate in early January 2004. While playing on an online poker tournament one night, he was also surfing online poker websites. While browsing within the site's terms and conditions, he stumbled on the affiliate page. Essentially, the website was offering $50 per person for people who can bring in 1-9 players in a month and $70 per person for those who can bring in more than 10 people. Mike thought he didn't know enough people personally to make money out of this venture so he gave away a book through a penny auction on Ebay. Around this time he reached out to PartyPoker and struck a deal that he would be paid $200 per person if he could have 200 people sign up on a monthly basis. This was how PokerSource was born. The company Mike founded with his cousin a friend would reach profits in the seven-figure range. The trio would move operations to Costa Rica in 2006 but would suffer a setback shortly after due to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. He would retire from the industry at the end of 2010, which is great timing as the infamous Black Friday would take place on April 15, 2011.
