It's understood the DP World Tour is currently in discussions with Trump International Golf Links and Hotel Doonbeg, with a view to holding the event at the world renowned course next year. Welcome back to another explosive edition of the Quiet Please Golf Podcast — and let’s just say, this week’s episode is less a polite tee-off and more a full-blown bunker buster. We pick up right where we left off from last week’s cliffhanger, and the fireworks start immediately. First up: Paul Azinger. The man didn’t just dip a toe into controversy — he dove headfirst. Azinger’s comments about online golf instruction had the golf world clutching pearls and typing fast. Is swing coaching via social media helping or harming the modern game? Zinger didn’t mince words, and neither did we. Then came the Rory McIlroy bombshell — and no, not his 330-yard drives. We’re talking about his searing remarks regarding the PGA’s direction and its ties to the soon-to-be HQ in Frisco. Whether you agree or not, Rory laid it all out with vintage Irish fire, and the implications for the sport’s power structure are massive. And while the men were tossing verbal grenades, Lottie Woad was out there dropping real ones — fairway missiles and clinical putts — en route to victory at the Women’s Irish Open. The amateur phenom didn't just win; she conquered a loaded field with poise that belied her years. A future superstar? We say yes. Over at the John Deere Classic, the theater was electric — a finish packed with drama, grit, and putts that felt like destiny. We break down the defining moments and what they mean for the FedEx Cup race. And that’s all before we even touch on Royal Portrush — because trust us, what’s brewing in Northern Ireland deserves its own segment. Grab your headphones and maybe a helmet — the Quiet Please Golf Podcast is teeing off loud this week.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
A new report says golf is a big turn off for plenty of kids – and huge numbers of parents don't even try to get their children into the sport. The findings, from American Golf, say the Covid boom hasn't been reflected in interest from Under-18s and we risk “losing an entire generation” without action. Is the future of our game in trouble? Tom Irwin and Steve Carroll, both parents of young children, ask if we need to do more to get our offspring away from YouTube and onto the course. Elsewhere, Tom recounts his mammoth 108-hole marathon as he took part in The Big Golf Race to raise cash for Prostate Cancer, Steve laments a disappointing club championship and we ask whether Lottie Woad should have been given her prize money after the amateur sensationally won the Irish Open on the Ladies European Tour. Andy celebrates yet another Victory Monday coming out of the holiday weekend as he joins Brendan! to recap Brian Campbell's second playoff win of 2025. The two discuss the John Deere Classic and how Campbell is being positioned as an "anti-rollback" hero by winning twice as one of the shortest hitters on the PGA Tour. They also chat about other contenders in the Quad Cities with Max Homa showing glimpses of good form and Matt Kuchar sharing more wisdom with young players late on a summer Sunday. Kevin Roy, son of Patrick, turned to the platform formerly known as Twitter to defend himself against Joseph LaMagna about a rules issue on Saturday, leaving Andy and Brendan to wonder what all the fuss was about. PJ chimes in with some conspiracy theories regarding Aldrich Potgieter's mysterious withdrawal before the episode turns to the DP World Tour and author Dan Brown's latest win. Just in time for Coffee Golf season, Brown has returned to the winner's circle and will surely play a prominent role at Royal Portrush in a few weeks. Brendan and PJ are also giddy about the latest star from the Tartan Tour, Chris Maclean. Elsewhere overseas, Lottie Woad won the KPMG Women's Irish Open by six shots, her first win in a professional event. Andy and Brendan debate whether she should take her LPGA Tour card this year once she earns enough points, or play out her senior season at FSU next spring. In news, Lucas Glover is ready for the Scottish Open and is glad no LIV players received an invite, and the new FedEx Cup payout structure has been revealed. This episode ends with a tribute to Ed Fiori, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 72.
On this week's edition of the podcast, we recap the KPMG Women's Irish Open. How successful it has been in its four years and how it can continue to grow moving forward. There were also missed chances for Seamus Power and Conor Purcell on both sides of the Atlantic as they battle to retain cards on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour respectively. Knock, knock, it's Europe as the Irish men's, and women's, boys and girls' teams take on the cream of the crop in the European Amateur Team Championships.
It was a blockbuster weekend in sport as Tipperary defeated Kilkenny in a nail baiting All Ireland Senior Hurling final yesterday. In 2023 in the Sunshine Ladies Tour Folke would win Dimension Data Ladies Pro-Am at -8 by 3 shots to Annelise Caudal, that would set up for a good run on LET with 2 runner ups at Joburg Ladies Open and Lacoste Ladies Open de France as well as T9th at KPMG Women's Irish Open. In 2024 by Moa"s own admission was worse as she admitted trying to force things after a good 2023 ultimately leading to finishing 38th on LET Order of Merit. In 2025 it's been a solid start for Moa as she would post a respectable T14th at PIF Saudi Ladies Intl in a high quality field, was in contention at Australian Women's Classic before unfortunately a final round 77 propelled her to T27th then T5th at Ford NSW Open in Woollongong. She currently sits in 21st on LET Order of Merit standings and with a big European run coming up hopefully we will see Moa challenging more often. Great player even better person. Lovely and down to earth. Download via Podbean, Apple & Spotify and be sure to like and subscribe. Thanks

Will Doctor gives you the sharpest card for the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and Korn Ferry Tour Championship! -Top 5 favs for Dunhill -2 matchups for Dunhill -1 t10 for Dunhill -2 outrights for Dunhill -Dunhill best bet -KFT Championship outright -KFT Championship best bet Summary Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Jon Rahm (0:54 - 5:20) Jon Rahm opens at +650, fresh off a second-place finish at the Open de España. Despite his strong recent form, Will Doctor passes on Rahm due to the unpredictable nature of his game and the ongoing conflict between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour. Rahm's excellent play over the past month is acknowledged, but his missed cut at this event in 2019 and distractions from the LIV-PGA dispute make him a risky pick. Rory McIlroy (5:21 - 10:30) McIlroy, priced at +700, has several near-wins this season, including a playoff loss at the BMW PGA Championship. His putting has been outstanding, but Will Doctor is concerned about potential distractions as McIlroy is paired with prominent figures in the pro-am. Despite McIlroy's stellar form and strong history at the Dunhill, Will Doctor opts to skip him this week, but favors McIlroy over Rahm. Tyrrell Hatton vs. Tommy Fleetwood (11:00 - 16:00) Hatton, priced at 11-1, has won this event twice but has struggled with slow starts this year. Will Doctor backs Hatton in a matchup against Fleetwood, whose poor putting and recent finishes (no better than 22nd) at the Dunhill raise concerns. Fleetwood's past success at the Dunhill, including multiple second-place finishes, is overshadowed by recent struggles. Shane Lowry (16:01 - 18:00) Lowry, priced at 20-1, is passed over due to his subpar putting. Despite strong ball striking, Will Doctor believes Lowry's struggles on the greens will keep him from contending this week. Robert MacIntyre vs. Shane Lowry (18:01 - 21:00) Will Doctor picks MacIntyre over Lowry in a matchup, citing MacIntyre's recent solid play, including a win at the Scottish Open and multiple top finishes. MacIntyre's consistent driving and putting make him a safer pick than Lowry. Grant Forrest (22:00 - 25:00) Forrest is Will Doctor's first outright pick, priced at 80-1. His recent form, including top-10 finishes at the Irish Open and Open de España, along with strong past performances at the Dunhill, make him a contender. Will Doctor also picks Forrest for a top-10 finish at +375. Tom McKibben (25:01 - 27:00) McKibben, at 60-1, is another outright pick. Despite recent struggles, McKibben's strong driving and iron play are highlighted as key strengths. His 10th-place finish at the BMW PGA signals a return to form, making him a value bet for this week. Best Bet: Nicholas Norgaard Over Patrick Reed (27:01 - 30:00) Norgaard is chosen over Reed at -115. Norgaard's recent win at the British Masters and strong play over the past month make him a reliable pick, while Reed's top-10 finish last week is attributed mostly to luck with putting. Korn Ferry Tour Championship John Pak (30:01 - 33:00) Pak, priced at 45-1, is Will Doctor's outright pick. Pak has shown recent improvement, finishing in the top 15 in his last two starts. Will Doctor believes Pak is well-positioned to win and secure a PGA Tour card. Isaiah Salenda (33:01 - 35:00) Salenda is Will Doctor's best bet for a top-20 finish at +320. His long drives make him well-suited for the demanding Pete Dye course, and Will Doctor expects him to rebound after a missed cut last week. Conclusion Will Doctor closes by encouraging listeners to stay tuned for more coverage and to review his Sanderson Farms Championship preview. His picks for the Alfred Dunhill Links and Korn Ferry Tour Championship offer a mix of well-researched matchups, outright winners, and best bets to guide bettors for the upcoming tournaments. An awesome weekend of September golf has Andy and Brendan in great spirits for this Monday episode. To start, Brendan downplays a Browns Victory Monday in the Swag Sports Minute, but Andy is riding high after a great day at the ballpark and delivers the news that Andrew Price won the Crump Cup. After that, the two dive into a loaded weekend of golf, starting with the Irish Open at Royal County Down where Rasmus Hojgaard chased down Rory McIlroy and the Great Manassero for the win. Andy and Brendan share their thoughts on how RCD played for the pros, the TV coverage (or lack thereof) of the tournament, and another disappointing finish for Rory in a tournament that means a lot to him. After that, Meg Adkins calls in from Dulles to help recap the Solheim Cup as the Americans finally secured a win in the competition. Meg shares on-the-ground insights from the week, hitting on the shuttle disasters of Friday morning, standout performances from Nelly Korda and Rose Zhang, Charley Hull's smoking habits continuing to take over social media, and who will takeover as captains for both sides in the next Solheim Cup in September 2026. After wrapping up with the Solheim Cup, LIV Bolingbrook gets featured after Bryson DeChambeau said the course "played close to a major championship test" this week. Jon Rahm took home both the tournament and the season-long title, leading Andy and Brendan to wonder what this means looking back on not only his 2024, but also his career. Producer PJ then joins to share the great news that the leading Champions Tour gambling podcast has stayed hot and even improved on last week's efforts, as Brendan secured a Steve Stricker playoff win for those tailing the picks. To finish things off, Patton Kizzire gets a shoutout for winning the Procore, with Creator Classic alum Wes Bryan taking in a T13 in Napa.

The episode begins with the three discussing what they are In and Out on after a busy weekend of golf at the Irish Open and Solheim Cup. Then, the conversation turns to LIV Golf with a recap of the Individual Championship, won by Jon Rahm on Sunday, before the trio debate where the league should go from here. Topics include a new television deal for the league, the need for more youth in the player pool, and the importance of a development tour to the success of the main circuit. To wrap things up, Garrett, Andy and Joseph share some Recommendations for some fall viewing, listening, and eating.

Northern Ireland was a different place when Scotsman Kevan Whitson took the Royal County Down head professional job in 1992. The country was still enmeshed in the Troubles, golf travel hadn't yet boomed, and the club saw 1,500 visitor rounds a year. But Old Tom's layout at this low-key members' club strung along the Irish Sea has always been world-class, and RCD now rightfully claims its place as perhaps the greatest links in the world, as well as a fixture on every golfer's bucket list. Host Tom Coyne sat down with Whitson to walk through the changes he's overseen in his 30 years at the club, the balancing act between providing an elite visitor experience and serving the club's membership, and his memories of hosting everyone from Jack and Arnie to Rory and Rickie. Plus, Whitson offers a few points of advice for anyone gearing up to take on the 2024 Irish Open host venue, and lays out how Royal County Down may just be golf's answer to Emily Post, with every hole teaching players to mind their manners.
