We discuss what went into Kenner deciding what the original twelve Star Wars figures should be and take a look at a wish list of characters that may have been considered. What was the reason that the main villain of Star Wars, Grand Moff Tarkin wasn't made into a figure? Listen and find out!Brian shares some great tips on being a focused collector and the importance of collecting something that excites you. Check out the Plastic Galaxy website and be sure to order a copy of this in-depth look at the toy line that started it all: Kenner Star Wars figures. Thanks Brian!

George Lucas' 1977 space fantasy Star Wars changed the way American audiences consumed films. More, though, it also changed the landscape for movie merchandising, with more money being made on toys, games, and collectibles than on the movies themselves. Now the documentary Plastic Galaxy looks back at the first generation of Star Wars toys, released between 1977 and 1985 from Kenner. Does this film capture the childhood magic of Star Wars figures, and can the documentary appeal to anyone not already obsessed with little plastic Stormtroopers? Find out in this special Now Playing/Star Wars Action News crossover podcast hosted by Marjorie, Arnie, and Jerry!

Its a loosey goosey Vintage Pod as Skye and Steve are joined by black velvet artist, tattoo artist, and Leia enthusiast Bruce White. We talk all about Leia and her Milan-ready Bespin Gown; unloved puffy stickers; and nugget fashion drawings. We talk about the "earlyretiree" auctions and the Plastic Galaxy movement. We also unveil a new exciting art project and some more polls. Finally, Skye also gets a little too creative at times with his post-production in order to compensate for his relative lack of work in pre-production.
